Yelp
This place was so NOT the experience I was hoping for. Decided to come here on a Saturday night, and was completely expecting a little wait since we didn't have reservations. We were asked if wanted to sit in the hibachi area (with the show) or in the dining area where they would cook the food in the back. Since we didn't have reservations, decided to give the dining area a try, especially since we were starving.
Party of five ordered the chicken teriyaki and sushi, steak teriyaki and sushi, bulgogi dinner, and two steak hibachi dinners.
Good: chicken and steak teriyaki with sushi was actually fairly decent, but all the sushi came with a little too much rice.
Not so good: bulgogi dinner was not thinly sliced beef but looked like ground beef, with a lot of rice. It had a semblance of the taste of bulgogi, but was not flavorful enough to stay in your mouth for very long.
Bad: the two steak hibachi dinners. The salad was not cold, and the dressing was warm and runny. The soup was not flavorful, and I joked that it was hot water with a little food coloring. The steak was bland and overcooked (we ordered medium), the noodles and vegetables were not hot, and the fried rice seemed like it was not cooked fresh and had a lingering peanut oil aftertaste. They said it was cooked in the kitchen, but how long before we actually ordered were they made is the question! If you come here, do not settle for hibachi cooked in the back.
Ugly: The bathrooms were not available to patrons on this night and they had chairs blocking the hallway to them. I asked if there was anywhere I could wash my hands and they simply said "no". Not sure if this was a regular occurrence, but I know their employees must have access to a sink for handwashing unless Ikura wants a visit from the public health department.
Having been to many, many hibachis before, this place was by far the worst I've been to.
Do not come here. Buyer beware!
