Il Mannarino - Review - Central Station - Milan - The Infatuation

"There are several Il Mannarino butcher-restaurant locations in Milan, and they’re quickly expanding to other Italian cities. If you’re staying in a house with a proper kitchen, this is where you should pickup provisions for a night in. Choose fresh meat from the butcher counter, or cheat a little with pre-seasoned meatballs and freshly made ragu. If you’re dining in, the menu’s best enjoyed with a group. The explosive bombettes from Puglia may be even better than the roadside ones we’ve had in Southern Italy, and the classic Florentine steaks and Abruzzo-style lamb skewers will transport you to multiple Italian regions at once." - Elizabeth De Filippo-Jones

Martina and Angelo were very good. The food here was great. A cool concept of picking the meat and having it cooked for you. The menu items were also very tasty. Highly recommend the beef tartare

Loved this place so much that we went twice in 3 days. Friendly and knowledgeable staff who will guide you through the menu and the meat selection. Cheap and cheerful house wines. And most importantly delicious food. Listen to the staff after having provided your preferences and you won’t go wrong. Highly recommended!

We came to this restaurant because of the high rating — what a mistake. At 4 p.m. we ordered two beers, water, and some food: meatballs, Caesar salad, and smoky pasta with tomato sauce. The cheese smelled awful, like it had gone bad, and the pasta looked nothing like the photo — clearly made with the cheapest ingredients. The salad was wilted and disgusting, even though the menu bragged about it being “excellent.” Service was terrible. They were literally running a staff training class inside the restaurant while customers were eating. No manners, no sense of professionalism. Burnt chicken, drinks and bread brought only after reminders. Overall a total disaster. Never coming back, and absolutely do not recommend this place to anyone.

I was looking around to fuel for the night, and bumped into this concept restaurant. It looks like a butcher shop as you enter but thats the catch. You choose your meat and it's weighed in front of you before it's cooked, add sides or main dish, add a drink and you will be seated in an amazing cozy area. Loved it so much. Food is pretty amazing, meat lovers will definitely admire. Got a small taster antipasto (starter) from the house followed by the meat. If you choose multiple meat options they will serve you in sequence. I did not reserve but got a table as I was early. Sorry, vegans and vegetarians will not be happy here. I was served by Martina and she was lovely and really helpful with some add-ons. She popped over three bottles of house digestivo (flavoured liquor often serves as digestives) which was on the house. Now that's some experience. I'd say if your had a long day or been around exploring and want a nice cozy atmosphere, this is a great spot. Will love to come in again.

Mamma Mia! What a great surprise! We had an amazing experience at Il Mannarino Tenca. We ordered different meat cuts, and every single one was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. One of the highlights was the availability of gluten-free bread, which is often hard to find — and it was delicious! As someone with gluten and dairy allergies, I felt safe and well taken care of. Kudos to the staff for being so kind, attentive, and reassuring. They took our dietary restrictions seriously, double-checked ingredients, and made sure everything was adapted without fuss. This place is a must-visit in Milan if you’re looking for quality meats and a safe, welcoming experience for gluten-free and dairy-free eaters.

Great place, a must try for meat lovers. All the meat dishes were lovely. The amount of complimentary drinks have positively surprised us a lot. The pasta dish wasn't great but still 5 stars for the overall experience.

I must say that I am disappointed. I was looking forward to having tartar on pheasant, which is a typical dish in Italy. The serving was big, more like a main than a starter. But it was just meat, nothing else. No pecorino, ruccola, French fries, aïoli, just meat! For main, I ordered a skirt steak, medium RARE, but it came as medium or medium well. Ok, I get it, in Italy, you get what you order, nothing else. But for a steak, some chips, some aïoli, some mustard, some bearnaise would have been nice, just the meat is quite dull. The selection of beers is limited to Birra Moretti and an IPA. The house wine is a Primitivo, yes you can drink it, but is really very basic.

Amazing place with delicious steaks, great service and super polite crew 😊 I regret that we found this place so late during our stay at Milan. We took variety of steaks together with lambrusco. Steaks were done well, juicy and the meat was so delicate that it almost melted in the mouth. Highly recommended 🙂
