Il Salotto - Atelier Gourmet & Cocktails

We decided to stop for lunch in Rapallo at the last minute so after a little research we settled on Il Salotto. We're so glad we did. The restaurant is beautiful, and the welcome we received was genuinely warm. We decided to have the taster menu and WOW! The chef is genius. He presents his take on traditional local dishes and they were all amazing. My husband and I were discussing our favourite plates at the end of the meal and honestly couldn't narrow it down. The fois gras with truffle, and the rabbit with olives were packed with flavours. And the pasta... I know Italy is the home of pasta but this was the best we've had on our trip. Hubby had the wine pairing and was really excited to try wines that he wouldn't usually opt for that complemented the food perfectly. And I have to mention the service, the gentleman and lady who looked after us were exceptional. We learned about the food and wine of the region and we felt like royalty while we were there. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough!

I’ve only written 3 reviews in Rapallo. For those reading this, PLEASE go to the good ones and NOT the single bad one. DON’T make the same mistake I did. Il Salotto is the best food I’ve had on this coast. Ingredients are fresh (even presented to you prior to cooking). They show off their seafood because they can and they should. It is that fresh and well taken care of. We’ve been here twice (lunch and dinner) because the “town’s best restaurant” was closed. Both times we’ve been here have been the food to talk about for years. Lunch - Calamari, gnocchi and Spagliato. Calamari is grilled to perfection with balance of acid, salt, heat. It literally tastes like I grabbed this out of the ocean and grilled it. Got a lime from who knows where and made this perfection. They try hard by not trying hard at all and showcasing the ingredient for what it is. Drinks are well done. I don’t think this place is overpriced at all and should in-fact charge MORE for the quality and service. Dinner - Half cooked, half raw catch of the day with chanterelle mushrooms and their Michelin recommended dessert crumble cake with cherry. Who thinks of serving raw and grilled (over charcoal) fish in one bite? The texture, smell, and flavor sent me out of this world. Have have HAVE this dish. Dessert is also godly with textures, temperatures, and flavors that DANCE on your tongue. I am scared because next time I visit this area, this place will be too popular to easily visit.

The restaurant and Executive chef Luca Mastromattei and all the amazing staff have given us a wonderful experience in every aspect, from the service, the quality of the food and the attention to detail ,have exceeded our expectations in every way, they are all very attentive, efficient and all work together has a team. The Ligurian menu is more then adequate with a great selection of fish and well priced in this very impressive 4 star hotel ,with 5 Star service-great vibe and all in a beautiful location .

Very professional and elegant service, the was food was skillfully handle and delicious. The atmosphere was relaxing. They have a full bar and for those who care, a selection of tequilas which is unusual for the area.

We had an incredible experience at Il Salotto. The manager Corrado could not have been more professional and his knowledge of matching food and wine was a nice touch. The view from the restaurant is great. Big kudos to the chef also. We will return.

This is a real pearl!!! Really very respectable italian cuisine! absolutely worthy of a michelin recommendation, the michelin guide recommends them and they really deserve it! the cuisine is top notch! the service is impeccable! We want want to come back again and again! :) thank you so much! Nowadays it is difficult to find such a high level of cuisine and such irreproachable service at reasonable prices! 🫶 Absolutely recommend it!

Outstanding and warm service, weekend jazz, and perfection of a food from chef. Absolutely wonderful place that makes dining in Italy an e event in itself. Chef prises seasons and rotates ingredients, whatever is available and best for the season. We loved it all.

what we managed to try is more than just food! these are masterpieces from the chef! thanks to the chef and the administrator for their work, incredibly delicious seafood! it's a pity that it was empty that day, but I hope this place is popular in season! it's luxurious!
