San Francisco Sandwich Shop Opens First Texas Location in Austin | Eater Austin

"Opening May 15 as the chain’s first Texas location in the Austin area, this Cedar Park shop is part of a local partnership between founder Ike Shehadeh and former Houston Astros pitcher Mark Appel. The brand is known for a long menu of hot, sauce-drenched sandwiches, and this location debuts three Texas-only sandwiches: the Running Brushy (roast beef, the chain’s barbecue sauce, green chiles, and pepper jack), the Cluck Ranch (a vegetarian take with vegan steak), and a fried chicken sandwich topped with honey, barbecue sauce, honey mustard, and a mix of pepper jack, Swiss, and cheddar. To celebrate the Texas debut, the restaurant is giving away free sandwiches to the first 50 guests on Thursday, May 23 at 10:30 a.m. The rapidly growing chain has over 50 locations across California and Arizona and traces its roots back to its 2007 opening, when it was called Ike’s Place." - Nadia Chaudhury

Google
I was incredibly happy to find this place — they have a lot of vegetarian and vegan sandwich options. The service was great. A very friendly guy in glasses took my order, answered all my questions, and helped me decide what to get. The prices seemed quite reasonable to me. However, I didn’t like the atmosphere inside. The floor and tables were dirty, and the music was not only very loud but also rock, which made it even less relaxing. On top of that, there was a constant humming from the oven. It’s definitely not the kind of place where you’d want to sit and relax — you’ll most likely want to take your food to go. That said, despite some downsides, the sandwiches here are really delicious. I had the vegan fried chicken sandwich, and it was amazing — the sauce was generous and super tasty too.

Google
My family and I dined here yesterday before an event, and it was very pleasant. Ordering the food was easy, although when first seeing the menu, it can be a bit overwhelming. Service was decent, but I asked about one desert on the menu and they had no idea what it was, so sadly I had to substitute. Other than that, the food was done in a timely manner and tasted delicious. The vibe was chill and laid back, perfect for a quick meal. I will definitely be back, kudos to Ike!

Google
Good sandwich place with a wide variety of sandwich options for vegetarians. The sandwich was massive and very filling. I tried the fake chicken and it was flavorless in my opinion (I don't know what real chicken tastes like, so I'll assume that is also flavorless). It felt a little pricey to me for a vegetarian sandwich. The service was decent and the restaurant was very clean. It would be nice if they had a build your own option.

Google
I used to always go to Firehouse until a co-worker recommended Ike's. Man - these are great sandwiches with delicious bread. A lot of food -- no skimping here. The staff is always pleasant and happy to help at this location and so far I have had no trouble finding parking even though in a busy location.

Google
LOVE the sandwiches here. I’m so happy there’s plenty of vegan/vegetarian options too. Most sandwich places that have a veggie option give you like olives and lettuce and that’s not very appealing lMO. I’ve been getting the Los Lovos and it’s so yummy every time! I just wish it was a tad cheaper but it’s so good I can’t really complain even tho I love complaining. Thank you !!! Love u <3

Google
Love them as always. This location is a bit small. I like how their menu is huge and all you have to do is just tell them the number of the sandwich you want. I wish they had one in Georgetown. Also like the quotes on their walls.

Google
So glad I discovered Ike’s!! My husband has celiac, so he can’t have gluten, and I can’t eat dairy for the next couple of weeks. I was so happy to see that not only do they have an “allergy” preparation choice when ordering for my husband, but they also had dairy-free sauces and cheese that I could get on my sandwich. The service was excellent. Everyone behind the counter was smiling and helpful. The food came out quickly and tasted amazing. Can’t wait to share this place with our gluten-free friends and family!

Google
i’ve never heard of ike’s before but i took a chance and y’all it’s pretty dam yummy. i eat vegetarian and vegan when i can - and ike’s has options galore! my partner and i ordered pickup, and it was ready as soon as we pulled up ;) it was so good we went back in to order a third sandwich (maya angelou) for later lmao also to the 2 employees here - didn’t catch y’all’s names, but y’all were both so sweet :) i will say, the names kinda throw me off... especially the pocahontas one......

Yelp
I'm extremely disappointed with the Ike's location in Cedar Park. I signed up for their rewards program back in October and received an email for a free sandwich. Despite visiting the store three or four times and speaking with different managers, no one ever helped me redeem it. The free sandwich never showed up on my account, and I never got to use it. On my last visit, not only was I told the reward was expired (even though I never had a chance to use it), but I was also treated rudely by the manager. I ordered the Da Vinci sandwich with specific instructions: lettuce and tomato only, no Italian dressing, and no spicy ingredients. Instead, my sandwich was made loaded with jalapeños, pepperoncinis, and hot peppers hidden under the cheese-- totally opposite of what I asked for. It felt intentional and disrespectful. My dad was worried they would mess with our food and I said I'm not worried b/c I thought they would be more professional. I way underestimated the maturity of those workers. The sandwich was so spicy I couldn't even eat it. These are expensive sandwiches, and I expected better quality and service. This was honestly one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had at a sandwich shop. I won't be returning to the Cedar Park location --if I ever return to Ike's I'll stick to the Round Rock or North Austin stores instead. Really disappointing experience from a brand I used to love.

Yelp
10/10. Their Dutch Crunch bread is AMAZING. I always get the 201 Adam Richman. Alot of sandwich places that have fried chicken it usually gets soggy and gross by the time you get it to your house to eat but this has never disappointed me. Quick service as well. I've only ever gotten to-go orders via door dash and it still is super fast.

Emma-Leigh P.

Yelp
I could leave zero stars, I would. My boyfriend made an order in advance, about 20 minutes before arriving. He received neither of our beverages (they were rather costly) and had to wait for several minutes while someone else behind him was called up to MAKE ANOTHER ORDER order! I called the restaurant to ask about out drinks, but was only rudely rushed off the phone by the MOD (who answered my call), telling me to call again tomorrow to talk to their GM to make a complaint...and of course, several minutes of waiting ultimately cost the freshness and whatever warmth the sandwiches had to dissolve into a soggy messes. Why couldn't an MOD take a formal complaint??? She was COMPLETELY unhelpful, rude, and disrespectful...she sounded completely uncaring, to be honest. Oh, yeah. This was my first try of Ike's and I feel like my friends lied to me about the great service, food, and efficiency???

Yelp
Best vegan sandwiches, ever! Please make your away up to DFW! I was in town on a work trip, and wanted something filling but not super heavy/fried, etc. A sandwich fit the bill perfectly! Everything from the customer service, the cute and spunky interior and of course the sandwiches were an A+! I tried the Meatless Mike and the Falling for Ike's; both amazing but the meatball sandwich stole the show! Highly recommend. I'll be back next time I'm in town.

Yelp
Terrible experience!! 20$ for a sandwich and a combo deal. The ice machine was not working- so the manger instructed me to "play with it" when I explained it still didn't work- she then came over. A proceeded to bang the ice machine. I asked why not have the ice machine fixed, she gave me a dirty look and walked away with no explanation. ??? Unreal
google avatar

Andrew B. F.

Yelp
What a weird but interesting place. Very wide variety on menu with, unique combos. Worth trying if you've never been to one. Service is friendly and necessarily helpful.

Yelp
Disappointed to leave a low rating since I was looking forward to trying Ike's for the first time. I'm not the biggest sandwich person, but do love the occasional hot sandwich. Potbelly has been a favorite of mine for years, and I looked to try something new based on the stellar reviews. I went with the Ménage a Trois and was pretty disappointed with what I got to be honest. Does Ikes not have lettuce and tomato with their sandwiches? The sandwich was a goopy mess and devoid of the basics and wayyy too saucy for my preference. I needed some type of fresh veggie to cut through the excessive creaminess/sweetness. I really wanted to like this one, but at the cost I can't justify what I got.

Yelp
I am originally from the bay area and first discovered Ike's sandwiches there. It was love at first bite! Once I moved out of Cali I never imagined I would get a chance to eat these sandwiches again but here we are! I was beyond happy when this place first opened up here. if you love sandwiches this is the place for you! They have loads of option, so make sure you check out their website menu before you go to help you narrow down some options. I have been loyal to hot momma huda but today tried name the girl im dating soooo good! Pure sandwich heaven! Ive tried other sandwiches as well and honestly you can't go wrong with any of the choices. They have a spacious area to sit down and eat with a group of people (friends or family). It was clean and every time I've gone there it is never too loud. The cashier working today was super amicable and sweet! There are a lot of stores nearby so the parking lot is always busy and the fact that its a compact area does not help the situation. So you might get lucky and find a spot near the store but most like may have to park a little further and walk. The walk is totally worth it for this sandwich filled with goodness!

Yelp
I love this place but man my sandwich today was tough to eat. Let's just say the second part of my sandwich I had to pass on eating. I found stems and some odd thing in there that I'm pretty grossed out. I hope it's just a one time thing :(
google avatar

Mike R.

Yelp
Fantastic sandwich shop. Many sandwich items on the menu. Vegan & vegetarian friendly. Super friendly staff. The person making my sandwich took his time to make it RIGHT! It was perfect. Make sure to visit!

Kori D.

Yelp
Specifically asked twice for no Caesar dressing. As the guy was bagging my order I asked again "there's no Caesar dressing right?" He replied "no". Came home and it's smothered in it. It's inedible for me. Wasted time. Too late to order from somewhere else. Called the store and the guy that answered is supposedly giving me a refund. We'll see. Hopefully the tip I gave them will be refunded as well. Fully pissed for the fact that I asked multiple times and then was straight LIED to my face. Totally uncool

Yelp
I'm glad I stumbled upon Ike's! I was looking for a new place for veggie sandwiches and saw them on Yelp. I tried the one with eggplant without the pesto and sauces. It was really good. Particularly the bread! I'm funny about sauces so I chose to go without it and can't comment about it. If it had a bit of seasoning on the eggplant and avocado, it would definitely be five stars. I'll be back.

Yelp
The food at Ike's is so good! I love that they have gluten free bread too. It's very good bread and I always get the Hot Mama Huda sandwich
google avatar

Alicia G.

Yelp
The sandwiches here are pretty decent. However there are a few that are super heavy therefore it may end up being two meals lol

Yelp
Ike's is great, whenever we're craving some good Dutch crunch sandwiches we go to Ike's.
google avatar

Jeff B.

Yelp
A nice sandwich shop with some cool and strange names on the menu. I went with my son and we exchanged half of our sandwich so we could try two kinds at one stop. We has #240 Madison Bumgarner and #6 Hot Mama Huda ( or something of that sort). #240 was steak and #6 was chicken. Both sandwiches were very good. There were many different names on the menu to include veggie choices. The ambiance was cool. They had wall art and even lunch pails from around the world (including Japan) attached to the ventilation vents. The place was clean, fast and efficient. Parking isn't great so you might have to walk a little ways, but not miles. The staff seemed happy and ready to assist. So if you are craving fast food and want a sandwich, stop by Ike's and give it a try. I think you will like it, I did!
google avatar

Josh L.

Yelp
I love Ike's! I try to come in here whenever I'm in the area. If you're a vegetarian or vegan, this is the PLACE for great comfort sandwiches like meatball, "chicken" sandwiches, etc. Packed with flavor, & big servings. My wife & I usually each get a sandwich & then split so we get to try a couple different ones. And don't worry meat eaters, they have you covered too.
google avatar

Sasa P.

Yelp
Flavorful sauces, so many options for sandwiches, crispy wonderful Dutch crunch bread, and ability to customize. This was an awesome sandwich. I got the menag a trois with fried eggplant added. It was big enough to last two lunches. This place is amazing for vegetarian options too!
google avatar

Sean M.

Yelp
Unbelievably delicious. This is me and my husband's favorite sandwich shop. And I just learned that they are opening up another one on at the arboretum! So excited. The Dutch crunch bread is a must. My husband is a flexitarian, while I am a full-fledged vegetarian. However, I think my husband is probably eaten more of the vegetarian/vegan sandwiches than the meat ones. There are SO many options. I think the only sandwich I've had twice is the Steve Jobs. Otherwise I'm trying to work my way down the menu, haha. So thankful for places like this that have so many options for meat, eaters and non-meat eaters alike. Definitely give it a try, you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
I've had Ike's before and I actually love this place. The sandwiches are creative and fun. Such a wide variety of sandwiches to choose from "this is surely not your average sandwich shop". I love the fact that they offer Zapps potato chips (since I'm a New Orleans native) it's alway great to have a taste of home. This location was a bit different than the locations I've visited before. I decided on the #9 on sourdough and added red onions. Protein for the sandwich was halal chicken. I actually feel bad stating that this is my only complaint. Reason being, so many place hip you on the guac, and this place just happened to be a little bit to generous on the guac compared to other ingredients of the sandwich. They do offer the double meat option for a up charge which if taken, I would suggest splitting the sandwich with a partner. Overall like I said I love this place and will be back

Adrian S.

Yelp
Ike's has the best vegan sandwich choices and ingredients around, hands-down. Have tried many other places, and some of them are pretty good, but don't compare in quality and taste to these.
google avatar

Crystal R.

Yelp
First time trying Ike's. This rating is on the food. This is one of the most diverse sandwich menus I've seen. Not your normal ham or turkey cold sub. They are all hot sandwiches. I got the hot mama sandwich and added the garlic aioli. There are 2 types of white bread to chose from. There are other options as well. Took the sandwiches to go and they did not get soggy. The cons: there is no inside or outside seating. So we had to go eat in our car. There are no trash cans either. We had dropped the top to one of our cups and had to take it with us because of no trash can and the employees were busy with customers. Also, it's very loud inside so on top of wearing masks, I could barely hear what the cashier was saying and had to speak around the glass shield which defeats the purpose.

Joshua A.

Yelp
Matt Cain is probably the best sandwich ever created. Their service was fast. I ordered for pickup and it was ready 15 minutes before it was supposed to be.

Yelp
TLDR: If you're a vegetarian of any stripe, this is your place! Otherwise, it's a competent but overpriced sandwich shop. Stopped in for lunch with high expectations, given that I've enjoyed multiple California-based chains like Togo's. There are several bread choices but I went their signature classic Dutch Crunch roll. Very nice and light texture, kudos for that and the friendly service. From there on, everything's basically competent but I can't say more beyond that. The store was moderately busy (bit more than half full) but I found myself both wiping down my table and checking my watch waiting for my order. I ordered a 'Menage a Trois', which I'd describe as soft 'flaked' cooked chicken with multiple cheeses and sauce. A whole lot of sauce. So much that I spent a lot of my meal leaning forward to dodge errant drips. Also, I expect any sandwich with honey mustard, bbq sauce, and yet more honey to be sweet. But yikes, was this *sweet*. Even the Dutch Crunch bread has a slightly sweet taste. At the end of the meal, I felt like I needed an additional slice of (non-Dutch Crunch) bread to cleanse the palate. With a total coming close to $15 for the 'wich, a drink, a bag of chips, and a tip taken at the register, I can't quite feel the Ike Love. However, I'm going to give this chain another shot with a less sweet sandwich on the sourdough in the near future. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth a stop, particularly if you want a place with a good selection of vegan options. This place scores a 3 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK being seen eating here by Mother Mary. 3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. Would be OK having a beer here with Jesus' Dad. 2 out of 5 stars: Come-to-the-Apostles good. Meh. Wouldn't have my last supper here. 1 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Nobody good. I wouldn't have my penultimate supper here, either.

Vanessa P.

Yelp
Remy was so helpful and funny when helping me decide on a sandwich to order! The store was also very clean and had lots of options for drinks to get. I am definitely putting Ike's in my rotation of places to eat!
google avatar

Mike P.

Yelp
Very consistent quality friendly service and fair prices! Looking for a variety of options and meatless too give it a try!
google avatar

Yelp
I was apprehensive coming here as I've had my fill of overly-hyped California chains coming to Texas and having crappy food. Yes, I'm talking to you BJ's, In N Out, and Cheesecake Factory. Decide to go early before the movie goers take all the parking spaces. I was greeted by the cashier who asked if it was my first time. Yes. He pointed to the wall with three big pictures of sandwiches ad said these are the ones Ike is known for. What he didn't know is I already was online looking at the nutritional facts. I picked the Michael Jordan (Meatball) for the lower calories, sugars, and sodium. No drink or chips, so I paid and sat. As I was the only one there, the sandwich was ready in no time. grabbed my bag and head on home. What I noticed was a lack of aroma in the car from the sandwich. At home, I put the sandwich on a plate and still no aroma but the sandwich was warm. I worried as I've never had a meatball sandwich that didn't permeate their smell. My first bite and it is not my hometown style meatball sandwich. That's when I stopped and realized I was a Jersey girl, in Texas eating a California meatball sandwich. I could not judge it by New York standards. Dissecting it, I liked the bread, actually I loved the bread. It was the Dutch Crunch. The meatballs were small a little too bready but not bad. Now the sauce... How do I explain this. To me it tasted like a red sauce mixed with mayo, not Italian. But put these all together and it wasn't bad, not typical meatball but tasty. Next time, I think I'll try one of the halal chicken sandwiches or a vegetarian one

Lacy W.

Yelp
The only thing better than the sandwiches were the people working when we came in. Jacob, Andrew and Julia were super friendly, helpful and just generally awesome. We don't live near this location but will make the trip often. Thanks again!
google avatar

john g.

Yelp
The sandwiches are delicious. No doubt about it. The sourdough bread is fantastic. The kids grilled cheese is great. Comes with several types of cheese - your choice and can mix and match I had the Matt Caín which was pretty awesome. Wife had tuna salad which was also good. Free chips for doing a Yelp checkin I would say the place is pretty pricey for a sandwich. $11/12 per sandwich and you are at $15 if you add chips and a drink. When we arrived the person working was jamming out and the music was crazy loud. Could hardly hear yourself think. Later I asked the employee to turn it down and they did. Also, there was a sticky mess all over the floor - it wasn't a small area and looked like someone spilled a sugary drink all over the floor. So food was great but the experience was not welcoming.

Yelp
Ike's seriously has some amazing sandwiches if you're looking to change up your lunch routine! There are so many different varieties of hot sandwiches to choose from. The list is endless. They've even got a lot of vegan options if you're not into meat. Their sandwiches are served on their crunchy Dutch bread (they have other options as well), and they are super filling! My go to orders are the ménage a trois-a must try- and the Wonder Woman. They are a bit pricier in terms of other sandwiches places around, but the portion sizes make up for it. Their menu items are so unique. HUGE bonus-every order comes with the Caramel Candy Apple Lollipops which are one of my favorite candies ever. Each time I've visited, the staff has been extremely friendly and my orders have come out quickly. Will definitely be back to try more options!

Yelp
Omg such a good place Extremely excited to have another California food place out here (it's like a piece of home in Texas) Customer service: very friendly Location: inside a shopping plaza next to a movie theater Parking: no to easy : depending on the time because of the theater Inside : lots of space with seating Menu easy to read n navigate Very clean Prices : about 11$ and up a sandwich but worth it Food: exceptionally good !! I can't wait to go back to try something new but really have been craving the James n the Giant peach (v) since I had it
google avatar

Bill G.

Yelp
Every sandwich I've tried here has been excellent so far. They have a combination of ingredients that work well for each sub. The sandwiches also have unique names. I recently had a sandwich called the Silicon Valley. It has chicken, marinated artichoke hearts, creamy Cesar sauce and provolone. Weird but great tasting. I've also had the Marshawn Lynch sandwich and it's fantastic. I hope this shop stays around because I think of grabbing some food from here every time I'm in the area.
google avatar

George G.

Yelp
I was a little skeptical of this place at first because I had trouble with all the different sandwich names and finding one that I really could compare to somewhere else to see how much I liked it. But, after a few tries of all really good sandwiches, I have to say I can't really compare it to the other sandwich shops because even similar sandwiches taste different at Ike's. It has become my default sandwich shop whenever I want that style sandwich. The bread for me is really tasty and I think the signature sauce really makes it work for me. I only add more veggies as an alteration, so the default setup really works for my tastebuds. Don't get me wrong, the sandwiches don't seem to hold together very well near the end of a carry out meal and my hands can get a little messy, but by that time, I'm enjoying it too much to care. It might have more to do with the fact that it is carry out and not eaten in the restaurant and there is normally a 10-15 minute delay between picking up and eating. But the sandwiches are still hot when I get them home, so it's still pretty great. The only real reason why I am not here for every meal out is the price. It is a little pricier than other sandwich places, but I do feel that it's worth the higher prices. I could get a better deal elsewhere, but the flavors on the sandwiches I have tried here make it worth it when I feel like splurging or someone else is paying. If I'm going for a corporate sponsored meal that I am picking up, it would be Ike's without hesitation. I do look forward to branching out and trying more unique sandwiches on the menu because I have not had a bad sandwich here yet. If I end up finding coupons or deals to Ike's, I apologize to my budget in advance.

Yelp
I love how the sandwiches are just different. Very tasty. Service was excellent. Staff were very nice. I love the lollipop they give you. Overall I'll be back of course.

Yelp
Ike's is amazing great customer service! Staff are always nice and welcoming and the wait time is minimal for a quick bite!

Yelp
I was struggling between 4 and 5 stars, and ended up at 4. Good service by staff and well prepared sandwiches. I got a Michael Jordan meatball with marinara on Dutch bread. My wife got a tuna salad sandwich, and we shared an order of beer battered onion rings. Both sandwiches were well prepared with fresh ingredients. And the onion rings were very good (tasted fresh made). The problem I had is similar to the problem I have with Torchy's Tacos. Well prepared food but using recipes I just don't care for. The Michael Jordan was about the only thing on the menu I was interested in eating. Could just be me and my fussy taste buds. So I do recommend trying the place. But before you come, review the menu first. You never know. Maybe you'll really like the food.

Yelp
Ike's Sandwiches is a very nice establishment. They have a variety of sandwiches for most appetites. The location is very clean, bright and you can watch the sandwiches being made. Unfortunately I did not find one to my satisfaction. In all fairness I only had one sandwich there, the "Michael Cain". This was labeled as an award winning sandwich, but it was not for me. Yet, I did have a great experience. The staff was very nice. I checked in to receive a free bag of chips. The cashier also threw in a free fountain drink. My customer experience is feeling pretty good right about now. So I'm all fairness I will check them out again before I make my "Final Answer". I invite you to check them out for yourself. Yelp
Always delicious! Love the Dutch crunch bread, the little touches with lollipops. The cookies are delicious too. My favorite sandwich is the menagé a trois. Definitely try this place.
google avatar

Anders N.

Yelp
I'm not one for seeking out sandwich places but I wanted to give this place a try since it had such great reviews. I wanted to see what all the hype was about so I ordered via delivery the Elvis Keith, Dutch Crunch with Everything. Order arrived early and was well packaged. Immediately for the price point this is a pretty decently sized sandwich. The consistency of the bread that houses all of the ingredients was great! Toasted and very flavorful. The Halal chicken was tender and the teriyaki combined with the wasabi mayo really made this a stand out. Bonus points for the included caramel apple lollipop. I practically inhaled this sandwich, it was that good! I'll definitely be back to try all of the other interesting sandwich combos they have!

Yelp
Just amazing. Reuben, Ménage a Trois we're both stellar!!! Unique menu, very tasty. Chill vibe

Yelp
Such yummy sandwiches! The man taking our order was super kind and they also had lots of funny signs throughout the restaurant! Food was so yum! Huge portions for the price.

Yelp
We love Ike's! There is literally a sandwich for everyone! Our favorites are the Matt Cain and the Menage a Trois, but honestly, we would eat any one of the sandwiches. There's so many options that it's hard to decide on one. Great place to eat!

Yelp
Oh my goodness! I have developed a new addiction and it is Ike's! So I love a good sandwich. It's the one thing truly missing in Austin, in my opinion. I've been searching for quite some time and i have found my sandwich Mecca with Ike's! Here's the scoop: 1. I love interesting flavors and lots of condiments in pretty much any meal. This is Ike's in a nutshell or rather a bun. Sure there are regular turkey and cheese sandwiches, but there's so many more fun combos of meats, chicken fingers, cheese sticks, veggies, and so many sauces. Happy tummy right here. 2. I'm slowly working my way through the menu, but so far I've enjoyed every sandwich so far. The Ménage A Trois is a tasty mess that gets everywhere. The Hot Momma Huda is your Buffalo chicken fix in a sandwich. The Robin Williams is one of my faves with the shredded chicken, sautéed mushrooms, smothered in Italian dressing. Oh and the Elvis Keith chicken covered in wasabi mayo and teriyaki sauce is something I daydream about on the regular. I'm drooling just typing this. 3. The Dutch bread is delicious! Get this bread option, just trust me. It's a delicious white bread with some magical topping that adds crunch and sweetness to the bread. It's hard to describe, but I think if you look up delicious there would be a picture of a Dutch bread loaf. So yummy. 4. They serve Zapp's chips. They even carry the best flavor of chips in the world, VOODOO. Yummmmm. Even better, you get a free bag of chips with a Yelp check in too. 5. You get a caramel apple lollipop with your order as a fun treat. 6. If you are a vegetarian or have one in your circle, you will enjoy the numerous veg options. 7. They have a kids menu. Kids can get chicken fingers, a turkey and cheese sandwich, or a grilled cheese for $5. 8. My only issue would be the prices. $10+ for a sandwich alone is a bit pricey in my book. I wish everything was about $2 less because that seems a better price for this type of sandwich. This is my reason for going with 4 stars instead of 5. So, if you can't already tell, I love me some Ike's and will continue to stuff my face here on the regular.

Yelp
This sandwich was phenomenal. I'm super bummed that I was only near here on vacation and can't get one whenever I want. Wish there were one in North Central Austin hint hint! Seriously, I had the Elvis Keith on french bread yesterday and just typing this review might make me go get one again tonight. Warm, fresh, no gristly chicken. A+ sandwich!

Yelp
Moved here from CA and really miss my German Deli and Togos back home but this place is pretty good. Only place Ive been able to fond dutch crunch so far and if youve ever had good DC or SF sourdough youll know how it makes or breaks most sandwiches.

Yelp
Loved my sandwich, the San Francisco sourdough bread was so soft and crunchy on the outside so yummy. I had the turkey and bacon with cheese sandwich it was so tasty we spoke with the manager he's from California too and yes now that we are in Texas I miss my California restaurants Togo's, Boudin's, Round table and mountain mikes pizza to name a few. I will return this place is clean and excellent service. Glad to see you in my new home state.

Yelp
Best sandwiches ever!!! The Dutch bread is the way to go. It's soft but still has crunch. I've tried three vegan sandwiches so far, the Meatless Meatball, The Pocahontas, and James & the Giant Peach!! All excellent! My favorite would have to be the meatless meatballs. Listen to the reviewers! They are packed with flavor, you can't go wrong! Tip: you may want to ask for double meat and extra lettuce and tomato if you want a loaded sandwich. The servings are moderate. The bacon is only vegetarian and not vegan. They have a good selection of sandwiches that can be made vegan! Can't wait to visit again and work my way thru the menu! So far the only location is in Cedar Park, but they are bringing it to Round Rock, Sunset Valley and San Marcos!

Yelp
I'll always be loyal to my Office Special from Thundercloud, but these Ike people have really raised the bar on sandwich stuff. San Francisco Yelpers have over two thousand happy reviews about their dozen Ike's, and I was kind of stunned to see one here in Cedar Park. Study the menu & enjoy the puns, but the bottom line is they'll pretty much make anything you want, and it's going to be pretty darn good. Everything's about $10 a pop. Use your Yelp check-in for a bag of Zapps, and if you're toting a veggie/vegan person around for some reason, Ike's may be the most fun they'll have since Arlo's. I also get in the mood for sweet tea now & then, and it was pretty perfect here. I was talking to Lee, I think he's the corporate opener for Texas Ike's, and he's leading two more in Austin & one in San Marcos. Cool. Incidentally, am I only person who thinks the real life Ike looks like Mr Clean? Wait, do you know Mr Clean? Okay, he's the one who looks like he'll be cleaning up on Austin's sandwich market. We'll see how that shines.
