This review is following a long night shift at the hospital. All I gotta say is nurses gotta eat and that food on night shift has to be top tier because we're already fighting our brains and bodies to stay awake and keep our patients alive. The food we choose to fuel ourselves is sooo important. Il Mondo is a nightshift classic. Service is always fast and the food is always good which is what we really rely on. Absolutely love this place. We got: BONELESS CHICKEN FINGERS These are literally the best chicken fingers I've EVER had. I mean it. I always get these chicken fingers when I'm working in the city because these babies just make the shift vibes so much better. Always get the 8-count (or more if you're sharing), but seriously the batter they use is always crispy, nicely seasoned and salted and ALWAYS crispy. The chicken is perfectly salted EVERY time. I'm telling you I've ordered these babies so many times and the quality is top tier every time. I stand by what I said...the BEST chicken fingers I'ver EVER had. Also, get their honey mustard. Il Mondo's honey mustard is a MUST with their chicken fingers and fries. Stuff is liquid gold, with a perfect ratio of mustard and honey. Delish. PEPPERONI PIZZA Pepperoni pizza was so tasty! Simply delicious, crispy outer edge pepperoni, red sauce and mozzarella. The pizza is massive for a large like just massive. One slice is huge, I folded my pizza in half like I folded the crust in half kinda way, once I was a few bites in. Let me tell ya, the first bite is just, yes, because the pizza is hot, the cheese pull is there and the dough is chewy with the crust slightly crunchy so it's got a fabulous bite to it. That pepperoni is so flavorful, teeny bit spicy for someone with a super low spice tolerance, but I thought it was so yummy, the crispy outer edge is my favorite part. Every bite was thoroughly enjoyed. Il Mondo knows how to make a classic Pepperoni Pizza. ALFREDO PIZZA Have never had an Alfredo Pizza, but man what a funky combo! Alfredo and pizza united! Never would have thought this would work, but wow it's so good! They use the same delicious homemade pizza dough to start and top it with their Alfredo Sauce, grilled chicken and broccoli. It truly is such a surprisingly good combo, it's not too saucy, just enough that it is obviously an Alfredo sauce based pizza, their chicken is ALWAYS moist and that broccoli is fresh, with a slight crunch that you only get with fresh, not frozen broccoli with a slight char from the cooking process. Just divine. I love Il Mondo, everything on their menu is just fresh and delicious quality, through and through. I will say that getting delivery is preferred for me because there is literally no parking, unless you want to quickly double park with your hazard lights on and someone in the passenger seat. Totally up to you how you wanna get your food. But you have to try the food here, it's busssssin!

I usually stop by on the way home to pick up a quick dinner. The food is great and the service is wonderful! I have never had a sandwich wrapped so meticulously that it was so intact after the walk home. Highly recommend this place!

I ordered a margarita pizza slice and a tuna sub. The slice of pizza was heated in about 2 minutes and tasted amazing. The slice was also giant. It barely fit on the plate it was so big. The sub was as long as my arm and had alot of tuna on it too. The I went at night and the service was great and I got my food quick.

Reposting as I went back today and same issue as a couple of weeks ago. I got a pepperoni slice, and it is impossible to hold in your hand without it collapsing. I tried folding it, and the sauce, cheese and pepperoni did not adhere to the dough. They are not cooking this correctly. Never had a problem at the old location. I would not buy pizza slices unless you enjoy uncooked pizza dough.

Ordered buffalo wings but received plain wings when I called for them to correct the mistake they informed me that they couldn’t do nothing about it and that it was too far and I basically had to take it or leave it. After spending $50 I find it ridiculous that I couldn’t even get my order correct and they didn’t try to Fix the situation either. ( keep in mind you can hear them talking in the background saying that I hundred percent did order Buffalo ) Now don’t get me wrong. It looks delicious but it’s not what I ordered.

Best Buffalo Chicken pizza around.

I am a director at a neighborhood community center right up the street from IL Mondo so i would frequent them for myself as well as for the kids who attend my center on fridays. Recently i went there for lunch and noticed a sign outside that had lunch specials available. I was interested so i went inside and attempted to place my order. They said that they don’t have lunch specials, so my response was there’s a sign outside with them posted on it. The man then walks outside , i got with him, and we both see the sign with the lunch specials posted. He then proceeded to take a marker out of his pocket and wrote “Not Valid” next to the prices. No big deal, so i ask if they were going to honor the prices for me . He refused without offering an explanation so i asked why not if this is what you guys have advertised out front. To that his response was “ we’re not doing it. Right then is when i realized the disgusting audacity this man was displaying. Had that sign said not valid before i got there i wouldn’t even be writing a review. Had they had the decency to honor it or at least offer me an explanation as to why , this would be different. All i could take from that is maybe me being a young black man i am not a valued customer at IL mondo , and that’s absolutely fine ! But let’s just make these things clear is all i ask because if you can treat me like that i can imagine how black children are treated walking in there without any adult.

Tasty pizza. I had the meat lovers. It comes with red pepper sprinkled on, so if you don't like that be sure to specify no heat. I ordered through Yelp. It was very easy and my pizza was waiting for me when I got there. The man at the counter was very pleasant. Quick walk from the hospital. All in all very convenient.

" Good pizza ; tasty sauce " The pizza here is good . It tastes fresh and I love the sauce . It gives more of a Greek flavor pizza ; but it's tasty . The vibe is friendly. The service is good . We definitely will be aware of this place when in need of a slice .

Il Mondo Pizza in Mission Hill is straight-up the best pizza in Boston. Their Chicken Bacon Ranch is fire, perfectly crispy crust, juicy chicken, crispy bacon, and that ranch drizzle hits different. Always fresh, always on point, and the vibes are chill. Fast service, great prices, and flavor that slaps every time. If you know, you know, this spot is a Mission Hill classic.

Buffalo chicken pizza! That's is all. I'm not sure what it is about the pizza, It just works!. For years we always ordered there during late night nursing shifts at the hospital. They never disappoint on any of the menu items. You also get a good portion of food every time. And for a reasonable price. The Food also arrives quickly. I've been to the restaurant a few times just to grab a slice and it's always quick and pleasant interaction with the staff. They have seating there is you want to eat in. I miss being close by to order from there. I make it a point to stop by and grab a slice every time I'm in the area.

This was the only place open late at night on a holiday, I needed the pick me up and the sub hit the spot, it was take out snd arrived quickly so I can't speak to the in person experience.

Ordered Il Mondo from Brigham & Women's hospital the day after giving birth. Open late, delicious and hit the spot, fast delivery. Mozzarella sticks and pasta dishes were great. The ultimate comfort food! 10/10 recommend if you just had a baby. Probably in other situations, too.

Great pizza, and very efficient service, every time I got to il mondos, I'm in and out in 5 min, absolutely love this place for a late night study snack, highly recommend

I walked in and has a delicious piece piece of buffalo chicken pizza with ranch in 5 minutes. The pizza was delicious and the slice was huge. The staff were kind and helpful. I will be coming back.

Always open late my place to get Pizza after a night out the staff is friendly and clean also a great place to get pizza after drinking

This is the spot to be after a night out around the area. The pizza slices are HUGE. I get the Buffalo Slice which is the best one out of all of them in my opinion. Not a place to sit down and eat you should grab and go. The staff are NOT nice but and will try to coerce you into buying food that they might have to throw out at the end of the night. But overall, a good spot to stays open late. Overall, come here if you are looking for giant pizza slices for 4 bucks late at night.

One of the best pizzas I have had the buffalo chicken. They are huge slices for ~$4 per slice and absolutely delicious with crispy thin crust, flavorful ranch, big pieces of chicken, and fantastic service. I would highly recommend and will come back

I like their pizza but recently the prices on Uber eats skyrocketed, a cheese pizza is nearly $50 due to a base cost of $27 +$20 fee for a medium (which there's no choice , either medium or large for +$30). If that's their new pricing I won't order anymore.

they have the worst service. they do not deliver your food on time ever and if they say they do you never receive it. The delivery people either steal It or deliver to the wrong address. I was nine months pregnant when they didn't deliver my pizza and wings and when I called them they told me to dispute it with Grubhub when I just wanted them to resend the food. not good people at all

I used to order delivery from Il Mondo for work events at least 2x a month, so I think I've been a patron at least 30 times. It's probably the best fast food pizza / sandwich place in the area, in my opinion. Now that I no longer work in the area, I actually crave their buffalo chicken wraps and mushroom pizza! I've never visited their storefront but have never really had major problems with online ordering directly from their website. I have to admit, sometimes the order is slightly off (it's probably happened like 3 or 4 times) where they forget to bring an item, forget the chicken on a salad, or give me a pizza with slightly different toppings on it. However, everytime I've called back and tell them about the mix-up, they've been able to refund the missing item or come back with the right item. I don't think their salads are worth the value (it's a lot of lettuce and minimal other toppings) but they certainly are huge! I also got the pasta once and thought it was very gummy. I would stick with their pizzas, sandwiches, wraps, and dinners. I would suggest that if you order delivery (or even takeout) to open up the boxes right away to make sure they're correct!

While my husband was in BWH I figured I'd break up a night so we didn't have to have a hospital supper(though he liked BWH food) and we split a steak and cheese wrap. He enjoyed it I thought it was meh

I ordered a Caprese salad and got what looked like a Frankenstein salad with a bit of every salad on the menu.

The best fresh & fast take out! I literally love everything on the menu. From the massive pizza slices, huge salads with pita bread , and great appetizers (seasoned fries, motz sticks, and chicken tenders). You will not be disappointed! My go to meals are definitely the steak tip Greek salad and the buffalo chicken wrap! Extra points for friendly staff & super fast deliveries. The BCH nurses love you guys!

Nice no frills spot. Open late. Great, attentive service. Got the chicken parm and spicy fries and a 20 oz. soda ($22 total). Chicken parm was fresh and hot off the griddle, nice fresh bread with corn meal on the bottom. Fries were hot, fresh. This is what you want when you go to a straight up sub place, hot and fresh. Was happy with the whole experience.

Since I live in the area, I frequent here often. This is one of those places that you can go to for a quick hot meal on the go. The pizza slices are around $5 and they are huge! You'll only need a slice. I usually alternate between the Buffalo chicken or barbecue chicken.

Terrible pizza. Through away 2 boxes of pizza. While picking up the pizza they tried to con a disabled lady charging her 3.50 for 1 water. Never going back here

I called them to let them know they screwed up my order and all I got was a hassle. I ordered a #7 calzone : spinach, ricotta, ROASTED RED PEPPERS, and mozzarella. I got green peppers that I loathe. So here's your proof Il mondo. Do you see red peppers?

Hey upon ordering for the 1st time at this restaurant a large calzone. The dough came both burnt on the underside and undercooked in the middle the vegetables were also raw. Upon informing the restaurant about this issue I received a bad attitude and was told they were doing me favor by giving me a partial refund. They refused to acknowledge that the food was burnt even though I sent photos and undercooked and what I was told that I simply didn't like their food I tried to explain to them that that was not the case but they did not want to hear any of it the manager was very rude. And also upon ordering I was told that there were out of many ingredients which I agreed to switch to others. All in all the rudeness the bad food and the way they handle business is unacceptable and if I were you I would not bother with them Save the time headache and your money I'd give 0 stars if I could And it has also come to my attention based on what the staff said previously that that was not the only order that had a issue in fact multiple orders had this issue

The pizza is very average (at least the cheese and veggie ones). However you do get a nice big slice for your money, and the spicy fries portion is also huge (not spicy though - just seasoned). I would hesitate to say it's the best in Boston, but still a good to-go and late night option.

The customer service is great!!! My food was made fast and just how I wanted it.The food is made with love and very delicious, you can tell the workers care. I would definitely recommend their chicken cutlet sandwich and their buffalo ranch pizza but everything on the menu is great.

I've never really been a huge pizza fan, but the very first time I stumbled across this place was during my college days. I tried a slice of the buffalo chicken pizza from here, and I swear I went to heaven. This style and flavor of pizza is to die for. It's too bad I live an hour and a half away from here, otherwise I would make this place my second home. This place has delicious pizza and the nicest staff every time I've been here!!!

They have the worst service ever. They leave you waiting. Waiting to order, waiting for food. They will give your food away even though you just stood and waited ten minutes for a reheated pizza. This is the third time they have done this. They don't deserve the business. If they can't service you correctly. They gave my order away to someone who walked in while I was already waiting for it. No consideration of time. It's supposed to be fast food. But you can't even get your order out. Rude. Inconsistent and unapologetic I want to give them zero stars. Because they just don't care.

Can't understand why there isn't some more love for Il Mondo's. I had food delivered to my hotel and it was super tasty. The buffalo pizza rocks...especially at midnight and the mozzarella sticks were good too. The order arrived fast, intact and accurate.

if I could give this trash ass place 0 stars I definitely would. Their workers be eating while they're making the food. I have found multiple green spots in my fries and and pizza. I went one day to get a slice of pizza and I seen flies all on the pizza. While waiting there to take my order the man looked at me and continued to have another conversation while I was standing there, waiting for my order to be took. Also, the pizza is very overpriced $5.50 for a buffalo pizza is just outrageous. You have to pay three dollars for a soda on top of that on top of that the pizza don't be really be that good sometimes I can be soggy as you're still in and you can taste it old. The pizza there is also very greasy you take a bite and all you can taste is the grease. I've also seen them, put their spinach in trash bags and store them under the cabinets. The workers also be licking their fingers while they're making the food and maybe also be having their toes out. Overall, this place is a zero and I would not recommend. RUN from this place.

if there was a option to put no stars i would do it automatically there pizza is overpriced a can soda is 3.00$ that is crazy. Also costumers service horrible i was there a they where screaming at a old man cause he was taking to long to choose what he wanted. Another thing the cheese pizza was very green and soggy . when ordering the food they where eating a sucking on there fingers when finishing which i thought i very inappropriate... Also there where a lot of flies and even seen one was in the pizza is sitting there. They immediately said they would give me another pizza in the oven when confronted. also my daughter was crying as a baby would normally do and they had came and screamed at me to shut my daughter at in front of everyone .

Solid. I was working over at the Brigham one night and didn't feel like cafeteria food or Au Bon Pain. I used yelp food delivery and the got a large buffalo chicken pizza for about $23 (including tip and delivery charge) within the hour. First slice was fantastic but I was so hungry anything would have tasted good. Second slice was just alright. The crust was still a little doughy, they could have left it in the oven for just a little longer. I also thought it was weird they topped their buffalo chicken pizza off with parsley instead of green onion. Interesting and different in a bad way.

WTH happened to this place? A little over a year ago this place had the best pizza and subs. I used to get the buffalo chiken pizza all the time and me and my son was always satisfied. Then all of a sudden their food became disgusting. Pizza is always soggy, windings soggy. I ordered a simple buffalo wing dinner and Margherita pizza tonight. The delivery guy came quick but the pizza was cold mushy and lacking flavor. The buffalo wing plate was ok but hardly edible because they didn't include the blue cheese. Do you know what's it's like eating buffalo wings without the blue cheese? It sucks for your tongue!!! This is common sense... Please tell me what happened? Did they change management or terminate a chef? Don't order from here its not worth the money and aggravation. They need to bring quality and taste back to their food or this place is going to go out of business very soon.

Solid pizzeria that I've gone to for lunch several times. Large pizza slices that they heat up before munching on them. I've had the buffalo pizza a couple times and it's got a nice flavor profile. Added fries one day which were about as expected. Have never gotten a full pie, but I expect it would feed few adults nicely.

Worst Pizza Ever. I no they just moved uo the street but I thought they would have an oven to use. Ordered(thru grub Hub) a large classico pizza.....received a medium cold round piece of toast with tomato pieces and a tiny bit of mozzeraa chees and musrooms thrown on top after the dough had cooked....for 22 dollars.. Called to complain...so they send another one just as bad...both inedible.

My friend was raving about this place and said it was the best buffalo chicken pizza he has ever had. He raved about it so much that we had to go get some even though we just had dinner (plus it was close by). I thought he was over-hyping the food and I sensed that I wouldn't actually agree with him because I don't like eating buffalo chicken pizza because it's usually too saucy and overwhelming. Boy was I wrong! It was seriously the best buffalo chicken pizza I have ever had. The buffalo chicken pizza had the perfect proportion of sauce-to-meat ratio. The chicken wasn't overly drenched and there was just enough ranch dressing that the pizza wasn't soggy yet added a delicious flavor. The crust wasn't burnt and had the perfect crispy texture. I really can't stop raving about this pizza and want to go back soon for more!!!

Pizza is bad not good..dry little to no cheese or sauce staff not friendly and when it was slow they sit at window people watching and talking about passer by

This is a great spot to grab a slice - I particularly love the buffalo chicken and the pesto. Slices are HUGE and really good, the crust is flavorful and crispy. Unless you have a huge appetite, 1 slice is enough for lunch. I went for two today and man... I overdid it. NO regrets.

They never seem to disappoint, unless they're out of something and that's just my fault for not being fast enough getting there!! Slices are hearty in size and consistent in flavor,...what more could you want?

Though Il Mondo can bang out great subs in little time, the point of the place is the pizza. Like the New Jersey pizzerias of my youth, Il Mondo serves whole pies and slices from a large rack of pies. While artisinal pizza purists justifiably insist that you should only eat whole fresh pies to get the best experience, there's just something Bacchanalian about staring at ten pizzas stacked on top of each other and choosing the best slices from the pile. The staff is friendly but the seating isn't, so be prepared to grab and go.

I've ordered from here thrice now and the pizza was ok the first two times. Due to alot of reviews about the Buffalo ranch pizza I ordered that first, it wasn't as spectacular as many people have mentioned. Then I tried the mozzarella pizza, that was a big let down. Today I thought I'd keep it simple, ordered a cheese pizza with two toppings - mushroom and green peppers. The peppers weren't cut evenly, that's ok. But the toppings barely covered half the pizza, that was disappointing. After being charged $1.5 for each extra topping I get a pizza which is half covered.

I ordered a pizza and an appetizer from them for delivery, and when they called 40 minutes later (me thinking they were at the door with my food), they told me that they couldn't fulfill the order and that I lived too far away (I live in Boston, by the way). He wasn't apologetic at all. I can't understand how it took that long for him to tell me that; he clearly just looked at the order 40 minutes after receiving it. Now it's 11:30 at night on a Sunday and other options are closed, and I'm starving. Terribly managed place with bad customer service.

If you had asked me a year ago, this place would have gotten 5 stars hands down. Unfortunately, since they have moved down the road, things have changed for the worse. If I had one bad experience, I'd just would've assumed it was a bad day, mistakes get made, etc., but this is not the case. The first time they sent me a pizza with no sauce on it. It was still ok I guess, but seems like a pretty big part to leave out. The next time they completely got my order incorrect, and I will admit when I called to ask what's up, they sent me another pie 30 min later. I could hear employees complaining though while I was on the phone when whoever answered my call asked them to make the correct order. At this point I should've learned my lesson. The last time they were supposedly unable to reach me on the phone, which is fine since my apartment has a front desk with a person at it 24/7. Instead of asking the desk or leaving there though, the driver decided to leave it on the ground out front next to the trash. I'm no health expert, but I would assume that probably wouldn't pass as acceptable with anyone. When they're working good it's great pizza, but I'm going to say unless you walk in to pick up a slice and can watch them for yourself, it's not worth the crapshoot. Penguin's across the street is just as good without the problems.
