Google
Traveled from the North to try this famous African restaurant. First time dinning here and the food was amazing and well seasoned. Not too spicy (as in pepper) for someone that can’t handle pepper. Will definitely recommend if you travel from out of state and looking for an African restaurant.

Google
Ike's restaurant is authentic! We were undecided on what to get so Funmi (our server) got us samples! After tasting the soup samples (which were all amazingly good), we ordered catfish pepper soup, edikaikong and efo. Everything was delicious 😋. Like the pepper was on point! Even the pineapple-ginger juice was great!

Google
Food was good, but don’t go unless you love really really spicy food. I don’t!!! Could not taste my food , feel my month lips, bc everything was way to spicy fire hot, for me. Nothing helped the burn but time. 😂.

Google
Wow! This was a find. We stopped while traveling home from Atlanta. The team that served us went over and beyond to help with lunch selections. The menu contains so many options, and we needed help navigating gluten-free and shellfish free. After ordering, the dishes started coming...wow what flavor! Thank you for a special dining experience. The food was amazing from the peanut soup to the suya sampler. All the meats were perfectly smoked and full of flavor. Even the Jamaican ginger beer was a special treat. The portions were substantial.

Google
They charge over $20 for ayamase with white rice, 3 pieces of sweet plantain and 1 egg but barely put any meat. I got 3 very very small chunks of beef. Not worth the price in my opinion. If you don’t have a high spice tolerance, do not order. The ayamase is very spicy.

Google
This is my first time trying the cafe I was so excited to try the food . I understand inflation but it’s no way a $21 plate should look like a kids meal . What exactly am I paying for . I got beef and chicken jollof rice . With the portion sizes compared to the price I will not be back .

Google
Being a Nigerian and actually trying to find a suitable place to dine that actually serves authentic Nigerian cuisine. I was a little skeptical but all of my skepticism went away immediately after arriving. The restaurant is tucked away on Tech Dr. in a shopping plaza off of Indian Trail in Norcross. We literally ordered everything on the menu because the food was that good. The server we had was the absolute best her name was Fumi and she really worked her magic with suggestions and just being so friendly. The food was priced right and I definitely will be back.Nothing like authentic Nigerian food.

Google
Clean. Good customer service. Dine in or take out. Plenty of parking. Delivery services will have to go inside to pickup so take your phone to confirm the pickup they do like to see that.

Yelp
As a person that is not accustomed to Nigerian dishes, I know I have reached the cusp of authenticity. I have ventured into kitchens that serve Ethiopian Sudanese Ghanaian as well as Ugandan cuisine! But today was a first trying the soft, fluffy, warm but intentionally flat tasting fufu. The people of Nigeria enjoy using fufu with almost every meal for its starch and as a polite way to eat with your hands. To me To me, Ike's embodies the truest experience for your first dinner of fufu with light soup, Jollof Rice, plantain, peanut soup, fried tilapia, & chicken Suya. I am an incredibly adventurous eater, but with so many of the menu items containing the shrimp powder I was not able to try everything. I really wanted to experience the egusi, but I can't because of the Ingredients require shrimp powder. Be sure to ask when coming in for your first time because they let you sample the soups such as peanut, okra, and others. Some contain peanuts and shrimp so you really have to be honest with the servers that are educating you about the menu. I had the absolute pleasure and fun experience while being waited on by the beautiful & vibrant Victoria. She is so knowledgeable, fun, enthusiastic, and an absolute ambassador of her culture and love for her people. I had such a warm hearted conversation with her about dishes to her and her family. I also sampled the palm wine which is such an experience! I loved my plantains and how crispy they were while most are served, greasy and mushy, mine were delectable and hot! The soup was so distinct, unique, tasty, and robust! I love that it is a spicy soup, but it doesn't make you full yet it enhances the flavor of the food. I did enjoy trying the chicken with the fu fu dipping in the light soup. There were so many options on the menu but I only tried eight. When I visit Atlanta again I'll be sure to stop by and bring my family. This is a place of culture, rich in family values, graced by beautiful ambience. Their bathrooms are warmly lit, clean and fully stocked. Everybody is happy to see you and very warm. Can't wait for my next visit I will definitely be ordering some beef suya, goat as well as puff puff!

Yelp
We drove a ways and it wasn't worth it. I had dry beef suya. It seemed dry, old, oily at the same time. Service was basic. Ambience was bare but they were setting up for Christmas. The jollof was decent and I took leftovers but didn't eat them. My dad ate most of his meal but also didn't eat his leftovers.

Yelp
A fantastic spot for Nigerian cuisine! I tried the Peanut Soup, the Lamb/ Beef /Chicken Suya Platter, the Jollof Rice with Plantains, Red Red, and Efo Riro--and I loved every bite. The weekend live music made the atmosphere lively and welcoming. If you've never tried Nigerian food before, this is a great place to start!
google avatar

Yelp
I often order suya through DoorDash and it's good but they tend to be stingy with the meat which is frustrating because these meals are not cheap.

Yelp
Expanding my palette is one of my favorite things to do being a foodie! West African food has always been a favorite of mine & I've been having my eye on @ikescafeandgrill for a minute! located in Norcross, this location has plenty of seating and a vast menu full of all your favorites. Food is flavorful & spicy If you've never tried fufu or pounded yam before I highly recommend pairing it with Egusi soup for your first time! The drinks here are also strong! It's also in a plaza, so no worries on parking It's pretty busy on a Saturday night, so be mindful

Yelp
The food was good. African food from all over so delicious. The beef had a little bit of more oil less flavor. The food took us back to Africa. Thanks Ike cafe grill. Our server was Victoria. She was amazing. The ambiance was good. Lots of chairs in the back made me think about the place turns into a night out scene. Keep up the good work.

Yelp
Manager refused to honor discount perk. 0 vegetarian options despite what the menu states. The ambiance is cool would be great for watching a game, there is also a small dance floor. However I Will not be back. However my waitresses was very nice and the food that my party got was fresh.

Yelp
3.5 - My first experience with their peanut butter soup was simply amazing! It def depends on who's cooking, making the batches of soup. My 2nd time was def not the best. The peanut soup taste like the light soup with no resemblance of peanut butter all. 3rd time's a charm.

Yelp
The first time I came here I had an amazing experience!! Music good food amazing this last time I felt as if I was not as welcomed ! The server took for ever taking order and bring out food severing others before my table and then I found a piece of medal in my food I will NOT be returning . Good day.

Yelp
Great authentic African food!!! The Ghanaian Jollof is my favorite. The service here is good and the food comes out hot without a long wait. I got the Efo Riro with beef and it was delicious the veggies tasted fresh and the have a nice portion of well seasoned and tender meat. My friend got the Egusi soup with Fufu which they thoroughly enjoyed also. I'll definitely be back to try more of their dishes. They also have dj here playing live music.

Yelp
I have no reference point regarding what flavors to look for in terms of Ghanaian food but for what it's worth, this place is amazing! The restaurant is a medium size establishment off of Tech Dr. in Norcross and it's a hidden gem of West African cuisine. Upon entry, it's a very unassuming entrance. The interior is spacious while the setting is set to provide a more intimate sense of style with low lighting. Unfortunately, the music is blaring so conversation will be difficult to during a date. The service is great. My server was prompt and professional. Now for the food... A friend recommended I get the jollof rice. This is a tomato based dish that gives you your choice of protein of fish and beef or chicken and beef. There is a depth of flavor to this that I could not pinpoint. The rice itself had a rich smokey flavor that has a savory bite to it. Again, I can't pinpoint the spice they used but the dish itself is addictive to consume! The beef I will say had an odd texture to it. It was tough to chew but was also a bit fatty which was an off putting experience. The chicken was a bit more tender but was still giving an overcooked feel. Both the proteins were overcooked as there were tough portions to chew on. They were flavorful to be sure but for the most part, consuming the proteins was off so if they can improve the cooking method on the proteins, that would make for a better experience. The plantains included were tender and sweet which I thoroughly enjoyed. I also sampled the meat pie. This was a different to be sure. The minced meat is mixed in with some carrots and onions and the seasoning. It's almost like a hot pocket but the dough casing is thicker and doughy. It came hot and ready which was pleasant. All in all, again, I have no reference to understand what the flavors are but there is definitely a richness and a savory depth in the Jollof Rice. As this is also a tomato based dish, between the sweetness of the tomatoes and the sweetness of the onions off sets the savoriness and then there's a spicy bite to the whole dish between the rice and the gravy sauce. I thoroughly enjoyed this dish despite having no context on what to know but for what it's worth, it's good home style cooking. Highly recommend this place for sure!

Yelp
Excellent Customer Service! We were greeted and seated from the time we hit the door. Very friendly staff and atmosphere. Hostess was a doll. My friends and I had been wanting to try Nigerian food for so long and we ended up at Ike's. The young man who took our orders was very knowledgeable and explained all the dishes perfectly. I opted for the white rice and stew. I wanted to try the FuFu so ordered that too. Impressive. I love FuFu lol. Now the stew was good don't get me wrong but it was too spicy for me. It was totally my fault for not asking was it spicy. I'm definitely going to come again...next trip I'm going to try Egusi Music/TV inside. Inside/Outside Seating Open Parking

Yelp
The food was ok. The flavors were great in the stews and rice, however all of the meat was overcooked. Drowning it in stew does not make it tender. The beef Suya was tough. The server was nice and helpful. The drinks were good. The vibe was energetic; bright and great music. Maybe it was a bad day with the meats.

Yelp
Always my go to place in ATL for African food, the ambiance is superb . despite bin Nigerian - The Ghana food have been my favorite @ Ike's The staff are always courteous and ever willing to help with food selection from the menu - impeccable service. I forgot my wallet during my last visit and the staff went above and beyond to find me in car park before I drove off.

Nadia C.

Yelp
Delicious food. Kind staff. Nice decor. I tried fufu for the first time and had a great experience. The waiter gave me great recommendations and everything was so good.
google avatar

Yelp
After traveling, I was invited to come have dinner here. I ordered Beef Suya, Rice and Goat Pepper Soup. Yes I was hungry! My meal was great but the person that invited me chicken was still raw in the middle. They did change it out for fish but it was disappointing because that's what they really wanted. Hopefully next time they will take the time to cook the chicken properly.

Yelp
I would honestly rate a 3.5 if possible. One waitress was rude but the one who served us was professional. We ordered the efo riro with assorted meat and the jollof rice with beef. The efo riro doesn't come with starch so you have to order your pounded yam etc separately. The jollof rice plate does also come with 3 plantain. We also ordered a side of beans which was $10. The prices were pretty decent . The jollof rice plate was delicious but the efo riro was pretty bland. There was a hint of spice but I wish we would've requested a bit more. They also bring out the water and lemon bowl for washing hands after eating the poundo. It was a good place to try African food if you never have. There are flags next to each dish to tel you where it originated.

Yelp
Went for lunch today I'm almost positive my family and I were the first table there. First thing I noticed when I walked in how loud the music was. I know places want the atmosphere to be right for customers but it was 1230pm and it was like a dance club in there. We get seated I'm already super excited being Nigerian there aren't many African restaurants where I live. I got the Okra Soup with beef and Jollof rice (Nigerian style). If I could only give stars to the food ONLY it when be a 5, but the service was honestly a joke. He came to the table once and that was when we we're already done and waiting for the check. I do recommend but I'll probably do ToGo food from here on out.
google avatar

Natasha R.

Yelp
Had food from this place for a family event, and it was AMAZING! Every item I had was flavorful and well made, and I loved having a little taste of Nigerian Culture in each bite. I think that this is definitely a place to come to with family so you can try a little bit of everything- partially because everything is so good but also because I believe these dishes are meant to be eaten together. It was also my first time trying fufu, which I absolutely loved- it's a soft, slightly sweet plantain dough you eat with the Egusi soup. Together, the combo is a match made in heaven! Highly recommend to all

Yelp
Good ol Ike's ! Ike's is a staple. Always dependable and consistent. Service is usually great. Even when it's busy they're pretty nice and attentive. The staff is usually mix of Ghanaians, Nigerians, Americans, and a couple from other west African countries so they have a good idea of what to order. The food is always good. Occasionally they'll run out of something but usually they have whatever you want. The menu is very comprehensive. Probably the biggest one of all the West African restaurants. The portions are decent if not large. The space/ambiance is cool as well. There's live music/DJs on certain nights. So if you want a full vibe you can definitely find that too. Or come in on a Sunday for something chill. Faves: efo riro, egusi, oro star, chicken suya

Yelp
insanely amazing food! from the moment we sat down, we were greeted with a lively atmosphere, energetic music, and a huge screen displaying a movie for everyone to enjoy. I had never eaten nigerian/ghanaian food and two of my good friends that came with me were born in those countries, so it was a great experience to try their food! the waiter was extremely nice and the food came very quickly! I got the chicken jollof rice with jasmine rice, which was so flavorful and delicious. I was stoked about the amount of onions they gave! the table got the beef suya to share and it was so juicy and tender. highly recommend this dish and the place in general!
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent food and full of flavor. The Egusi had a flavor I've never tasted before and it was wonderful. Our waitress Atta was most helpful and very sweet. Love her. The place had a good vibe and guests seemed happy with their orders. We will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Food was good and tasty. Prices are mid-pricey. The staff are kind of unwelcoming and snobby. Also, the bathrooms could use more cleaning, sanitation, and overall organization.
google avatar

Yelp
I've heard a lot of good things about Ike's. We came here on a Saturday night, It wasn't too packed. We waited about 10min to be seated. We sat at one of the high top tables, which probably wasn't a good idea with the amount of food we ordered lol. To start we ordered drinks and appetizers. Pina coladas and the Senegalese Spritz. As well as Moi Moi and Lamb Suya. The lamb was kinda tough and still had the bones in it. For the rest of our meal we ordered the Red Snapper, Jollof rice with beef, and Okra soup with chicken and Eba on the side. Everything was good, but the Okra soup was really really slimy, which kinda deterred us from eating much of it.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for a while. I sat at the bar and was having a hard time deciding what i wanted to order. My server Kayode was so helpful and gave me different options. He let me try a sample of the rice to see which one i liked better as well as the egusi soup and peanut butter soup. Both was delicious but i went with the Egusi soup and fufu and got the Ghana Jollof rice and beef suya to go. I was very very impressed with the food there and i will return. It's very clean and the staff was friendly especially Kayode...he really took his time with me and didn't make me feel rushed since i couldn't decide on what i wanted! I highly recommend

Yelp
I'm saddened to be writing this but i felt like i had to share. But i do want to note that my order was via doordash. I have had Ike's once before and it was just okay. The Ike's in Ghana, though is amazing! I ordered fried yam via doordash today and it was HORRIBLE (see attached photo). That honestly should have never been served. The yam is old (hence the black spots). If you know Ghanaian fried yam then you know this is horrible. Suya came with spice on the side vs on it so they sent plain suya and while the spice is supposed to be spicy it shouldn't be hot. The spice on the side was essentially just cayenne pepper. The only decent thing in my order was the tsofi (fried turkey tail).

Yelp
HANDS DOWN THE BEST AFRICAN RESTAURANT (where you can actually sit down and be served)! Also, it has a bar but it is limited. The food is always so filling and affordable! It's not better than grandma but it gives mama or auntie! I hate it, when items are missing off the menu but the costumer service makes up! Definitely would consider myself a loyal customer but when I'm on this side of town!

Danny M.

Yelp
Come to Atlanta to move daughter. Looked up Ghanaian food and this place came up. Went there with wife and daughter. Great ambiance and service. The food was excelente from a wide variety of west African cuisine. Ordered the casava leaf and wife had fried snapper also red red and egussii with pounded yam fufu and daughter had the red sauce with pounded plantain fufu Overall the food was excelente, but I will suggest to use a higher quality palm oil or even better the carotene no colesterol palm oil Highly recommend to all who like west African

Yelp
never ate there but like food items on the menu my ex wife lived 2 min away we could good smell of grilling meat in the air might try it

Yelp
We love Ike's Cafe when we're craving authentic West African food. The Egusi Soup and the Chicken Suya with spicy rice is one of the best dishes in Atlanta. If you're looking for something new check out Ike's.

Yelp
My friend (who's American) told me about this restaurant, so today on my birthday, I decided to give them a try! Let me share my experience with you! Location: strip mall plaza Parking: shared parking Interior: spacious enough to be a lounge or nightclub Service: Crappy once I was seated at the bar. The lady who served us at the bar was so stand-off ish! I informed her that it was our first time there, and she was being difficult about our orders. I wanted pepper sauce on the side, because I like my food extra spicy, & she kept saying that's not possible & I'm asking why? And she didn't want to say why, so she finally admits they've been out of pepper sauce since yesterday, so I asked to order a cocktail on the menu so I can think about what I want, and she said "I don't make drinks". So I asked if someone was on duty to make 'em? And she said I don't know, wait. So a guy (the owner I believe) called her over & told her she was being kinda rude to us & giving her customer service pointer (way to go sir!) so she started being a little more compassionate/nice (even gave me a slice of cake for my birthday at the end of my meal), but by then I was ready to try the food & see if it was worth the hassle! And I still gave her a $18 tip despite the treatment because I'm Liberian, but I would not return based off of the treatment we received in the beginning. Food: the peanut butter soup was good, the puff puff was soft but tasty, my drink was ok, the red gravy with the white rice was alright, the substitute pepper sauce had too much ginger, the jollof rice was good, but the chicken suya came out after all our other food did because she forgot it, but when she brought it out after a few minutes, it tasted so dry & nasty! Tasted like old chicken reheated in the microwave, the rest of the food was decent, nothing to brag home about. I wouldn't travel over an hour to eat here again!! Not worth it!!!! I recommend the soups only! That's the only thing that's great! I gave two stars: one for being an African restaurant, and one for the awesome owner trying to correct his staff on their customer service skills.

Yelp
Authentic african food is really good. If you have time you should check it out ... service is a bit slow but worth it.

Yelp
Ike Café and Grill: Authentic African Flavors Delivered My first experience with restaurant-made African food at Ike Café and Grill was a delightful journey into flavorful territory. While not my first encounter with African cuisine, their offerings certainly lived up to expectations, delivering a satisfying and authentic taste of the continent.
google avatar

Kimberly J.

Yelp
Ike's is one of my favorite African restaurants. The Beef Suya is flavored with many different seasonings and mean nice and tender. Second favorite of mine is the Oxtails & Jollof rice. If you're craving African food this is your spot whether it's for Lunch or Dinner. The service can be a little slow due to fresh to order food. You'll thank me later. The food is so delicious go check Ike's out, it won't disappoint.
google avatar

Dahlys H.

Yelp
Great African restaurant. Excellent service, clean facility, and the server was personable and took time explaining several of the dishes to me.
google avatar

Yelp
If you're in Atlanta looking for the best African cuisine, come here! I probably come here two, sometimes three times a week, due to my boyfriend loving their food. I pretty much stick to the same dishes, peanut butter soup, and egusi, but I've tried so many. Today I had potato leaf soup. It was somewhat bland compared to my favorite peanut butter, but maybe I'm biased. If you're looking for something full of flavor and very feeling, I suggest the peanut butter soup. It's like a savory soup with a hint of peanut butter flavor. My boyfriend loves their Cassava Leaf and Okra soup. I've tried the okra soup, and it's pretty good. I just can't do the slime, lol. If you sit at the bar, ask for K. He's a fantastic bartender/waiter. On the weekend, it tends to be a bit loud due to the live music, but it's always a vibe.

Yelp
Super suya is alway my favorite. They have gotten better with the beef selection. It use to be mostly fat. Moi moi was a little different then usual.Prices have slightly increased but worth it . This authentic Nigerian food. The waitress are always slow bringing items but they are nice and apologetic One this that I was confused about is the side of stock fish I ordered for take away. The waitress said it came with three small pieces. Unfortunately I got one one piece of stock fish for $15. This restaurant can definitely do a renovation. Maybe with the price increase we will see some changes

Yelp
I'm an American who lived in Nigeria for 5 years of my childhood. The country and everything about it impressed me so that I kept in my memory the sites and smells of great food. Among my favorites were Egusi soup, Bitter leaf , moi moi, gari, ground nut soup, & okra soup. Today, I revisited those wonderful memories through the tastes from Ike's Cafe & Grill. I ordered the Egusi Soup, moi moi, pounded yam, and gari. I was not disappointed. It took me back to my childhood. The only thing that wasn't good was that the gari is given to you uncooked, so you have to make it yourself. But, with the hotel microwave, I managed. I will definitely order from Ike's again. Thank you for taking me back to my childhood in Nigeria.

Yelp
I tried the beef suya. It was extremely tough and dry. It was impossibly chewy....like leather. Very disappointed. This was my first and last visit.

Yelp
Authentic and delicious! The restaurant was beautiful with a great vibe. I would definitely come back again.

Yelp
I must say for my second time eating West African food Ike's was truly the best! The atmosphere was everything. They had a live band, people were dancing! It was lit. The food was soooooo good. The beef Suya, Jollof rice, and plantain was amazing never had beef tats so good. I def recommend anyone who is looking for a new experience to try this place. Def go on the weekend to see that band!

Yelp
Not only was the food great! But the atmosphere was very vibrant. It's a cultural place it's always an awesome time to be around my people.

Yelp
I haven't been to Ike's in a few years. It was nice to see they were still up and running during covid. I was able to call ahead of time and put in my order. Location: They are located inside of a plaza so parking is ample. Customer service: Pat I believe her name was answered the phone and was sooooo awesome! I haven't talked to someone who was excited about serving a customer In so long it was definitely refreshing! She knew her menu, gave great suggestions, and I knew what to expect when I arrived. Atmosphere: this place is usually packed with Caribbean's and African decent so if you enjoy good music and good food this is your place. However, due to covid - it appeared that only the outside was available for eating. The staff had one masks, sanitizer was around and I believe some had on gloves so they were taking the proper safety precautions for business and I appreciated it! Food is fairly priced and I enjoy eating. Because of the experience I would say definitely a 5 star. The only down fall was that I eat a lot of african food and the actual food taste was different than I've been accustomed to. The mackerel was top tier! So yummy - I love it with the sauces. The Suya wasn't as spicy so was a little disappointed. The rice and stew sauce also wasn't as spicy and flavorful as I'm use to but Definitely would get again

Yelp
Ok so Here's the thing, been here before years in the past wayyyyy before the pandemic and sat outdoors with friends before but it's been a while, so things are different. Went with my sister for a bday celebration just something simple to do, sit at the bar order some apps and vibe. First off upon entering there is no such host to greet you, we politely just headed to the bar and found ourselves some seats. There is absolutely no menu present (after covid may be a cause), but no one even suggested that we use our phones to scan the menu.... any who after waiting and waiting with no server or bartender attending to us we finally saw to scan the menu. Mind you we are at the bar! not even a drink speciality menu to chose from.... so my sister say she normally gets the happy hour specials (whatever that is). we i ordered from the top of my head tequila sunrise (sub orange for pineapple).... it was good maybe a little too good (like no alcohol was in it). The bartender slash server was very unattentive we had to chase him down to get a drink made and even talked the the manager about him making it. any way an order of suya (trio) and coconut shrimp plus 4 tequila sunrise was 98.07. the experience was definitely nothing to be excited about....

Yelp
Food is always good. This restaurant definitely need a remodel. The cushions in the booth that we sat in were broken and kept sliding. The server acted like he fixed it but we kept sliding and he refused to me us as there were other tables available. The service was very slow this day. I will definitely be ordering to go the until the owner realizes the restaurant should be remodeled!

Yelp
I absolutely love everything about Ike's Cafe and Grill: the food, the service, the authenticity. I always get the Egusi soup with chicken because I'm in love with the flavors. The size is more than I can eat at one time so I take the rest home; even the next day it's still delicious.
