"A new cafe by Ikon Coffee is opening in the Dogpatch area of San Francisco. The cafe will feature a variety of espresso drinks and plans to experiment with coffee mocktails. The food menu is still under development but will include breakfast sandwiches and possibly Bolivian cuñapés. The space will have a bar and large windows, providing an exterior-facing experience. The opening is scheduled for the end of December." - Paolo Bicchieri

Lovely coffee spot! If u grab a bag of beans u get a free coffee. The coffee is rich and tasty and the owner is so nice and welcoming. Also enjoyed my chia pudding as well. Will come back for more ;)

Google
Small shop with mainly outdoor seating and great coffee. I got a cortado and it was very rich with a deep flavor profile, more on the bitter/acidic side.

Google
We drove quite a ways to get to this coffee shop. It was worth it. For coffee: lighter bean and roast so more acidic. Well balanced and great flavor. Pastries: beyond excellent. High quality ingredients and they are delightful. Staff: superb service and kindness

Google
Ikon’s Coffee is a charming café that serves delightful coffee. I absolutely love their lattes; they pair perfectly with a delicious Cranberry Brie tart! The decor creates a warm and relaxing atmosphere, and the staff is incredibly kind, making it a lovely place to visit. We will definitely be back to try their breakfast sandwiches and pastries, which looked absolutely scrumptious!

Google
Ikon is a neighborhood gem with amazing coffee. I have tried their espresso drinks, matcha lattes and drip coffee and they never disappoint. Also they have a great pastry selection- this is becoming my favorite spot for pastries whenever I need something to brighten the day.

Delicious coffee, cozy friendly vibes, and in-house baked pastries to die for! Perfektion!!

Google
Ikon is a unique cafe in the SF area. It offers great coffee, wonderful, fresh, made to order food, incredibly friendly service and a comfortable and spacious place to sit and enjoy all of the above. I go often and I couldn't recommend more whole heartedly.

March 2024: Stopped by for a cup of afternoon coffee. Saw that if you buy beans, they give you a free coffee. So I bought a bag of their house blend and enjoyed the coffee. 😄 It was probably a medium roast coffee, which I enjoyed. Service was friendly and the space is quite nice. Would definitely come back again.

Yelp
Ikon is a cute and cozy coffee shop in the Dogpatch neighborhood. The vibes are more "sit down and chat with friends" or "chill and enjoy the weather" rather than "sit for hours and get work done." The neighborhood is also cute, so great to walk around. I didn't get to try their latte which is what I usually rate a coffee shop by, but I got their hot chocolate (which was good) and iced americano (which was also good). Will come back to try other drinks. The blueberry muffin tastes great, fresh, and homemade.

Sasha M.

Yelp
The service is friendly but they often get orders wrong. The baked goods are not good...almost always V dry and very over priced. The coffee itself is delicious and the service always has a smile... hence why I gave it 4 stars instead of probably the 3.5 it deserves. I love the open air and outdoor / indoor seating.

Hailing W.

Yelp

Yelp
Very nice people and solid coffee / bakery! Good outdoor seating. Conveniently located in Dogpatch.

Allan Y.

Yelp
Small little cafe in the corner of the street, seats about 7 to 8 inside and about 12 outside. It is a pretty cool spot for the area. Met a customer here for a meeting. I got a regular coffee and it tasted great, one of the best I had. The service was pretty quick and the owner was pretty engaging with the customers checking on them all.

Somya L.

Yelp
Ikon Coffee is one of the most talked about coffee places in SF & I am so glad I finally got to check it out! I got the decaf vanilla latte with almond milk and it was absolutely fantastic. Super fresh & creamy. They also have matcha (it's not really advertised) and chai for my non coffee lovers. Not a lot of place to sit but there are a couple of tables and really easy parking!

Samantha D.

Yelp
Coffee is smooth and tastes good. Prices reflect the neighborhood. A great place to get some work done. They have outdoor and indoor seats.

Nancy M.

Yelp
What a beautiful coffee shop! Lots of outdoor seating too. I loved that this was just a few steps from our airbnb when we visited SF. they have lots of options and everything was delicious. I love a chai latte so of course I ordered the ginger and turmeric chai. Wow!! So flavorful and so delicious. Spicy!! My hubby got the vanilla latte and their vanilla was wild! Sooo good. Better than any vanilla latte I've ever had. Great spot to check out!

Francina L.

Yelp
First time going to ikon coffee. Depending on the time you go, you may find residential parking. I found a space mid day on a Monday. It was empty when I walked in and honestly that's how I like it lol. The barista was really friendly and attended me immediately. I ordered a vanilla latte with oat milk and it was really tasty. They have a big wide open window with and seating so you can look to the outside and then just right outside the front doors are a few two person tables to enjoy outdoor seating. Can't wait to go back and try more coffee.

Sarah C.

Yelp
the ginger and turmeric chai latte fell so short of expectations :( it was so milky and foamy (the drink was white even after stirring, which says a lot), but worse of all I could barely taste any ginger or turmeric, and just a hint of chai.

Neal B.

Yelp
A lovely addition to the neighborhood, with classic and creative espresso drinks and amazing selection of baked goods! This place has a cozy interior and plenty of outdoor space to sip, eat and work. The standard espresso based drinks I order (capuccinos, Cortados) have been great here, but I also enjoy their double oat 7, a cappuccino sized oat-based mocha. Recommend!

Sean S.

Yelp
Coffee is amazing, sandwiches are amazing and the service is more than amazing. Will be back - no doubt about it! Thank you Marcelo!

Jessica L.

Yelp
Cozy neighborhood coffeeshop in Dogpatch! Located in a quiet residential area with very friendly staff and a simple menu with all your classic coffees! I love how if you buy a bag of beans you get a free coffee with it. They have a few choices of food too if you're hungry. We had a breakfast sandwich and loved how it came warm! There's just a few seats here (some outdoor tables, and a wide window bar seating). It's usually sunny around here so outdoor seating is nice. Generally not difficult to find parking either, especially on weekends.

Ziyan C.

Yelp
I've been here a couple times, the owner seems to know everyone who comes in, the fresh scones are amongst the best I've had (5 stars!), the ginger/turmeric latte has excellent texture & flavor (4.5 stars).

Emily C.

Yelp
Swung by here cause it was the closest coffee shop but wish I didn't. These were the highest prices I've ever seen for a coffee shop; I literally gasped and cried internally. The barista was nice. The place was a cute little corner cafe that was open and bright. Minimal seating inside but some table outside too. Parking is free on the street. We ordered two vanilla lattes, each $8.5 plus an extra $1 for oat milk in mine. These prices were so exorbitant for the most average lattes comprised of mostly milk. This was the most expensive cup of coffee I've drank, and it was not worth $10. The cups aren't even cute or customized with their brand, just plain plastic cups. Coffee menu is boring and doesn't offer any unique flavors. I guess if you like chai, they have some interesting creations. My boyfriend drank half, and I was not gonna waste so I downed it. Overall, I wouldn't go here again. There is nothing special, so there is no justification for these ridiculous prices. Go grab a cheaper, better cup of vanilla latte at any other coffee shop.

Liliana R.

Yelp
Coming from out of town for New Year's. Very cozy place and the lattes are smooth and strong. Would definitely come back when I'm in town!

Sophie L.

Yelp
Great coffee shop in the Dog Patch area and definitely one of my favorite coffee spots in the city! I always come in for their Mocha Shooter. A great drink if you are craving a mocha thats a bit more coffee forward! Love their clean, warm interior! They do have wifi and outlets. The place is on the smaller side, but has a nice open air counter! I do wfh here time to time and never had a problem grabbing a seat. Staff is very friendly as well, definitely a must if you are in Dogpatch!

Peter M.

Yelp
Any cafe I've ever been to has drip coffee ready to go at the time they open their doors for business that day. Apparently not the case with Ikon coffee. Their website indicates they open at 7am, so, thinking I'd beat the morning rush long line, I got there at 7:01. However, when I asked for a black coffee to go, the manager said "I can give you an Americano". So, I said 'no thanks, just want a drip coffee' to which manager replied with attitude, "Well, I just got here so it's not ready yet." I left and went for coffee down the street. Huh?? If you are opening your doors at 7 shouldn't you arrive earlier to have coffee ready to go at 7? First world problems, sure. But when you're charging $7.50 (pre tip / tax) for a latte, you had better have your game on every morning and have coffee ready to go when you open your doors for customers.

Maria S.

Yelp
I really appreciate this coffee shop. It's a very peaceful spot to meet a friend to catch up or a quiet spot as a third office. The staff was very nice and very knowledgeable about their different coffee. I had a short conversation with the barista who explained their roasting philosophy which made me intrigued. I'm looking forward to coming back for a nice cortado and muffin.

Amity H.

Yelp
Super solid coffee shop. They are knowledgeable on their products and ingredients, which is always a good sign. Staffs are all super friendly too! Plenty of street parking and located in a nice quiet neighborhood. Store was super clean and had plenty of seating either by the window counter and had 3 tables outside. I liked how they told us small facts about each drink while crafting them. Their mocha is naturally sweeten with no added sugar! After tasting it, I can definitely taste the quality. Super smooth! I definitely want to come back and try out their other drinks and pastry items! Check this place out!

Ching C.

Yelp
Came on a weekday lunch, super quick service. It's a nice chill neighborhood to just have coffee and catch up in the city, parking maybe a bit hard to find. They roast their own beans in south SF and sells them at the store! We got the tumeric ginger latte and a cold brew. I personally don't like ginger but it was such an interesting drink and you can definitely taste the distinct flavors of tumeric and ginger and it's not sweet. I do like the cold brew as it tasted really strong and more on the sweet acidic side. Would come back again if I'm in the area!

Amica J.

Yelp
Hidden gem in dogpatch. Coffee is smooth and the interior is beautiful inside. You wouldn't expect a coffee shop like this when you're first on the street. The barista was the best part. He made convos with everyone and even said 'please come back for refills' to the gentlemen in front of me. I do pour overs and then provided his tips on how to brew a better cup. It gave that small, local neighborhood coffee shop that some of these shiny sf cafes lack. There is street parking. Small seating indoors and outdoors. Will return !

Tim L.

Yelp
Ikon is my go-to coffee shop in the Dogpatch, and it's one of my favorite (if not the favorite) coffee shops in the bay area. I usually opt for the iced latte, and it's consistently good. The coffee is always flavorful while also being smooth and easy to drink, and the staff here are amazing! If you need to get some work done, the space is cute with ample seating and free wifi. Shout out to Anthony and Marcel, who are always super friendly and welcoming whenever I drop by!

Catheryn L.

Yelp
LOVE the coffee here. So much better than the Coffee Shop down the street. And the butter croissants are to die for - perfectly flaky, fluffy, and chewy. The owner and baristas are also super super friendly. Prices are a little high at $8+ but I guess that's Dogpatch SF for you.

Chanmi L.

Yelp
Ikon is a great a coffee shop with a variety of beverages and delicious pastries. From the classics (americano, cold brew, latte etc.), specialty drinks (mocha shooter, ginger and turmeric latte or chai), kid's drinks, to teas, they have it all! I tried the ginger and turmeric chai as I'm pregnant and not drinking caffeine at the moment. It was the perfect drink in the morning as it was warm and soothing. And I loved the deep flavors of the ginger and turmeric, it wasn't too strong but perfect. I also had the french scone. Baked fresh at the store, it was delicious and perfect with my chai. Crunchy on the outside and super moist and soft in the inside. I also liked how it's not sweet compared to other scones. It was different in a good way. I also recommend talking to Marcel, the owner of Ikon. He is very nice and great to tak to. We've talked about the quality and taste of the coffees, and how they are growing the industry and community.

Lynn I.

Yelp
We drive up from the peninsula to come here because it's the best coffee in the Bay Area, imho. From the roasted beans for home use to the perfect ah-mazing lattes to the in-house made pastries, there's nothing that compares. The cafe has lots of large windows creating a bright and modern seating area. There are also tables in the covered outdoor space-- a perfect place to people watch while enjoying your treat. Just good vibes all around!

Misha T.

Yelp
Cool neighborhood coffee shop. Great place to grab a cappuccino (nice and creamy) and read a book. They have this large window bar area type place which lets you sit both for too inside and sort of outside in a nice way. Lotta cute dogs.

Adam T.

Yelp
Attended a soft opening and thoroughly enjoyed the coffee and pastries. The Carl the Fog drip (black) was clean and balanced. It skewed slightly on the lighter side (which I appreciated), so I enjoyed the well rounded notes with a touch of sweetness. The pastries are baked in house, and were delicate and fragrant. The biscotti paired nicely with the drip. Service was wonderful. Great neighborhood vibes.

Katie M.

Yelp
Came here on a Thursday afternoon, not crowded. Friendly staffs, very clean, I like that they have a big open window with fresh air and music. Parking a bit hard to find in the area and I m lucky that I found a parking around the corner. I ordered a Cafe Latte, love it. Strong and bold. Thick frothy foam. Double shots. On the cup sleeve "we love to make coffee for the people that love to drink it" Will come again if I am in the area.

Harrison H.

Yelp
Super cute space (minimalist aesthetic) with solid coffee! I ordered an iced oat latte and it was perfect! Just the right mix of bold espresso with creamy oat milk. The space is perfect as well! It's located in a pretty quaint part of Potrero, so it's a perfect escape from the city. My personal favorite part of the location were the pocket windows that opened up towards the sidewalk. It's the ideal place to work from home or catch up with friends. The service was stellar as well. Super friendly staff that made me feel welcome.

Camille E.

Yelp
Very kind service! It's is a small spot, but one I'm going to be happy to regularly visit. The scone was absolutely delicious--light and fluffy!

Cassandra W.

Yelp
Absolutely lovely vibes here. The owner feels like a warm hug. He uses his grandmothers recipe for a yummy specialty baked good. Such a peaceful atmosphere (I walked there around 7 am). They roast all their own coffee, make all their own pastries and only use French butter (which makes a huge difference). SF has soo many fun, beautiful interesting spaces--makes me want to be in the city more (I haven't been here quite as much after moving to the "Lamorinda" area)! Anyway, it's small but has a big open air window with counter area with a nice sized outdoor patio. I would imagine a nice place to chill and work from.

Chris L.

Yelp
Still our favorite coffee spot in the neighborhood! Excellent coffee, tasty pastries, super nice service. Scones and cakes are so good. Sparkling water with your beverage as well!

Kelly A.

Yelp
Such a cute cafe!! I studied here for a couple hours on a weekend. Small interiors but it has great natural lighting with a couple of places to sit inside and some tables outside. Good amount of foot traffic. The service was great! Staff were sooo nice and friendly. Got to try their cunape cheesy bread and scone. Both were really delicious; I'm hooked on the cunape! I also enjoyed a latte. Only thing was there were a lot of flies inside that swarmed and could be bothersome because the space has a big open window. Regardless, 10/10 would recommend, had a great experience.

Rio J.

Yelp
Finally the first real coffee shop in dog patch! I must admit I'm kinda a coffee snob. I have my own espresso machine at home and often source hard to get beans so it's rare for me to like a coffee shop. 1 one of the first things I look for in a coffee shop is do they roast their own beans and ikon does. There's reasoning but that's a whole other review. Ordered a cappuccino with out milk saw they had thing called "geisha shot" which is basically a shot of whatever premier bean they are using. Tried to buy a bag of it (Ethiopian bean) but they were sold out. So I opted for another bag (Guatemalan) and it was good for home consumption lol. They had some interesting food option did not try them but will definitely be coming back. Nice sitting area away from the business so when I need a break from work you know where to find me.

Jacky L.

Yelp
Delicious coffee and knowledgeable staff. I usually get my beans here and come here for cappuccino when I can.

Linz C.

Yelp
The ginger turmeric chai is TO DIE FOR. So smooth and the perfect soo on a chilly day. Tried the scone and cheese bread as well. The place is pretty small, a few counter seats and one two-person table. There's also bit of seating outside. Service was great, lots of customers were asking about what their oat 7 drink was. I think I'll try that next time. Parking can be a pain but definitely a great spot.

Nicole J.

Yelp
Tasted good, but definitely not on the level of third wave coffee Roastery that I would expect for a $5 Americano

Vicki L.

Yelp
Cute corner with outdoor and open front chilling. Friendly service. And a non coffee or tea option. Tasty baked good option.

Moana N.

Yelp
The customer service is good, but this coffee shop doesn't have anything really. I asked if they had sugar free flavorings - No. I asked if they had coconut milk - No. They don't take any big bills over $50. The employees said that the owner doesn't like change and is slow to get to customer requests. Coffee is good and Scones are amazing! But, parking sucks! They try with the ambiance. I mean, they are parked across the street from some type business that welcomes a lot of traffic. The scones are probably the highlight of this place, but even they are super small like cookies.

Waverley H.

Yelp
Cute little corner coffee shop great for those in Potrero (or those waiting in line at Plow) craving a quick pick me up. Since the shop is at the bottom of a hill, the walk to get there is leisurely but the climb to get back is a little tougher--thankfully you'll have a solid refreshing coffee in hand. Aesthetic is clean and modern, service is super friendly and welcoming, and while there are only a few seats along the open air counter, it is never crowded.

James G.

Yelp
Ikon is a wonderful new addition of coffee shops in the Dogpatch. I'm really happy there's more interesting coffee here than at the other places. There's a beautiful window that stays open most of the day and there's some seating outside as well. Inside is very clean and trendy and I love the countertops. Service is lovely and easy. Everybody seems happy to work there. One star off because I Wish there was more pastry options as that seems a little sparse. However the Americano is great and they also have other cool things not normally on a coffee menu such as the turmeric and ginger spritz if you're not a coffee drinker.

Christian Y.

Yelp
Coffee was alright, espresso wasn't strong. Expensive coffee. The pastry was dry and cold.

Chante O.

Yelp
Super airy and sleek cafe that still has a cozy neighborhood feel. My vanilla latte was delicious and the service was prompt and incredibly friendly! Also had one of their homemade scones which was very tasty. Excited to come back!

T A.

Yelp
Clean ambiance with open-air seating. Baristas are precise and respect the craft. The pastries are fresh, made in house.

Brian L.

Yelp
Great coffee, fantastic baristas! Been waiting for almost 2 years since I moved nearby for them to open up, and so glad to see the light of day. Small shop yes but the decór and interior still felt spacious with a decent amount of seating (and a super cute nook area with wood paneling). Love how the windows open up on the bar area. Iced americano was solid, their beans are fresh and made to last. Their geisha espresso shot was superb and probably the smoothest shot I've ever tasted (even 6 months after coming back from Italy and being an avid home barista myself). Definitely see myself coming here weekly to get beans (which are all medium roasts as they lean toward the sweetness) anyone reading this should definitely come and support! :)

Steph S.

Yelp
Super friendly & great tasting coffee! Pastries are made in house and look scrumptious as well.

Shane D.

Yelp
Just tried the Breakfast sando and it was the right amount of everything, the Fresh Homemade biscuit the egg and the aioli were all perfect, i added bacon which made the whole thing even better! and to wash it all down i had the mocha shooter 10/10!

Leonard C.

Yelp
Glad to have this spot in the dogpatch. Coffee is excellent especially the cold brew. Can't wait to come back and try some more drinks
