Rinaldi al Quirinale

"If you’re looking for a restaurant that eschews modern trends, where you can enjoy Italian cuisine made from quality ingredients with a focus (although not exclusive) on fish and seafood, and where dishes are simple, reassuringly familiar and prepared according to traditional culinary techniques, then this restaurant behind the Quirinale is definitely for you! There’s also an excellent wine list which includes a combination of rare and well-known labels." - Michelin Inspector

Ok. It’s nearly been a year since my family and I spent New Year’s Eve at this restaurant and I’ve now got over it enough to be able to post a review. There was a €200 per person minimum. The prices of the dishes were frankly outrageous (I’ll give you some pics of the menu so you can judge for yourself, I’ve also included the itemised receipt ). The wine was excellent, the food was average if I disregard the cost. If I factor the cost in then the food was poor. The ambience was… comical. There was a 90s portable stereo on a chair playing Gloria Gaynor on repeat. Whoever this restaurant is for, it doesn’t appear to be tourists/foreigners. And to be fair - why should it be? I don’t know how the restaurant could have communicated this to me, I understand it’s not really something easy to convey. However - I could have spent the money else where, let the restaurant cater to the clientele it wanted to cater to and all of us would most probably have been happier. By all means book this restaurant guys, but be aware of what you’re going into.

We literally walked past this restaurant and spoke with another couple who were going in and they highly recommended it. The best places are usually those you stumble across and the result is you leave feeling like wow what a gem. There are plenty of options to dine in Rome but if you are looking for great seafood, exceptional service in a great atmosphere then we highly recommend you try Rinaldi. Our waiter Sergio and his support staff were fantastic from start to finish. It was truffle season so we had amazing seafood starters and pasta with truffles. This was our first dinner in Rome and we decided it would also be our last dinner in Rome. We reserved a table and requested Sergio be our waiter. It was another great experience and we can't wait to go back. Anthony and Kat

Rinaldi never fails! Still the best seafood restaurant in Rome. Service still light-hearted, funny, warm and professional. Food still fresh, delicious and hearty. Sweet white wine recommendation was perfect for her and I enjoyed it, too. This time we enjoyed the fried oysters, pasta with truffles and shrimp, risotto with cream of scampi and a filet. Bread service with the parmesan wheel and complimentary limoncello and lemon biscotti cookies were nice touches and bookends to a delicious lunch. Until next time... 👍🏼🙏🏼🇮🇹🥂❤️

Amazing service. The food was phenomenal and incredibly fresh. The wine was great as was the lobster salad. we also loved the snapper. I’d recommend this restaurant for an anniversary or special event. I went for my honeymoon and though a bit pricey, it was worth it.

We came for dinner because honestly it was close to our hotel. But we were warmly greeted and had one of the most memorable dining experiences of our trip to Italy. We started with two shrimp appetizers. One was fresh the other prepared in cognac. Both were excellent. The waiter suggested a beautiful slipper lobster for our main, which turned out wonderfully. He also suggested the perfect wine. We really enjoyed both. When our meal ended he brought us a chocolate platter with dark and milk chocolate AND A HAMMER. We used the hammer to break up the chocolate into small bites with our after dinner liquors. What a fun ending to a beautiful meal.

This seems to be famous people's favorite restaurant. According to an online source, it was said that Giorgia Meloni, the current prime minister, is one of the owners of this restaurant (or she comes here frequently?). Totti and his ex-wife, Dybala have been here too. Overall the food is great. Pasta and risotto are delicious. The appetizer that we ordered (a mixed seafood platter) was mediocre. The shrimps and octopus tentacles are tiny little pieces that are either deep fried or marinated with tomato sauce, causing the loss of seafood tastes. In my opinion it doesn't worth 40 euros.

This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend. The best dish was the seafood ravioli with cream of scampi, really flavorful sauce. The cognac sauce on the artichoke dish was flavorful however the rest of the dish left more to be desired. The lobster pasta was just okay, nothing too special. This restaurant is overpriced for what you get in my opinion. The service was decent with some of the servers and not so good with some others. We had to wait around 15 minutes for the check, we gave up and went to the front of the restaurant and paid, you’d think that for a €220 bill they’d bother to bring the check to your table. Definitely not worth it!

Absolutely love this place. The freshest seafood, simply prepared, and simply delicious. Have visited twice for dinner, and both meals were exceptional. Crudo is fantastic, as is the grilled octopus. I literally dream about the tagliarini with spiny lobster - one of the two or three best pasta dishes I've ever had. GF feels the same about the spaghetti with sea urchin. Desserts are very nice as well, particularly the berry tart. A casual, welcoming atmosphere with friendly, helpful service. Cannot wait to return.
