Really good Italian food. Excellent service! Came here for business lunch, and service is what really stood out for me, you get just enough attention and when you need it. All the dishes we ordered were great, very simple yet flavorful. Restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating, and while ambiance is fairly simple, it is right by the water, so you get to enjoy nice relaxing views. It gets quite busy in the evenings, too. But this is not a typical Miami place, it reminded me of NYC fine dining.

Google
Amazing. Fine dining, business casual dress code. One of the best meals I've ever had. I can see why they were so busy. It has a beautiful waterfront view for your dining pleasure. Definitely recommend making a reservation. Service and food was top notch!

This afternoon Mothers Day I had dinner with my wife at IL Gabbiano and as usual it was an awesome exceptional experience from the unparalleled service & food quality that no other fine restaurant offers in Miami. You have five waiters and bus boys constantly standing around you that all you do is look at them and they come over. That actually happened today I looked at one and he came over and I told him and I actually said to him I just looked at you and you knew & he said yes sir ! We are here to serve you! We eat out daily and at other restaurants you have to chase down the waiters. Don’t think because I’m saying this they asked me to write a review actually truthfully none of them did. I’m doing this on my own because it was such an enjoyable experience. This restaurant is my wife’s favorite and we all know there’s a few thousand restaurants in Miami! So much for the superb service now the food quality I don’t even know how to describe it. The tuna tartare was as always, exceptional, the bone in veal parmagiana (see photos) is the best tasting veal I’ve ever had. The veal is soft, white, tender other places you look at the meat and it’s dark not good quality. The tomato sauce definitely homemade and the cheese well It actually had a good smell when it was coming over being served. It’s my favorite Italian dish I ordered at all the restaurants we eat out and no one makes it like this place! This is the Best fine Italian Restaurant in Miami!

Google
This place was amazing and the staff was attentive, helpful and friendly. I flew my boyfriend here for his birthday. We stayed one night in Miami, until we left for or cruise the next day. The food was amazing and the location was breathtaking. This restaurant sits on the water. The ambiance and atmosphere were incredibly beautiful. I rate this place 10 out of 10. Will definitely recommend and we’ll be back soon.

Google
Dinner at Il Gabbiano in Miami was a refined experience with great service and a classic Italian menu. We started with flavorful Clams Casino, followed by excellent Pasta with Truffles—rich, aromatic, and perfectly cooked. The Supreme di Pollo al Calvados was well-made but a little heavy for my taste, while the vegetable side was fresh and nicely seasoned. Dessert was a solid Crème Brûlée, and service throughout the night was attentive without being overbearing. The total came to about $250 for two people, including tax and tip—pricey, but fitting for the quality, portions, and waterfront setting.

Google
Il Gabbiano is so good that it’s the kind of place you’d rather keep secret. Not flashy, elegant simplicity, but warm and inviting. Not crazy loud like so many Miami restaurants: a place where a table of six can actually hear each other. White tablecloths. Old school jacketed waiters. And drop dead delicious food. Old school. Our favorite place in Miami, worth the trip wherever you are…

Google
I loved this restaurant — the service is amazing and the food is spectacular. The atmosphere is a 10, and the ocean view is absolutely beautiful.

Google
By far my favorite Italian restaurant in Miami. Il Gabbiano, located right on the One Miami Waterfront, has stunning views, elegant outdoor seating, and a refined dining experience that feels truly special from start to finish. From the complimentary dishes they serve you as a warm welcome, to the main event—the unforgettable Double-Cut Veal Chop with Truffles al Cartoccio—every detail is exceptional. Their specials alone could be an entire menu of their own, and the rest of their offerings never disappoint: Scampi Origanati, Mozzarella di Bufala, Prosciutto e Melone, Carpaccio di Manzo, Carpaccio di Polpo, Gnocchi al Gorgonzola, every risotto, indulgent desserts, and of course their coffee and Limoncello to finish. Il Gabbiano is the definition of fine Italian dining in Miami—consistently impeccable food, service, and atmosphere. A must for anyone who loves true Italian cuisine.

Yelp
My niece recently came to miami on a quick trip. She asked me to take her to a place with steak and pasta. Oh boy. "How do I swing this one" I thought. After some deep internet sleuthing I found II Gabbiano. It was perfect. I wanted to take her somewhere upscale. . Somewhere with a nice view some where with good food and somewhere with (of course) steak and pasta The restaurant is located in the brickell on the opposite side of the intercontinental (I don't know the building sorry). The restaurant is located on a bit of a corner area right off the bay with a beautiful view. The staff was very attentive. She just wanted pasta with a cheese white sauce -- done. No questions asked and no snooty upper class judgement. The ambience is another posh spot where I noticed there was a large amount of tables relative to the space but not at all over crowded. The food was very good. You must try their risotto. Rice wasn't over cooked and presentation didn't look like baby food like so many other places that claim risotto but really it's just rice mush. The calamari was fluffy and crunchy -- and here is the hook -- not greasy at all. The steak was done to a perfect medium rare and the pasta an excellent, on-the other-side-of al dente. After dinner we where walking back to the car and took a moment to soak in a bit of the view and chat about old times and new adventures. So if you're looking for a night out to enjoy a great dinner and upscale vibe -- II Gabbiano should be on your short list.

Yelp
After rediscovering Il Gabbiano a couple of years ago, I simply can't stay away -- it remains one of Florida's finest restaurants. Within minutes of being seated, the team brings over their signature complimentary trio of Parmigiano Reggiano, fresh tomato, and thick balsamic. I love that this arrives immediately, even before the menus -- it's simple, familiar, and always incredibly delicious. Once our wine was poured, Norman stopped by to present the evening's many specials. You're never rushed here -- this is civilized dining, a rarity these days. We never miss the Scampi Origanati; the sauce is so irresistible that our table ordered a second round before moving on to the pastas. All of the pastas are excellent, but the Truffle Ravioli is an absolute must -- rich, aromatic, and unforgettable. Tonight's Asparagus Risotto also impressed, and my guest enjoyed the Half Avocado Stuffed with Seafood appetizer. For entrées, I can rarely resist the Veal Chop with Truffle Sauce -- it's consistently superb, tender, and deeply flavorful. Another guest ordered the same and agreed. The accompanying potato wedges are outstanding. The Costoletta Valdostana with Foie Gras looked indulgent and earned rave reviews at our table. A side of Piselli Romana (Green Peas) paired beautifully with our mains. Service is impeccable -- three or four attentive servers seem to anticipate every need without ever intruding. The wine list is thoughtfully curated, served in proper glassware, and always at ideal cellar temperature. Dining here is simply a pleasure from start to finish -- refined, warm, and consistently exceptional. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Yelp
I recently went to this restaurant on my birthday a few days ago I was craving some authentic Italian cuisine, and this restaurant did not disappoint. We made reservations and we were seated rightaway. As soon as we sat down, we were served bruschetta and asked what we wanted to drink This restaurant is perfect for a date group setting hosting a baby shower, etc. they have indoor and outdoor rec seating and the views within the restaurant are unmatched. The waiters were very kind and attentive Now the food there's so many choices. It's overwhelming, which is always a good problem. I had the Spaghetti alla Carbonara and the Fettuccine alla Bolognese. Both dishes were fantastic . And since it was my birthday I got dessert which was also delicious. I highly recommend coming to the this restaurant. You won't be disappointed . I can't wait to come back and try more items on the menu

Yelp
One of the Best Italian restaurants I've been to in a Long time. I've now eaten here twice in the last week and it is consistently Great ! While it's a somewhat expensive restaurant, it represents Great value for what you get. Large portions, outstanding quality and some really nice added touches that put IL Gabbiano over the top. Our recent Langostino appetizer came with an added seafood risotto side on the plate that was amazing. It could have been it's own appetizer. I've tried the following things and each one was better than the next. Veal Saltimbocca, Veal chop Gorgonzola, Veal Parmigiana and Veal chop Valdostano, Lobster ravioli, gnocchi with prosciutto and more. Absolutely wonderful. The service is excellent and the wine list is pretty good. You can sit inside or out along the water. If I could afford to, I would eat here every week. Please give them a shot. I promise that you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Ciao, Before retiring, I used to go to Il Gabbiano at least twice a week. Now I dont go to downtown very often but always try to visit one of my favorite restaurant in Miami. I love the Risotto fruti de mare, costoleta milanesa and ossobucco. Il Gabbiano can transform a simple orange in one of best desert. Service is always impecable. Grazie a mile Gabbiano.

Yelp
Fantastic place for a romantic meal on the water in Miami. The service 5/5, ambiance 5/5 and the meals, fresh and amazing 5/5! Definite new favorite

Yelp
Oh my deliciousness. I haven't had pure Italian food since I last went to Italy. The ambiance the service and everything was impeccable. The meal started with a delicious array of freshly baked bread and the most flavorful tomatoes and fresh Parmesan. The escargot had mushrooms underneath and tons of garlic (which is my absolute favorite). The pastas were the main treat. They were so so rich with flavor. My favorite was the linguine al vongole (clams). Finally the desserts adequately satiated my sweet tooth. I couldn't help but devour the chocolate soufflé with ice cream. The waiters were very attentive and made sure our wine and water glasses were never empty. They were super kind and helpful in making our ordering decisions.

Yelp
Return visit to Il Gabbiano. First off, they probably have one of the best oceanfront tables in Miami. Absolutely stunning day and views to match. Service was impeccable. Wine and martinis were amazing. Had to give 3 stars this time because the food was definitely not the star of the show today. The artichoke appetizer tasted too sour because of the amount of lemon used in the dish. I really wanted to love the pear and Gorgonzola salad but it was very one note. I had it as advertised but would highly recommend switching out the blue cheese dressing for a vinaigrette instead. The cannelloni was ok and I did like the tagliatelle Alfredo but it wasn't "amazing".

Yelp
Service was friendly and kind, food was great. We stayed at the Intercontinental hotel and this is literally a 30 second walk out and around the corner. We sat outside on the water and watched the sunset and all the party boats go by. It was super fun! My husband came early for work and came here 3x during the week. I will come back! There was also never a long wait no matter what time of day or day of the week we came.

Yelp
Wow wow wow!! This place was amazing! I have been here before but they have definitely up their game! They have outside and indoor sitting and the inside was beautifully lit and the staff was really nice. They answered all the questions we had and help us choose some amazing items. For posters we got the oysters and the escargot! I would eat the escargot everyday if I could it was amazing it can stuffed in a mini mushroom! The pastas were all to die for. I had the lobster ravioli and it was sooo super delicious. It came stuff with a lot of lobster and sauce was delicious! The lamb was a good potion and was perfectly cooked! It came with a crust and it perfect combination. The mushroom ravioli was also amazing and came stuffed perfectly! And the desserts were amazing amazing amazing!! We got the chocolate lava cake, the crème burlee, and the tiramisu and it was all amazing. I would definitely order the whole menu if I could again. Also, we got two bottles of brunello wine and it was delicious!

Yelp
The view definitely steals the show at Il Gabbiano (@ilgabbianorestaurant), but the food and service are top-notch! As soon as you are seated, they serve you some caprese with a side of balsamic glaze and a bread basket. We started with the Calamari Fritti, which was the perfect level of lightly breaded and came with a fresh homemade tomato sauce. It's one of the best I've tried, for sure. The Chicken Milanese and Snapper entrées had excellent flavor, as well. This is definitely one to add to the list!
google avatar

Yelp
Went with a group for a birthday dinner. It's a nicely located restaurant on the Miami waterways and outside has a better view than inside. The service was great and they were always on top of making sure we had everything we needed. The food was okay, nothing to rave about, however the artichokes app was very delicious and well charred! We ordered some bottles of wine as well. There is valet for lunch and dinner as well.
google avatar

Antonio C.

Yelp
Mediocre at best. The food was nothing to rave about. I ordered the lobster ravioli and it was pretty bland. Service was nothing special. Definitely over priced for what you get.
google avatar

Yelp
Used to come here frequently but visited for the first time last night in almost two years. Everything from the food and the service was exceptional. Views are spectacular of course. Probably the best Italian restaurant in Miami!

Magaly

Yelp
Went for my mother in laws birthday and had a great time. We sat outside, the views of the water were amazing. The servers were great explaining all the options and taking care of us. What we ordered was delicious. Had a great time will definitely be going back.

Yelp
Oh my goodness where to begin- I LOVE I'll Gabbiano. The food here was among the best I've had in Miami. The service is above and beyond with waiters personally displaying and introducing exquisite seafood and truffle ingredients tableside. The classy upscale interior only added to the fine dining experience. Highly recommend their specials- the mushroom ravioli to be specific. Ironically I came here on a break up date but ended up having one of my favorite Miami dining experiences
google avatar

Eliette C.

Yelp
I'll Gabiano never disappoints. It was a group of 5 and we tried a bit of everything on the menu to share. The service here is always impeccable and the view amazing to take a nice stroll after dinner.
google avatar

Yelp
What a wonderful evening I had at this restaurant . It's undoubtedly quite classy and a wonderful spot to have dinner. The decor was magnificent. The star of the show was the view, and our servers and serving assistants were always checking in. The wine selection and cocktails were superb. I had a St. germain that tasted like I was on a spritzy holiday. The only negative was that my boyfriend's dinner was just ok; however, I really enjoyed my pesto pasta. The pesto pasta felt like it had transported me to a family friends home who was from Italy. I had a wonderful evening.
google avatar

Ruta P.

Yelp
Good food, pretty views and toddler approved meals. We loved how accommodating and welcoming all the staff was
google avatar

Steven R.

Yelp
Excellent tasting food and very flexible meal preparation, but they're disorganized and indecisive about everything. Asking for a small adjustment escalates into needlessly long discussions. The ambience by the bay is nice but the layout feels as disorganized as the service. However, this is likely the best Italian that you can find in Miami. It's worth trying because, if nothing else, the flavors are there. The angel hair pasta with spicy tomatoe sauce was quite excellent and met high standards.
google avatar

Nati A.

Yelp
Overpriced for what you get. They didn't hear me order my dish so we only split what my partner ordered. I waited so long for anyone to notice and then the server asked some questions.. letting me know that he basically didn't hear me and was in too much of a rush to check. The nearby staff did check on me, which I did appreciate. Nice ambiance. I would give this place another shot. I was quite disappointed though.
google avatar

Ryan L.

Yelp
We were charged for the wrong table. I've eaten here a few times and enjoyed it, but on my most recent visit the staff made a mistake and charged my card over $1,200 more than our bill. This mistake was not properly explained to me and I had not even realized they charged me for someone else's table until we had already gone home. I was also charged an overdraft fee because I didn't keep much in my checking that week. They did reverse the charge but it took almost a week and I'm honestly shocked they still went ahead and charged me for my own bill afterwards.
google avatar

Gabrielle K.

Yelp
I just love this restaurant so much! While Il Mulino is my #1, the location and scenic views at Il Gabbiano is unmatched. I love everything about this spot and it is a great spot for date night! I love to come here for Valentine's Day specifically, because they treat you so well and you always get a cute little rose The views of downtown and the miami skyline is also so romantic. As far as the food, it is delicious! Really great italian dishes and I have always loved everything here. Pro tip: make sure to order the pasta sampler as an appetizer, or meal honestly because it is a huge portion. In the sampler you will get truffle ravioli, bolognese, and I believe gnocchi with either a pesto sauce or gorgonzola sauce (my personal favorite)! The oysters are also so good. I don't like raw oysters but these are cooked with spinach so they are very tasty. I highly recommend Il Gabbiano. It's the perfect spot for a fancy meal in Miami without the craziness and frills that a lot of the popular spots come with.
google avatar

Zakiyya W.

Yelp
Ambiance 9/10 Service 10/10 Good 8/10 - I really enjoyed my appetizers but can't say the same for my main dish. The Bolognese was prettyyy bland. I ended up adding a lot of cheese and asking for more sauce, but because the sauce was so bland it still didn't provide enough flavor. I wouldn't recommend the bolognese at all.

Tara L.

Yelp
I came here on a date with my boyfriend and the service was the best I've ever had. We were greeted by waiters in tuxedos and everyone was so attentive. The second my water was almost gone, someone was coming to the table to refill my glass. A team of waiters take care of you during your dining experience. We were offered a beautiful bread basket with complimentary bruschetta and Parmesan cheese. I ordered the Gorgonzola peer salad that was delicious and we also ordered the grilled calamari that was fresh. For the main course, I had the capellini arrabiata and my boyfriend ordered the orchiette with broccoli and sausage. Everything was delicious. I have a severe soy allergy and the staff took it seriously. They use high quality ingredients/100% olive oil and take pride in their food. The setting is classy, overlooking the ocean where you can watch boats go by while you enjoy a nice cocktail. I didn't feel rushed at this restaurant, they took the time to explain every special and were willing to make dishes to your liking...even if it was not on the menu. We ended the meal with Italian tartufo ice cream. It's a hardened chocolate ball with ice cream inside.....soooo delicious!! Beautiful presentation. I definitely would recommend this Italian restaurant to anyone. I lived in Italy for 4 1/2 years and I really enjoyed what this place has to offer.

Patrick P.

Yelp
Always great food and fantastic service! The ambiance is amazing. I would recommend anyone visiting Miami to go and try it.
google avatar

Isaac B.

Yelp
I've been to a lot of restaurants, but the service here is hands down the best I've ever had. The waiters go above and beyond to make sure you're taken care of, and it doesn't go unnoticed. From the moment I sat down, they were on top of everything. They even pull out your chair for you and ensure your drink is always filled before you even have to think about it. What really stood out to me was how attentive and considerate the staff were. They were constantly checking in, making sure everything was perfect, but never in an intrusive way. The level of service made the whole experience feel so special and effortless. I honestly can't remember the last time I felt so well taken care of at a restaurant. If you're looking for a place where the service makes the meal even better, this is the spot.
google avatar

Jose R.

Yelp
Great service, incredible food with a fascinating view of the Miami skyline. The branzino was incredible as well as the tuna tartare to start. I highly recommend this place for a great meal w family and friends.
google avatar

Nikolas T.

Yelp
Views are spectacular of course. Probably the best Italian restaurant in Miami! And service is ok!
google avatar

Anthony B.

Yelp
Never come here. Food is bland, overpriced and not worth it. The ambiance is all you get with the ocean view and maybe you'll see a celebrity walk by. But overall, not worth the money or time. Service was great, but not memorable.
google avatar

Tiana T.

Yelp
There are not enough characters to say good things about dining here. One of the best locations in Miami (water view on the patio) with some of the best service. The menu itself is impressive and there are always some compelling specials that make me think twice about what I plan to order. As a seafood lover, my favorite thing I've had is the Dover sole. Cannot wait to be back here
google avatar

Anne C.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant with ocean views. The food was delicious and service friendly and efficient. We had veal Milanese which was delicious
google avatar

Kathy L.

Yelp
Came here for a business dinner. Our group (6 tables) were seated in the back private room. The menu was pre-selected with set selections and I just had to pick my main course. The food was amazing, course after course. Just when you think it was over, another dish of something would be placed before you. I don't even know where to begin and I even lost track of what we ate and wasn't able to take photos of everything...for our antipasta we were served fresh buffalo mozzarella & tomato salad, followed by salad and then--fresh ravioli and paparadelle. My entree was langoustine (shrimp) and risotto--aside from it being a little salty for my taste, it was overall delicious. The risotto was perfect, the Arborio rice was not over-cooked and paired well with the shrimp. Dessert consisted of a tasting plate of flourless chocolate cake, Italian cheesecake & tiramisu. The servers were attentive and spoke Italian. The room had a gorgeous view of the bay. This is a wonderful restaurant, great ambiance and I recommend it for any occasion.
google avatar

Kevin P.

Yelp
Amazing service and food. The seafood grouper was a huge dish that was absolutely amazing.
google avatar

Kelly R.

Yelp
a fine dining experience for sure. You will feel like the servers are only there for you, service is top notch and they tend to every detail. High quality italian food. They have about 8 daily specials so I would recommend trying one of these off menu items. It is priceyyyy i'd definitely be back though.
google avatar

Yelp
IL Gabbiano is a must for me whenever I'm in Miami. The waterfront ambiance, service, and food are phenomenal. Dress well, and be prepared to spend some money. Reservations are highly recommended well in advance. Enjoy!
google avatar

Carson O.

Yelp
Just knocked back 30 oysters I could prob go for another 30. Money. Dipped half w a lil lemon and cocktail, almost kissed my momma on the forehead. Tap in.
google avatar

Ivan Q.

Yelp
Following a business event, we grabbed dinner at Il Gabbiano. Our group was promptly seated and offered drinks and a variety of house made breads. I enjoyed a Cesar salad and Scampi alla Romana. The shrimp was enormous and I was surprised how tender it was (not commonly found in shrimp of this size). Overall, I enjoyed my meal and look forward to eating here in the future. Shoutout to the staff for their attentiveness. They are constantly monitoring tables to refill drinks, bring the next course or clear used items. Bravo!
google avatar

Patricia R.

Yelp
Food was excellent, very tender octopus to the point, shrimp appetizer was delicious, my friend had the lamb chops for me were a little over price, I had the villainess. I will have it again. It was very good Service was excellence! ***** Ambience ***** This is a very high end restaurant
google avatar

Jon A.

Yelp
Came here with my wife and a couple of friends. The food was excellent, the service was excellent, and the view was fantastic. Favorite part was the dessert. I got the chocolate lava cake and it was probably the best I've ever had. Valet isn't too expensive which is a plus... The one flaw is that the food is a bit overpriced. But if you're looking to splurge on a nice date-night type of experience, this is a great option.
google avatar

Yelp
From start to end this restaurant is a superb fine dining experience. The service is top notch, the food is quality and authentic, and the ambiance is breathtaking. Overlooking Miami's beautiful water views, right on biscayne - dining at Il Gabbiano is a perfect way to get a get a breath of fresh air, while watching boats pass by and enjoy a fantastic meal. To start, I'll say service is just 10/10. All the servers have the entire menu and specials memorized to perfection. They take the time to recommend dishes based on your liking, and palate and do a really good job to explain each menu item. While being greeted the servers naturally begin to place tomatoes, parmesan cheese and and bread on each individual plate, such a nice detailed touch! To share we got the calamari then each ordered our own entree. I mentioned to the server that my sister and I would be sharing our entrees so we could try a bit a both and they actually split the serving and platted it separately... amazing! We ordered a few bottles of wine and enjoyed a selection of different desserts, my favorites were the tiramisu and the creme brulee, both chefs rich in flavor but not overly sweet. I think what I loved the most of this spot is how underreated it was, I felt so present within ,y dining experience and shared a great time with my family - didn't even take out my phone once and that was great! Can't wait to go back again soon.

Al B.

Yelp
Great ambiance! Great service paying attention to the smallest detail.! The Bronzino was spectacular! The fried zucchini side delicious! The Frutta Di Mare so so. I suggest not trying so hard. Focus on the sauce and the Frutta. Don't try to add too much to a simple dish. 4.4 starts out of 5.
google avatar

Jose A.

Yelp
This is my wife's favorite restaurant in Miami. Fabulous Italian food, excellent service, and a beautiful restaurant with great views of the river. Fantastic place for a romantic dinner or a business dinner to impress. Highly recommend it.
google avatar

Spencer S.

Yelp
High class establishment serving what I believe is the best Italian in Miami. Far superior dishes to Carbone or the equivalent, just in a less buzzy, more business like environment. Hard to appreciate the restaurants views at night. We sat outside and it was relatively mild with the wind breaking glass. The house ravioli and shrimp diavolo were my favorite amongst the appetizers. The bartender did a great job serving up classic cocktails. The staff and waiter were very polite and accommodating

Yelp
Didn't get a chance to take any pictures but this restaurant was amazing. From the food to the service to the beautiful view. I highly recommend.

Yelp
Talk about mouth watering food. Outstanding meal here the other night. Service is outstanding, servers are well trained, to provide while glove style service. We got a few bottles of wine and moet to start. Bruschetta and a piece of Parmesan is placed on your plate to start with a delicious bread basket for the table. Menu is in Italian for the most part, but the servers can answer any questions I opted for the saltimbocca omg SO good. Those with me got sea bass, bolognese, lobster ravioli, and shrimp dishes all left very happy. The cheesecake for dessert was phenomenal and we even topped it off while limoncello. I will absolutely be back.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and excellent service. The food is always top notch. Ordered the lamb chops for dinner. Enough for two people.
