Amazing sandwich! Fresh ingredients, perfectly toasted bread, and the staff was super kind. Highly recommend - this place knows how to make a proper sandwich in SF!

May 2025: Ordered a Dan Ashley which is a turkey avocado 🥑 and provolone cheese sandwich with some light godfather sauce. Was probably my favorite sandwich so far here. Dutch crunch roll was nicely toasted! Thank you Ikes crew for making a tasty 😋 sandwich. (2112) June 2024: Tried the tuna sandwich with avocado and cheese (chipper?) on a Dutch crunch roll. There were probably fifty options on the board. I enjoyed my sandwich. Portion was quite big. I was hungry and I almost couldn't finish it. Service was friendly. This place is currently under a soft opening and their grand opening is July 19th. Will definitely be back for more delicious sandwiches.

My first time at Ike‘s sandwiches and I will definitely be going back. I am overjoyed at the quality and quantity of vegetarian choices. I had turkey and cranberry on sourdough and it was absolutely delicious.

Great sandwiches and very filling. The size was larger that expected. Good quality 👌🏾

Google
Can you find better sandwiches than Ike's anywhere on the planet? No, no you cannot. Not even joking. I've been eating at Ike's since before the world was supposed to end back in Twenty-12. All up and down The Bay. Not one single time have I ever been disappointed. The sandwich magic levels are higher here than you can find anywhere...

Google
The best “soft opening” ever. I got a $3 coupon and a combo meal. The sandwich was mouthwatering. Free chips and drink is always a plus. Welcome to the neighborhood.

Last night after the game we went to eat here the food is amazing and so delicious. So many choices but we asked the server what was good so he picked #242 and 524 I have never tried this Dutch crunch bread so delicious. I will definitely be back thank you for a wonderful experience and the service was great

Google
New Location just opened up in the mission bay/mission rock area. Has been a while since I’ve been to Ike’s and the menu looked like they had a few new options that didn’t remember being on there(burger and a lobster salad sandwich). I had to go for the lobster salad and I was not disappointed. This lobster salad sandwhich is one of my new favorites. Pull up to Ike’s get ya sandwich fix!

Yelp
New-ish Ike's opened near the Giants stadium. Bright and clean interior. The sandwhiches were good. I got the vegansaurus and it had a lot more lettuce than actual main ingredients like mushrooms. Price wise, average prices at $14-15 per sandwhich. I ordered via the app for a 5 pm pickup. Once walking in, no one was in the front area. Then walked over to the online pickup area and still wasn't greeted by any staff. I informed the worker I was picking up and it was already ready. The guy just nods. I get that it was a slow time in the day where only another customer was in the store. But customer service can be a bit better.

Yelp
ike's dutch crunch are always fire. the portions are huge and the sandwiches aren't too dry or soggy. I liked the matt cain world championship edition better than the simple pleasures because the former had avocadoes, fried mozzarella sticks, onion rings, and 3 types of meats. but the latter was also unique with fried zucchini and a burger patty. overall, an extremely substantial meal. you should sign up for ike's rewards to get your first sandwich and a birthday sandwich free!

Yelp
Came to Ike's grand opening for this location, which is the 100th! The line was expectedly all the way down the block and took 2 hours to get through, but the team was super professional and they definitely provided free sandwiches for more than just the first 100 of us that showed up. The store is at the corner of the new mission rock space, and is super bright and open thanks to the tall windows. I've been going to different Ike's locations for years, and its always a great way to enjoy a delicious burger for two meals because they're always enormous. Took this opoprtunity to try two versions of sandwiches I havent tried yet; the Matt Cain and Madison Bumgarner, both the World Championship Editions. I think the Madison Bumgarner was my favorite of the two, as the BBQ sauce really brought everything together and the purple cabbage slaw provided the extra veggie that I needed to balance it. The Matt Cain comes with fried onion rings and mozzarella sticks, which ended up being just a bit too much in addition to all the meat that it usually comes with, but still a delicious sandwich! Congrats to Ike and his team, and I haooy I can add this to my list of options of Ike's locations in the city!

Yelp
Yesterday was the grand opening of Ike's 100th store, & it just so happened to be within walking distance of my work! So of course I decided I needed to check it out because it's for sure going to be somewhere I frequent during my lunch break. As to be expected, the line was out the door & continued to grow in size as time went on. But once it was time to order, it only took about 10 minutes to get my sandwiches. I was grateful they had so many people working the kitchen, & was only a tiny bit late back to work. The staff was very efficient & friendly, & made the whole process run smoothly. Since they were running a limited time deal on sandwiches, selling them half off, I grabbed two sandwiches, one for me & one for my loved one. & it only cost me $17 for both of them! I got the "Helen Keller" but made it vegan, & it may be my new favorite sandwich there! It came with: Vegan Steak, BBQ Sauce, Beer-Battered Onion Rings, & vegan American cheese, all on sourdough. Then I added jalapeños for some extra spice. It was absolutely delicious! (They have amazing Dutch Crunch, too!) Thank you, Ike, for bringing your delicious sandwiches to another prime location!!

Yelp
I gotta say now that ikes has opened up ive become dangerously reliant on their amazing sandwiches. The staff have been amazing and made some really good custom sandwiches for me. As a heads up it gets super windy over there but you can walk over to china basin park and enjoy the sun while eating your sandwich!

Yelp
grubhubedd the 'Vegan Tom' sandwich. Overall a 6.5/10! nothing amazing (def could've used some more salt lol). Will definitely try this place again

Yelp
We recently ordered Ike's through DoorDash and tried the Matt Cain sandwich. The flavors were fantastic, with the Italian meats and Dutch Crunch bread providing a satisfying crunch. The sauce complemented the sandwich perfectly, making each bite enjoyable. The delivery was timely, and everything arrived fresh. The only reason for four stars instead of five is that I would have loved a bit more sauce. Overall, a great experience, and I'll be ordering again!

Yelp
The problem with Ike's, is there's too many options. Even the employees making the sandwiches get confused on a non busy almost empty day. I had asked for extra lettuce and pickles. What I got was the complete opposite, barely any lettuce and one pickle! I mean, come on Ike. How hard is it to order additions and massively f-up!?! Nobody likes to get something they didn't order. My fault for not checking my Sammie before we left. Ugh.

Yelp
SO SO happy this new Ike's has a home in Mission Bay! Whenever I come to visit my mom who lives nearby, I've grabbed a sandwich each time since opening. Big fan since I was a college gal and have been to many locations, SJ/SC, LA, Sac and when they had a short stint in Stockton. This one is no different! You've gotta get a menage trois on dutch crutch with pickles and onions PLUS a bag of voodoo chips is a match made in heaven. It's a favorite for a reason. Staff is fast and friendly, last visit was an hour before closing with 2 members and they still hustled. Space itself is a bit small but love looking at all those pics with Ike while waiting. Great place to grab a quick bite, can't wait until my next visit!

Yelp
So excited for this new Ike's location. Super convenient if you are heading to a ballgame or to a Chase Center event. The app is super helpful as you can order and set your pick up time. I was super happy to stroll in, grab my sandwich and head right out. Ike's has amazing sandwiches and Mission Bay desperately needs more food and beverage options. Nice spot. Highly recommend!

Yelp
So I am glad to see Ike's move into Mission Bay. Now that they are close by I will try and stop on by. There was Baseball Game today so I made sure to wait well over an hour prior to start my order, there were maybe 4-5 people waiting after 2:10 pm. When I made my order I asked how long the wait should be as I rather go for a walk than wait inside with people and I was told 10 minutes and I did not believe that and I stated I will be back in 15-20 minutes. I get back after 15 minutes and waited another 10 minutes before I asked about my order, so I believe I was extremely patient. After waiting another couple of minutes I see the person checking Tickets and I am then told that they forgot to start my order and should be another 5 minutes. I get no Apology or take a Drink on us or chips. I would not have not even taken the Chips as I do not like Chips but the gesture would have went a long way to acknowledge the error and my time. Maybe I give the chips to another patron or homeless person. I guess Customer Service is dead. All in all I waited over 30 minutes for a Sandwich? I recommend to pre order especially if your on Lunch and coming from UCSF and you only have 30-40 minutes for Lunch. I will say their price point for most sandwiches were good. One Sandwich had barely any marinara sauce when it was the main ingredient and missing another ingredient, I confirmed the ingredients for that sandwich but I can't invest another 10 minutes into this escapade and complain. Not sure if the Dutch Crunch was Dry from heating or just stale but it kind had not taste or flavor and that is the importance of the sauces in all honesty. The other Sandwich was ok, same issue with the Bread. So waited over 30 minutes for them to make a half assed sandwich? Yay!

Yelp
I walked into Ike's and was immediately hit with a horrible stench. Turns out, a homeless man was just hanging out inside, with the staff clearly aware and unbothered. This is a sandwich shop, not a shelter. I understand compassion, but allowing someone to stink up the place ruins the experience for paying customers. At $24 a sandwich, I shouldn't lose my appetite because the place reeks of piss. My mistake was having the worker complete the sandwich instead of just asking for a refund then and there. I hesitated to ask for a refund out of pity, but now I see why the place was empty. Wokeness has its limits--this was my first and last visit. I think I'll just contact my card issuer and explain all this because I really want my money back for even having to put up with that.

Yelp
Great to to finally see this open, both for Giants, Warriors, and Valkyries games! Tried it yesterday using the app after I saw the line going out the door. But the real test will be on 6/24 when the Giants come back from the road.

Eric E.

Yelp
Sandwiches are always a hit! I confused my own order but the workers gladly helped me out and made sure everything was right and to my satisfaction.

Yelp
Update - I gave this location another chance and I'm happy to report that they seemed to have made strides in improving the workflow. Today I saw a manager floating between the work stations making sure the staff had what they needed. It seemed to improve the efficiency. Coupled with the more realistic wait time for online orders, I was able to pick up my sandwich at the promised time, and it was tasty and made correctly. I'll be happy to come back for lunch whenever I feel like getting a sandwich.

Yelp
I was walking past on my way to a meeting and I saw that they had a strawberry dragon fruit drink. I had to stop in and try it. It was so good! I definitely recommend checking this place out. Everyone is so friendly and the service was amazing.

Yelp
I have been here 3 times and each time there has been major issues with my order. The first time was during their soft opening and they made me the wrong sandwich, I chalked this up to them still learning and figuring it out. The second 2 times they completely forgot part of my order. I understand they are new and still working through kinks but forgetting entire sandwiches is crazy.

Yelp
The manager came out and warmly greeted me and the counter staff was super friendly. Personal touches like stellar customer service go a long way and I'm glad I opted to eat at Ike's today!

Yelp
I go to this sandwich shop a lot. It's close to work, a friendly atmosphere, and GREAT sandwiches. Today's experience was less than stellar, though. I have a half-hour lunch. I can usually order, eat 1/2 my sandwich, and still get back to work on time. I wanted to use my $10 gift certificate today. The cashier was very new. He had trouble understanding my order and couldn't figure out how to apply the gift certificate. I finally asked for the gift certificate back and said I'd use it another time. It was taking too long. There were only 2 people making sandwiches, and apparently, there was a large order ahead of mine. I waited about 15 minutes and still didn't have my sandwich. There was another person there, and I got their attention. I told them I needed to leave. They said they'd make my sandwich right away. There was still a little backlog from the large order, so I still had to wait. They could tell I was fuming and gave me a free bag of chips. I never got one bite of the sandwich until I got home after work. I barely made it back to work on time. The store was definitely understaffed. There should have been at least 3 people making sandwiches and 2 on the register today.

Yelp
I am so excited that they opened this location, near my work. My go to is Ike's Reuben. But now that they're here, I'm going to branch out. Had the Jeries' Big Meat today, and wow!...they really packed it! Soooo good! The staff are amazing. So friendly. Love Ike's!

Yelp
I am beyond disappointed in my recent experience at this Ike's location in Mission Bay. On 10/26/24, I placed an order through Ike's app for two Jim Rome sandwiches. Upon arrival, there was an excessive wait primarily due to the disorganization of the staff. There were two employees making sandwiches who seemed confused and were extremely slow. There was no sense of urgency as the lines kept growing. I finally received my order 30 mins after the scheduled "ready for pick up" time, Once I arrived at home, I ate the first half of the sandwich and was disappointed that it didn't taste as fresh as my previous experiences with Ike's. I proceeded to eat the second half, hoping it would satisfy me more than the first. I was about 90% into eating the second half of the sandwich when I bit into what tasted like a chemical/bleach/cleaning substance that formed a horrible taste in my mouth! I immediately knew something was wrong and ran over to the kitchen sink to spit it out and frantically rinse my mouth out. My husband ran over to check on me, as he saw I was distressed. I couldn't even speak as I was concerned about flushing my mouth thoroughly to remove the unknown chemical substance. I then proceeded to brush my teeth and swish my mouth with mouthwash. My husband had only eaten the first half of his sandwich and immediately threw his second half away due to concerns that his sandwich was also contaminated. Needless to say, we both were extremely disappointed and concerned after that experience. Ike's has been one of my favorite restaurants for the past few years. But now I can no longer in good conscience ever eat Ike's again, as I will always recount this experience. I can only assume that some type of cleaning agent was mistakenly mixed into my sandwich during preparation and that it was not intentional. But irregardless of how it happened, it is unacceptable on every level! I am sharing and documenting this experience in case this happened to anyone else and so that other customers are aware.

Simon V.

Yelp
Friendly crew, nice little spot, outdoor tables are a nice touch, the sandwiches are great, had Matt Cain and it rocked. We need more spots in Mission Bay, and Ike's is a good start.

Darius P.

Yelp
Decided to try Ike's and see what the hype was about, Lola the manager at this location explained the menu and things I could add to my sandwich. She was very friendly and nice. Loved how welcoming the environment treated me! Will definitely be coming back, love that they also offer catering services across the Bay Area. 10/10 location.

Richie W.

Yelp
I always love Ike's sandwiches. Ordered on a not busy day at 1:30. Paid extra for avocado but didn't receive avocado in my sandwich. It is difficult to take a sandwich to go and have to open up the wrapping paper just to check if the order is correct. The taste is great though hopefully they can double check the orders.

Mona T.

Yelp
Fun vibe and absolutely delicious Prissy Presley! I can't wait to go back! Highly recommend

Jules B.

Yelp
Ever heard the saying "it's all about the bread" when it comes to sandwiches. I'm a firm believer that GOOD bread/rolls are the beginning of a good sandwich. I got my first Ikes on their "sourdough" bun and it was tasteless and dry with a boring, bad crust. Did not like the bread at all. Didn't like the ham either and there were 1 or 2 slices of see through bacon. I'll bring my own sandwich and save myself $15.99 plus tax and tip.

Luis G.

Yelp
Great service by Lola and theres a positive and a good vibe, the restaurant its very clean and the food is great i would come back for more

Drae F.

Yelp
Restaurant was clean, super friendly crew who were equally as attentive. Got the meatless Mike, don't normally enjoy vegan options but that sandwich vacuumed my soul from my body & showed me euphoria, it was so good!!

Kevin S.

Yelp
Best sandwiches ever!!! and the crew is really friendly. Music is always on point. The spot is really close to the oracle park and you can take your sandwich to the stadium too

Kristen G.

Yelp
I was excited to see that this Ike's location had opened up near me. I ordered two sandwiches online for in store pickup, the Hunter Pence (with lettuce, tomato, and red onion, no cheddar cheese) and Ménage a Trois (with lettuce, pickles, and banana peppers. When I got home we started eating the sandwiches only to realize that the Hunter Pence had no red onion, avocado (comes on the sandwich already) or any cheese (was supposed to have swiss and pepper jack). The Ménage a Trois was also missing all of the cheeses and pickles. I called and they said I could bring my receipt and they would remake the sandwiches. I walked back to the store and got the new sandwiches and when I got home, the remade Hunter Pence was still missing cheese and the Ménage a Trois was missing banana peppers. I unfortunately will not be going back to this location and would not recommend it to a friend.

Melissa C.

Yelp
First time trying Ike's in San Francisco, had a great experience. Customer service was phenomenal, very friendly atmosphere. Loved my sandwich, if you are in the area definitely stop by! 10/10 !! excited for Giant game day food.

Jules P.

Yelp
I have been a fan of ike's for years and this new location is truly beautiful! It is located in downtown San Francisco next to the ballpark and their sandwiches are even allowed inside! Overall my sandwich (Jim Rome) was tasty and prepared pretty quickly, i will deffinently be returning

Adam C.

Yelp
Best sandwiches in town Lola, who is our server was excellent and friendly. She made super easy and efficient

Jess T.

Yelp
Service and ambience is great. I really don't have any complaints about the actual store. Unfortunately, I really disliked the bread they use, Dutch crunch. It almost has a stale texture to it. Wish they had other bread alternatives. I even googled it and there's a whole sub community on Reddit with people who also hate Ike's Dutch crunch bread as much as I did so I know I'm not alone. I hope the business does well tho, it's nice to see that neighborhood becoming alive again.
