The 24 Best Restaurants In Venice, Italy - Venice - The Infatuation

"There’s a lot to love about Il Paradiso Perduto, including the massive portions, occasional live jazz, and big space that’s always loud and feels like a party. Be sure to book ahead, as it’s the only way you’ll be able to get a table inside or out by the canal—otherwise, you’ll be stuck standing next to the water, eating your cicchetti, and peering creepily inside like Javert does in Les Miserables. Look for the pasta machine in the window cranking out fresh bigoli, which they use in a dish that comes with so many prawns, scallops, and mussels that you can hardly see the pasta. The large fried seafood plate hits all of the right crispy and salty notes, and is perfect if you need something bigger to share." - gillian mcguire, carlo mantuano

Hidden gem just a couple of minutes away from the main tourist route. Delicious and gorgeous portions of local cuisine in the genuine atmosphere of Venice. I would say that every dish is suitable for two, and the house special antipasti is really huge. For now it was the best restaurant in Venice for us.

Cool vibe and friendly staff. Felt authentic especially with the menu in Italian and no other languages. However because of this (and no phone signal to translate the menu) I ordered a dish which was not to my taste. However my husbands food was tasty and we enjoyed the dessert and drinks a lot. The most expensive meal we have had in Venice but we appreciated the atmosphere.

Loved this restaurant! Taken by Venetian friends, as an out of the way locals place. Just delicious! Superb food, we just over ate... the red snapper here, was the best dish in the trip we had to NE Italy, including Bologna and Venice. The seafood platter was enough for 4 to share. We will go back next time we are in Venice.

Overly-priced. I ordered a mussel which was basically boiled with water, and a spaghetti with too much shells again…both two doses tasted only average, and 50+ euro. And no internet in the restaurant - I then asked for WiFi, they refused.

Better to have the reservation in advance. Even though we only have one hour to finish up the mixed seafood platters, nothing to complain about the Venice must-eat. Recommend just showing the menu to the tourists and asking us to use Google Translate to read. Because of the printout menu, we can order one more dish and save our 30 minutes of waiting.

Very lively restaurant and bar in local neighborhood. Excellent seafood cicchetti and attractive outdoor seating by the canal. Didn't eat in restaurant part but was packed out by locals. Well worth a visit.

We had the mixed seafood platter that had sardines, cod, octopus, oyster, shrimp - all treated differently.. some poached or marinated in dressings, some turned into cutlets. All were flavor bombs and incredibly fresh. They really think through their food. We also tried the risotto with squid ink and it was perfectly cooked with so much finesse. Service is warm, prices are justified and it is a pleasure to dine at this quieter side of Venice! We will be back soon!

The place for superb fish dishes in Venice. Packed with local regulars and foodie tourists it is wonder that people can get a table here. But once in, the food is absolutely the star - just so good. Make reservations well in advance if you don’t want to be disappointed. All classic Venetian seafood dishes are served in large portions.
