10 Best Bars for Miami Winters | Eater

"Behind the Mondrian South Beach Hotel, you can tuck into a tropical feast at the Mondrian Caffé. The restaurant’s views of Biscayne Bay create moments to remember, but it’s the menu that’ll have you coming back for more. Inspiration from Hawaii and Japan means sushi dishes appear alongside barbeque, and at the cafe’s Sunday brunch, you can match a cheesy, molten omelet with bottomless Grey Goose Bloody Marys. How’s that for paradise?" - Marcy Franklin

Ordered a decaf latte and the apple Danish. The pastries are good and decibel made fresh. And the coffee was good too just both way overpriced. The latte i got way more milk than coffee compared to others that i get. I couldnt even taste the coffee. The oat milk they have is a good one though. They have protein smoothies and other things that look good here but the price is crazy. $7 for a small (what they call large 12oz) and $6 for a pastry. The place is also quite small with limited seating.

Google
This place was right off ocean drive. Croissants were authentic Italian style, not French. We ordered a latte on ice and it was so weak. Would have been better if it was stronger. Disappointing as Italian coffee shops are usually so good for coffee. We also ordered a fruit smoothie and it was fresh and delicious. Service was good.

Google
A Beautiful little Caffe on Ocean drive. Definitely check reviews before you shop or buy any food. This place came up near our hotel and we loved it. Cute, dante place, great service too. Most definitely recommend for a breakfast spot to start your day. Thank you for the Dante Cafe experience. 💫

Great coffee Cappuccino was delicious. Lavender flavor and oat milk tastes good in the coffee. Bakery items are fresh Outdoor dining area available

Google
I ordered an iced latte, and it was really good, smooth and refreshing, just what I needed. The atmosphere is cozy and perfect for a quick break. The only thing that could improve is the service; the server could’ve been a bit friendlier, but overall, it was a nice experience. Would definitely come back for the coffee!

Google
Very kind and welcoming. I love the matcha iced latte and the chocolate croissant. Everything was so delicious. This is one of my favorite cafes so far that I’ve visited in Miami. I would come back again for my next vacation trip :).

Google
The coffee was alright but not the best we've ever had. The atmosphere was casual and fun- a lot of choices for food and beverages and affordable prices. Overall, the staff were short with us and rushed because of the volume of people there at the time; we waited awhile to take out. The location is excellent and perfect for walking along Ocean drive. Easy access to a lot of hotels and the beach.

Google
An affordable avocado toast that BLEW ME AWAY. It was simple, there were no bells or whistles, but the bread was absolutely amazing. Really nice crunch, really nice flake, really nice softness too. Avocados were delicious and topped with some nice oil too. For $7 it’s hard to do this good in Miami Beach. Açaí bowl was aight, I’d recommend the toast more.

Yelp
Great matcha! A quick stop to beat the heat on south beach. There were lots of folks working from there so seems like a locals favourite as well.

Yelp
We came here booth mornings during our quick visit to South Beach. Delicious strong coffee and empanadas. Sadly they only have one size of coffee (please add bigger cups!) But we loved the vibe and would definitely recommend and return!

Anya M.

Yelp
Cute cafe, we got ham and cheese croissant, salmon bagel, and avocado toast. We liked everything. Good for breakfast. Iced matcha and coffee were tasty as well.

Yelp
This was a cute spot near our hotel to grab coffee and breakfast before leaving for the airport. I found it on Yelp and realized we had walked past it multiple times, but didn't notice it. The guys working were so friendly and patient. I was amazed listening to people speak so many different languages to place their order! I got an iced americano and unfortunately it was SUPER weak. I wonder if it was just one shot of espresso and water? It was fine, but I needed another coffee immediately after. My boyfriends latte was also basically just milk. I ordered eggs and they came on toast. My boyfriend got a bagel with cream cheese. The order took 30 minutes to be ready and I had to ask for silverware, napkins, and a bag to take everything back with me. Friendly service and cute spot, but would recommend just getting straight espresso next time.

Yelp
Great location and tasty coffee. Service was friendly and fast. Wasn't too busy on a Wednesday morning. They had several pastries and sandwiches as well, though I did not get the opportunity to try them.

Yelp
Iced latte and double shot of espresso were very tasty!! Espresso had great flavor! Would highly recommended!

Yelp
Located on 8th street just west of Ocean Drive the place is a tiny cafe with a nice but simple breakfast menu. It has a few tables inside, a couple outside and counter stools. We opted for a couple of smoked salmon bagels with avocados and a couple of freshly squeezed OJ. The service was polite and attentive and the food the perfect simple breakfast. Also much less expensive than all of the restaurants on Ocean Drive.

Yelp
The name "Il Dante Caffe" is very deceptive. You think you're going in and getting Italian coffee and food, you come in greeted by Puerto Ricans that serve you ham and cheese on focaccia bread that you could buy and assemble yourself from Publix. I got the prosciutto sandwich, ended up getting ham? Service was subpar. They gave me a bag of chips with my breakfast sandwich. Weird place. Don't come.

Yelp
The double espresso was good and not burnt. I didn't order food here but the espresso was good. The coffee shop has some indoor & outdoor seating but is not a big coffee shop. The seats were all taken.

Michelle S.

Yelp
Great coffee, delicious bagel w salmon, arugula and avocado. Turkey Paninis are wonderful too. Prices are good, food is so fresh. Right around corner. Must try!!!

Yelp
While in my stay in south beach .. found this little cafe ..since everything was still closed at sunrise .. I was so happy to find this little gem. I ordered an expresó and ham and cheese croissant. It's was yummy Thank you ! Great service and nice staff
google avatar

Yelp
Had a great omelet croissant and cappuccino for breakfast. My wife had got coco and a chocolate cross that was shaped like a pretzel. Pretty reasonably priced for South beach and a filling breakfast.

Yelp
If you're looking for a fantastic brunch spot with amazing coffee, look no further than Dante Caffee. The food is absolutely delicious, with a wide range of options to satisfy any craving. The coffee is exceptional as well, with a variety of specialty drinks that are sure to impress even the most discerning coffee connoisseurs. The staff is incredibly customer-focused, always going above and beyond to ensure that your experience is exceptional. Even though they were busy, wait time was about 15-20 minutes !
google avatar

Yelp
Great coffee, awesome pastries and açaí bowls. The staff are super friendly too. It's a cool little spot.

Daniel H.

Yelp
This is my favorite sandwich spot in south beach. Paninis are generously-sized and have good variety.

Yelp
My fiancé and I have been coming to Il Dante for years now - they have delicious coffee, sandwiches and croissants! It is a family business and cafe has a very special feel - make sure to check it out when in South Beach!
google avatar

Yelp
The team at II Dante Caffe is so inviting and helpful... its as if you transported to Argentina for a morning pastry and cafe. The croissants are baked each morning and if you get there at opening their warm flaky and amazing. When on Miami Beach please check them out ...

Yelp
What an amazing location for a coffee shop - my friends and I were in town for Miami Beach Pride and were staying within walking distance of Ocean Drive and this coffee shop is literally right there. It's quaint, it's bright, and gives off the relaxing, laid-back vibe that you would hope for beachside. They had good coffee and a variety of snacks that my friends and I could choose from - to which, not one of us got the same items - and we were pleasantly surprised and satisfied. Will happily go back to try more food next time I'm in Miami. Thank you!

Yelp
The young lady that was the cashier and barista was extremely nice. My latte was good, She made sure of that.

Yelp
Very wonderful breakfast cafe if you want something light and/or fresh. Responsive and friendly staff. Make sure you get some fresh squeezed orange juice!

Yelp
It is a cute little cafe with very friendly staff however I would not suggest this place. 1. They got my coffee order wrong (when I asked them to correct it, they still did it wrong so I didn't bother to correct it again) 2. They got my food order wrong (I said the name on the menu and even asked them to repeat what it came with, which was a croissant with eggs, ham, and cheese yet they served me a croissant with 3 eggs?? I overlooked it yet again because I didn't want to inconvenience them) 3. There was literally two pieces of HAIR on my food. That was my last straw. I felt icky and decided to just leave I recommend going to another cafe if you are nearby.

Yelp
Thank you yelpers for helping my husband and I find this hidden gem. The address says Ocean Drive, but it's actually tucked around the corner. He had a turkey sandwich and berry smoothie and liked both a lot. The smoothies are super filling, and the sandwiches are a good size, so he was only able to eat half the sandwich after his smoothie. I had a turkey, tomato, spinach and avocado salad that was great. Really appreciated that they gave me fresh toasted yummy bread along with it. The salad was also a large portion, and I wasn't able to finish it. Service was super friendly. My only meh was that they used Tazo (Starbucks) mix for their Chai...would've liked something more authentic, less sugary. There are a handful of places to sit inside and a couple of hightop tables out front. Would be perfect to grab and go to the beach.

Yelp
Great service but the mocha sauce is legit Hersheys syrup. Place is very clean and aesthetically pleasing.

Yelp
Very nice little coffee shop off of Ocean Drive. One of the best croissants i have had in south florida. The owner was very friendly. I had a very good coffee americano. My wife had a capuccino and a fresh panini with prosciutto di parma, mozzarella, tomato and basil. It was excellent

Yelp
Nice place with easy grab and go food options, Argentinian empanadas and other baked goods. Coffee is good with various milks and sweeteners options. Friendly staff, good lattes, and chill clean sitting area.

Yelp
We ordered an icy latte and a cappuccino and they were excellent. This is a good place for coffee

Yelp
Tasty all day breakfast, delicious tortilla with lovely salad. Great service, good coffee. Reasonably priced. Would love to come back.

Yelp
Such a great little cafe! We got the mango and pineapple smoothie, avocado toast, and the pan con tomate and everything was absolutely delicious and so fresh. The service was wonderful, and such a nice vibe. Would 100% suggest and will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Stop there on your way to / from the beach to refresh and get away from the busy street. Delicious coffee and fresh baked goods. Their plain croissant and coffee were a real treat at the beach. Super fresh! Staff is very friendly! Will be back!

Yelp
This place opened just 4 days ago but it has already become my fav on Ocean Drive! The food is freshly made to order, inexpensive (comparing with all places around) and simply delicious. They have variety of pastries, salads, sandwiches... My fav are Spanish omelet and cream cheese pastry with guava. This is family owned business and that's why there is a special atmosphere that I like!

Yelp
Good coffee! Came here for morning coffee and eats on our Miami stay. We really enjoyed the cappuccinos and ended up ordering an Americano afterwards. The service was very friendly and kind. try their Panini's. They were delicious and what we needed to fuel our day. The café was small, but they didn't have enough seating for us to sit down and enjoy our order. They had a nice selection of smoothies, although we did not try them. They also had a a more fresh juicer machine that looked intriguing. Definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
Amazing spot for a quick breakfast and espresso drinks. Features fresh OJ and smoothies. Highly recommend this small Italian cafe for their authentic staff. Will be returning tomorrow

Yelp
We were on a mission for a low key spot that has A/C with indoor seating. The gentleman and his daughter are here running the shop. My beef empanada was amazing, they have iced coffee with almond milk. Had a ham and cheese omelette. Every thing was very simple and yummy. Felt good to support their little shop. They have kale smoothies too!!!

Yelp
Small little cafe kinda tucked away on 8th ave. Came here for a quick bite, i got the ham & cheese croissant. The croissant was warm, soft, and had a nice hint of sweet glaze on top.

Venezia M.

Yelp
This place is so amazing! Flavorful. True to its argentine roots. The owner is a sweetheart that gives his best. This cafe was a great touch to my Miami trip.

Yelp
While visiting Miami Beach, I came across this cafe on a side street off of Ocean Drive. I was looking for a refreshing cold drink to cool off from the hot weather and lounging at the beach. This cafe features various coffees, salads, wraps, sandwiches. I wasn't hungry at the time, but definitely would order some food if I returned in the future, as their selection looked delicious. I ordered a smoothie, which can be customized with various fruits, veggies and blended with your choice of milk, water or OJ. I had a strawberry banana mango smoothie blended with OJ. It was delicious and just what I needed to cool off! The cafe is quite small. With one table inside, some bar seating, and a couple tables outside. The interior is very cute and the staff was friendly. Would return again if ever in the area!

Claire P.

Yelp
a bit price and definitely gets busy in the mornings. My iced coffee was average but my egg and cheese bagel was good!

Yelp
My new favorite spot. The day before trying this place for the first time, I had breakfast at the iconic News Cafe. I used to live in South Beach 25 years ago and that place has a lot of nostalgia for me. However, a simple breakfast of two eggs bacon, coffee and juice is $30; their food and service was lackluster. Fast forward to the next morning! A fresh, warm, and delicious croissant with ham and cheese plus fresh made coffee plus fresh squeezed orange juice was only $11 including a 20% tip. Elizabeth was working hard to serve at least 10 customers. By herself. She did a great job and most of us that were waiting did not seem to be in a huge rush. It is extremely rare to find an affordable meal in the Ocean Drive area. And even more rare for it to be fresh and delicious!

Nikki A.

Yelp
I love this place so cute and yummy! the workers were so nice too. Great location and a great variety of food

Yelp
This place was great . It was right around the corner from our hotel on Ocean drive. Excellent coffee

Yelp
very dirty. place smells like mold. pretty horrible

Yelp
Sampled a few coffee shops in the area and must say Il Dante Caffe makes the best Caramel latte near the beach. Can't go wrong with anything croissant which is sweet and tasty on its own :)
google avatar

Kassidy P.

Yelp
Amazing coffee and great service! Staff is so friendly and attentive! Found this coffee shop right around the corner from our hotel the first morning of our stay here in Miami and went every single morning the rest of our vacation! Cute little tables on the side walk outside to sit and enjoy your coffee! Breakfast sandwiches are a 10/10 and taste so fresh and delicious! I highly recommend this place to everyone!
google avatar

Carolyn S.

Yelp
Friendly staff. Got an iced almond milk latte - was good. I like that their almond milk wasn't overly sweet. Also had a basic cold cut sandwich- nice little bite.
google avatar

Kirsten A.

Yelp
Super affordable breakfast option right by the beach! It's very slightly off ocean drive, but not hard to find. Both the coffee and croissant sandwich were great. Definitely recommend for a quick and easy breakfast
