Ike's Love & Sandwiches

I order the same sandwich sometimes it’s good and sometimes they put no effort into it. My sandwich today was disappointing and thin with barely any filling. $20 for all bread!!

Usually love Ike’s but this is the worst one I’ve ever been to. Walked in and smelled like sewage, waited 15min for someone to appear at the counter to take my order (just heard two people in the back chatting the whole time), then went to eat my sandwich and it was more bread than meat 😭 literally one slice of meat (got the Matt Cain). Also hardly any lettuce and only only a single slice of tomato for the whole sandwich??? And paid $21.36 for this experience🤣 Crazy how quality could drop so much especially with such a small chain.

Finally! It’s here!! Love this place. As usual, very friendly employees with smiles and our sandwiches were made fast and accurate. They could’ve used a bit more meat. Other locations loaded it up but it was too light this time. That said, this has instantly hit the meal rotation for me. Loads of parking in the lot. Lots of seating. Good music playing tonight too.

This sandwich spot is clean and staff are friendly. Ordered for a work luncheon and had to wait 10 minutes past the pick up time. Items on menu in house have more of a variety then online! They DO have gluten-free bread which is nice!

The price for the quality just isn't there and the bread tastes old. I expect this from a Safeway or 7-11 sandwich for $6, but not from a sandwich spot and for $20. Where's the chicken in this sandwich? I realized after why I only come here once a year instead of once a week like I used to.

Love the sandwiches here. Like the atmosphere too. Prices are worth it. First time here and surely will be back.

I like the veggie sandwhiches, you may as well. Service was exceptional for fast food. Ambiance is colorful, uplifting, clean, spacious and homey.

If you download the Ike's rewards app you get a free sandwich during your birthday month. I got the vegan Mitch the Rock Rickmond, one of the limited time collabs for March. It was basically the vegan meatless mike but with mushrooms and avocado added, and it was soooo good. Ike's always kills it with the vegan options! This location is great and packs the sandwiches full, unlike some other Ike's locations I've tried.

I really wanted to try this spot. Their spread was really good and the bread was good. I ordered the fake bacon sandwich. I wish I didn't. It was the MorningStar bacon but they put it on right out of the package. I know because I've bought this bacon before it wasn't crispy. It was just that raw bacon right out of the package. There was no lettuce. There's like a sprinkle of lettuce and the tomato slices. Thank goodness I asked to add onion and pickles. Otherwise it would've just been a tiny sprinkle of shredded lettuce a slice of melted cheese because I took the uncooked bacon off, who wants that. Really disappointed I have to tell you. It was not worth the money. The lettuce didn't even cover the whole sandwich. You could see the bread through the lettuce. It was literally a sprinkle of lettuce. I bought a bag of chips, salt, and vinegar chips and I added it to the sandwich because it was just a slice of melted cheese two thin slices of tomato and no lettuce and raw fake bacon. I don't know if it's because I went close to closing time just so bizarre.

Smaller location great to take to go. Very little seating. Staff was super nice and quick. Sandwiches were excellent Ike's quality that we are used to. I had an I Wish I Was a Little Bit Taller on Dutch Crunch and my husband had an Adam Richman on wheat. Both are great options, but I recommend the Dutch crunch for most people. Glad the Salinas location has it together because Monterey is really hitting or miss. We will definitely be back!

[Food] to-go order - 301. Handsome Owl ($14.25): Vegan Chicken, Teriyaki, Wasabi Mayo, Swiss. Got this in the Dutch crunch bread and was super tasty! Although I do have to say I do enjoy the sauces in the other sandwiches a little more. - 111. Menage A Trois ($14.25): Halal Chicken, Honey Mustard, BBQ Sauce, Real Honey, Pepper Jack, Swiss, Cheddar, Lettuce, Tomatoes, with dirty sauce. Paired with the Dutch Crunch, this was delicious! It's tangy, savory, and filling. I'd say this is one of my favorites. [Service] - Fast, friendly, helpful [Overall] - One of my go to spots for sandwiches! - I have had a few other sandwiches here before but with so many items on their menu I can't seem to remember which ones I've tried haha

We've been to many Ike's locations over the years. This was our first visit to the Rengstorff one. My favorite is the Jeanette Pohlen. The one I got here was the smallest I've ever received anywhere. They really skimped on the meat. For $18, I was really disappointed. We'll continue to go to Ike's on a regular basis, but not to this one.

Went there for late evening bite and got in just few minutes before closing. Was nice to have them around. Service was quick and pleasant. Not very attentive, but it was late in the evening. They had a lot of vegan options and that mattered to me. Got a big sandwich and it was filling! Everything seems fresh and well. It tasted good. I like less bread and more filling personally. There was a lot of bread there.

Great sandwiches, cashier was awesome; service was kind, and the ambiance was nice; not many people or crowded. A good small location if you need a quick bite

** Solid tasting sandwiches but as other reviews suggest they seem to skimp on portions. Would give 3.5 stars if it were possible but will skew towards 3 over 4 for this location. Ike's as a chain has been a favorite sandwich spot for me over the years in the Bay Area. However, during my last visit here, it seemed like the portions for these sandwiches haven't been the best. In the past at other locations, the sandwiches seemed a lot more full. Here, it seemed like it was mostly bread with just a tiny bit of meat and lettuce. Not exactly the best ratio of bread to filling I'd like. Not sure how much of it is location specific or cutting costs or both. The taste was the same as I remembered from the various locations I've tried, but for some reason it just felt like it was lacking substance. For ~$15 a sandwich, I wish it came with more. Understandably meat is the priciest ingredient but even the lettuce portions were not much at all. For whatever reason, it seems like some of the sandwiches at the Palo Alto location like Andrew Luck aren't on the menu here. The Matt Cain and Menage A Trois over Dutch crutch are usually my go to picks. The Matt Cain has good flavor but tends to be a bit salty and heavy while the Menage A Trois is lighter with chicken and slightly sweeter. Overall has potential but don't think I'd want to return given the increasing price with smaller portions.

Was in the area and saw they had an Ike's so for sure I had to drop by. I don't live by one so whenever I see one I have to go and I have to get the Adam Richman. For those who don't know he's the guy from "man vs food" where he tries food challenges. This sandwich I get it with a sourdough with red onions and jalapeños. The reason why it's so good is the bread. I haven't had this this style of bread anywhere else. The number 201. Sandwich has fried chicken (tender as heck), pesto, swiss cheese, and ham. They brush some honey on the bread to get it the sweet and savory bite. This place also has a good vegan option, gluten free bread, and sf sour dough. The store itself is huge with plenty of seating and even fruity tea blends. Got to it a try!

This may fast become one of my favorite locations! If you come in during lunch time, see Dylan & ask for the Yelp special...thank me later!

If you love Ike's don't come to this one. They only have weird sandwiches on the menu and the service is not great. The sandwich was the smallest Iv ever had at an Ike's and the lady said that the two pieces of pastrami was what it was supposed to have. Smh.

My first time eating at Ike's and the service was great. The cashier was very patient as I looked through all the options. I loved all the creative sandwiches. The interior was clean and had tables to eat a quick lunch. Fun variety of drinks to choose from including organic lemonade and iced tea from Tractor that i could make a quick Arnold Palmer. I got the Damon Bruce sandwich- steak and onion rings with steak sauce on sour dough. Sandwich was huge and smelled delicious. It was warm and very garlicky which was great: I'll definitely be back.

I don't understand why this place doesn't have more reviews. Ike's is great! We all have a favorite sandwich (mine is Mozzarella's Big Cheese) and they'll build you whatever you want. Bread is great, sauce is great, everything is great. Love the voodoo chips too.

Sandwiches are fine but beware some prices on the board are out of date (chips and combo) and employee just shrugged it off quite rudely

Customer service was fine since my order was ready when I got there to pick up. The two employees greeted me upon entering and were super kind. My sandwich was fresh but I don't know what it is about the dutch crunch here compared to other locations but it doesn't taste the same nor is the consistency or thickness of the bread what I'm used to. Two hours after having purchased my time-travelers wife sandwich, the entire sandwich was way too soggy to consume. I might have to just change up my bread option but other than that, with customer service like that, Ill be coming back for sure.

I love Ike's so much, and the staff here was extra kind and helpful. I got a Hunter Pence and it was delicious, the bread solid, the sauces great, the toppings fresh and tasty. A great highlight to the middle of my workday, and an easy quick food pick up.

My favorite sandwich spot! The reading rainbow is the best one. They also carry the guava jaritos which I can't find anywhere, so I'm a happy camper.

This is one of the best Ike's because it is clean and the people are nice and outgoing. It is not clear that it has the vast variety of sandwiches that others do, but it makes up for it in quality. I wish there was standardization around Ike's to be more like this! Nice job Mountain View Ike's!

Underwhelming for a $15 bucks sandwich - tried their GF bread which is smaller than the regular options so less fillings seem to be placed in it. I wanted a vegan sandwich with no fake meats =- so I got two teeny thin sliced tomatoes, a few whispy pieces of red onion, three slices of pickles, shredded lettuce which mostly falls out when you take a bite and some mashed avocado - and vegan dirty sauce. Ratio of fillings to bread was lacking and I left sad. The folks there were friendly - person who took my order did offer to add vegan cheese and I agreed to have it = but it was not added.... A bit slow on getting your sandwich but it they took more care to make it - I'm totally fine with waiting.

Visit: 5/1/2021 Came here with Cindy and Annie for a weekend lunch catch up! Check in on Yelp for a free bag of chips! I think this is my second time coming to an Ike's - I love the vibes, the menu options (why does everything look so good!), and the staff are super nice. I would come here again if I get tired of chicken bakes from Costco next door! LOL. Parking: plentiful - it'll just be packed from Costco, but the other half is usually okay.

For the longest time I had been making my way out to Sunnyvale or back to Palo Alto for a sandwich when I was in the Mountain View area. Those were the only places I knew were close by. Then I found this branch! Conveniently located next to the Costco in Mountain View, this branch of Ike's is nestled in the haven of shops next to Highway 101. There is plenty of parking even if you have to park a ways away to get a space, but that's not such a bad thing. Upon entering the shop, I was greeted with hellos and sent off with thank yous when I left. I love that. Their service was top notch and the sandwiches were no less quality. I love Ike's and I love that this is there now for those who frequent or live in the Mountain View area.

My go-to place for sandwiches. The food is always fresh and delicious. The store is clean and tidy. The manager, Dylan, is as nice as can be. I've been here a few times and everything I've had has been great. The Matt Cain is my favorite, but Hunter Pence, Wonder Woman, and Going Home for Thanksgiving were all delicious as well. Be sure to get it on Dutch Crunch with the dirty sauce.

Great service, prices are steep, but what isn't in the bay area. Sandwich was more sauce and bread than actual ingredients. While it all tasted good didn't feel worth the price.

This outlet is on par with others we have visited in the Bay Area in terms of preparation and portions. Kind of bummed that they don't offer a free bag of chips with a Yelp check on like others do.

Can never go wrong when wanting great sandwiches for lunch! Always prefer Ike's for lunch and this location is better than others. Employees were friendly and greeted me right when I walked through the door. And this Ike's is spacious not like other locations and the vintage lunch boxes on the walls give it a nice touch! Definitely recommend this spot!

Food here was amazing!!! I came during rush hour and surprisingly Fast service !! Clean tables and perfectly AC. Definitely my favorite Ike's . If you're in Mountain View and want a fire Sandwich this is the place to go!

Really good sandwiches with some halal options in the chicken range. Get them with the Dutch bread which is crispy with a hint of sweetness. Recommend the following: - Silicon Valley: milder spice, with creamy artichoke and other veggies. - we are just friends: with chicken, zesty orange glaze and avocado as well as other veggies. Huge portion sizes.

I've always liked coming here! All staff members are very helpful and give their opinion and advice as to what's good on the menu if you're willing to try new things! One specific team member, I can't remember his name but he helped me out today and was friendly and helpful because I wanted to try something new and I took his word for it and is now my new order when I come here!

Even though I'm no longer vegetarian, I will always come here for the Handsome Owl. So good.

Young lady working today in the morning was the sweetest and very welcoming. I brought my daughter here for the first time, cashier was so sweet and helped us pick out exactly what we needed. We came during a busy time. I realized cashier was by herself and she did an amazing job, she is a very fast worker as well our food was ready in less then 2 minutes. I believe her name was Anne. I will be back here more often. Great customer service!

My first memory of Ikes is from 5yrs back when we ordered it for a lunch meeting at work. Back then the Mountain View and Sunnyvale location didn't exist so never got a chance to order again. So, when I finally found out that they opened a location in Mountain View, I had to try it. And while they've been around in this location for a couple years now, I only got to try it few weeks back. I was able to order online and pick up the sandwiches at the scheduled time. They also gave a lollypop with each sandwich. Everyone at the store were practicing safety protocols and limiting less than 5 people inside. I got 3 sandwiches - Meatless Mike for me and Menage a trots, Cheesestake sandwiches for others in my family. Sandwiches are bit on the pricier end, however they all tasted great. The dutch crunch roll makes it extra crispy. I had the meatless mike sandwich which is the vegan version of Meatball marinara. I hadn't eaten a meatball sandwich since I stopped eating meat 4yrs ago and this was close enough to satisfy my meatball cravings. They do have quite a good number of vegan and vegetarian sandwiches. Only thing I found a bit disappointing was the sandwich size seemed smaller than when I had tried last. I usually can only eat one-half for a meal but I had no problems finishing the whole sandwich this time. I hope they are not cutting down on the portions. Other than that, this place is great, the sandwiches won't disappoint you.

I don't like the quality of the deli meat used. It reminded me of the prepackaged grocery store brands like Oscar Meyer. The French bread was good.

Excellent sandwiches and vegan if you want. The staff is super friendly. There are lots of drinks like Red Bull. The taste of the sandwiches is really great and with care. You can get vegetarian if you want or meat. They have Cranberry too.

Showed up at right at 8:15 tonight (9/10/23) for sandwiches. Sign on the door says they close at 9:00. Website says they close at 9:00. Google says they close at 9:00. However the door was locked; a single customer was inside still eating. The one guy working came to the door and motioned us in and I assumed that he was going to serve us after all. Instead all he wanted to do was show us that he had already cleaned the sandwich toaster thingy. That's it--no food, no apology--just showing off his clean toaster. And I guess it couldn't have been all that long ago that he cleaned it if someone was still in there eating--and you really wonder how long to would have taken him to clean it again and how dirty it would have gotten. I mean yeah that would suck, but you're the one saying you are open until 9:00. Maybe wait until after you close before cleaning the sandwich toaster if you don't want this to happen. Or, if you want to close at 7:00 on Sunday nights because it's slow--fine just change your hours. No issue. No love (or even simple courtesy) here.

LOVE this Ike's!! Staff so friendly, nice lighted and spacious seating area, delicious sandwiches, and in a convenient plaza! Much better than some Ike's dungeon locations! Will keep coming here!

amazing store, incredible food, outstanding employees! i was helped by a girl named Meghan today and she was very helpful and knowledgeable. she said she had just started working there recently so i was very impressed by her knowledge. i've been ordering ike's online for a long time largely because of their great vegetarian and vegan options but megan's service today ensured that i will be coming back. plenty of seating and cheerful decor. 15/10 experience!!

Loveeeee the Pee Wee (vegetarian) first time having it so I hope it continue to meet if not exceed my (high) expectations. The sourdough is just perfect, tastes very fresh and not stale or over toasted, just right. Sauce is amazing, it's a French dressing apparently. Vegan turkey is soooo good better than the mediocre "tofurkey" found at Safeway. The purple cabbage added nice crunch and the Swiss cheese I didn't taste. If your not a picky eater yes get pickles and lettuce plus tomatoes! Only thing is it would be nice to have vegan cheese, I would have gotten it just couldn't find it on the menu.

Paid for two $15 sandwiches and the workers got the entire order wrong. I didn't think I'd have to check the sandwiches before leaving, and there's no way I can make it back to the store for them to correct it. I've been trying to call Ike's to see how they can make it right but they don't pick up their phone. I don't know if Ike's doesn't pay their workers enough to care or if they simply don't read the order. If the manager is reading this, I would love to speak with him/her.

I came to this Ikes, initially wanting the Pho place next door, I mean duh it's cold out. However I didn't know they were closed on Wednesdays. So I'm like "well I do love me some Ike's" BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT EVER!!!! I've been to Ikes plenty of times (never this location) my main spot is IKES- San Jose (THE PLANT) I ALWAYS get the same thing MADDISON BUMGARNER, on Dutch crunch bread, so that's what I ordered here, I even asked for extra Habanero sauce, because I love me some spice! I ordered to go, because I just wanted to sit in my car, so I open my sandwich very excited and the bread was not it, it seemed old, and not the typical bread texture it should be. Bite after bite I'm getting more disappointed, as there seemed to be no SPICE at all, Not even the usual spice, let alone the fact that I asked for extra SPICE. The bread was just throwing me off... AND I, A VERY HUNGRY GAL ON MY LUNCH EVEN CONTEMPLATED NOT EATING THE OTHER HALF! ( GASP) ME, NOT EAT MY WHOLE SANDWICH? WHAT AN OUTRAGE, I ALWAYS FINISH MY FOOD! Welp here's a first folks, I did not enjoy my sandwich, but also couldn't bare the fact of wasting an entire half of sandwich by tossing it, (that would have also been the equivalent of tossing $7.00 in the trash) (give or take half the price) so I simply ate the insides, which were not anything but ordinary! MY MAIN POINTS IS THAT IKES IS DELISH, JUST NOT THIS ONE! I WOULD NOT COME BACK SPECIFICALLY TO THIS LOCATION (which bites because it's the closest to me) THE ONLY THING ILL BE ENJOYING ON MY WAY BACK TO WORK IS MY CARAMEL APPLE LOLLIPOP! PS. Not be be mean but the napkins smelled weird, kinda like a wet floor fragrance.....super weird.

Megan Sage served me today. WOW! What an amazing experience. The sandwhich was warm, crunchy, delicious, and so much more than I could've ever imagined. I will come back to Ikes very soon. Such a positive and uplifting employee.
