I recently had the pleasure of dining at Trattoria Bella Vita, a charming Italian restaurant tucked away in the heart of the city, and it was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was warmly greeted by what I believe was either the owner or the general manager—their genuine enthusiasm set a welcoming tone that instantly elevated my evening. Even though it was my first visit, that personal touch made me feel like a cherished regular who'd been coming for years. We kicked things off with their calamari appetizer, which was fried to golden perfection—crispy on the outside, tender within, and paired with a zesty marinara sauce that had just the right kick. For mains, our waiter enthusiastically recommended the linguine with mussels and the lobster ravioli, and oh boy, was he spot on! The linguine was al dente, swimming in a flavorful broth infused with garlic, white wine, and plump, fresh mussels that burst with briny goodness. The lobster ravioli, meanwhile, was a decadent delight—pillowy pasta pockets stuffed with sweet lobster meat, draped in a creamy sauce that balanced richness with subtle herbal notes. Every bite was a testament to the kitchen's skill. To cap off the meal, we indulged in a perfectly frothed cappuccino and a slice of their heavenly tiramisu—light, creamy layers of mascarpone and espresso-soaked ladyfingers that melted in my mouth. But beyond the outstanding food, what truly made the night unforgettable was the impeccable service. The entire staff paid meticulous attention to every detail, from timely refills to thoughtful check-ins, turning what could have been an ordinary dinner into a memorable experience. We had the pleasure of having our wedding reception at Il Bacco. Our guests are still raving about it. The food, the service, everything was wonderful. Our rooftop cocktail hour had so much food that some of our guests thought that was the actual dinner; only to find out in the banquet room there was a full service sit down dinner served, as well! Drinks were also great and flowing all night. We had an amazing night. We highly recommend checking out this venue for your events.

Had a lovely visit! The atmosphere is definitely the standout feature (4/5)—it’s a beautiful and vibrant space that’s perfect for a night out or a social gathering. The food and service were both solid and consistent (3/5). Overall, a reliable 4-star experience for the vibe and the environment alone.

Saturday early evening we had a family gathering to celebrate a recent engagement… a family owned business and they treat you like family from the valet to dinner through dessert … the food was delicious and served perfectly for our large group. Decorated to perfection for the holidays … if you ever want a yummy perfect dinner / lunch treat yourself to celebrate here. The Staff so attentive and welcoming as are the owners … it’s cozy , relaxing atmosphere with so much charm .. we love it here and so will you. So many selections to choose and every dish was delicious… Thank you for treating us so well every-time we have been there. Highly recommend … if you want to go a little early the bar area is amazing!! Thank you all !! I've been going to this restaurant for years. What I love most, is the owners passion and care for his patrons. The food is delicious and the service is great. You can specify how you like your food to be made, thats if you have special requests. You can not go wrong with the branzino. Let your craving guide you and enjoy the ambience. You will not be disappointed.

i was here for an engagement party yesterday and was so pleased with the service i had to leave a review. as an individual with celiac it’s almost impossible to attend celebrations where i can eat safely. however, the staff at il bacco went above and beyond to accommodate me. giving a special thanks to the banquet manager nicola who went out of his way to prepare separate gluten free food for me that was safe and delicious. although they don’t specialize in gluten free, for this instance the staff was adequately prepared and it meant a lot to me. this place deserves all the recognition! besides the food the place itself was lovely and we had a great time celebrating.

Had not been to this restaurant in almost 20 years. Went on Saturday with family. Restaurant had been remodeled and is very pretty. Music was too loud and it felt like a disco. Ordered family style hot apps and it was delicious. Time for dinner and 3 of us ordered seafood risotto special and 2 mushroom risotto. We asked the waiter to bring a cup of marinara sauce because the risotto was tasteless. That helped a but not great. We were disappointed with the food. Service on the other hand was amazing. Don't think we will be returning.

Great place to bring your date or family. Nice ambiance and the service was excellent, very attentive and friendly. The food was decent, we had the seafood risotto which was mid but I loved the calabrese pizza.

I need to start this review off by saying that the owner, Joe, told my mother to "Smile." She is here attempting to celebrate her father's life and this insensible owner had the nerve to tell a woman to smile. Disgusting. Boy was this far from anything celebratory. I personally felt like a waitress myself, as I needed to go find someone who works at this place to tell them how many more dishes were required. Out of 5 tables, no one got the same assortment of appetizers. The single waiter for a party of 40 began taking dinner orders before a single drink was served. They attempted to tell us "it's a lot of people" like they were clueless a large party was coming for a funeral luncheon. Having worked in the service industry myself, I know this is far from acceptable. My mother was told to pay in pay in cash because somebody "knows a guy at Il Bacco" and we would be treated right. Ha! If you happen to be reading reviews looking for a place to host a large party, please keep scrolling and move on to the next... unless you're looking to be disappointed and extremely underwhelmed. The atmosphere was very nice but the food was average. The service was also average, maybe they didnt have enough waiters for a weeknight but it was hard to get hold of someone when needed. They were nice just not available.

Terrific spot for any type of celebration! There's a huge event space upstairs -- perfect for any private event. The downstairs space, adorned with rustic, Italian decor, is capacious and ideal for a cozy dinner. Came here for a birthday celebration in which the upstairs private space was reserved. It fit about 10 tables, with more than enough room to move around. There was an open bar of wine, sangria and beer. We had a prefix menu consisting of an app, 1 entree and an assortment of desserts. Got to try the tortellini tartufata, chicken marsala, and veal. These were all delicious dishes cooked perfectly. Chicken and veal were tender and the tortellini was al dente with a truffle sauce that dressed it so pleasantly. The sangria was dangerous because it was so delicious and refreshing. Ordered a gnocchi to go and they were pillowy soft and absolutely heavenly. They gave such a loaded amount for $24. Hard to beat their portion size and prices IMO. The experience here was exceptional and the restaurant staff were extremely welcoming. Highly recommend for those who are seeking a lovely evening!

Had a lovely Mother's day dinner here w the fam and it was absolutely impressive. Our waiter, who I can consider an OG, recited the menu of the day like a real pro. Courteous and friendly. Ambiance was casual although you can dress to the nines if you wanted to and still be okay. If you wanted to impress anyone then this place would be great. Food was good. Price was considerate and VALET PARKING on the site.

I went here for my grandma's 80th birthday and WOW, I can't say enough good things about this place. Our server was AMAZING. He was great about suggesting items on the menu and letting us know what all the specials were that day and was extremely helpful. The restaurant as a whole, was very accommodating. We had a cake, centerpiece and party favors that we wanted to bring and put on the table and they let us arrive a few minutes before our reservation to set up. The food was amazing! I had the penne vodka and the portion size was perfect. I also had a Moscow mule to drink, and aside from it not being in a copper cup, it was great! The restaurant itself gives a very comfy and homey vibe and everyone from the servers to the managers made us all feel like we were family.

So we went back to this restaurant based on our first experience (See older review). Parked on the street, waited inside by the bar area for a table (no reservation this time) and was seated to the left where it was very crowded. The young man who seated us was very kind. The chairs of the tables around us were all touching ours and the wait staff had to sliver past everyone. Our table was wobbly and had a weird shape to it under the table cloths which made some plates not sit flat. No big deal. The elderly waiter was just going through the motions and had no interest in being there, or so it seemed. Complete opposite of what we encountered during our first visit. He was slow to the table and didn't check on us until we called him over. His jokes were a bit inappropriate with kids at the table. On to the food... I couldn't wait to have the Chicken Parm again. It was mouth watering delicious the first time. So I ordered it again. The dish came and it was disappointing. The chicken was smaller, smothered in cheese to the point where you couldn't even find the chicken and it was SO. SALTY!! I drank water for the rest of the night and the following day to try and get the saltiness out of my mouth. There was some sore of bland cold potato croquette on the plate instead of fresh potatoes. Left it on the plate. Two other guests had issues with the food. One was a special request of having an appetizer made to be meal sized. We were told no problem. It came out as an appetizer but we were charged for a meal. The other issue was a seafood dish in a white wine sauce? (I don't recall the name). My sister thought she was going to bite into a scallop or piece of calamari but no....every other bite was a piece of garlic. She had to pick it out and actually filled a bread dish with over 25 pieces of garlic. Not little pieces, large enough to mistake it for seafood! Yes, we spoke up to the waiter who didn't seem to care and had to leave the table after the complaint. When he came back, he offered to remake the food, but after waiting an hour for the first round, we declined. Dessert was ok. I watched reels of the "chefs" cooking on their Facebook page. Needles to say, we won't be rushing back. I'm sad because the first time was so memorable, in a good way. I wonder what changed...

I've come here twice so far. The first time was for a private even on the rooftop for a family member's surprise bday party. The rooftop is very spacious and beautiful with beautiful views. I love that they have an elevator which was helpful for the elder guests and those with little children. The staff were very nice and accommodating. The organizer/host of the event opted for a pizza bar which was a great appetizer and perfect for the little kids. I loved that the pizza oven was right there, the pizzas kept getting cranked out piping hot right from the oven. Honestly, we all would've been happy with just that, the pizzas were delicious with perfectly crispy undersides. The buffet spread was beautifully presented and I tried a little of everything and it was all delicious. All in all it was a memorable experience which leads me to my most recent visit. Recently my family and I came as a last minute early lunch to celebrate my uncle's birthday. We initially were going to go someplace closer to us(let's call them RR) but that RR had multiple parties and the staff didn't seem like they wanted to seat us, they said "we're setting up for 3 parties... you can wait 45mins for when we open and MAYBE we'll have space for you.. but we might not." Tbh, they were borderline rude, so I called Il Bacco to see if they would be able to accommodate us, the woman on the phone said: "Of course! But we don't open for another 40mins, (which was fine bc we still had to make our way there) but we would love to seat you". We got here just as they were opening and the staff was so polite and welcoming. We were a party of 7(including two kids), our waiter was cheerful while describing the specials for the day and there was quite a lot. My son kept interrupting him and he could've been dismissive but he wasn't, he addressed my son in a playful manner that let my son feel heard. We placed our orders and it didn't take too long for our food to come out. He checked in on us a couple times to make sure everything was ok and to refill our waters. Everything we ordered was excellent, I'll include a list below. One we were done they packed our left overs and I had brought a small cake for my uncle's birthday, I forgot candles but they luckily offered the ones they had which I really appreciate. The restaurant was mostly empty(remember we got there literally the minute they opened) but they had everyone sing to my uncle which was nice. They provided us with little plates and utensils and I cut the cake and served. Most places have a cutting fee but they didn't charge us, idk if that's bc the cake was tiny or bc I cut and severed it myself. Either way, I wouldn't have minded bc they did bring out plates for us. What was ordered during family lunch: -Fried Calamari-perfectly fried, soft and not at all chewy -Chicken rollatini (special of the day)- chicken breast(tender) stuffed with ricotta & spinach topped with sautéed mushrooms, steamed carrots & string beans and a potato croquette -Lasagna con Vitello: Veal lasagna: soooo good -Pasta special: parppadelle with lobster, shrimp & clams in a light tomato sauce -Pizzas: one margherita & one bosca: peppers and mushrooms -Spaghetti Picchi: mushrooms in a tomato sauce -kids penne vodka (half portion) -two coffees Total including tip came out to about $260 which really isn't bad at all for a party of 7. We were so glad we ended up coming here, the food was delicious, the staff were so nice and welcoming, and the restaurant is huge and beautiful. I've walked by this place a handful of times and the parking lot is full. Figure we give this place a try. Food was good. Some dishes could have used a bit more seasoning but overall it's good. Service was amazing. They were attentive. The place was a bit more on the older style and dark. Wish it was a bit more well lit. Will definitely come back to try other dishes.

Came here for a birthday dinner with a big group on a busy Saturday night. Valet parking was a nice touch, and the place had a lively vibe. We started with the clams and pasta appetizer--zesty with a bold lemon flavor that I really enjoyed. Unfortunately, the entrees took quite a while to come out (about 45 minutes to an hour). I ordered the rigatoni Bolognese and... let's just say it missed the mark. The pasta was dry, lacked flavor, and felt like it had been sitting out. Not something I'd order again.

The 6 of us had a great experience last night. The owner Joe was at his best. Years ago, I used to work out at Golds Gym in Bayside. A true gentleman and host! Our waiter Martino was terrific and the food was delish. I highly recommend Il Bacco!!!!

Came here for dinner the other day and this was a decent place. Pros: + Food is amazing! Il Bacco is the perfect place to hold your next event! There's tons of space and great food to match. Whether it's a business dinner or date night spot, it's definitely a go-to in Queens/Long Island.

Strange how tastes and sounds can transport one back decades to their childhood. It feels more like Giuseppe "Joe" the owner, is personally welcoming you at his home, albeit one with a magnificent dining room, for dinner. He sits at your table and then you catch up on all that's happened in the world. Pour a good Amarone and savor some excellent Italian food that Nona's prepared lovingly. All is well with the world again after dining here, a true respite from daily nonsense. Did I mention that ALL the food was really, really good too? Apologies for the poor photos, we were too busy enjoying everything to worry about getting good pix. Thank you Joe and Dorelle for a great evening!

This is our favorite neighborhood restaurant! Excellent food and service. They all go out of their way to make us feel at home. We are treated like family here.

Has valet parking because it's needed, although you can park free about a block to the north. Interior is dark. Still remains an excellent choice for Italian. Cuisine. Expensive but worth it, although $15 for a glass of Chardonnay? Great service. Lots of welcome appetizers. If order coffee, get a good digestif. Can get noisy when fills up.

Old school Italian decor with a roof too! I attended a party recently and had the pizza, which was just OK, but the service was pretty good. I won't be running back, but will definitely give it another chance.

Added more photos - pork, shrimp, pasta and chicken - delicious as always!! They also offered dessert and after dinner drinks for our birthdays such a nice touch!

We tried Il Bacco and had for our appetizer pasta with vodka sauce which was very good. We the had a radicchio , strawberry and walnut salad. My entree was veal with tomato sauce covered with mozzarella, much like a veal Parmigiana, which our server said was the best dish. My wife prefer salmon with white wine and caper sauce. All the food was tasty but not something special. The service was good but not outstanding. We had to constantly ask for water! The dining room was decorated nicely and the vibe was lively, but the temperature was freezing. While we enjoyed our dinners, the restaurant is not worth the half-hour drive we took to get there. As a neighborhood restaurant, it seems Il Bacco would be a very nice dining experience.

They charged us dessert when we did not order-- an extra 15 dollars. The service was super slow. They took almost 10 to get our check.

I had dinner Saturday at 530pm with my fiancé and my parents. Our waiter was Vinny A, and he was absolutely great. Super attentive with refilling drinks and making great suggestions for the specials. As an appetizer, we had the eggplant rollatini and we also ordered baked clams. Both were very good, no complaints. As our main course, both my father and I ordered the Chicken Rollatini special. This was chicken wrapped around sausage, with a mushroom sauce. It came with a potato croquette and veggies. My fiancé had penne vodka with grilled chicken, and my mother ordered chicken parm. We were very delighted with the entire meal.

I have been a long-time customer of this restaurant and enjoyed many a good dinner here; however. my more recent visits have been fewer as I have found the service and the food increasingly inconsistent. Often, the service seems rushed and the food only so-so. There are times though when the old magic returns, and the place serves up some of the best Italian dishes to be had anywhere. Unfortunately, I don't like playing roulette with my dinners, and so my visits will become rarer still.

Now this place was astounding. First floor bar and restaurant was enticing; no question. The upper private room was wonderful for a he party of 60-70 people, definitely. But the food & service sets this place apart! A city (ish) site and valet parking is a plus right off the bat. I don't know how many people enjoyed this CD across the room but there were three at my table and at least that many more that RAVED about it!! Usually there is 30 seconds between not yet and TOO LONG but this restaurant knows how to do it right!! Magnificently tender with a wonderful sauce. If the bread wasn't warm, soft and delicious I would have licked the plate! And as if veal is not difficult enough to time, they also smashed the calamari out of the park. I cannot recommend higher.

We had a 50th Birthday party on Saturday evening, (Feb. 1, 2025) it was marvelous. The attention of the staff, food, and atmosphere was over the top. Many complements from the guests. thank you all for a wonderful time. Barbara

Came on a Saturday night and it was busy. The service was not lacking. Staff came by frequently to check on our party. The food was great. So many classic Italian dishes to choose from. Would come back to try more.

I don't know why this would be anyone's favorite restaurant. I can't believe I wasted $199.99 at this dump. Repeatedly.

Have came to this place a few times within the last few years. The ambiance you notice is very nice and classy upon walking in. All the staff here is very friendly as well and go above and beyond for their customers. Service is certainly a 10/10 each time. Now, for the food. It's just okay. Nothing spectacular. My friends and I have ordered a vast number of pasta dishes from here and overall thought the food was just average. The meat sauce with the pasta I ordered lacked taste the both times I came. Although the food was okay, I did like that this restaurant had a pretty extensive wine menu. Overall, a decent experience.

On a busy Saturday night it can be quite loud. But the service is on point. Very good service and the workers are always very attentive. The appetizer was very good and the sauce is amazing! Wow! The Manhattan drink that was made by the bartender Anthony was very good!! The sauces of the food are amazing! Would definitely come here again. I don't know how it's only rated 3.5 stars. Great place!

The baked clams and the Calamar are DELICIOUS. they are so fresh and id go back for more just on that alone. the rest was good too inside was very clean welcoming service was super nice and accommodating very nice restaurant

My husband and I decided to come with two of our friends for dinner tonight. They always brag about this restaurant so we decided to come. I am SO happy we did. As soon as we walked in the owner Joe greeted us with a warm welcome. We got seated just in time for the rush that came behind us. The waiter Darnell (I believe that's how you spell it) was absolutely amazing! Extremely helpful with the specials and so kind and sweet. He really was one of the best waiters I have dealt with in a restaurant and I go to many places. He gets a 10/10 from me! The food was amazing and were great portions. They start each table off with delicious green olives, cheese, and with bread (we added in the prosciutto). The baked clams came 6 to a order so we got two orders. Three of us ordered the specials which all sounded delicious and I ordered the peens vodka with shrimp. I was definitely impressed that our waiter could remember the long list of specials hahaha! Needless to say all of our meals were delicious and cooked great. The cappuccinos and dessert were a great way to top off our dinner. The amazing atmosphere, decor, and friendly atmosphere exceeded my expectations. Thank you all for our amazing experience! I will definitely be back!

This is the first time I've been here and we will definitely be returning., We were seated within minutes of entering without reservation even though the restaurant was very busy. The waiter brought water, green olives, cheese and a bread basket right away and then the drinks ( Expresso Martini for them and a Cosmopolitan for me) were brought quickly to the table BUT No menu.......yet, After we had to ask for the menu, it dawned on me that this was a very cool laid back Italian Restaurant that didn't rush the customers in and out.......which we very much appreciated We ordered the Penne Vodka and Chicken Scarpariello.....both were huge portions and we shared them among 3 people with plenty left over for a doggy bag. The penne vodka was delicious......how can you mess this dish up? The chicken scarpariello was good although I've never had this particular dish before so I had nothing to compare it to‍. The service was impeccable and the waiters (plural) were very attentive once we received the menus and placed our order. After the dinner plates were removed, the waiters brought Alec & Kels each an expresso with a bottle of Romana Sambuca and left the bottle at the table.....I was flabbergasted Apparently the Sambuca was to be poured into the espresso...... which they did a few times The decor was beautiful although dimly lit and the atmosphere was boisterous & a little loud but still an upbeat fun atmosphere. The restaurant had valet parking which was great because on a Saturday night in Little Neck...... finding a parking spot on the street would have been difficult if not impossible. The restrooms are downstairs BUT they have an elevator in addition to the stairs. The restrooms were pretty and very clean I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion. There was a large birthday party and I believe a 40th wedding anniversary celebration going on & both were accommodated easily.

Once again celebrated my birthday here and as usual it was an amazing experience. From start to finish it couldn't be better. The appetizers and our meals were all excellent. And the non-stop olives and Grano Padano had me hooked! Got the special soft shell crabs which were delicious! The wait staff and of course Joe the owner make you feel like your eating in their home. Always a treat!

What a nice night I had with my family at ll bacco. Food and service was great. The waiter was very nice and polite to my family and I. Food was served hot and big portions. The restaurant is very clean for such a big place. Even the restrooms were very clean. We will definitely be back for the holidays-of 2022.

Went to try this restaurant since GF was in the mood for Italian. We walked in and was seated quickly Kay. Waiter came and wanted to know which wine we wanted to drink. Ok, may I have the wine menu first? Oh but we have anything you want...you want a bottle? Ah..still . wine menu first? Got the menu bottle prices..do you sell by the glass? Oh yeah ..Cabernet then pleas. This is the first dialog with the waiter. Kidding me right? Now for the food, two entrees ..waiter wants to know about the appetizers..well did I order any? The food came and the waiter never came back to check. In fact, once the dishes were taken away, he passed several times without stopping to check, I had to stop and ask for a desert menu. Never came around to check if I wanted the check until I asked for it. I usually tip 20 % but for this piss poor service which I think is due to the fact that we are the only Asians in the joint, I was still generous to gave 15% since I didn't want the water boys and runners to lose out. If you are no white I would not recommend this place since it seems they don't really care to cater to any other ethnicity.

We booked online for 15 to host my son's graduation lunch. I cannot say enough about the excellent food, attentive service, and accommodating staff. Although we arrived very early, the staff, especially our terrific host, greeted us warmly and made us feel so welcome. Every dish was fresh, well-balanced, and infused with authentic deliciousness. The atmosphere is soothing and lovely. I highly recommend!! Wine and excellent cocktails in abundance. The wait staff is top notch.

Everything was great. The food was amazing. The staff were so attentive and friendly!! It was a perfect evening with friends and family and the place was cozy and beautiful.

I came here for a bridal shower and I had an absolute wonderful time. The building was beautiful and the staff was so polite and sweet. Everyone had a great time. They had a beautiful room for the shower. We had an open mimosa/beer bar. The mimosas were tasty. We had tasty hors d'oeuvres such as meatballs, shrimp, stuffed mushrooms, etc. all were so good! We had a plate of penne ala vodka which was very good! We moved onto a Cesar salad which was as good as a salad could be. For the main course we had a choice of veil, eggplant parm, chicken, or swordfish. I ordered the swordfish which was amazing! So delicious. Which came with string beans and potatoes. Totally recommend this place! For a shower or party of any kind. Also they have a beautiful downstairs area for lunch and dinner.

I went with some friends last night for dinner. The food was delicious. The service was top notch. The reason for the 3 stars is that I could not enjoy my food because of the disgusting stench of cigar smoke from the cigar party in the upstairs room. If they can't figure a way to filter the smoke, they need to close the restaurant to regular diners on nights when they have this event.

I'm very sorry to have to review this place so low but wow, what a disappointment! I went to a shower on the second floor. First of all the food is not what it used to be. The calamari were rubbery, clams were not fresh and literally smelled, pasta gave me agita as the sauce was horrible and even the fish dish, other people at the table complained that it was not fresh. There is literally one room for the ladies bathroom so if you have a party, prepare for a long line. They are overpriced and sad to say but the quality has gone down. I don't think they cook their own food for catering because in all fairness, the actual restaurant food was a notch better but I would never ever host a party here. They were also stingy with the portions.

Had a birthday lunch for my girlfriend today. While service often makes the dining experience and todays service was great,the star today was what I ate. Veal filled lasagna was the best I-have ever eaten. Generous portion. Moist and covered in a sinful amount of cheese. I live in Florida, but come to Queens five or six times a year and I have dined at Il Bacco maybe a dozen times and never been disappointed. Can't say enough good things about this classy, old fashioned place.

My favorite Italian restaurant I had there special lobster ravioli the sauce they used was awesome and topped with tons of shrimp too it was so delicious

Amazing staff and food. Had baby shower and was extremely happy with their attention to everything. Been there before and knew their menu is well above average. Very affordable and accommodating

Came here for a birthday party - we were upstairs and the space was beautiful! The food was buffet style but SO flavorful. Would definitely come here to see how service/dinner is.

The staff were all attentive and friendly but the food was standard. They have an old Italy vibe inside and outdoor seating has a nice ambiance. But, I wouldn't come back for the food.

Went to Baco for dinner and a show the service was terrible. The never came to ask you if you wanted to drink I had to chase the waitress down. We were told to be there by seven for dinner. The show was supposed to start at eight we never got our dinner until 915 by that time everybody's the table famished. They didn't even bring bread until 830. I said getting a drink was impossible. I called the restaurant to talk to the manager several times he never called me back. Needless to say because of that attitude I'll never go back.

Place was great and the service was great, however, my buddy ended up very sick after eating the chicken parmigiana.. like very sick!! Maybe for poisoning!
