In my opinion a 4 for this restaurant suitable as it was truly exceptional however did not fulfill my expectations. The quality of the food is a no doubt as the thought force that is behind the creation is well noticeable. The staff was kind and positive. However, despite being a 2-Star Michelin restaurant I did not get the “Wow” effect when I was eating, it did not feel or taste like an extraordinary experience. I have been to many gourmet restaurants with different ratings and I believe this was somewhat the same or maybe a little better than the others but I definitely think that the price for what you get is quite expensive. So the only reason I am giving maximum a 4 is because everything was perfect but the price and service is a mismatch in my opinion.

During my yesterday's dining experience, I was impressed by the attention to detail and the quality of the offerings. The menu proudly highlighted the origin and territoriality of the products used that the restaurant should indeed be proud of. Dishes showcased multiple textures, precision cutting, and a variety of cooking methods and stages. Visually, they were beautiful, with the presentation of the tortelli standing out for me as particularly elegant; the colours of the plate perfectly matched those of the tortelli. My personal favourite was the red mullet dish. The combination of smoky cheese and varied textures provided a delightful burst of flavour that literally gave me dopamine goosebumps. Honorable mention: the Fassone beef, with its delicious coating: (chamomile panure and red onions) was exceptionally tasty. Service at the restaurant was impeccable. The staff 'en salle' was attentive, particularly the experianced 'maître de maison' who offered regular and informative interactions. A special highlight was the interaction with chef Pisani who visited my table, adding a personal touch to the evening. There was an akward moment with the payment process as I struggled to pay with two foreign cards, all finished well when a diffrent payment terminal was brought. This did not spoil an otherwise very pleasant evening.

Perfect experience from start to finish. Every course was delicious, service was impeccable, and the ambience was elegant and understated. Well deserving of the 2 Michelin stars. Very impressive!

Historical restaurant of Milano. Despite 60 years of cuisine, the dishes are very creative and you can still feel the passion. There is a important research in the ingredients, which you'll taste. The personnel is nice and the location is smart.

My wife and I, who are from the US, were just recently were married and came here on our honeymoon. It was a meal that either of us will never forget. The quality of service, food, and attention was top notch and likely something we will never experience in the US. I cannot thank the front of the house and kitchen stuff enough for such an incredible night. Absolutely worth a trip

This is absolutely my favorite 2 Michelin stars in Milan. Iconic, historic and contemporary at the same time with a great heritage in the hands of the chefs. The wonderful tasting and the a la carte offers a complete travel into Italian regions in a contemporary cuisine style. The dining room is very nice and minimalistic. The team of waiters and the service just outstanding, I never catch anything wrong. Literally super trained professionals of high standard and skilled. This place is amazing in so many ways!!! The service is impeccable and so accommodating! We had to move our reservation back an hour due to travel issues (which is something that many other restaurants would give us a hard time about), and the team at Il Luogo was so understanding!! My group and I ended up doing a tasting menu, which is the way to go! Just be sure to set aside 4 hrs, especially if you're a chatty group like we were. The servers also made the perfect wine recommendations to go along with our meal. I wish I had more time to go back and try some of the other delicious and creative plates!

This was our final dinner in Milan. It's definitely far from the city center and was quite far from where we were staying, but we made the trek out because we read good things about it. The history of very sweet, as it started as Aimo and Nadia's joint project (husband and wife), though it's now run by a different team, and we were hosted very graciously by Nikola and his team that night. The printed menus are old school in that I got the one without prices (I haven't seen that since another restaurant in Northern Italy). You have 3 choices: territories (more focused on specific producers), vegetarian (with a focus on their garden), and the autumn menu. We ultimately chose the autumn menu, and they were able to make pescatarian substitutions on certain dishes for me. We started with a 2013 Ca' del Bosco zero dosage Pinot noir Franciacorta. The wine list is extensive, available on an iPad, and it has a huge Italian selection, but we ultimately went with a Burgundy. A pairing is also available, with a variety of wines from across Europe. Amuses: - Tartlet with crecenza cheese - Hummus with citron and capers - Egg meringue with bacon - Pineapple marinated in wine The Autumn Menu - 1. Mussel filled with buffalo ricotta, Amalfi lemon 2. Crispy raviolo of Mantuan pumpkins with Valsassina taleggio. Unfortunately, the taleggio got lost with the pumpkin and the crust, but it was still a great texture experience between the crispy exterior and warm oozing center 3. Grissini made in house 4. Tartare of dentex from the Ligurian sea, served in a taco, topped with fried leek, carrot, and orange marmalade 5. Celeriac: cooked in milk and aromatized with orange, covered in beeswax - uncovered tableside and served on beeswax, then taken back to the kitchen for cooking. It then comes back served with nuts, leaves, citron jelly, mayo, and a warm salted pretzel roll. The presentation was beautiful 6. Milanese bread with Puglia olive oil - a more unique olive oil that's more bitter 7. Liver pate with white truffle and dark chocolate, super rich and intense, served with a fruit pate that helps cut the richness. For my pescatarian course, I had chickpeas and mushrooms cooked in shrimp bisque, topped with marinated shrimp, tomato water foam, and a shrimp cracker 8. Risotto with aged mascherpa cheese from the Bitto valley. Mascherpa is an aged ricotta from Valltelina, which I didn't know existed. It's a super small production and is hard to find. It came with 2 sauces: hazelnut cream from Piedmonte and Jerusalem artichoke 9. Natural bread with flaxseeds 10. Tortelli dedicated to Milan: Filled with Piedmontese young beef ossobucco, marrow, saffron, parmigiano. For my pescatarian alternative, I got fusilloni pasta with shrimp, mussels and red mullet, potato foam 11. The wild game 2023: white pigeon with chestnut cream and raspberry reduction. For me, I had a beautifully plated red mullet with a thin legume crust, celeriac, red mullet sauce, and sweet red pepper 12. The sugolo: a concord grape "pudding" - a dish from Mantuo as the pre-dessert 13. Black lemon: a Calabrian licorice marshmallow with Amalfi lemon namelaka and mousse layered with a soft airy cake, mint, and loomi powder 14. Petit fours: - Saffron macaron: one of the most interesting macarons I've had - Dark chocolate - Cake with hazelnut cream and meringue They're very specific about their producers and sources and have their own garden, and it's great to be able to try these very hard to find and small production ingredients from Lombardy and Piedmonte. At the end of the meal, we were invited to meet the chef, which was a nice bonus. This was a wonderful refined and contemporary take on Northern Italian cuisine.

My first 2 Michelin star restaurant experience! You definitely have to make reservations in advance; this experience will take at least 3-4 hours. A bit out of the way from the the central Milan area, but worth the trip! This is the most expensive meal I've had to the date. I ordered the Summer menu (shorter and cheaper than their Territories menu). The whole table must have the same menu since they bring everyone's next course at the same time and explain the dish in Italian or English (depending on your preference). There are a lot of course but each one is quite small. If there's something you do not like on the menu (which they let you preview before choosing), you can ask them to substitute it. I did not want the purple shrimp, so they offered to substitute it with a fish dish and ultimately served me the red mullet from their territories menu. I ended up trying a lot of new dishes here; it was my first time eating all of the fish they served and they did it well. Most of the other dishes were good but didn't stand out to me (e.g. the dishes with the veal). Surprisingly, my absolute favorite dish had to be the pureed 'cicerchie' from Puglia, with wild chicory, figs must and 'lampascioni' in raspberries vinegar. It is vegetarian, but it was so flavorful and homey; I loved it! If I could order just this, I would be ordering from here every week! Afterward, ordered an espresso (not included in the meal price). Tasted like the espresso served at most other non-Michelin star restaurants but was much more expensive. One of the chefs came out to chat with each table, and his passion for creating foods to represent the "Italian kitchen" (diverse because of all the different regions in Italy) was VERY evident and was a joy to see. Although it's a very expensive meal, I would definitely recommend stopping by here once to experience the food and atmosphere.

Modern italian two-Michelin star restaurant, we did the wine pairing with the Autumn tasting, incredible in every way. There is a story in each dish. They accommodated for a dairy sensitivity. Sommelier was knowledgeable and talented.

Just want to be succinct and to the point as possible here on Yelp without being wordy or unnecessarily descriptive of an experience that is sine qua non in dining. Well it's Michelin ed and it's Italian new cuisine. What more info do you need? That there is a private kitchen dining area for intimate dinners with the sexiest chefs in Verona? That the service is immaculate? The food course a journey inwards in oh so many ways? The wine list and pairings on point? The decor a unassuming uncomplicated place to rest your eyes as the palate takes over? It is simply put: A M A Z I N G That's it. Now go eat

MENTAL..... ARE YOU SERIOUS!!! Very Very well deserved honors for this establishment. The front of house to back of house is incredible. Best service I've ever had, the best contemporary Italian experience of my life. I cannot praise and write more about how much I loved my time here. Warning- if you are doing a tasting menu (HIGHLY RECOMMEND) make sure your booking 3-4 hours to indulge and be shocked on how your tastebuds mixed with priceless ambiance and plating. PS- we had the Territory Tasting Menu and I cannot remember every dish name but it's a homage to the location produce and the gastronomy efforts and expertise from the chefs. Trust me the tasting menu will leave you full and ready to have the best dreams of your life!!!!

Our last meal in Milan was at Il Luogo and it was very good. At almost 4 hours, partly due to service lapses, we left feeling full and satisfied. The smoked tomato tartare was such a simple dish but was very memorable. Crispy red pepper wrapped in prosciutto was quite different an also good. The Etruian soup and the chick pea and polenta were other standouts. I don't think there was a course I didn't like. For a restaurant of this class, the desserts were a bit of a disappointment with them being something you'd find in many restaurants with nothing that was unique or carefully thought out.

Located on the outskirts of Milan and featuring a revered focus on Modern Italian cuisine Il luogo di Aimo e Nadia was chosen for the final dinner in Italy for a group of four touring the region, the meal a beautiful one save for a few glitches in service and dessert that fell flat largely as a result of personal tastes. Fancied in part due to the brightly lit environment and Abstract artwork, enormous canvases flanking both sides of the room as light music plays, it was perhaps twenty minutes late that our party arrived due to traffic, the Maitre d' a generous man happily sharing stories of almost ubiquitous delinquent arrivals for the same reason throughout the restaurant's storied past. Now over fifty years old, a Michelin Star or Two held for several over time, it was at a plush four top that the group sat with water quickly poured and refreshed frequently, the Server making inquiry as to the purpose of our travels and on hearing the dining agenda deciding to put on a show. Helmed by husband and wife, Aimo and Nadia Moroni joined by daughter Stefania who manages the space now toqued by Fabio Pisani and Alessandro Negrini, a meal at Il luogo is best described as a dialogue with Italian ingredients tinged in French influences, the cuisine almost Mediterranean at times without losing sight of its historical relevance. Divided into two tasting menus and a la carte options, an eponymous degustazione offering the most immersive look at Fabio and Alessandro's cusine, dinner began with "a small taste" set to stretch nearly thirty minutes across six bites plus Bread service, the Crispy Red Pepper with Prosciutto di Parma and Mussel stuffed with Mozzrella, Tomatoes, and Celeriac particularly elegant when paired with a brisk 2013 Etna Bianco DOC. Awkwardly paced despite a half-filled restaurant early on, delays between dishes ranging anywhere from fifteen minutes to forty, the tasting officially commenced with marinated Sea Bream that proved surprisingly capable of standing up to Passion Fruit and Carrots thanks to Herbs and Sea, a follow-up of Vegetable Soup with Legumes far more luxurious than one may anticipate, though a bit too substantial in portion considering the number of courses to follow. Matching the room's vibrant color scheme with "That's Raviolo!", a clear Noodle with Creamy Scarmorza infused with Ink at its center, the Risotto to follow was an equally impressive plate pairing Carnaroli Rice with purple Shrimp from Sanremo, a bold bouquet of Herbs completing the picture with stewed Tomatoes and crispy Capers. Offering up a perfect duo of Veal Tortelli lightly dressed in fragrant sauce as the meal marched on, it was after a lengthy delay that a Croquette of confit Lamb concluded savory rounds, another thirty minutes pushing past 23h00 as we inexplicably awaited a nameless local Cheese with candied Fruit and toasted Panettone. Perhaps valuing desserts more than the average diner, but previously quite impressed by most of Italy's Pastry Chefs, a Smoked Meringue with Rosemary and Aged Balsamic spoke to great balance achieved by way of tradition, the "Black Cloud of Marshmallow and Licorice" unfortunately coming through both bitter and acidic with no favors done to it by the oddly placed glass of Almond Milk. Taking a double Espresso with Mignardises, September 10th having just begun, it was with a bit of chat that the whole team thanked us for spending the night in their restaurant before offering a complimentary copy of the menu, still a memorable experience - though one that could have been done in half the time without compromising the night at all.

Out in the suburbs and away from everything, and totally worth the effort to get there. This is a 2-star Michelin restaurant, the top of the line on our two month trip. We had one of the tasting menus (three tasting menu choices, the only choices). Everything was unique, from the several amuse-bouches to the menu items to dessert, fresh and delicate. - Filled mussels - Cod in a crispy bread crust with olive oil and turnip/apple vinegar - Tortelli filled with ossobuco of veal marrow, with saffron and parmigiano - Beef oxtail stewed wine and white truffle cream, with pureed potatoes - Pureed persimmon and chestnuts - An assortment of desserts Service was impeccable, as was the presentation of each dish, the decor of the restaurant, and everyone attitude. We had an outstanding meal.

This place is amazing on every level. Service is impeccable, operating like a well-oiled machine. Due to a delay with a tour earlier in the day, we had to make an adjustment to the time of our reservation. Nicola was incredibly accommodating, responsive, and friendly, and able to get us a table an hour later than originally planned. The restaurant is a bit off the beaten path in Milan, but locals assured us that it was an excellent choice. We were not disappointed. We chose the Tour of Italy menu, and every course was a delight. We also opted for the wine pairing, which was creative and thoughtful at every turn. My only regret is that we don't have time in our schedule to return and try more options. Each plate being delivered to other tables looked like a work of art. If in Milan, this is a must try!!!

We ordered their Grand Tour in Italy with wine pairing. Beautiful presentation. Impeccable service. Big flavor. Perfect amount of food - well, I was overly stuffed, but it was the perfect amount for my husband and everyone else. My absolute favorite was the spring onion pasta. It looked simple, but tasted sublime, not oniony, but delicate and creamy. Next favorite was the burrata salad, super creamy. Only dish I didn't like was the mullet and squid, unusual for me because I love squid, but the raw squid tasted super fishy. My husband loved the wine pairing. You can laugh, but I kept forgetting to take photos and only remembered after finishing the dish, hence the cleared plates. Oops.

KenScale: 8.0/10 I've recently visited northern Italy with my girlfriend for a 10-day vacation. Exploring the beauty of Italian food, which has always been one of my favorite cuisines, was an important mission during this trip. Coming from New York City where you have a ton of awesome fine dining places as well as casual joints, I tried hard to have a balanced list of restaurants ranging from modern, haute cuisine palaces to traditional trattorias. I was especially mindful of the fact that my more successful Italian experiences in New York City tended to be more on the casual side with straightforward ingredients and techniques than places that attempted to bring something unique to the table. My first stop of the trip was in Milan where Il Luogo has been gaining acclaims for a long time, with two Michelin stars. In choosing among many restaurants in Milan, I was intrigued by the forward-looking direction of the kitchen and wanted to see how the chefs put together a modern version of Italian cuisine as we know it. Overall, I had a pleasant experience but there were some misses in the "Grand Tour in Italy" menu of five dishes (at 95 euros per person) that made the meal less than perfect. After a couple of delicious amuse bouche dishes, I thoroughly enjoyed the first course, a mix of vegetables including pureed legume that had very elegant balance of flavor with different ingredients working harmoniously together. Too bad the subsequent dishes, although solid on their own, couldn't quite match the magical touch of the first one. Cod fish in a crispy bread crus was gently cooked for nice texture, but I felt it could've down way better without being inside the crust. I initially liked the wheat spaghetti with green onion and hot pepper sauce, but the sauce ended up being a bit too gooey to truly enjoy the pasta dish. Lamb and its offals cooked confit in extra virgin olive oil was more successful, with delicately cooked meat that worked nicely with sauce of wild herbs and candied fruit. For the dessert, the kitchen put together a modernized version of tiramisu with yogurt and mascarpone cream, coffee biscuit, ricotta flavored with bergamot and Sicilian capers candied in honey. This interesting mixture of ingredients looked promising at first, but I was already starting to miss the more traditional tiramisu after a couple of scoops; the flavor of the dish was more on the funky side and not in a good way. I made most of the restaurant reservations in Italy through concierge service for my credit card, so I'm not sure how difficult getting the reservation at Il Luogo is. I absolutely enjoyed the intimate feel of the dining space that makes you feel like you're eating at an art gallery, with colorful art pieces on the wall everywhere. There is an extensive wine list, of course, and I really liked the Italian cabernet sauvignon that the sommelier highly recommended. The service of professional staffs was up to the level of a comparable fine dining establishment. Would I have had better experience at Il Luogo with different dishes? It was hard to tell; maybe I should've tried their longer tasting menus. Overall, I appreciated the ingenious approach to classical Italian cooking that the restaurant was pursuing, but the execution could've been slightly improved for a more satisfying cooking.

Beautifully executed, elegant but respectful elaboration of traditional Italian cooking - meaning perfectly sourced ingredients with recognizable regional casts here and there. Nothing is aggressively overdone. The location is nowhere you'd happen on just by following the city sights and attractions, but the interiors are warm and comfortable, with much interesting art by local painters on the walls. The staff is very helpful and unassuming, especially with the encyclopedia-size wine list. Prices to match, but compared to its peers in Milan well within range. Tip: a lunch 3-course menu is available for €45. Wine choices can get very expensive (for deserving wines, in any case), but there are lots of them.

Aimo e Nadia is one of the most exquisite restaurants I've ever tried. Difficult to describe the experience in words. It's one of the highest expressions of Italian cuisine, but always made with very simple ingredients. Exceptional wine list. Astonishing.

Great restaurant, the food was amazing, the whiskey and wine were also great. But definitely not a cheap place. The waiters and servers were superb and in the end of the meal the chef came out to introduce himself. Overall the place was great and the experience was even better. Half of our party was over an hour late and the restaurant didn't push us to order or give up the table. They were very patient and friendly, and we got some free amuse bouche because we were waiting so long.

Absolutely brilliant. Very unassuming place with exceptional hospitality and otherworldly food. Seriously. The way they put build the dishes with the gloves and textures is like nothing else. Ended up in the kitchen with the staff. This is a can't miss experience.

One of the most memorable dining experiences! You can't beat having grandma/grandpa in the kitchen in Italy. This is a place where they really have a love for food and have an appreciate for it. Serious top quality ingredients, executed to perfection, sincere and thoughtful customer service. Aimo walked around to make sure everyone was enjoying their meal, while Nadia was busy in the kitchen. Even though they spoke 2 words of English and I spoke 4 words of Italian, they made us feel they appreciated us being there and that we enjoyed our meal Immensely. They are super friendly, so are the other people in the restaurant. The best thing I had there was the raw purple shrimp. One of the best things I have ever ate, it was rich yet light and full of delicious flavour. I can't tell you what's in it, but it was a perfect dish and it just tasted amazing. Only been here once, but I will never forget it and if I ever go back to Milan.... this would be a place I would have to go back to. I dont think I ever felt so welcomed at a 'top' restaurant by its owners. The last supper and Il Luogo di Aimo e Nadia are the two best things in Milano! (One cute thing, menu for the ladies have no price.... my appitiser alone was 70 Euros, yikes!) Only one thing that is not the best.... location. It's outside of city center and in some neighbourhood. So, it is not the easiest place to get to but worth the trip!!!

A real gem. A place where Leonard bernstein used to eat. Ask aimo to tell you the story how and why he invented "spaghetti al cipollotto". A heaven of gourmet classic Italian cuisine where the quality of food is everything. A classic. A must in Milano.
