NGL - I've always loved IKEA and to a lesser extent, I still do. Their budget friendly furniture always serves a niche. This review is about my last 2 experiences visiting this place.
We were in the store to buy a minimalistic high chair that was only $20. The deal was so good for the product that we actually bought two. The employees are as non attentive as ever and the staff seems to be getting younger and more apathetic as compared 'Back in the day'. But I guess I was there for the budget friendly high chair and came out satisfied. So why the 2 stars? Well its their stupid cafeteria.
IKEA food raves itself for cheap, good and affordable. While I can agree to all those adjectives, their service is completely and utterly laughable. Sunday afternoon is busy, sure I understand that, but when you're 50 patrons deep into a cafeteria line, your 2 line workers and 1 register person is NOT sufficient. Anybody with a brain can tell you that. It took over 15-20 minutes to get our food and check out.
Yes there are people in the back and other workers, but man the common sense is lacking. Once we got our food, we went to get our silverware, but alas, there are no more spoons and forks. We have to wait another 5-10 minutes to have a heavy set guy hustle from behind the counter to the front to get some cutlery. *rapid breathing*
A lack of foresight plagues the staffers. Erase that, a lack of common sense is missing from them.

At another visit last year, it was a cold, dark and rainy night (cliché, but Yes it really was!). I had dropped by to get a drink and do some walking through checking baby beds. My truck's battery decided to give up that night. Since it was rainy and I had my pregnant wife at the time with me. I needed some help jumping my truck after I loaded it up.
I had my jumper cables in hand and I just needed someone to help me with my battery. I went into CUSTOMER SERVICE and asked the folks there to help me jump it. Hoping for some sort of friendly face and a lending hand, the lady states " Sorry, its a liability issue".
Truth be told, I half-ass expected this response, especially from a corporate's POV. But from a human kind perspective, this was a total jerk move. IDC if its a corporate policy, I will always help someone out or at least find someone that can.
Apparently to IKEA its not as important as covering their own butts.
BET - I see you IKEA.
