Another of our family’s go to lunch choices. Their combo lunch includes a main dish, one side, egg and a drink. Great combo! I tend to push myself to finish my order buts it’s a lot of food. My favorite is the yellow beef brisket combo while my kids like their boneless chicken combo. Great place, must visit. Also, they have new menus and with a number of new dishes to try.

Google
There was no wait when I came for a late lunch around 2 pm. Ordered the boneless braised chicken (11.99), braised lamb shoulder (16.99), braised meat balls (15.99), and braised mixed vegetables (11.99). The food was served pretty quickly, in less than 10 minutes. Their dishes can be ordered as combos or individually but I opted for the individual portion. The portion size is reasonable for one person to finish themselves and the price is alright too. They all came with white rice even though it wasn't a combo. As for the taste, they were all pretty falvorful but a bit on the salty side. However, the tofu dish wasn't the same as the photo since it was not the same egg tofu but a different kind. A decent place to eat a meal.

The third time we went in two weeks! Tasty meals complete with side dishes and green tea. We ordered hot feet and lamb combo meals and both were deliciously prepared. You can tell the time it took when the meat fell right off the bone and melted in your mouth. The three options of green tea were pleasant surprises, too!

Google
I really like this place! Food is really fresh and delicious. A good selection of dishes and drinks. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Dining area is very nice and bright and the chairs are so comfortable. Lots of easy parking and easy to find. Food quality is excellent. I can't wait to come back.

Google
I really like their food on a cold day because the sauce compliments rice perfectly. If you’re a fan of spicy be sure to add extra peppers!

Google
Good service and food... Definitely a must stop for winter. Savory and well proportioned.

Google
Tofu is small and dry in the braised tofu combo. Assorted vegetables are just some mushrooms and 1 piece of broccoli. Flavor is ok, but will not order this again.

Leo Jia

Google
Very tender meat that falls off bones, hearty and homey taste

Fanny S.

Yelp
I ordered the braised chicken set for two and paid for a drink. It was delivered to the office, and the price was reasonable with a generous portion.

Ariel L.

Yelp
There's such a big advertisement at the entrance, saying we can scan the code to place an order. When we went to pay, the waiter said the promotion was no longer available. The poster is just there to make it easier for people to scan the code. False advertising. H

Yelp
Ordered the pork ribs pot to go (non-spicy) which was quite disappointing. The meat was in very small pieces, there was one piece of broccoli and overcooked potatoes. Flavor was very mediocre, no depth of flavor and bland. At least it wasn't overly oily or salty. The combo came with a choice of side, which I chose the cucumber with wood ear mushroom and tofu. Tasted a little better due to the spicy flavoring, but was still pretty bland. The shredded potato was even more flavorless when ordered non-spicy. The "soup" had some egg drop to it but looked like they accidentally spilled too much corn starch. Needless to say, I'm not coming back!

Yelp
I recently came across this restaurant in Arcadia. Came in for lunch on Saturday. Big portion, fair price, and great service. The combo has main dish, rice and sous vide egg. It also comes with a side dish of your choice and a drink of your choice. Everything tasty yummy (Even the leftover)!! Main dish has lots of choices including chicken, beef, pork, lamb, pig trotter, and tofu!! Their drinks are too sweet for my taste though. I asked for low sugar but it tastes same as normal sugar. They also have soup noodles on the menu which I haven't tried.

Eva C.

Yelp
Absolutely loved everything and ate leftovers and still good. I killed the pig feet all in one sitting so no leftovers coz so bloody good!!! Tender, flavorful, delicious!!! Best I've had.

Marvin C.

Yelp
Great tasty food at great prices. Loved the yellow chicken sizzling pot and the cucumber salad and the passion tea! Will be back!

Elle G.

Yelp
Love this place. Always fresh and delicious. My fave is the pork trotters and my hubby loves the braised chicken.

Jenny C.

Yelp
The restaurant have limited seatings so order out. The rice "clay pot" is not the authentic Cantonese version. The choice of braised meat are okay and sauces are on the saltier end. The sides are also salty -- -- whereas the seaweed salad have a soy sauce base. Overall, the service was good.

Jessica C.

Yelp
Food is good and great portions with combos. Really enjoy the meals here. Simple and tasty with good ingredients.

Yelp
Comfort food at its finest, Ikka Sizzling Pot is all about that braise. If you've never had Huang Men Ji before aka braised yellow chicken, you need to get on it! The menu here is simple, offering simple braised meats and vegetables with a protein of your choice. Besides chicken, you can also choose between pork trotters, pork ribs, lamb or tofu. You really get your money's worth by making it into a combo. A combo gets you a cold side dish and drink of your choice: mixed seaweed, mixed beancurd and cucumber or mixed shredded potato and carrot. Because this dish comes sizzling with all of its bold flavors and sauce, the cold side dish does a great job of mellowing everything out. I've tried the chicken, ribs and trotters and you can't go wrong with any of them. The passion fruit tea here is also delicious and refreshing! Much needed especially if you opt for the regular spicy level and higher.

Ross W.

Yelp
So glad we gave this place a shot. The food exceeded my expectation. I had the Yellow Braised Tofu with Assorted Vegetables. If you love vegetables, this is your dish. There's more than one kind of tofu with big chunks of (oyster) mushroom, not to mention good flavor. Hubby tried the Boneless Yellow Braised Chicken, equally delicious. For spice level, I wish you could choose mild. The only options are No Spicy, Regular Spicy or Extra Spicy. We upgraded to a combo, so for an additional $3, you get a drink & a side. The drinks, such as Passionfruit Green Tea & Yogurt Green Tea, are not watered down. As a side, the Seaweed is a bit too kelpy for me. On the other hand, the Beancurd/ Cucumber/ Woodear mix is tasty for an upcharge of $1.50. We ordered online for pickup. The food was not ready as promised even though we were more than 10 minutes "late," thus one star deduction for the delay.

Yelp
I always love a braised pot and decided to try this place! They are in a plaza so there is a parking lot. The place is small with only 4-5 tables but when my boyfriend and I went for a late lunch there wasn't that much people. We got seated right away and they gave us menus, to my surprised they have Korean fried chicken! I remember when I bookmarked this place a few months ago they only served braised items. Since I wanted to try their Korean fried chicken, my boyfriend and I decided to share one braised boneless chicken pot that comes with rice $10.99. You can have a option for a combo $13.99 comes with a side dish and a drink. We chose the bone in wings for $12.99 8 pieces (which is not bad they were so huge!!!) I wasn't sure if their soy garlic was good so I ask for the sauce on the side The wait wasn't bad, but the food was amazing everything was very flavorful and comforting. The chicken was super moist and soft and the wings were beyond amazing, I was very surprised in how big the wings were (definitely worth the price) super crunchy and not soggy at all. The soy garlic sauce is not bad but I saw a table next to us it was very drenched and I'm not a fan of very drenched wings so having it on the side was perfect. Overall this place was beyond my expectations and I'm definitely coming back to try their other dishes.

Yelp
Been meaning to try this place for a while and finally got around to it and I do not regret it! It is very nostalgic of my mom's home cooked meals especially the braised pork. Honestly braised anything is always delicious in my opinion and these are certainly no exception. For four girls we ordered two sizzling pots and a soy garlic fried chicken which was more than enough. The portions are reasonable and very filling. The pot was not sizzling when we got it though but I appreciate the idea. Would come back to satisfy my asian food craving when home cooked meals are not available.

Kim B.

Yelp
This is a new food experience. It's very good. The service was ok and the place is newer so it clean.

Billy J.

Yelp
Pics says everything. This is a hole in a wall and i highly recommend it! We ordered two combination orders. The food is tasty and the portions were generous. The combo comes with a drinks, side, and rice. This place was good and will come back. Service was amazing too. Vere kind and cozy spot.

Emily L.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised by the flavors. I've seen sizzling pot restaurants, but never had the urge to try them. We ended up going for family Sunday dinner. They do offer dine in, but the restaurant is quite tiny with only like 4 tables, they do get a bunch of take out orders. I like that their menu has more than clay pots. We did order the Dan Dan mien, It was more on the soupy side. Great flavor and spice, but a tad salty. The sizzling pots were quite tasty and pairs great with rice. We ordered the fried chicken nuggets when they were on promotion and they were not and tender. I also would recommend their yogurt green tea! We got 3 rounds of drinks, so good.

Yelp
Ask tip in a very rude way for this self-service style cafeteria. The food is good, flavor is tasty, and portion is large enough for one person. However, the boss or manager makes my experience here not so great. We did not give tip this time, as we pay at the counter, no water refill requested, no extra service asked. If you ask for tip, that's fun. However, he should not ask for it with an attitude. The manager said," if you are in the US, you must give tip, if you are in China, you don't need to." Oh, That's irritating, and definitely not true. I would like to let you know. Giving tip is a traditional custom, but it is not a legally required enforceable requirement. It's completely voluntary. And by customer only. If we feel there is no service, then we don't think you deserve an extra tip except the dish price. Besides of that. That's not a professional and good way to treat your customer, especially for long-term. People always can switch to To-Go order to avoid tip. But we still chose to dine in, even if there is almost no service, and we always gave tip before beside this time. You should pay attention to the sentences you chose, as we are not paying to buy the uncomfortable feeling. And that irritating words of course make you do not deserve a tip, Giving tip is only for good service received and should not be taken as granted wherever in the world! Never came again.

Yelp
Gave Ikka Sizzling Pot a shot and was disappointed. My hubby and I drove from one side of 626 (Monterey Park) to the other side of 626 (Arcadia) in traffic to try this restaurant. We looked at their menu online and was so excited to try their Chicken Sizzling pot and House Special Dan Dan Mien. When we arrived, we looked at the menu and were ready to order. After we order the server then tells us the House Special Dan Dan Noodles are discontinued (even though it was on their menu). Then he tells us there is Beef Noodles Soup with Brisket and Beef Noodle Soup but then Beef Noodle Soup with Brisket is sold out. Super disappointing. We relooked at the menu and had to refigure out what to order. FOOD: Braised Yellow Boneless Chicken (no combo)- The order comes with a bowl of rice on the side. The sizzling pot flavor was good but the portion were very skimpy. 1 broccoli, 2 slices of mushroom and the chicken. Perhaps the Chicken seemed little because it was boneless. The more I ate the spicier it was, and we ordered regular. The spicy options are between no spicy, regular spicy, and extra spicy. There is a combo option where you get a side and a drink. Beef Noodle Soup- the soup was light and brothy side. There wasn't anything special about the beef noodle soup just that the soup is different than what I'm used to. PRICE: The price is average. SERVICE: We got greeted and seated as soon as we walked in. The server was really helpful in answering our questions since it was our first time. PARKING: There is plenty of parking in a big plaza. It is located in the same plaza as Arcadia Supermarket and Simbala. I'm not in a hurry to go back if I did not have a reason, I'd definitely order something different.

Yelp
Super yummy braised chicken and rice noodle soup! I love the fast and wonderful customer service too! If you are in the area, it's worth coming here to try their combo. For the free drink, I got the yogurt green tea, not too sweet, it was perfect! #IKKA SIZZLING POT #THE BEST YELLOW BRAISED CHICKEN

Shizuka Y.

Yelp
We love your Tomato soup noodles and the chicken rice combo. We ate there two days in a row :) They are delicious! Great service! My daughter likes the paintings on the wall

Kelvin W.

Yelp
Price wise this place is pretty good. They have combo sets that come with a side (seaweed or potatos), both of which were good. The combos also come with a drink. Overall the food was pretty good, but was a bit on the saltier side.

Yelp
This review is way over due. I've been visiting this place for almost a year. Who writes a review after visiting it 10+ times later? Well, sometimes I do that just to give the place a fair score. You never know as everyone and every place has an off day. To be honest I wasn't too fond of the place on my initial visit because I have never had braised chicken and I thought the service stunk during its soft opening when the outside sign still reflected the previous restaurant at this location. On the initial visit I had the Dan Dan noodle (3.5 stars) which I found it slightly above average while my wife had their braised chicken. After that initial visit I always had their sizzling pots with pork ribs then beef brisket while always dabbling on the chicken my wife always orders here. In fact after trying the wildly popular Yang's Braised Chicken that is when I realized why she said this place is way better than the Yang's-- less oil, more meats, better flavor, and actual vegetables. Come to think of it, I remembered not writing about this place because I only recommend this place to people who asked me where to go for braised chicken. This is definitely by far the best braised chicken place in LA or maybe even SoCal. The inside is super small so keeping this a secret is a must. I'm counting on you, fellow Yelpers.

Will L.

Yelp
The food here is very delicious. I give 3 stars simply because they never answer the phone call. I normally just called in and place the order and drive there to pick up. It will save a lot of time of mine. However 9 out of 10 times they don't answer the call. Then I have to walk-in to place the order and wait 15 minutes for my food. Please, please just pick up the phone, I mean that's not an excessive request.

Jireh H.

Yelp
I don't remember the previous establishment that they replaced and as one frequenting this plaza whenever in LA, I find this rather surprising. But I did notice Ikka Sizzling Pot shortly after their sign went up and had made a mental bookmark to visit them at next opportunity. What I found was immediately to my liking. It is a very casual dining spot with a straightforward menu and style of service. You enter, place an order, pay your tab, sit yourself and wait for your food to arrive. As the menu is relatively simple and mainly their signature noodles and braised dishes with the usual optional sides (to further amp your meal as well as boost their ticket sales), it makes for a good and really quick no-fuss meal for anyone with limited time such as working professionals on the clock. While stews are relatively easy to make, it is the time factor (low and slow) that turns most people away from dabbling with it at home (considering most people do not have the time nor inclination to do so especially when already hungry). So having a spot that specializes in it and making it pretty darn tasty, it almost just beckons you to skip any effort at home and come here instead for a quick fix. I would be lying if I said it's been a while since a meal made me happy. But it is true that it has been indeed a while where a relatively cheaply priced stew with the amount of ingredients given made me as happy as I was dining here. Enough to override the intense conversation with my little sister and more than enough to leave a lingering food-joy after. So why not 5 stars some who read may ask? Braised pork trotters was awesome BUT my side of karaage chicken not only came out overcooked but tasted of old oil, which really took away from the experience. Maybe I'll try the sides again the next time. Maybe I just won't. Either or - I'll definitely be back for the stews again.

richard c.

Yelp
Horrible experience as mentioned from another review owner/makes experience horrible as they're have rude attitude. Also ( shady charges to my bill) as they added more tip without my permission which is illegal! For a self service restaurant with non existent customer service they had the audacity to suggest tipping which is laughable and argue with you for not tipping. Beware you have been warned

Xuerui W.

Yelp
Ohhh. This place is a bomb. I used to love yang's braised chicken, so when I found out about this place i thought it's just another copy of Yang's. But after trying it out, I realize they have even better dishes and options. I especially love their new dish, pork intestine Chicken.... Two of my favorite meat combined! This will be my home base for lunch from now on.

Amy C.

Yelp
Over all the foods are of great flavors and quality. The special combo is especially good value for your money.

Kenny W.

Yelp
Nice little place, good food and friendly service. Will come back and try more! Like their combo, great price

Eileen L.

Yelp
Great lunch place! Had the chicken and beef pots- enough to share for three. Came with tea too. The waitress gave us a free Dan Dan veggie noodle dish. Way too much food and took it home for later. I want to try the other hot pots for next visit!

Jana J.

Yelp
Love all the pots here!!! I tried the boneless chicken for the first time and it tastes so good and ended up coming back tried all the pot and all of them are great !!! Highly recommended

Leona L.

Yelp
Got the new chicken and intestines, so good! Meat is tender and flavorful, and goes well with fresh fluffy rice

Melanie H.

Yelp
The third time we went in two weeks! Tasty meals complete with side dishes and green tea. We ordered hot feet and lamb combo meals and both were deliciously prepared. You can tell the time it took when the meat fell right off the bone and melted in your mouth. The three options of green tea were pleasant surprises, too!

Bodo G.

Yelp
Comfort food. The main dish with it's sides was absolutely delicious. Only downside is the quantity of food. It is perfectly fine for me but, I eat a lot less than the average person.

Elena J.

Yelp
Service was quick and easy. Large portions and the noodle soups are delicious. Different flavors that you don't normally have available. We tried the pickled cabbage and tomato rice noodle soups. Both were great!!

Ming Z.

Yelp
Great for comfort food! I got the sour cabbage noodle soup with beef belly. Yum! #Ikka Sizzling Pot

T R.

Yelp
neutral review, basically just a FYI in the pictures, 10 out of 224 pictures are of dan dan noodles, but nope. it must have left years ago they DO NOT serve this dish anymore

Crystal J.

Yelp
yummy lunch beef pot!! fast and friendly service!! comes with yummy tea too :) definitely recommend!!

Stacy H.

Yelp
I came here on a Sunday night around 6 pm and it was a full house so I would recommend coming here earlier! I ordered the hot and sour noodles while my boyfriend ordered their braised chicken dish. Both were delicious, although I've had better hot & sour noodles elsewhere. For the price of around $8 for a HUGE bowl of noodles, I was happy with it. The noodles had that chewy texture I love and included toppings like minced pork and corn which other spots don't usually include. The braised chicken rice was really tender and flavorful. It was very satisfying eating the sauce with the rice as well. I really enjoyed this place and will probably be craving it soon!

Jenine Y.

Yelp
I love the food here. I always get extra spicy pork feet and it's perfect amount of heat for me. Portions could be a little bigger for the price but I usually end up picking up some steamed veggies from another place in the plaza and my meal is complete.

X C.

Yelp
The service is very good, there is only one girl in the front serving, but she has a very good attitude and will introduce the menu carefully and recommend it to us. When I was paying the bill, I wanted to take it to the cashier, and the girl immediately ran over and told me she will take jt to the cashier. The food was served very fast and the food was delicious, will definitely be back!

EG C.

Yelp
Braised Beef Pot- Had a good amount of beef that was very tender and had a good, garlicy soy flavor. It was delicious, and had a good amount of potatoes and carrots, topped with few pieces of steamed broccoli, served with a side of rice. Pretty solid flavor, and was a good sized meal for $11 Dan Dan Noodles- Opted for this without pork. The flavors were good, but it was VERY salty. They also topped this dish with 2-3 steamed broccoli pieces, and this did not have a side of rice. Thank goodness we had our rice from the braised beef pot because we would not have been able to eat this without it. The flavors were awesome, but with each bite followed a spoonful of rice as well. Wish they would either lay off the salt, or add more noodles to even it out. Altogether, a solid choice if you're craving this sort of food. For a restaurant that opened not too long ago, a good option for the area.

Akira T.

Yelp
Tried braised chicken and braised lamb, both taste good. Quick and nice service. It's a clean and tidy place.

Alex P.

Yelp
Our food was affordable and good here! I got chicken with bones in them, not spicy. Recommend!

Soki T.

Yelp
I recently stumbled upon this place while looking for a place to have dinner. There was a sign outside advertising 10% off for their soft opening which was even better! The menu they offer is pretty small but there are a few noodle dishes, about six different sizzling pots, and some deep fried options including Hot Star fried chicken! I ordered the Braised Beef Brisket sizzling pot ($12.99) which comes with a side of rice in addition to the glass noodles in hot and sour soup. You can add extra ingredients to the sizzling pot for an extra charge if you like. The glass noodles in hot and sour soup was also pretty good and not too sour or spicy which I liked. Honestly my only complaint here is that the customer service is not great. The cashier basically ignored me when I asked her questions about the menu items. I also didn't like that both times I had to ask the cashier to apply the 10% discount.

June Z.

Yelp
Soft opening - 10% off if you follow them on wechat Back to the food - I went there because I saw the review that they have the Braised Chicken fillet, which I been dying to try, it's actually not bad, but to be honest, the braised beef tasted a whole lot better. the portion is big enough for one person, it's one of those get your own damn bowl, because one is not enough to share among two people. I really wanted to try their fried chicken but they said they don't have it at the moment m - big disappointment. No table service - you walk in, look at the menu, order from the cashier and sit anywhere you like. once the order is ready, they will bring it to your table. Because there was really no service - i didn't leave any tip.... notice other people didn't leave tip either. self serve water and there's also to-go containers and bags if you can't finish your meal.

Yelp
The first time I came, the signature dishes were delicious, I ordered the very spicy, enjoyable, you can try the spicy ones, the rice noodles are average, the service is good and clean

Yuhao Z.

Yelp
Great service with freshly made food, love their boneless chicken, definitely would come back again.

Kevin M.

Yelp
This place is a true gem. I can't believe my meal was only $10.99. I got the boneless chicken thigh sizzling pot & it was so flavorful. With the cost of goods getting expensive, my meal came with lots of meat. Great portions & great price. I will def be back soon!

Shuran W.

Yelp
Awesome new spot! Really good braised beef pot, spicy and tasty! The tomato beef rice noodles is superb too. Big potions of food.
