Great place to take a break! Foods are fresh, tasty, for reasonable pricing! Signature meatball plate is the MUST. And Stockholm salad with smoke salmon is popular too!

Some decent meatballs, which you can also buy frozen and make at home. The default option is a combo with mashed potatoes, peas, gravy, with a jam. You can get this as a combo with a side salad and a drink. The combo’s ok, the salad’s decent and small. I don’t love jelly, so I skipped that (no option to omit it from the robot ordering screens). The mashed potatoes were great and the peas and very meh, and I really like peas. All-in-all, a good option, but you’ll want to also try the food hall next door as well.

I usually love the IKEA food but this SF location is a disappointment. First off the hours are extremely limited. Also some of the staff are unfriendly. I arrived at 5:10 pm and two of the younger staff were already trying to close up- putting chairs on top of the tables and closing some of the ordering kiosks… They don’t close until 6. This place will never last if you make your customers feel unwelcome.

Decent Swedish meatballs served in gravy, accompanied by mash potatoes, peas and lingonberry jam. While not the taste of homemade, a welcome treat nonetheless when shopping at IKEA — a big step up from the Costco cafeteria.

Great date spot. All jokes aside, if you’re shopping and need a quick bite, this will do the job. The Swedish meatball meal is pretty good if you’re not expect to be wowed. The lingenberry sauce is better than anything you’ll have at thanksgiving. It’s pairs really well with with mashed potatoes and gravy that comes with the meatballs.

I have been going here a few times every single month for like the last 4 months and the ordering screens have been broken every single time.. also don't run smoothly and freeze. there is 0 way leadership isn't aware. This makes me think what else is messed up that no one will take the initiative to fix ever. Store could use some more seating and items are constantly out of stock.

Good food for the price, but the automated kiosk for ordering was so incredibly slow it almost made me give up. Still worth a visit, the food itself was pretty tasty

Good weekly deals as member. Free coffee and tea. Annoying that they do not have salmon all the time which prevented me from giving it 5 stars; otherwise solid experience.

Yelp
Hubby & I dropped in before going to a matinee at the Golden Gate as we had some free time. We entered street level through Saluhall food court & took the up escalator to level 2 and headed into the store. On the 2d floor we realized there's a Saluhall food court extension so we exited the store. Saw there's a counter 3 window for the IKEA restaurant. Good design as you can order food from IKEA without actually stepping foot into the store. We placed an order at the touch screen kiosk - strawberry vanilla softee. A receipt was dispensed with our order #. For $1.75 each the softee was yummy. Served in a cup with a cone.

Yelp
Nothing tooo spectacular about this ikea restaurant. Unlike the Mountain View / Palo Alto IKEA, the menu is very limited and is made to order. I got the $5 breakfast plate which is actually cheap and filling for SF! Be warned however, you'll wait up to 20minutes for some eggs, bacon, potatos & 'pancakes' when other locations will serve this in a cafeteria style service. I assume there isn't a self serve cafeteria section solely because of the location; I'd imagine there being tons of stolen Swedish meatballs.

Yelp
I finally figured out how to order using their big Ipad. I got two slices of smoked salmon, comes with salad, tiny salad dressing, potato salad. It was delicious. Very lite lunch for $10. Cannot beat it. I got my protein and greens. It was saran wrapped and came from the displayed refrigerator. I got hot tea and used the lemon that came with the entree and made lemon tea. Great lunch. Came at 11:15 am and I was the 2nd diner. I know im not being consistent with the stars. The place was clean. The staff gave me the code to the restroom. Restroom was clean. Salmon was not super salty. I got a free tea for being an Ikea member. I food came out in two minutes.

Yelp
We stopped by the food court while window shopping at this Ikea on Market St. and tried the plant balls with mashed potatoes and peas for a snack. This was my first time trying the plant balls with they were pretty good and well-seasoned. I actually think the plant balls are better than the traditional meatballs and it went well with all the sides. It reminded me of a Swedish thanksgiving dinner!

Yelp
I always enjoyed IKEA growing up in Maryland. It was wonderful and sweet. I still use IKEA furniture at home...a few small pieces...Target and Bed Bath and Beyond to this day. The cafeteria at IKEA is inexpensive and fun. They offer Swedish meatballs...I got a kids meal $5...hot dogs ice cream cones...other menu items..wraps...I would go back to IKEA...really enjoy Swedish meatballs...old tradition..on Market St...here's to the future

Yelp
Now I know why the actors in Ingmar Bergman's films look so depressed. They must've gone to IKEA for their meal breaks. I finally tried the cafe on the second floor on a quiet weekday, and while there were few customers in the store itself, the cafe was busy. It appeared to be doubling as an employee cafeteria. No problem with that except most of the tables were taken by individual diners. I decided to get what I presume to be their most popular plate, the $9.99 Swedish Meatballs. You get eight with a standard order, and while I know there are devotees of these spherical bites, I have to say they get a big meh from me. They referred to the gravy as cream sauce, but I didn't get that. The lingonberries and mashed potatoes were pretty predictable (photo: https://yelp.to/ZZhA0v4ryo). My one discovery of delight was that the peas were not mushy. I decided to get the $4.49 Caesar Salad as a side, and it came in its own container (photo: https://yelp.to/uKiwf9MIaY). For the price, it wasn't bad, though they used a Newman's Own packet for the dressing. I know IKEA's cafeteria-style food, especially the meatballs, has its fans, but I have to say I was underwhelmed. The next time I ever get a shelving unit, I'll probably go elsewhere to eat. FOOD - 3 stars...not clear what the appeal is with the meatballs...geez, I almost bought a dozen AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...it does look like an employee cafeteria...bonus points for their individual restrooms SERVICE - 2 stars...not much...and they gave me a dirty plastic fork TOTAL - 3 stars...I upgraded my rating for the restroom RELATED - Exploring western SoMa? Yelp
Came by IKEAs Swedish deli to have lunch because who doesn't love their meatballs?! Their meatballs meal is a must try which comes with 8 Swedish meatballs, mashed potatoes, cream sauce, lingonberrys, side salad and a soft drink for $15.19. Food was tasty, good portions, friendly service. They now have plant based meatballs which was sold out! I even ended up buying a bag of frozen meatballs to go!

Yelp
Poor customer service. They hate talking to customers but choose to talk among their own staff coworkers about non-work related topics.

Yelp
It's the cheapest place in the area for breakfast. You get what you pay for. The staff is nice and helpful. The food was cold even though I was first but like I said, you get what you pay for. Definitely better than a bagel outside. My only wish was that the food wasn't so cold.

Yelp
showed up around 5pm on a Sunday and they were out of almost everything. you can only order on these touchscreens and only one was functional, so there was a line. after waiting a while, i discovered the only things they were still serving were drinks, fish, and hot dogs. that said, the plant based meatballs are great! not the veggie balls, you'll want to avoid those. confusingly they used to have a "veggie dog" but seem to have replaced it with a "plant-based dog" which is less good. whereas the veggie dog had a hearty texture and actual veggies in it, the plant-based dog is basically indistinguishable from a normal hot dog. on the bright side, the prices are super cheap (like $3 for a hot dog and drink) and you can always go across the hall to the Saluhall food court if they are out of stuff.

Yelp
We came here on Saturday and it was our first time here since it opened. Everyone has mentioned to try the swedish meatballs. Everyone. And I finally had my chance. It was a full plate of peas, mash, swedish meatballs and lingonberry sauce. For $15, it was just okay-don't get me wrong, it was a good portion but it didn't blow my mind-but I appreciate having the opportunity to try it. I'd say the winner here would be the strawberry vanilla soft-serve. That was the winner for us. We ate it up and talked about how good it was (even on a cold day). We would definitely go back for that. Love

Yelp
Convenient to self order. Food good quality. Getting into washroom might be tough as you need a code.
