Il Papavero

We made a reservation for a very quiet night at this lovely and quirky restaurant full of interesting art. They seated us in one of their rooms with only another couple, so it was very intimate and romantic. The service was impeccable and the experience was wonderful. We decided to order a la carte because my husband is a pescetarian so we didn't want to worry about them having to make adjustments. We received their amuse bouche to start (which the chef makes for everyone, it's included in the experience) which were absolutely delicious, though one was meat-based. We also ordered the cuttlefish "tagliatelle" which is cuttlefish formed into a long pasta - served cold in a really good cream sauce, it was excellent. Then we had mezzo rigatoni with sting ray - amazing, such an interesting dish. And fish my husband and I had separate mains, he ordered a cod dish which he loved and I ordered the duck which I found to be overcooked but otherwise very flavorful - I should have known better than to order duck in Italy as it's not really their specialty. We also loved the dessert - we ordered the milk and honey one and it comes with all these tiny additional desserts. The wine we ordered was a really nice Piedmonte orange wine - Demarie Sabbia - which was so, so good, I highly recommend ordering that if you like orange wines as it went so well with everything we ordered and it was one of their more affordable bottles. Overall we were very impressed and felt well taken care of. Our final bill including wine was about 150€ which is reasonable for a Michelin star restaurant and such a high quality meal. Just a small warning that it's not obvious where the main door is, it's around the corner from where Google maps brought us, and you have to buzz in. Reservations are absolutely a must, though we made ours the same day.

A very fantastic luxury experience dining experience! We were in the region and spotted there was a Michelin star restaurant and decided to go on a Thursday night. We had the 7 course tasting menu at Papavero and it was excellent (they also had a 5 course option and both options can come with wine pairings). We thoroughly enjoyed each course and it felt like it was fairly good quality to value ratio. The staff were lovely and catered to the fact we didn't speak any Italian! If you are in the region, I would highly recommend visiting for a good value Michelin star restaurant experience.

Il papavero is a Michelin star restaurant that is also famous for having the best Price/quality. Located in a old building, you will be surprised knowing that you are going up into an apartment, where different rooms will be the dining rooms. I was lucky to get an almost private room which made me feel really like home. All the dishes are magistrally presented but what i will never forget is how good was the Pasta mista with octopus and potatoes, which they consider their Cavallo di battaglia. Totally worth the experience. I would go again everyday.

Best restaurant I have been to in Italy by far. The food is astounding and the service is just as incredible! We got the tasting menu and every dish was so good, and each wine pairing was perfect. Don’t miss this gem!

I don't think this is worth a star. Food is just Ok, nothing special. Service must be improved, our experience was not good. The atmosphere is amazing though

Our best restaurant during our trip in italy. Michelin star well deserved, and the place is really nice. Value for money is unbeatable here!

Outstanding food and great service! The 9 courses degustation menu was absolutely fantastic and the dishes are very unique! Highly recommended.
