Il Capestrano Ristorante Abruzzese

I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant Il Capestrano in southern suburb of Milano next to Fondazione Prada. It serves delicious regional food from Abruzze region (east of Rome) with high focus on lamb, mouton. The grilled lamb meat and the mouton tartar were memorable. Everything was very good. Service was welcoming and professional.

I started with the antipasto platter, a delightful array of cured meats that we were told to eat in order that set the tone for a delicious meal. The standout for me was the house-made pasta, it was a rich and savory masterpiece, and the meats were very tender and perfectly cooked. The attentive and knowledgeable staff made the dining experience even more enjoyable. They were more than willing to offer recommendations and share stories about the restaurant's history and the region's culinary traditions. To top it all off, the wine list featured an impressive selection of Italian wines, perfectly complementing the flavors of the food. I couldn't resist indulging in a glass of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, which paired beautifully with my meal. I've been in Milan for two days, and I put a lot of effort into finding the right restaurant. Good food is crucial to me on this trip. This place was fantastic, from the service to the bread and entrees. As I ate, I couldn't help but think, "This is the best food I've ever had."

A magical place in Milano! Little off city center, but it’s worth it. Amazing food, everything was wonderful, especially the eggplant starter dish. The staff were kind and the rest of the food was also great and not that expensive at all. Overall great VFM

Perfect meal, worth the money! The 2 starter we ordered were fantastic, the cold cuts pork is rich and tasty, their bestseller eggplant is amazing:) We enjoyed the homemade pasta, the selection of 3 desserts were great choice:). The staff are helpful and friendly, dishes were fast served. It took us 1 hour on the way arriving this restaurant, it was totally worth this experience! We are happy for this meal:)

A little gem in Milano! Little off city center, but it’s worth it. Amazing food, everything very delicious. Personal favorite was the eggplant appetizer. Everything home made! I very much recommend it.

Everything was very delicios served by young people with grand finesse! The wine was perfect for the sheep tartar! So inpressed by the restaurant and happy by the luck of coming incidently.
