Miami’s New Restaurant Openings

"Iko is a Japanese restaurant in Edgewater. The menu has standard sashimi, nigiri, and sushi. There's also a “wagyu bar” with expensive beef that makes sense in this part of town." - mariana trabanino

IKO Miami - Review - Edgewater - Miami - The Infatuation

It was a very pleasant surprise to find this place. Everything from the quality of the food, the service, to the atmosphere was above and beyond. I can’t remember when was the last time I had a Salmon Tiradito so fresh and savory. The rolls were delicious too! I was highly impressed by the creativity of some options too.. like the Tuna tartare with Truffle mini arepas. *chef’s kiss* And my personal favorite: The octopus empanadas. Definitely coming back for more soon!

Absolutely phenomenal! Iko Restaurant exceeded all my expectations. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed by a sleek, modern atmosphere with an intimate vibe that makes the whole experience feel special. The service was flawless ; attentive, warm, and knowledgeable. We tried several rolls and the Omakase, and every bite was a masterpiece. The fish was incredibly fresh, the flavors perfectly balanced, and the presentation stunning. The Truffle Tuna and Wagyu Nigiri were absolute standouts; pure flavor explosions. Iko has officially become my go to sushi spot in Miami. If you’re looking for high end sushi with a creative twist, this is the place. I’ll definitely be coming back soon!

Just tried this today with my wife, at lunch time. Highly recommend it, I had the lunch menu and tried the sushi rolls and the bowls. The bowls are delicious, everything is fresh, tasty. Next time I’ll try the Omakase Menu for two. The ambiance is subtle, well put together nice tables and chairs.

I was at IKO a few days ago for happy hour and enjoyed it overall. I liked the service was fast and friendly. That always helps. I started with a glass of Albariño. I gotta say it was a nice glass, it was crisp and clean, just what you need in a late warm afternoon. I would come back for that Albariño for sure. I sampled their tuna tartare and the spicy salmon and tuna rolls. The tuna tartare had an Unami taste to it, probably coming from the kimchi or the soy sauce. I loved the fact it was not packed with other ingredients and you got to actually taste the tuna with the subtle salty taste at the end, and the sort of rice crackers they serve it with, they are so crunchy, just delicious. What I really didn’t enjoy much were the rolls. They were overly spicy, and when I say overly is because they actually were. I have high tolerance for spicy food but this was a bit too much. The other flavors got overpowered by the spiciness. The rolls were also a bit messy, for a restaurant of this caliber, you would expect cleaner and more presentable rolls. I got to see some of their poke bowls; they looked great. I would certainly come back to try those.

Flawless! An absolute culinary gem in Miami! Iko Restaurant delivers a full experience from start to finish. The attention and service are impeccable — warm, professional, and welcoming. And the food? Simply unreal!!! I had the black octopus empanadas with the smooth wasabi sauce (not spicy at all!), the truffle arepitas with tuna tartar, the platter, and the unforgettable Gengis Kahn roll. Every bite was divine — bold flavors, stunning presentation, and perfect textures. The desserts are inspired by Chef Guillermo Gassan’s grandmother and they are pure magic. The Chocolate Snow and Pillar of Roses are creative, emotional, and absolutely delicious. Iko Rest isn’t just a restaurant — it’s an elevated experience! Can’t wait to go back!

Yelp
Nothing special and severely over priced. The service was better than the food. The portions are ridiculously small. I had to get more food afterwards.
