The 16 Best Restaurants In Venice, Italy 2024

"There’s a lot to love about Il Paradiso Perduto, including the massive portions, occasional live jazz, and big space that’s always loud and feels like a party. Be sure to book ahead, as it’s the only way you’ll be able to get a table inside or out by the canal—otherwise you’ll be stuck standing next to the water, eating your cicchetti, and peering creepily inside like Javert does in Les Miserables. Look for the pasta machine in the window cranking out fresh bigoli, which they use in a dish that comes with so much seafood (prawns, scallops, mussels) that you can hardly see the pasta. The large fried seafood plate hits all of the right crispy and salty notes, and is perfect if you need something bigger to share." - gillian mcguire

The place for superb fish dishes in Venice. Packed with local regulars and foodie tourists it is wonder that people can get a table here. But once in, the food is absolutely the star - just so good. Make reservations well in advance if you don’t want to be disappointed. All classic Venetian seafood dishes are served in large portions.

The food was amazing, the atmosphere was very cozy, and the service was fast. It was a really nice experience with great quality at a good price. Highly recommend!

This place was amazing! Such interesting seasonal dishes. I had octopus on asparagus puree with broad beans which was wonderful and a risotto on tiny mussels and agretti. The staff were friendly and informative - especially Camilla! Music as well. Highly recommend.

Food was alright, nothing too special. The seafood plate was big for two people. I think four people could share it. I also ordered the squid ink pasta which took the kitchen forever to make. Didn't taste good at all (or maybe it was me who was not used to that dish). The plus was the customer service. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. Same to the owner. FYI, lucky that I reserved a table in advance. It was packed when I got there.

A lovely and vibrant restaurant, buzzing with locals and live entertainment! We hadn't booked a table but we were lucky enough to have arrived early enough for them to squeeze us in. Please reserve a table if you do want to visit as you don't want to miss out on the delicious food! I had the pesto linguine and hubby had the seafood linguine for mains and we had fennel, orange and cheese salad and calamari to start, simply delicious and full off flavour! Highly recommend!

Paradiso Perduto...love eating here! I've been frequenting this boisterous spot in Cannaregio for over 25 years and every time it's very good and a lot of fun. Beautiful and skillfully-prepared Venetian fare. Make a reservation.

We were recommended this restaurant as where the locals go. Had to wait a little as we did not make a reservation. It was crowded to wait inside as we came during dinner time. However the staffs were always checking on us so we did not feel abandoned or lost. One of the staff patiently helped us to explain and translate the menu. Sorry we did not get his name but he was especially helpful and attentive with his service. Overall it was a great experience and we enjoyed some local cuisines we had here, mainly the seafood dishes.

Nice vibe and energy in this popular place in Cannaregio district. Despite being super crowded, the service has been fast. We've had octopus with polenta, bigoli al nero di seppia, tagliatelle with rosole pesto and everything was delicious! Definetely one of the highlights of my trip!
