"Both father and son are in the kitchen at this simple yet elegant small restaurant, serving up imaginative dishes that focus not only on local recipes and ingredients but also on gastronomic influences from the whole of Italy." - Michelin Inspector

"This Michelin-starred imaginative seafood restaurant, inspired by a small Venetian theater of yesteryear, is an intimate dining spot with just nine tables. The brainchild of Gianni Bonaccorsi, who had a vision to create a fine-dining place in this spot more than a decade ago, it serves a seasonal menu that’s at once creative and well researched. Expect modern interpretations on classic Venetian favorites, with a focus on locally sourced fish that can change daily. The decor is as inviting as the food, with white cloth–covered tables set in a wood-beam-and-brick dining space. Reservations are essential. Il Ridotto is open for lunch and dinner and offers both prix-fixe and à la carte menus."

"Il Ridotto is located just east of St Mark’s on a plaza teeming with tourist traffic, but the restaurant emanates a calm elegance from its small, brick-clad premises. Tasting menus (of five, seven, or nine courses) are the thing to get here, offering the range of seafood and meaty creations of chef and owner Gianni Bonaccorsi. The beautifully plated dishes change seasonally but might include remarkably subtle renditions of risotto with yellow tomatoes and burrata, or pork cheek and belly with chamomile-flavored creamed potato and green apple." - Anne Hanley

Had a fantastic meal here, highly recommended. It’s expensive, but very much worth the price - go for lunch if you want the best value. Each course was beautifully presented and delicious. Expect portions to be smaller (plenty!) and the quality to be far above average, with attentive service. Their wine suggestions for local wines were perfectly matched to the meal - I had the Rabbit, my wife enjoyed the fish of the day, and we shared a very nice seafood pasta and a wonderfully simple dessert. Also had a very nice regional Vermouth.

We always go to Il Ridotto when we visit Venice from Australia. Last Tuesday we very much enjoyed the flavour of the lobster and rabbit dishes - such surprising and delicious tastes. I loved the white wine the waiter chose for me, to go with the lobster. It is fun to try the amuse bouche and small sweet things they give you free at the beginning of the meal and with a hot drink at the end. They found some real mint to make tea for my daughter and me. They were so kind. Il Ridotto felt like a peaceful haven at the heart of a very busy city.

Il Ridotto provided one of the most extraordinary dining experiences we’ve ever had! We chose the seven-course dinner, and every dish was an absolute masterpiece, beautifully crafted and bursting with flavor. From the delicate starters to the decadent dessert, each plate was a perfect balance of tradition and innovation. What truly elevated our evening, however, was the exceptional service from our waitress, Sonia. She was warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable, guiding us through the meal with enthusiasm and a genuine passion for the food. Her attention to detail made us feel completely cared for throughout the evening. The intimate and welcoming ambiance of the restaurant, paired with Sonia’s outstanding hospitality and the impeccable quality of every dish, made this a night to remember. Il Ridotto is a must-visit for anyone in Venice seeking an unforgettable culinary adventure!

We ordered from the a la carte menu. The lobster and scallops taste amazing. The squid ink pasta is a little too spicy for me, but my mum likes it a lot. The wine is just average tho. The waitress was very helpful, explained the dishes well Good experience overall if you are looking for a quiet place to dine in Venice!

Il Ridotto is a small fine dining restaurant run by a father-son duo who recreate traditional cuisine with a modern twist. Most ingredients are from Venice, and one of the three wine pairing options only contains wine from the region, too. Service was friendly and attentive. Initially, the pace at which the various courses were served was just perfect, however, as the restaurant became busier during the night, things slowed down a bit. We found the dishes all of high quality. Based on local tradition, all dishes were centered around local produce and fish from the lagoon. If you like well-made food served in a nice, relaxed atmosphere, you will enjoy a night out at Il Ridotto.

We were extremely excited about our meal at Il Ridotto restaurant but ended up very disappointed with the service. The waiter was RUDE! We arrived and ordered a 7 course taster menu. The details were not on the menu and we almost had to drag it out of him. The waiter did mention he was busy but after 2.5 hours we had only had 3 tiny starter taster plates and a tiny salad and by this point we were very hungry. We called the waiter over and asked is they could serve the two main taster plates a little faster. It was now after 10pm. The waiter responded with "if you are hungry you can always get a pizza from next door." The food was delicious but considering the amount of money we spent and the rudeness of the waiter I would not recommend this restaurant!

Google
A really lovely dining experience. I would give it a 4.5 out of 5. We ate from the a la carte menu and it was very tasty. I also had one of the wine trails which was also a nice mix of different white and red wines. This was a really great meal and I would definitely recommend it. When you go to fine dining restaurants you obviously hold it to a very high standard so 4.5 out of 5 should not be seen as a negative at all. The young man who served us was great and very polite. The only negative in this regard was the service slowed a bit as the restaurant got busier but this is no reflection on how good he was at explaining the food and wines etc.

Yelp
This is a small intimate restaurant. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation but we were seated immediately. Much needed cold water was poured as we perused the menu. There is an option to order off the menu, a 5 course sea menu or a 7 course research menu. We opted for the research menu The wine list is impressive. They have by the glass, standard, and large format bottle options. They also have wine flight options. I think it was a 5 and 7 glass option. We decided on the research menu. We asked our server what he thought the best pairing would be. He stated the 5 course wine pairing was all local wines, that paired well with the dishes that were being prepared for the evening. How could we not go with that option. Prosecco was poured, bread and olive oil were brought out. The Prosecco was crisp and light. I usually think overly sweet but this was completely different, in a good way. I didn't want to fill up on bread but I figured I had to try it. The crust of the bread had a really nice, lite bite to it, the center was pillowy soft. The first dish was fish, maybe local sea bass, mixed with a little cream, that we were instructed to eat with the bread. The first bite took me back to,school lunch, tuna fish sandwich. It was a pumped up, high end, recreation of a tuna sandwich. The dish really made me excited to start our dinner journey. The next course was shrimp served with leeks in olive oil and topped with lemon. The portion size was perfect, the leeks gave the dish some texture and the shrimp was so fresh. We moved on to a salad as our next course. I don't think I've had a salad, on a tasing menu before. The dish looked simple with some mixed greens with a light vinaigrette. As I dig into the salad everything was at the bottom of the plate was excellent Beautiful knife cuts of dried prunes and tomatoes and maybe just a hint of ginger, gave the dish a palette cleansing reset for the next course. Next we had cuttlefish fish in I'm not sure what it was. The dish looked like a hamburger patty with greens on top. I thought tartare at first. As you ate the dish it kind of reminded us of bolognese in texture and taste the you get a piece of fish and it takes the dish in a completely different direction. The dish was really complex and kind of mind blowing. Now we moved on to the more bolder dishes. Bbq lobster served on top of a beurré blanc sauce, that was finished an herb infused oil. The lobster was rich in flavor . The bbq sauce, gave the dish some smokiness and the beurré blanc sauce gave the dish added butteriness. The sauce was so good, I sheepishly used a piece of bread to soak up the remaining sauce. Maybe not the classiest thing to do but damn the sauce was that good. Risotto was our next course. Now I understand Italian al dente risotto. Usually I think risotto is creamy and soft, this dish wasn't like that. It was borderline dry, but the tiny bits of burrata added creaminess, the rice had texture and the dish had some heat to it. It was spicy. This dish was eye opening for me Next was a beef course with endive and mashed potatoes. This was a next level, middle America, meat and potatoes dish. The meat was seasoned perfectly, the potatoes were more puree than a mashed tater and the endive tied the other two components together. A really nice dish. This was my daughter's favorite dish. Now we moved on to dessert. Dollops of cream and sorbet with what looked like crushed up Oreos with grapefruit granita on top. This was a bright, cut through the richness of that last few dishes, course. Our closing dish was tiny biscotti cookie with a coco covered piece of chocolate. The almond in the cookie, with the chocolate was a perfect bite. The other dish was a compressed fruit with a tiny blackberry pie. Think hostess pie but no seeds in the pie. This was a fun whimsical meal. The dishes were well thought out and executed to perfection. Our server was friendly and his English was impressive.

Yelp
The food was fine but not particularly mind blowing or inventive. They were playing piano covers of American pop songs which felt weird and out of place. We got the "research" tasting menu and wish we had gotten the seafood one instead because the seafood dishes (there were only 2) were definitely the best ones. Felt overpriced for the experience, we wouldn't go again.

Yelp
This place was incredible. They were so kind and accommodating. My husband has a fish allergy and the chef made him a special pizza as a welcome amuse bouche. The restaurant was an elegant spot inside with air conditioning and a nice break for all the crazy busy tourist areas. The food itself was outstanding and worth a visit. The best place we visited for dinner in Venice.

Yelp
Il Ridotto is a quiet polished oasis in the middle of a bustling tourist area. If you aren't looking for it specifically, it is easy to walk right past without noticing it. Inside is quiet, tranquil and a upscale place to have a lunch meal. The service and food was good, but nothing exceptional or surprising. A solid place to eat, but nothing to write home about.

Yelp
Lost in translation? Michelin one star. A very small, warm, contemporary dining room greets you with warm Venetian charm. The food, very good and speaks to the long Venetian culture. One problem, ultra simplified translations for non Italian speakers results in incomplete and unglamorous sounding dishes. For example we were told "meatballs". In fact it was three different seasoned balls of beef tartar. Each mind bogglingly complex and flavorful. The standout incorporating a molecular gastronomy technique to creating a frozen, intensely flavored tomato powder and coating a tartar ball with it. The end result tasting exactly like an American meatloaf. Another coated in black truffles and powdered olive oil that becomes rich and liquid when it touches the tongue. Go with a very open mind and let sensory dining envelope you. Asian influences are everywhere owing to the Venetian empire once being the center of trade with the East. It is reflected in the food. An example, a tender mussel dressed with what seems to be sweet miso paste and a sweetened soy sauce. Briny goodness that works. The traditional bacccala mantecato sits atop a bed of Indian spiced black lentils instead of polenta. It too works. Another example, a pork dish served two ways, also very good but different. A "sausage" wrapped in bacon. Coarse ground enriched by a lot of fat. Solid. The accompanying pork belly, finished in Asian spices, almost an homage to the Chinese barbecue pork. Classics of Venezia are also represented. A simple crudo of lagoon fish and crab, excellent in conveying place. Simply prepared and dressed in EVOO. The fish, gelatinous and eel like, the crab, very briny like a small shoreline crab would be. Further, a simple seafood soup, its base, the classic Venetian, intensely flavored, gently sweet, goh (goby) broth. Flavored with aquatic herbs and studded with sea snails, sepia and mussels. Tomato adds acidity. Stunning. Extremely friendly Italian service. Very good wine list. Excellent recommendations made by the servers. Unfortunately were not told of a wine pairing for our multicourse meal which would have been preferable to ordering a full bottle and supplementing it with matching glasses. Very fair pricing. 5,7,9 course menus at €95, €110, €140 respectively. Ala carte also available. Lunch and dinner. One month advance Reservation required. Credit card to warranty the reservation at the time of booking. Deserving of the star? Yes but you would be wise to try the basics of Venetian cuisine before experiencing this elevated version. Excellent.

Yelp
A clean small space with wooden beams on the ceiling. Only nine tables. I expected the meal to be interesting because the server's English was only slightly better than my Italian, which is not very good. Two very auspicious beginnings: Fresh, hot rustic bread and olive oil to start with a delicious poached pear in pine nut cream for the amuse bouche. And, the server saw me on my phone and automatically brought me a slip with the WiFi password. This is the first time I have been at any bar or restaurant, anywhere, where I did not first have to ask for it. First course was beef tartare meatballs three ways: truffled, Parmesan and tomato, and beet root and pumpkin. All were delicious but the Parmesan and tomato was sublime. This turned out to be my favorite course. Next, a sardine with a mayonnaise and mustard sauce and stuffed with some sort of tomato compote that I didn't quite catch. I'm not a sardine fan but this was good. For the third course, they presented tripe and puréed beans. The beans were tasty but I only had a couple bites of tripe--something that I have never much cared for. Next, local shrimp with leaks, black pepper, capers, and a sauce I could not understand--maybe apricot? The shrimp were cooked perfectly and it was all a tasty combination. Course number five: an egg custard with mushrooms and black truffles. A very nice mix of subtle flavors. Delicious! This was followed by grilled chicken in broth with a little bit of pasta. It was simple but simply delicious. The chicken and the pasta were good but the broth was outstanding. Unfortunately, I cannot describe why. Perhaps because I typically associate chicken soup with being a bit salty and this was not. Also, it had chives which seemed to add a subtle tang. The seventh course consisted of risotto with almonds, lime, and a cheese I didn't quite catch. I've noticed that risotto in Venice tends to be more firm than creamy. This course was both delicious and a large portion for a tasting menu. Thus, I offer a warning to try to avoid eating a lot of the bread despite it tasting so very good. #8 was pork rib and pork belly with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. Everything was good but not"wow " good. The ninth course was tiramisu. It was excellent. Not too sweet and the espresso flavor came through nicely. Overall, an excellent meal but I would have enjoyed it more without the sardine and tripe. The wines were very good but the pairings would have benefited from more care. Note that the portions are large. It's worth trying all nine courses but you might not want to completely finish all of them. As happens so often in many places, even small ones, the quality of service trailed off towards the end. Especially if I say I don't want coffee, I'd like to see the bill and have my credit card run quickly. It was a tough choice but the fade at the end was the tie break between 4 or 5 stars.

Yelp
After two nights of having pizza in the villages outside of Venice, two of us had our third meal at the 1 star Michelin restaurant not far from St. Mark's Square in a bustling restaurant and souvenir shop area. We had a 7 PM reservation and were seated immediately. There were different tasting menus, but we opted to order à la carte. Items ordered: Gazpacho Guinea hen ravioli Caciucco fish soup with assorted pasta Black spaghetti with sea urchin and candied and sweet peppers Tubetti in a stock of "Go" Filet of sucking pig Pigeon with raviolo, red fruit, and foie gras Cheese board with candied tomatoes Tomato and summer vegetable soup with thyme ice cream Honey and chili pepper ice cream with pistachios, curry cake, and fig sauce Mille Feuille with mascarpone cream and apricot Mint pineapple, grape white chocolate ice cream, and raspberry lemon tartlet Highlights of the meal were the fish soup with assorted pasta, the pumpkin ravioli, and the pigeon. We were intrigued by their use of fruit in different ways in several of the dishes. Most of the time it worked quite well as with the raspberries served with the pigeon along with ravioli and foie gras. The staff was very gracious and service was excellent. This certainly broke the mold of the touristy restaurants we saw all over this area. Il Ridotto stands above the crowd.

Yelp
We decided to treat ourselves with lunch at this Michelin starred restaurant. They have a great lunch deal of three tapas with either fish or meat for €35. The tapas were cod purée with lentils, beef tartare with a cheese crisp, and seared scallop. I wish I could remember all the details of the tapas, including the sauces, but they were all incredibly flavourful and eye-opening. I felt like my taste buds were fully engaged from the first bite. I had the fish, which came with cabbage and beets. The flavours were subtle and expertly balanced. Also, the fish tasted very fresh. I tried my friend's steak, which came with a sweet berry sauce and a savoury one. It was wonderful, but we both felt the fish was better. Our servers were friendly and very attentive. The dishes and bread trays were brought out at a good pace. It was a lovely, leisurely meal. I recommend this place if you're in the quieter parts of Venice!

Katherine H.

Yelp
Our best overall meal in Venice! The wines and food were all incredibly tasty and creative - with lots of little extras sent out by the kitchen. Super tasty. And well worth the price!

Yelp
KenScale: 8.5/10 I've heard numerous words about Venice before visiting the city as an overrated place crowded with tourists. Well, I wouldn't say it wasn't worth a visit. Navigating the Grand Canal for a day, whether on foot or on a ferry or gondola, is a nice experience to cross off your checklist in your lifetime, and the sunset view of the city from the edge of Punta della Dogana was quite memorable, especially with my girlfriend. On the other hand, we were already running out of things to see on day 2 and I was glad we stayed only one night. Just like in numerous other tourist traps in the world, Venice is not a gastronomic heaven, and I was struggling to come up with a place to visit when I first planned my Venice trip. Good thing that I got the lone selection in Venice right; Il Ridotto, a seafood-centric restaurant, was quite outstanding. I was initially more drawn to the photo of the dining space that seemed like a pretty romantic place to dine with my girlfriend; fortunately, the restaurant is much more than the intimate décor. You can either choose a pre-selected five-course tasting menu consisting of seafood only or a mix of seafood and meat or go a la carte at Il Ridotto. Considering the hefty price of each individual dish, the tasting menu, at 85 euros per person, definitely is a better choice. We both ordered the seafood only tasting menu (after all, we're on the sea). The meal started with delicious sardines sandwich with ricotta cheese and candied capers that immediately sent a message that the kitchen knows what it's doing. Then came expertly roasted Pilgrim scallops accompanied by carrot puree. The texture of the scallops was outstanding, and I really appreciated the refined flavor of the overall dish that wasn't overpowering at all but allowed the scallops to shine in their roasted form. The fish soup with different types of pasta and green lemon was another impressive dish in its aromatic flavor that I very much enjoyed for its soothing quality, even more so after a windy stroll around Venice. The best savory dish of the night, however, was clearly the sea bass accompanied by sweet peppers and garlic sauce. The fish was more or less perfectly cooked and again I was very delighted that the seasoning was restrained to give maximal effect to the texture of the sea bass. Sea bass has been one of my go-to touches for seafood entrees when I visit a restaurant, but at that point I struggled to remember a better sea bass dish than the one that Il Ridotto put together. Compared to the savory dishes, the desserts needed a little more work. I wished the kitchen just stuck to the classic tiramisu instead of the "modern" take on it; the flavor didn't quite come together the way it was intended. On the other hand, mille-feuille with mascarpone cream and red wine scented pears was more successful, but not quite memorable enough. The restaurant only accepts reservations via email and you need to provide your credit card information to secure a table. The intimate dining space seating only 9-10 tables was a welcome break from other touristy spots in Venice. Definitely select a bottle of wine (maybe from the Veneto region) to accompany your meal. Il Ridotto was definitely one of the better meals that I've had in Italy, and I was particularly impressed with the elegant subtleness of the dishes without fussiness; if you're looking for a high-quality romantic dinner in Venice, I highly recommend considering Il Ridotto.

Yelp
ALC Tasting: Housemade Crackers, Grissini, Focaccia and Wheat Bread San Marzano Gazpacho - Ricotta di Bufala, Croutons, Julienne Vegetables and Rosemary Guinea Hen Ravioli with Pumpkin, Mushrooms and Black Truffle Caciucco Fish Soup with different types of Pasta and Green Lemon Tubetti in a Stock of "Go" and Aromatic Herbs Black Spaghetti with Sea Urchins, Candied and Sweet Peppers Fillet of Suckling Pig with Puree of Beans and Raspberry Sauce Pigeon in two firings, Raviolo with its Offal, Red Fruits and Foie Gras Cheese Board with Candied Tomatoes Tomato and Summer Vegetable Soup with Thyme Ice Cream and Aromatic Herbs Mille Feuille with Mascarpone Cream and Apricot Honey and Chili Pepper Ice Cream with Marsala Water Ice, Pistachios, Curry Cake and Fig Sauce Raspberry Lemon Tartlette, Grape White Chocolate Ice Cream, Mint Pineapples The first of several Michelin-Starred restaurants visited in Italy, Il Ridotto at Campo SS. Filippo e Giacomo is as unassuming as it can be in an area where bars, trattoria and cafés abound, the two-roomed twenty-six seater toqued by Gianni Bonaccorsi offering an intimate dining experience complete with luxe-linens, silver and delicate Murano drinking glasses plus a congenial multi-lingual staff. Undoubtedly reservations only despite doubling its size over the past five years, it was just past 19h00 that a party of two was led to a sizable square table located in a room decorated in brick, beige and liquor bottles accented by recessed lighting, the music noteworthy for being well-utilized to soften the sounds of a tight kitchen and other diners without being so loud as to give diners a cause to shout. Featuring a five-course tasting or a la carte options, the latter better for sampling a diversity of plates when dining as a duo or more, it was with several-styles of housemade Bread and Olive Oil that the meal got started, a Gazpacho of San Marzano Tomatoes offered as an introductory gift from the kitchen offering a good idea of the bold flavors to follow as golden croutons complimented Ricotta that was creamy and soft. Opting to focus on pastas and reinterpreted Venetian classics as opposed to simple antipasti such as salads, the meal got underway quickly with Caciucco in a smooth Fish broth imbued with Herbs and acid bathing mixed Noodles, the richness of a second plate featuring Pumpkin Ravioli topped in confit Guinea Hen and Mushrooms plus shaved Black Truffle a beautiful composition that stands out as one of the highlight plates from Venice. Finding the flavor of Tubetti in a Stock of "Go" not far off from the Fish Soup, and thus disappointing in its redundancy, "Black Spaghetti with Sea Urchins, Candied and Sweet Peppers" was a bit of an oversell as the Uni was almost rendered mute when rendered into a sauce the consistency of Egg-yolk, the tilt towards sweetness also a bit unexpected though ultimately more in-place when looking at the constituents of following plates. Not afraid to use fruits in unique ways, a look at the meals of others from years past showing Berries frequently set next to rich Meats, both the crispy-skinned Suckling Pig with vibrant red sauce as well as the whole Pigeon with a funky Ravioli, seared Duck Liver and Raspberries were as colorfully plated as they were interesting, the thick pan-reduction actually more memorable than the Pork itself while the Pigeon was a picture-perfect roast of bronzed skin and a center served essentially raw. Looking at desserts and deciding that nothing short of three would suffice, course four presented several well-aged Cheeses with confit Tomatoes alongside a sweet Summer Vegetable Soup with Thyme Ice Cream lofty aromatics, the follow-up of an Apricot and Mascarpone Mille-Feuille plus Chili Pepper Ice Cream with the flavors of Marsala, Curry and Pistachios lightly sweetened by Figs and Honey both as complex and well-crafted as they were delicious.

Yelp
Generally, I found this to be another highly over rated, and way too expensive restaurant. I believe this was an eater reccomend restaurant, making me question their recommendations. My pasta and pork was blah. Her fish was good. I'd highly suggest other alternatives... as they are all around you in Venice.

Yelp
Horrible, not sure how this place has a Michelin star. The food was nowhere near tasteful. For pre course we got sardines on top of chocolate cake and a fish sandwich..? For first course we received a plate of sardines with cheese- fresh from the can. We had a plate of risotto and the rice was hard and very undercooked. The main course was a huge chicken cutlet. Nowhere near a Michelin star experience, to top it off we were so frustrated with the bad food and lack of AC that we asked for the check before finishing our last course and had to argue with the waitress because she didn't understand how to charge a specific amount on a credit card. We were simply trying to tip them and she refused. Don't waste your time!

Yelp
This place is an absolute gem. Not touristy at all, the food was fantastic, and the staff (especially the chef) where extremely warm and friendly. The level of detail was incredible from the deep colors of the dishes to the very elegant silverware. It's a world-class experience to be able to dine in this place, and I was blown away with my visit.

Greg L.

Yelp
Chef Nicolo is an incredible chef and a really great person, the food was the best we've had on our trip to Italy and the service was extremely friendly.

Adam X.

Yelp
We had a fantastic dinner here. It was not cheap (pre dinner drinks, the seven course menu, the paired local wines were several hundred euros). Just about every course was a delight. Sardines with kiwi. A mussel with caramel. A shrieking eel. (Actually no the eel wasn't one of the famous shrieking eels, but it was the largest eel I've ever had.). We were warned that dinner would take three hours: it was more like 4, but we were having a lovely time. Do order the house vermouth. It's the best white vermouth I've had. We'll be back, hopefully before Michelin notices and gives them a second star.

Yelp
My first time dining at a Michelin star restaurant and I was not disappointed. We had the 5 course menu di maré, and it was absolutely delicious! It was one of those meals you'll find yourself comparing all other meals to for the rest of your life. That's how good it was. Everything was cooked to perfection, plated, and presented beautifully. While the restaurant itself is quite small (about 9 tables or so) there were at least 5 wait staff working the night we had dinner. That being said, the service we received was by far the best I have ever experienced. The entire staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about all items on the menu as well as the perfect wine pairing according to your dinner and palate. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone traveling to Venice, but be sure to make a reservation in advance! We made ours about a month before and we got our preferred time and date. When we arrived, there were people being turned away at the door. This restaurant is definitely not one to miss.

Yelp
As many other restaurants and most landmarks in Venice, this petite restaurant is not easy to find, but don't give up, it is worth the effort. We had the 5 course testing of land and sea, and we looooved it. Call ahead and book a reservation.

Yelp
This is our first time in Venice and our first dinning experience. We enjoyed the restaurant and highly recommend it. The restaurant was small in size with beautiful brick and wood beams. The service was amazing and the staff was very polite. We ordered the fish and meat prefix tasting menu with a bottle of red wine. We were very happy with our experience.

Jessica Y.

Yelp
Went there for lunch and got the lunch tasting menu (~35 euros). It came with 3 tapas and a main entree (fish or meat). The tapas were fantastic. Really interesting and full of flavor. The main entree for me was very well executed but honestly kind of boring. At the end of the day, the value for good food made my meal very worth it and I recommend the place if you want a one michelin star meal at a reasonable cost. The dessert (something like a cannoli) was very delicious. Service was excellent. The young gentleman spoke great English and was very charming.

Yelp
Great service. Food was good, especially the Guinea Hen and Cuttle Fish. Innovative take to classic dishes. Only 9 tables so do reserve your table ahead of time.

Yelp
This was okay but not nearly as good as less expensive restaurants in Venice. Service a bit anxious and unpolished, for a highly rated restaurant surprisingly. Food fairly boring and moderately over cooked and charred. Disappointing for the price.

Yelp
Wonderful blend of modern design in old building . Perfect service - friendly , helpful , exact timing - and the food is exceptional . Best beef tartare ever ! We were 4 people, tasting menu - all loved every course . The food was exciting , yet classic . A magical meal in Venice .

Yelp
Had a wonderful meal here. We didn't do the tasting menu, rather ordered a la carte. Octopus was the best I've had. So soft and flavorful. Also had the black spaghetti which was quite good. Wife had the sea bass and loved it. Tiramisu was rich and creamy, best we've had in Italy. Asked waiter for a nice Amarone and she selected one for $75 vs the the better known ones for $$110-300. That was impressive in its own right. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Highly recommended. The service was impeccable. Tremendous flavorful courses that truly deliver a delightful treat in a tourist driven town. Add a great bottle of wine and this was a lunch experience not to miss in Venice...for those looking for something outside the usual tourist menu.

Yelp
Alright, I'll start in chronological order. I first came at around half past ten for dinner, and while they close at 11:30 they were nice enough to seat me and let me get something to eat. Although, because it was so late I couldn't get a full course. The first time I went, the service was excellent, as expected of a Michelin star restaurant. (One star) In fact, Gianni, who seems to be the boss, gave a very nice recommendation of black pasta. (Excellent presentation on a warm dish/bowl and with good-sized chunks of sea urchin throughout, but more on that later) He was a very amiable person and delivered more samples than I can count. And the samples were just as good, with an amazing appearance and delicious taste in small amounts. Another waiter, by the name, Andrea, a young man with a pair of glasses, was just as friendly. He doesn't take wine orders though, leave that to Gianni, he can help you pair wines. Anyways, I asked for flat water and it was immediately brought in a glass bottle. It was not mentioned that it was mineral water and neither was it mentioned that it cost money, but think about it, it's a Michelin star restaurant. Put 2 and 2 together. Cost: 5 Euros Before food came a free sample. Gianni introduced the small plate as something with green bean purée, anchovies, buffalo mozzarella, and some other things. Either way it was excellent, both in presentation and flavor. The texture of the purée was especially nice. Although, I'm not quite to fond of the salty anchovy. Seriously, it was salty. Bread also came fresh and crispy out of the oven and with some crackers too. Or at least they called them crackers. I thought they were crispy biscuits. If you want, you can ask them for some olive oil and balsamico vinegar. I just dipped mine in the various sauces of the different dishes. As to the food, the black pasta (with sea urchin) is a must, if you like seafood and you're okay with a little sweetness. The presentation was wonderful with the plate being nicely warmed, the pasta centered on the dish. (The dish is like a bowl with the edges flaring out like a plate.) While it may seem like too little for 30 some dollars, that's why you have bread and stuff. It's a Michelin one star restaurant in Venice. Of course it's worth it. The bits of sea urchin were particularly nice and the. Sweet taste went well with the pasta. On to the pasta, I don't know how everyone else likes their pasta but I like mine firm and this was perfect! I'm sure that if you have a different taste and want yours more cooked and softer, you could ask them. The desert was a set of samples, which were, again, amazing. There was mint-scented (and flavored) pineapple. And I can not emphasize how well the mint matched the pineapple. It wasn't overly rich artificial mint. It was a subtle and very relaxing taste that was infused with the pineapple cube. Then there was chocolate truffle with buffalo mozzarella. (I'm not sure if that's what they said, something along those lines.) Anyways, it was a little ball of cheese dipped in chocolate and it was pretty good. The final one was a little tart. (Hazelnut?) it was bit too sweet for me, but otherwise, it was also nice. Now, if this place is so good, why'd I give it a 4 star? Here's why. I returned the second day for lunch and while the food was excellent as expected, and presentation also excellent. Although, I ordered the Only For Lunch set menu (meat) and while the three starters were presented nicely, the main dish had a good amount of water on the side. Perhaps, they forgot to wipe it completely? I might be being too picky, but this is a Michelin star restaurant. Also, when I asked for olive oil, it was brought and poured for us, but some dripped. Again, not a deal breaker, but just something to take note of. Now onto the 2 more serious cons here. We were never given a proper set of eating utensils until we asked. For this price point, and the Michelin star, big problem. I understand that they might have been busy, but I had a used spoon and fork for about 5-10 minutes before I asked and I was given a cloth with new utensils. Now, the most hilarious problem, we asked for bread, olive oil, and balsamico vinegar. Oil and vinegar were brought. Bread was not. 10 minutes later, I asked and Andrea stopped and was like, "Bread? Wait... Where is the bread? Oh! The bread!" Then he rushed off. After another 5 minutes, the bread still wasn't here so I asked and he was like, "Oh!" again. Then he brought it to us with many apologies. The problem with this is obvious so I won't go into a paragraph about why forgetting the bread is bad at this price in a Michelin star restaurant. You just don't do it. Anyways, it was still very worth it, and definitely a must-go if you're in Venice. Seriously, if you're in Venice, you should come here. Great place, with very minor cons, they probably learned from their mistake! I will definitely come again if I'm in Venice again.

Yelp
The food was adequate but cold. The service, non-existent. We felt rushed like cattle. Not a place that I woulkd recommend for a lovely lingering fine dining experience.
