Where To Eat & Drink In Paso Robles - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"It doesn’t take a love therapist to realize that Paso Robles and its surrounding wine country are romantic. Most people roaming around are with their significant others for a quiet weekend away, and you probably are too. If you’re looking to keep the extracurriculars rolling, head to Il Cortile. The upscale Italian restaurant has a traditional menu full of antipasti, meats, and pastas (you need the wild boar pappardelle in your life), and the biggest wine list in town. Corkage is only $20 if you feel like bringing that bottle you bought earlier today." - Brant Cox

Amazing service! Amazing food! Great wine list! We had artichoke soup for the first time - creamy and delicious! Then the stuffed quail and spaghetti with clams, shrimp and bottarga for me - so flavorful and perfectly cooked! Seared scallops and the pork ossobuco for my husband - he said it was sooooo good!! Everything was so tasty and well cooked. Kudos to the chef!! Emily, the hostess, was so gracious, accommodating and helpful. We sat at the bar and Crystal, the bartender, was so attentive, had great recommendations, and excellent service. You have two gems with them. Would highly recommend and look forward to returning! PS - forgot to take photos - just the empty plates!! 😂

Google
Came a highly recommended place and I will forward the same that anyone visiting. We thoroughly enjoyed the zucchini blossoms to begin with and journey on to pastas to panna cotta. Being a vegetarian the chef created a concoction of spicy zesty sauce and created a wonderful dish. The truffle ricotta is truly to die for our bunch got seconds of it and was gone in seconds.

We have returned to this restaurant four times. It is our favorite restaurant when visiting. We have dined indoor twice and outdoor twice. We prefer outdoor dining as it is less noisy and stuffy. Echo inside the indoor dining makes it hard to carry out a conversation. Fortunately the food and service are both top notch. It is hard to beat in the area. Prices are also reasonable for a restaurant of this caliber. Parking in the area can be a bit tricky, since it does not have a parking lot. Our go to parking is the bank parking lot. By the time the restaurant opens, the bank is already past its business hours.

Google
My first, but not last visit, to ll Cortile restaurant. I stopped in Paso Robles on my way back home from a trip to Santa Monica. Decided to search for an Italian restaurant with a good review and found ll Cortile. I had a great dining experience from the receptionist who greeted me to my female server/bar tender, as being alone, I sat at the 4-stool bar area. My server/bar tender was friendly, courteous and helpful with helping me make a decision, on not which wine I should try, but with my dinner choice as well. I was pleasantly surprised and satisfied with my dining experience and will make it a point to return for another great meal in the future.

Google
The best decision to make for a refined, Michelin Star-worthy Italian restaurant in the quaint downtown of Paso Robles. Whatever the reason that brings you through Paso Robles and/or to this little town, don't leave without dining at Il Cortile Ristorante. A taste of Italiono without going to Italy.

Google
The food was excellent. I tried a eggplant souffle, that was a 5+. The pasta is made fresh in house and all 4 of us loved our pasta dishes. I had a delicious fresh not too sweet chocolate cake with ice cream for desert. They had an excellent wine list also included a nice choice by the glass. The service was excellent. All 4 of us agreed that I'll Cortile was a great restaurant and made for a wonderful evening.

Google
Food, service and ambience were outstanding. The filet was cooked perfectly and the homemade pasta was flavorful. The black truffle risotto was delicious and comparable to what I had in Italy. Highly recommend for an upscale experience!

My wife and I traveled to Paso Robles to celebrate Valentine’s Day and her birthday. The food, service, and ambiance were outstanding. We loved the grilled octopus appetizer. You could tell that the pasta from each of our main dishes was homemade. The tiramisu was so light and flavorful. We were so glad that we chose to celebrate Valentine’s Day at this restaurant. It exceeded our expectations.

Yelp
One of our favorite fine-dining restaurants in Paso Robles, Il Cortile never fails to impress. The staff, service, and food are all top-notch. I can't begin to tell you how many times we've been here, even during the "Covid days" when dining was moved into the courtyard of the Piccolo Hotel next door. We've stopped in for dinner on several trips this year and have been fortunate to have Nataly wait on us each time, and we'll request her again on our upcoming trip. They have a full bar and make some amazing cocktails. I usually start with an Old Fashioned and my wife will have a glass of wine. The wine list is made up of primarily local wineries, but there's other areas (foreign and domestic) sprinkled in. Corkage fee is $40 with a two-bottle limit per table. One of my favorite tables is the one just outside the kitchen passthrough window. I enjoy the wait staff bringing all the wonderfully prepared dishes by so we can get a front row look at everything. The kitchen staff hustles, and we've never had anything that we didn't love. Some of our favorites are the Fanny Bay Oysters (sold individually), Capesante (seared scallops) and Carpaccio di Tartufo appetizers. They usually have fantastic daily specials like a Pork Osso Bucco with Parmesan Risotto, or a Half Lobster (1-1/2 pounds) with a white wine tomato sauce, as well as all their standard menu items. The portions are generous and quite delicious! Finally, splurge and finish off your meal with one of their fabulous desserts and maybe a glass of Bushong "Sweet Illusions" cream sherry, or Glunz Mission Angelica Solera. We absolutely love Il Cortile and will continue to be loyal customers. I highly recommend that you give them a try.

Yelp
Made a reservation to celebrate my sisters 21st birthday while in Paso Robles. There's only street parking which can be difficult. The actual restaurant is quite small so best to make reservations in advance. The ambiance is dim and warm, not too loud which is good for special gatherings. We ordered the following items: 1. Capesante - 10/10 This was the best scallops I've ever had. They melted in my mouth (literally) and the sauces complemented the seafood so well. It was perfectly seared and didn't taste too fishy or rough. Only con is that the dish only came with three scallops so to add another one, it was $5 each... definitely pricey. 2. Grilled octopus - 4/10 This was disappointing. Despite the beautiful and elegant plating, the octopus itself was hard and chewy. This didn't taste good and is a waste of $23 for such a small amount. 3. Pappardelle Al cinghiale - 6/10 I didn't think much about this dish as it just tasted like normal pasta cooked with beef sauce. The meat was good and the pasta texture was aldente. 4. Pork chop with risotto - 5/10 This tasted just like what my grandma makes when there's leftover pork that's been simmered in soup for a while. Nothing too special and the sauce overpowered it. The risotto was also too heavy and salty, not a huge fan. This was a nice celebration for my sister but we wished they gave some complimentary dessert since we did mention it was for her birthday.

Yelp
I've been to Il Cortile before, but this last visit with a slightly bigger group was just as amazing, if not better. We were taken care of so well from start to finish. This place is on the smaller side, so if you're planning to come here for the first time, I highly recommend making a reservation. It's intimate, cozy, and the kind of spot where every detail matters. We started off with the fiori di zucca fritti, which I had never tried before and loved, super flavorful and such a fun way to start. For mains, I had the Bistecca, a beautiful rib eye that was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. Someone at our table ordered the lobster pasta, and not only did it taste amazing, but the presentation was gorgeous. I had to get the black truffle risotto again because I loved it last time, and wow, it was just as creamy, rich, and delicious as I remembered. I also got to try the spinach and ricotta gnocchi with gorgonzola dolce and Mighty Cap mushrooms, and that dish was so creamy, flavorful, and comforting. To top it all off, I had their tiramisu, and it was seriously one of the best I've ever had, light, rich, and just freaken good. If you love Italian food, Il Cortile is a must. The food, the service, the atmosphere, it's all so worth it. Come hungry, because you'll want to try everything!

Yelp
So i would rate this place a 5 but they were out of a lot of their hard alcohol brands. For a full service restaurant that part was lacking. They do have a phenomenal wine list though. So wine is the way to go here for sure. The service was also a little slower than I would like but they were busy so I will be forgiving on that. They have a cute outdoor patio to enjoy dinner on with shade which is perfect for summer. We opted for the patio. We got the stuffed squash blossoms. They were super yummy and creamy. These are a must get. We also got the branzino. The crisp skin on the outside and the soft and flakes fish was so good. Then we got the Pappardelle al cinghiale. Pasta was good but the boar was a little tough and dry. The boar was over cooked. The tiramisu was the best I have ever had. I will definitely go back still

Yelp
My husband and I had our first date here a few years ago! It's a great spot for upscale dining near downtown Paso and perfect for an intimate dinner! The location is great and you can find parking on the street

Yelp
Finally, the dining experience we've been searching for and dreaming of! So many restaurants in Paso have been so hyped up to us that they end up falling short, but that was not the case with Il Cortile! We made a reservation, which seems to be a must here because it was jam packed when we arrived. I don't think there was an open seat in the house. Our server Jason was attentive and gave great recommendations. We started with some oysters that were a special for the day and scallops. The scallops were cooked perfectly and served alongside three really delicious sauces. For entrees two of us shared the Pappardelle al cinghiale and Ossobuco, as it had been recommended by multiple people. Everything was delicious and we would absolutely order again, though I am excited to go back and try some other items on the menu.

Yelp
Excellent atmosphere. Ivan, a very professional & very friendly waiter, They made all the appetizers, food, cocktails, & desserts exquisite. We will definitely be back soon.
google avatar

Amber L.

Yelp
The quality of the food here is excellent. We had seats outside which in the heat were not great at 5:30pm The scallops were wonderful, with the side sauces as making this dish shine. The beef carpaccio was different with a layer of cheese on the top. The grilled octopus was so fresh and with the accompaniments was wonderful. Went on to the spaghetti with seafood. It was light and wonderful. Service was attentive and great. The outdoor dining was plain but fine except for the heat. I will be back. .
google avatar

Toni L.

Yelp
A very cute authentic Italian restaurant with handmade pasta in-house. Classy ambiance with outdoor seating for the overflow, there are heat lamps so it's perfect on a cold night. We enjoyed everything we ordered. Although we like our food on our first visit. It was still good but not as a wowzer. Both the hostess and wait staff are professional and friendly. We will be back on our next visit to Paso.

Yelp
Il Cortile came up on several platforms as a top restaurant in Paso Robles downtown and the menu looked delicious! Unfortunately, I thought this restaurant was a little disappointing for me personally. I should start off by saying that the scallops were some of the best I've had at a restaurant. They were seared perfectly on the outside and cut like butter. The different sauces balanced the sweet / salty profile very well! However, the octopus was mediocre. The dish lacked flavor and the octopus was still chewy. The pastas were also only OK. My boyfriend got the wild boar ragu and to be honest, the dish just tasted like Hamburger Helper. I ordered the shrimp and clam dish, and while the shrimp and clams tasted good, the dish had an overwhelmingly fishy taste to it. I understand it's a seafood pasta, but it overpowered the butter and other seasonings (and I normally like fishy)! The service was decent and the ambiance was dim lit and romantic, but overall a little small / busy inside (especially since we were right next to the bar).

Yelp
This was so close to a 5 that I need to give it one, especially considering that I've recently rated other Italian restaurants as 4s and yet Il Cortile blew them away. I know I'm a hard critic. I rate places I really love as 4s unless they're absolutely unforgettable. I don't know at this moment if Il Cortile will be unforgettable in the long run -- but it was pretty amazing tonight. We loved everything-- the romantic decor, our sweet and skilled server who seemed genuinely interested in what we wanted to experience, and, most of all, the delicious food. On the negative side, the noise level was a bit too high and the tables were a bit too close together to actually create a truly "romantic" atmosphere. With that said, it was still lovely and my husband and I didn't need to shout to hear each other. It's just that we could hear conversations among other tables as well. All the food was amazing. I would say that the Crostini Con Burrata is not to be missed, and I'd recommend the Branzino as something delicious and satisfying that still feels light and healthy. On the other end of the spectrum, I'd totally recommend the cannolis as decadent but worth it if you're visiting from out-of-town as we were.
google avatar

Erin A.

Yelp
Delicious food, friendly service, great ambience. Favorites: Carpaccio tartufo (white truffles - sauce was airy not heavy), Pappardelle with Wild Boar, and Spaghetti alla Bottarga. Cannolis were nice and crunchy, piped to order.

Yelp
Phenomenal food and warm hospitality! A friend recommended this place to us, and we're so glad they did. Reservations are required, but the process was super easy online. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel completely welcome. The atmosphere was inviting, and the service was top-notch. We started with their bread and oil--absolutely amazing. For our entrees, my husband ordered the rack of lamb and I had the lobster pasta. Both dishes were perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. Our waitress was very attentive and gave great recommendations. It was a rainy day and we were nervous since there were only reservations available in the outdoor area but it was all enclosed and very well put together. We were warm and it didn't take away from our time there. We'll absolutely be back the next time we're in town!

Yelp
We had an incredible dinner at Il Cortile Ristorante during our visit to Paso Robles and would absolutely return the next time we're in town. From start to finish, every dish was thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. Here's how our meal went: ANTIPASTI Grilled Octopus ($23) - 5/5 Amazing starter! The octopus was grilled to tender perfection, paired with fresh vegetables and a spicy vinaigrette that brought everything together beautifully. Caprese ($23) - 5/5 A refreshing combination of fresh tomatoes, Bufala mozzarella, basil, pesto, and a drizzle of balsamic. The green sauce was so good we ended up dipping our bread in it until the plate was clean. Friendly tip: they do charge an extra $5 for more bread, but it was fresh and absolutely worth it. PRIMI (homemade pastas) Pappardelle al Cinghiale ($33) - 5/5 One of the best pastas we've had--hearty, savory wild boar ragu with perfectly textured pappardelle. The portion was generous and comforting. Pasta Fava ($30) - 3.5/5 A lighter spaghetti dish with fava beans, pancetta, lemon, and cream. It had a subtle, plain flavor profile that might appeal to those who prefer simpler dishes, but it was the least memorable out of the four mains we ordered. Aragosta Tagliolini ($35) - 4.5/5 The lobster and Mighty Cap mushrooms were excellent--fresh and flavorful. The only minor complaint was that we wished it had just a bit more champagne cream sauce to coat the pasta more evenly. Special: Sea Bass with Seasonal Vegetables ($45) - 5/5 Hands down the standout dish of the evening. The sea bass was flaky, buttery, and perfectly seasoned, paired with light, non-overpowering vegetables. Elegant, simple, and done right. DESSERT Tiramisu ($14) - 5/5 As tiramisu fans, we were thrilled. Creamy, balanced, and classic--just how it should be. Berry Tart ($14) - 4/5 Fresh, vibrant berries atop a crisp tart crust. A nice, lighter way to end the meal. AMBIANCE & SERVICE We sat indoors, which had a romantic, dimly lit vibe--perfect for a relaxing evening. The restaurant is on the smaller side, seating around 40 indoors and a bit more outdoors. We made a reservation for a Sunday night and were seated promptly. Parking wasn't too bad--we found street parking around 5:30 PM. Shoutout to Ivan for the solid recommendations that really helped us pick some standout dishes for the night--thank you! Il Cortile exceeded our expectations. The food was high-quality, the atmosphere was charming, and the service was smooth. Definitely a must-visit when in Paso Robles!

Yelp
Top notch place. Sat inside. Service was excellent. Mista salad solid- perfect size. Osso Buco was delicious. Beef cheek ravioli was very rich but good. Pasta w boar ragu was also a winner.

Yelp
Another great dinner! Owner is at the front desk with a welcoming smile and remembered my name. Bread came hot from the oven with a delicate crust on the outside and soft on the inside. Crystal made two excellent raspberry mocktails. Chef's pasta was so tender and flavorful, just delicious! Jason gave me great service from the beginning of the meal all the way theough to the end. Very much recommend!

Yelp
Our great friend who recently visited here with her husband recommended this restaurant to us. We were greeted by a wonderful hostess, who was very friendly and accommodating. Our waiter was impeccable - not annoying, very knowledgeable and was always there if and when we needed him . The food was outstanding. I had family made stuffed calamari back east growing up, and this was my first time having something similar in a restaurant made for me. . it was so out of this world tasty and abundantly filled and stuffed (See photo). I felt like I was eating an Italian/seafood burrito!! I've had Chilean Seabass in many types and kinds of restaurants throughout the years, then here similarly to their stuffed calamari, they supply one that was different and unique from all the rest. It was thinner and flatter than most, it was pan seared, and its garnishes were Michelin Star level of both flavor & design - my mouth is watering right now as I type this review!! My wife had the Pappardelle Pasta with Wild Boar that she stated is the best of the combination that she's ever had. All I can say is that I cannot wait to revisit whatever wineries in Paso Robles, visit with or to whatever friends or family to visit our now #1 absolute best favorite (intentional redundancy for emphasis) restaurant in the Paso Robles region!!!

Anna L.

Yelp
Food barely edible, manager charged me for uncooked meat and said that that is how they serve it. It was the priciest item on the menu. Wine list poor. Service barely ok. I review thousands of restaurants, this one was bad.

Mandy S.

Yelp
The food is was delicious! The truffle risotto was to die for! Highly recommend this place!

Yelp
I am embarrassed to say that this was our first experience at Il Cortile. My wife and I try to have an incredible (bank account transaction inquiry worthy) dining experience as our Christmas present to each other. This one did not disappoint as it also included their White Truffle tasting menu. Our server James was impeccable and knew the menus very well. The food was delicious and it is rare that restaurants allow tables to have a prix fixe menu and a la carte. This was awesome. We waddled out stuffed with many to go boxes. Quite a few regulars too. Do yourself a favor and experience this restaurant! Merry Christmas
google avatar

Yelp
It has been a few years since we've been here, but I recently opted to have my birthday dinner here. We sat out in an enclosed patio that was very cozy and more quiet than the main dining room. Our service was friendly and attentive. I had a risotto special that included black truffle. They offered it in two different sized portions and I ordered the smaller option. It was delicious and had all the rich decadence you would expect from a truffle dish. My husband really enjoyed the pappardelle with boar ragu...I think he would've licked the plate clean if others were not sitting nearby. This was a great choice for my special occasion and I plan on not letting 'years' go by again, before we return.
google avatar

Roshni G.

Yelp
We had a great dinner, but server did forget a few things we ordered. Boar pasta was great, the sweet corn ravioli was a little too sweet to be a main course. Risotto was a special and asked if we could do a small side of it to try, was good but a little salty and even that was $27. Overall it was a delicious dinner but for the price i think we could have has a better experience somewhere else.
google avatar

Zoe B.

Yelp
After looking at all the places to eat we decided to come here while visiting. From the moment we walked in the staff was attentive and gracious! Food was delicious and wish we saved room for dessert. Recommend making reservations as we got one but it was later than I preferred but it worked out!

Yelp
This is a "great night" restaurant. GO THERE -- you will love it!! Low lighting, a pleasant hum, and yummy smells greet you at the door. It's a rather intimate dining experience with a main dining room and some side rooms. It feels cozy even though the dining room was full. Food and drink: There's an open window into the kitchen where you can see the chefs bustling around. The pace of service was relaxed and Missy let us take our time. The extensive wine list mines the best Paso vintages and kicks it up a notch with Italian selections. Missy helped us pick an absolute winner -- a Bouchon blend. The fresh pasta was a star of the show: beet pasta sounds weird but was sublime with a fondutta sauce. The wild boar ragu was a special, served with beautiful pappardelle. Recommendations: Carpaccio was served with truffle oil, the octopus melted in your mouth, and the sea scallops were seared to a salty crunch with tender insides. Don't skip dessert: we tried 3 and they were all wonderful. We had molten chocolate cake, panna cotta with berry sauce, and tiramisu (i usually don't even like tiramisu but I LOVED this one). Thank you Il Cortile for a memorable meal and evening!

Yelp
Saturday night, party of 4, packed resto....let's gooooo... We arrived 15 minutes before our reservation and it was a packed house. Our table wasn't ready and they suggested we visit the roof top bar at the hotel next door. Great recommendation. We were seated in the covered outdoor section of the restaurant. It was well ventilated, clean and comfortable. I felt like I was indoors. Our server was on point and checked on us frequently. At the front check in table, they have reading glasses "Cheaters" to assist those who might have issues reading the menu in dim light...like me. Nice touch. Everyone enjoyed their dishes.. Grilled Octopus - Very Flavorful Scallop Capesante Beef Carpaccio = The best Carpaccio i've had this year. Maximum cheese and mushrooms made this special. Pork Osso Bucco - My friend inhaled this quickly. 12 oz. Ribeye - This was my entree and it was bomb.com....cooked to a perfect medium rare for me. Fettuccine Salsicia Spaghetti Bottarga Tiramisu - On point Panna Cotta - sweet and yum We had a blast and we'll swing by our next Paso Visit for sure...cheers!

Amanmeet S.

Yelp
If in Paso must go here, they have the best truffle risotto and the panna cotta desert ever!!

Yelp
100% outstanding and lovely. Everything about it hits the mark: ambiance, vibe, service, food. Il Cortile gets my 5.0 star rating, and it's well deserved. It's now in my top 3 for Paso. From the wine [5.0], truffle risotto appetizer [4.5], the grilled octopus appetizer [5.0], the halibut (my entree) [4.0], the osso buco [5.0], the squid ink seafood pasta [4.5], the spaghetti alla bottarga [4.0], the branzino [5.0] -- dinner for the five of us, we were in heaven. Yes, I tried everyone's dish! Prices are a little steep, so it's not for everyday dining. -- note: I'm moving to Paso in May. This will be a special place that I/we will come to again and again.

Wes G.

Yelp
I had heard a lot of great things about this restaurant over the years, so I had high expectations. Overall it was good, but nothing as memorable as I would have hoped. Service and ambience were good. Food was very good, but I was hoping to be wowed for the price.

Yelp
We came back after a two year absence and found the restaurant every bit is good as it was two years ago. The pasta is all made in house and is wonderfully fresh and perfectly cooked. We shared beef cheek ravioli that were fantastic. We also had a starter of the beef carpaccio, this time covered with a Rich and creamy cheese with truffles in it. for dessert we had a tiramisu that was wonderfully done. We did enjoy a bottle of my favorite neighbor wine with the dinner. Service was extremely attentive. The room was packed with diners on a Friday night. this is still the best restaurant we have found in the Paso Robles area.

Robert L.

Yelp
My wife and I had a fabulous dining experience! The front of the house, Jeremy, couldn't have been nicer, fielding a change in our plans (inside v. outside) without missing a beat. Sure, we had to wait a few minutes to be seated but he was friendly, informative, thoughtful and respectful of our choice. A+ in that department! After we were seated, our server, Jacob, was nothing short of terrific: knowledgeable about the menu and wine list, honest and informative about the food and considerate of our dietary limits. And now, the food: my wife had a lobster tagliatelle, which was about as delicious as any pasta dish has a right to be. It was matched only by my seafood pasta with botarga, which was about as perfect a dish as one could hope for. All in all, the dinner couldn't have been a more pleasurable experience. Great service, excellent food, great ambiance. I'd return in a heartbeat!

B F.

Yelp
Excellent Would love to come back again. The food was amazing, service great & very cozy.

Yelp
The food is always fabulous and the service is great. Must have reservations and very expensive. Dinner for 4 of us was $600 but worth it. Very special evening.

Yelp
Decided to try Italian on our recent trip to Paso Robles and we were thrilled with our selection. Started off with the Carpaccio tartufo which is a beef tenderloin with parmesan fonduta with shave black truffles. It is to die for. The raw beef melted in your mouth and the sauce was absolutely incredible. Since we were going Italian, we had to go with the pasta. I had the Fettuccine salsicca which was homemade pasta with pork sausage, fennel, fresh tomato, herbs and white wine. There was an empty plate when I was done. The portion was just right. Not too little, not too much. The service was as good as it gets and the ambiance was exactly what you'd expect if you want a great date night.

Yelp
Have you ever been to a dinner where every single part of it was amazing? That's how me and my fiancé felt about Il Cortile. The service: our server was a lady with long blonde hair. I wish I remembered her name because she was awesome! She did an excellent job of explaining the specials, recommending entrees, pacing the meal, and checking on us. Absolutely adored her. The drinks: I love a place with a small, classic cocktail menu. I got the espresso martini - as you can tell by my photo it was perfect. Was not overly sweet and creamy like some of the espresso martinis at other places. Fiancé got the Negroni - also perfect. Appetizers: we got both the octopus and the scallops. I'm not sure which we liked more because both were SO good. The octopus was the perfect texture - I've had octopus so many places and this was one of my top 2. The scallops were the perfect mixture of creamy and crispy. Entrees: We got the osso buco with risotto. The meat was so tender it fell straight off the bone. I loved the risotto. We also got the fettuccine salcicia. This dish wasn't as special but you could tell the noodles were made fresh. Dessert: you can't go wrong with tiramisu. It was fantastic. Will definitely recommend this spot to anyone wanting a nice dinner in paso!

Yelp
Wonderful inviting ambience with exceptional service. Although we were early and the restaurant was crowded, the hostess found a table for us. Ordered an excellent negroni to start and a special endive salad with pine. It's, fennel and arugula topped with fresh shaved Parmesan. Lori enjoyed a hearty vegetarian minestrone featuring an excellent base broth. Enjoyed the lasagne house special with warm Italian bread and truffle butter.

Yelp
As vegetarians the menu was a bit limiting so we were happy when the waiter told us the seasonal risotto was truffle. We also ordered the soup of the day and caprese and gnocchi. The food was good as was the service. However, when the bill came we were SHOCKED to see we were charged $120 for the risotto! Considering most other entrees were priced in the +/- $30 range we were completely unprepared for this. The menu said MP and so the waiter should have disclosed the price when he told us the special, especially if it was four times the cost other menu items. Had he done so we NEVER would have ordered it. When we saw the bill we thought it must be a mistake but were told "I don't set the prices" by our waiter. Nothing was done for us. Nothing offered. I also sent a message on their instagram as I could not find an email for them but go no reply. Here is a tip / if your special's price is not in the menu, the waiter must verbally tell you when offering the special.

Yelp
A beautiful boutique restaurant with a very friendly atmosphere! We sat at the bar and the service was GREAT and the food was OUTSTANDING! The Beef Carpaccio was one of a kind and the pasta dishes were AMAZING!

Yelp
We came expecting to be blown away by some real fresh nouveau Italian food but at the end of the day it felt like Olive Garden. Maybe it was us used to such good food in California had high expectations. The clientele was heavily tipping on the 70+ year old crowd. At 60 I felt young. Service was good. No complaints about that. We had antipasti plates. The wine selection for both domestic and international was also great. We started with octopus and bruschetta. The bruschetta was good enough just didn't wow me. It was a little sweet with lots of balsamic glaze. The octopus was tough to chew. Considering how much seafood they serve you shouldn't screw this up. For the second course we had boar tagliatelle and lobster spaghetti. I thought the boar was perfectly done. But the lobster spaghetti was like a sad version of Italian chain restaurant food. The dish was under seasoned and swimming in sauce. The lobster was overcooked. Tough. The ambiance was decent but kind of busy especially where we sat by the door. A place with the reputation that this place has I expected it to be a couple notches better.

Yelp
My wife and I traveled to Paso Robles to celebrate Valentine's Day and her birthday. The food, service, and ambiance were outstanding. We loved the grilled octopus appetizer. You could tell that the pasta from each of our main dishes was homemade. The tiramisu was so light and flavorful. We were so glad that we chose to celebrate Valentine's Day at this restaurant. It exceeded our expectations.

Yelp
What can I say?! - Great food - we had scallops, pappardelle, and risotto - Dessert - chocolate cake paired with a dessert wine. - Ambiance - cute and cozy but elegant - Service - absolutely wonderful - we were welcomed in by the hostess and our server, Natalie, was beyond professional. We will certainly be back next time we visit Paso Robles.

Yelp
This restaurant needs to improve their training about food allergies. We had New Year's Eve dinner here, and we chose it because they have gluten-free options for my wife, who has celiac disease. Everything went well until dessert. My wife got a cup of tea and I got the tiramisu for myself. When the tiramisu came out, the staff member who brought it asked if we wanted share plates. My wife said, "No thanks, I'm gluten-free, it's just for my husband". The staffer came back a moment later and said, "our tiramisu is actually gluten-free". So my wife had some -- and then that same employee same back again and said, "Sorry, it's not gluten-free after all. The cream is gluten-free but the cake part isn't". So my wife is likely to be sick tomorrow. It took years for her to get normal nutrient absorption back when she was diagnosed about ten years ago. We're glad that employee came back and told us about his mistake. But he didn't seem to tell anyone else. We had to ask our main server to get the tiramisu removed from our check as a compensation; she did that, but her reaction didn't seem very concerned. We wouldn't recommend this restaurant for anyone with food sensitivities or allergies.

Yelp
Another amazing meal! This is by far the most consistent restaurant in Paso. We also had the filet, cooked to perfection and the tiramisu was delicious.

Yelp
Fettuccine could have used a bit of creaminess. It was a bit dry as you can see from the photo. Shaved truffle was like pencil shavings. Rough texture and lacking flavor. There was an option for chicken or shrimp. I requested sea scallops. Was told the chef would not do that. No scallops on this dish. They did have a seared scallop appetizer, but she said the flavors were not complementary so they refused to put it together. Air conditioner was blowing on the food so It was cold before I enjoyed half of it. I will take it home sear some scallops in butter and white wine and find out if I agree with them. Actually, I thought the scallops helped the dish. After sitting overnight, the truffle was not quite so woody still no truffle flavor, though. But a little butter, a little milk moistened the remaining pasta and I enjoyed it.

Yelp
Great ambiance, service and food. We had the grilled octopus (not shown) and the scallops starter. We had the Branzino and lamb chops. Ended with a berry tart. Our guests brought a Rosso bought back from Italy. Great meal!

Yelp
Located a block away from the park in Downtown across the street from Spearhead Coffee. It's highly recommend that you make reservations as the place is not that big and fills up on the weekends. We ordered the grilled octopus, osso buco & veal chop. I have to say that all 3 dishes was fantastic. The octopus was so tender and seasoned well. It's grilled perfectly because you get the grilled flavor from the ends of the tentacles. The sauce and veggies was fantastic. I wish they give you more meat though, but the portions is pretty on point with other establishments. The osso buco was fork tender and it came with a side of risotto. Let me tell you, the meat portion was pretty substantial. Wasn't gamey or anything and the tomato sauce breaks up the creaminess of the risotto. Although it didn't come with truffles like the full risotto dish comes with. The veal chop was cooked medium rare and did not have any gaminess either. It was super tender and seasoned perfectly. I like the crust from the flat top. It was accompanied with a porcini cream sauce that was also delicious. The service was and staff was great throughout the night. Oh, one more thing, the bread basket they give you was so good. Nothing like crusty fresh bread. Nice and chewy. But keep in mind that if you want more bread, it's going to cost you an extra $5. I did wish they gave you more than 4 small pieces to start out with. That's my only knock for this restaurant. This will be on my list when visiting Paso.

Yelp
Wayyyy overpriced. But good food, great service. Had the Osso Bucco special. Was very tasty. Accompanying orzo with black truffles waz good but so rich was hard to finish. Berry tart for desert was good. This is probably not a place I would visit frequently because food was very rich and pricey, but great special occasion place.

Yelp
Absolutely horrible. Combative staff that are incredibly rude to families. Do not recommend.

Yelp
It was just okay. I accidentally booked this restaurant, and it did not impress. The food was average. They only have one salad on the menu, and that isn't even good. We were a group of four, and the table was so tiny. I wouldn't recommend it. The drinks were okay, and the wine list wasn't great. I'd pass for the $$$.

Yelp
What a gem of a place -- we absolutely loved our experience. Phenomenal food and exceptional service! We're definitely coming back!
