Came here with my girlfriend for an early valentines dinner. & wow did i absolutely love this place! Our server was absolutely amazing and he informed us all on the drinks and food! He was so sweet and his service was absolutely incredible. The drinks did not disappoint with the alcohol, the food was amazing and the atmosphere was beautiful. Big bonus, the owners are two women who are married to one another, and it definitely made us feel more comfortable being there as a lesbian couple. Thankyou for the amazing time! Will be back

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ Il Sogno – Wheaton, IL Top-notch service! The wait staff and runners were incredibly attentive all night, and our server, Rosaria, was fantastic. She knew the menu inside and out, gave excellent recommendations, and we’ll definitely be asking for her the next time we come in. A great surprise—20% off wine bottles on Saturdays—made the evening even better. Everything we ordered was flavorful and beautifully prepared. The only slight disappointment was the temperature of the meatballs, which came out a bit lukewarm, but the flavor was still excellent. The pear & pistachios salad, mushroom tagliatelle, affogato and limoncello gelato were incredibly delicious (huge portions) The atmosphere was fun but a little eclectic—part Italian décor mixed with Christmas knick-knacks and a few elements that felt almost like a Thai diner. Not bad, just a bit confused stylistically. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

This place has has a remarkable presentation, starting before you even walk into the restaurant. Seeing the single door leading to the stairs or elevator which takes you up to the second floor, all picture perfect! Wanting to experience all the different plate options makes locking in just one somewhat difficult. Glad we grabbed two separate choices to share, and the kitchen helped making it so easy to split both plates.

This Italian restaurant was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with so much care. I highly recommend the cacio e pepe — it’s prepared tableside and brought out in an old-school Parmesan cheese wheel, which makes it not only fun to watch but incredibly fresh and rich in flavor. It was hands-down one of the best pasta dishes I’ve ever had. Beyond the food, what truly makes this place special are the people. Rose is an amazing person with a wonderful personality, and her warmth and passion shine through in every detail. You can genuinely feel the love and hard work that she and her mom have put into building this business. The service was welcoming, attentive, and made the entire experience feel personal and authentic. From the atmosphere to the food to the people behind it, this restaurant is something truly special. I can’t wait to come back and recommend it to anyone looking for incredible Italian food and a heartfelt dining experience. I can’t wait to come back with my family me and my gramps loved the place always do and always will go back !

Food was good. We had the Pear e Pistacho salad, which was excellent. Casio e Pepe with garlic lobster also delicious. What was disappointing the staff running down the stairs pass our tables in groups was a bit disruptive. This happened throughout the night. The selection of wine is great if you want a whole bottle but for just one glass the options were limited. My biggest disappointment was the tirramisu. It was frozen in a cup and anything but fresh. I noticed most desserts seemed to be pre-prepped in cups. That's fine at times but I expect that to be a bit more elaborate here for what we spent.

We had the most amazing experience celebrating our son's 10th birthday at Sogno Wheaton ! He had been talking for weeks about wanting the cheese pasta wheel experience — and he was so excited to finally feel “ready for a fancy dinner.” Our server Tiffany took such wonderful care of us from start to finish. Our son loved his kiddie cocktail (so grown up!) and was surprised with a lemon gelato birthday dessert that made his night. The star of the show was absolutely the cacio e pepe, tossed tableside in a massive parmesan wheel — every bite was perfection. My husband and I shared the tiramisu, which Tiffany said was made with love by her mother in law. It was probably the best I ever had, next to my husband's. If you’re looking for incredible food and above-and-beyond service, we can’t recommend Sogno enough.

First time here with my significant other. The food was delicious especially for dessert 🍨 our waiter/server was a young African American male, didn’t catch his name but he was very sweet and kind. We would come here again, wonderful experience . We drove here from East Side Chicago 😇

The service from the wait staff was absolutely exceptional. Friendly, attentive, fast and witty. The cocktails were very well made and balanced. All of our food was great. The baked clams were some of the best I have ever had, the arrancini was very well made and although my pasta was a little too al dente for my taste (it needed about another minute in the boiling water as it was still a little crunchy) the flavor was terrific. We will definitely be back.

I visited Sogno early on a Sunday evening and had a lovely dinner experience. The ambience is perfect for an intimate dinner or date night with warm, moody lighting with beautiful florals cascading from the ceiling both indoors and out. The restaurant was not very crowded when I arrived, but quickly filled up as the evening went on. I started the evening with my usual drink of choice -- an espresso martini -- which was excellent. For dinner, I ordered the Caesar salad and vodka pasta with sausage. Both were delicious, and paired with the complimentary bread and oil, I could only make it through half before I was completely full. Since it was a birthday dinner, the staff surprised me with a complimentary birthday gelato which was a thoughtful touch that made the evening feel extra special! While the restaurant is a bit out of the way for me, I really enjoyed the experience. If I return, I'd love to try dining on the rooftop, which looks beautiful.

Delicious food, romantic atmosphere. With a gorgeous rooftop and a lively atmosphere, Sogno is great for date night or a celebration dinner! The star dish is the cacio e Pepe which is served table side after swirling the hot pasta in a giant Parmesan cheese wheel-- YUM. I topped mine with shrimp which was a great combo.

This place was advertised on TikTok for the rooftop scene. When we walked in, I almost wish we would've stayed downstairs- it's gorgeous! Our server, I think his name was David, was amazing. We went on a Friday night where a bottle of wine was 20% off, so we went with a Pinot Grigio after being able to taste test a few of the other ones we were thinking of. For appetizers, we got the pumpkin ravioli and baked clams. I enjoyed the pumpkin ravioli, the baked clams were good too but nothing to rave about. We decided to go with his recommendations of the Spicy Piggy and the Tagliatelle Funghi, both were great!!!! We had plenty to take home. I'm usually a city restaurant dweller, I'd argue that these prices are a little above average for what you're getting (the reason behind 4 stars), but for the suburbs- I'd definitely return here based on service, atmosphere, and taste.

Incredible first time experience at Il Sogno! The ambiance is just as good as it looks on social media. Vibrant, floral, and sophisticated. Not too busy on a Sunday night but with how nice it was, I could totally see this place filling up fast on a Friday or Saturday night. The service was friendly, attentive, and responsive. Food was incredible!

We came here to celebrate our anniversary and it was outstanding! Excellent, airy ambiance and beautifully decorated, this was a great date spot. I also can tell it would be nice for groups. We ate up on the rooftop and it was so pretty. What really made this experience so great, though, was the service. Our waiter was fantastic, attentive, and quick. So personable!! Everyone at the restaurant was so kind and helpful. It felt like 5 star service. Food and drinks came out so timely. The espresso martini was divine. And every single thing we ordered we loved! Will most definitely be returning. Don't skimp on that limoncello gelato ;)

We have not been here for a while (since covid) because their main dining area is often very loud and crowded. However, the new -covered for the crisp fall day- rooftop dining room is very quiet and beautiful. We arrived as they opened for dinner, and it was to our selves for the first 30 minutes (we were there at 4 pm). We had their limoncello margarita (delicious and generous), Burrata Cleese with fresh tomatoes, short rib lasagna, and steak and mushroom tagliatelle in a cream sauce. Everything was delicious, including the homemade bread that came with the dinner. Now, we're rethinking our priorities to make this a weekly dining experience. Their noodles are all homemade and that's the best lasagna we've ever had!

Rumor has it that when the owners are the chefs -the food is made with extra love. This was so true. I've grown up going to Italy and even so -we had the best meatballs, arancini, and pasta! Jeff stood out as a server with the best personality. All his suggestions were spot on and we could have talked to him all night. Thanks for a Great night!!! Ps. Place is beautiful!

Food was delicious and we ate on the roof top with friends it was a perfect night. My husband ordered the chicken parmesan and it was delicious and portion was huge. He took some home and had two lunches out of it! We ordered calamari and that was so tender and delicious. Best I ever had! All and all a great experience

Had a wonderful meal here with my wife this past Friday night. Started with grilled calamari and meatballs with polenta, both were great. My wife had the sea bass special and it was amazing- I had the short rib lasagna and OMG was it good. Service was excellent setting us up at the rooftop bar for cocktails while we waited the final check. The views and ambiance of the rooftop dining area made for a romantic atmosphere. Can't wait to go back and try some of the other dishes we saw that looked delicious

I think this is the best Italian food around. Ambiance is romantic and happy. This is a family run business and they live to tell you about it. You can tell their heart is in the business and the food. I've been here many times, and it's always a great experience.

The vibe of this place is really cool. The designs, wallpapers, and art is really pretty and aesthetic. The server was great, but we were a bit confused because 3-4 different servers/busters came up to us during dinner instead of just our main server. All the dishes we ordered were missing a tad of seasoning/spices. The lobster pasta dish was amazing but a some salt or pepper would have been great and none were on the table. For the truffle cream and hanger steak pasta, there was no distinct taste of the truffle like the previous times we ordered this dish. The truffle taste was very faint. For the chicken parm, the chicken was amazing and the portion was huge but again the pasta tasted like straight tomato sauce and no hint of oregano or something a bit more. It was still great food and amazing portion sizes but missing those distinct flavors that are usually there when we go. For the dessert, I would not get the tiramisu. It was mainly whipped cream. However the ferrero rocher dessert was phenomenal. I would highly recommend that dessert for any chocolate lovers or anyone who loves ferrero rocher.

I recently dined here with friends and had an enjoyable experience. The restaurant is beautiful - I can't wait to come here in warmer weather and sit outside. Very classy, cute, and fun. Our friend had been to the restaurant previously for a bridal shower which seems so perfect. All the wait staff was wonderful, we were well taken care of by multiple people. The only exception to this is that I had a beverage and the rest of the table split a bottle of wine. When I was ready for my next drink, I had to wait until our entrees arrived because there were only food runners that visited our table. Minor detail but hopefully next time it'll be better. The food was delicious! The appetizers are a bit small so for a group of people you'll need a few. But the flavors were all wonderful! The tiramisu was exceptional and a great way to end our meal.

The restaurant was very beautiful inside. Bread was really good and our server was very sweet. We had a, Caesar salad and the fettuccine with steak and mushrooms. Caesar salad was good but the pasta was a little too rich. Overall, it was a nice atmosphere and the food was pretty good.

One of the best places in downtown Wheaton. They are so good with making tweaks on their menu. I love the paccheri and the spicy piggy. Obviously it's popular so seating might take a while even with a reservation. The drink selection is on the high end, however it's good quality and well thought out. Sometimes they have discounts on wine which makes the experience nicer, and it's quite clever, because it ultimately makes us spend more. The interior is gorgeous, the rooftop is cozy. The staff is fun & makes the experience even better. It's one of the coolest restaurants in Wheaton. Always a reliable spot for a special occasion.

Our boys absolutely love Sogno's Mac & cheese. It's the real deal. Plenty of penne pasta covered in a gorgeous Parmesan cream sauce. When I say plenty, it is more than most places ever give kids. Hence, if they don't finish it: a parents dream come true ;) No Kraft here. Been awhile since we dined in and need to get back to the rooftop and to their mussels! Great ambiance and super fast getting this ready to go for us as a last minute take home.

A friend recommended this place for good Italian food and the quality is definitely some of the best I've had in the suburbs. Some dishes can get a bit pricy especially the Thursday special pasta. Quality- the meat is very well seasoned and I can tell they spent time making sure it is not rushed. The sauce is also creamy and homemade here too. I like the vodka sauce more than the traditional spaghetti sauce and the pasta is cooked just right. The meat in the special is a small juicy cut of steak cooked a nice medium. It is underneath a thick layer of sauce. Quantity- paying more for quality here. 50 dollars for a dish of pasta is quite a bit. They also didn't tell me the cost before getting it. Atmosphere- it is way too loud and crowded. No room between tables. Service- it takes a while to get any one's attention here.

The first two times we visited were fantastic. The food is always amazing-- no worries ever in that department. Good portions, packed with flavor, just good classic Italian food. On our second visit we were fortunate enough to be paired with a wonderful server who gave the best suggestions and chatted us up the whole time. For the life of me I can't remember his name but he must have been mentioned elsewhere in these reviews because he was fantastic and went above and beyond to recommend us some good f***ing food. However, on our third visit we unfortunately encountered some of the worst service we've ever experienced. Our waitress was uncommonly inattentive. I'm not exaggerating when I say we've had better service at Texas Roadhouse! She seemed out of it, as if high on something. Came to our table 10 minutes after ordering apps to confirm that we had, indeed, ordered apps... and then was rarely seen again. We wanted drinks but she didn't come to our table, so we flagged down a busboy. She served the drinks as if she couldn't be bothered, and then all our dishes from the bread and apps were sitting there on our table while we ate our entrees. The tables are small at this restaurant so it was awkward with all the old dirty dishes. She never looked us in the eye, never asked us if our food was good, never came back to ask us if we wanted refills on our drinks, etc. We thought of ordering dessert but didn't bother because no one came by our table for 30 minutes after our entrees were long gone. We expect to pay good money on our date nights-- apps, entrees, drinks, dessert, the whole deal. But how can we justify that when we have to actively flag down some poor busboy who isn't even assigned to our table and has other things to deal with??? For $200+ a meal, you would expect servers who can at least take your dishes away. I want to go back because the food is so good but our server soured our experience for the meantime.

2nd time here . Drinks at the bar followed by dinner. Ricky our server was fantastic. Great knowledge of wine selection (which is impressive), Cindy the manager made visits to all customers frequent and was so personable. We just got back from 2 weeks in Italy. And this experience made us transcend like we were right back there. Can't wait to go again

This place is amazing. My wife and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary. The food was carefully prepared and absolutely delicious. Everyone I know needs to go here ! The owner and her mother run the place and you can feel how much care they put into the food and experience. Don't miss out.

We had a relatively larger party and had a late dinner (1 hour before close) but the staff were very accommodating. While the restaurant is on the second floor and also has a rooftop which I did not visit, there is an elevator the second floor from the ground floor. This was helpful since we had a few individuals who needed to use the elevator. Given we were the last table, it was relatively quiet. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. The service was on par and very courteous..

Came here twice as I do with most new places I haven't tried. Atmosphere was awesome and great aesthetic. But sadly from there it went down, drinks were awful and unbalanced and the bar tender didn't even know what bitters were used. After this I asked for a certain liquor and he said "we don't have that" and it was right behind him. Wine list by the glass wasn't bad, kind of average, bottle list was pretty much all Napa reds which is weird and kind of boring for an Italian place. Food was good but nothing to write home about or that you can't get at the many many Italian spots around the suburbs. Overall service was very friendly. But best part of the experience is the look of the room. If you're looking for higher end Italian there are many other much better options. But for midrange typical stuff they do well here, just stay away from the cocktails.

Update: This restaurant is a joke. Gave them a call to get the issue resolved and what I got told was that I should've read it on the menu and that I tipped too little. As far as I'm aware, tipping is never mandatory, it's always been optional. Maybe this restaurant has been starving for too long or they don't pay their staff enough that they heavily rely and prey on customers that don't care to read the entire menu. The attitude and the tone of the person (maybe owner) answering the phone was horrendous. It was beyond unprofessional. It makes me wonder how this restaurant is still opened. Do yourself a favor and never go here. There are other countless, far superior Italian restaurants to try. This restaurant thinks they are upscale just because they upcharge for mediocre food. You can see how they feel about their customers by the way they reply to one star reviews. Came here for a valentine's date with my significant other. The food was okay, the mussels weren't the too fresh and the pasta was bland. We reserved a table close to the window or one with a "view". Upon checking in, we were seated in middle of the room even though the restaurant was close to being empty. When the charge on my credit card finally settled, I was surprised to find out they took more than the amount I had tipped. They doubled it. By no means it's a huge amount, but the honesty isn't there. This is theft and it's unacceptable. I can say with certainty that this will be our first and last time here.

Not going to lie that I always wanted to be a part of an Italian family because of the food! Well now I can be!! My husband suggested Italian for an early Valentines Day dinner and he chose the perfect place! I was very impressed. Located on the 2nd floor, Sogno was packed on a Friday night! Filled with a lot of regular young and old, families as well! The wine I usually ordered was not on the menu but the wine suggested was even better! The service was great and energetic. It really feels like you are eating at someone's house! The food was mouthwatering. I am honestly still thinking about it. I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu! Can't wait to go when it's warmer outside to enjoy the rooftop!

Overpriced and the rooftop isn't much to write about. We ordered the salmon with risotto for one of our kiddos and it came out dangerously undercooked. The espresso martini was missing the froth and just had chucks of ice in it, and the tagliatelle tasted stale.

IN LOVE with this restaurant! My boss is from Wheaton and he recommended it to me, and wow... my boyfriend and I were impressed! The food, atmosphere, and service are absolutely incredible! Our waitress was so good that I wish I got her name. She told us that Sogno is family owned by a mother and daughter. She also mentioned that the mother, Nancy, is from Naples. This was definitely apparent in the food. The bread, appetizer, Caesar salad, and pastas were delicious. Pasta cooked to perfection. We ordered the ricotta pasta dish with crumbled Italian sausage, and the lobster ravioli. We wanted to try more than one pasta dish, so sharing and tasting each other's worked out well! Both were amazing. They have a pretty decent drink menu. I had two glasses of wine and the pours were generous. We sat on the rooftop and it was LOVELY! It's so gorgeous and it has a totally different feel than the inside of the restaurant. It's very lively and we enjoyed the breeze and fresh air! The inside is really nice as well, but I think the rooftop is more appealing!

Such a wonderful dinner! Came tonight with our little pup and sat on the rooftop! Vibes and views were great! Food was amazing! Drinks were delicious! Staff were so friendly and wonderful! Jeff is the best! We ordered the lobster pasta and cacio e pepe. Along with arancini and burrata apps and a side of sauce-less meatballs for our pup and everything was delicious! We loved our dinner. We LOVE a place who's dog friendly. And LOVE delicious food. Moving from the city and finding this gem has made our day! We'll be back for sure! I went here for a nice dinner with my fiancé. Sure it is a little expensive, but can you argue with that when the food is great and the ambiance is so nice? It's right in the heart of downtown Wheaton. The service was friendly and informative. It was the nicest little dinner I've had in a long time.

One of the very few places where you can have a great food experience. ! Rose and Her mom, Nancy, will spoil you with delicacies, difficult to find around in the Subs. Their strength is Seafood, but all of their menu is exquisite, like their Hospitality (Rose is second to no one ). Highly recommended for dates, groups, families. 2 Items above all: Cacio & Pepe, served tableside in Half Parmesan wheel; the pasta gets decadently creamy and delicious (ask for extra fresh Black pepper) Linguine & Clams!! A perfect balance of E.V.O.O, garlic, peperoncino (chili pepper) and the Manila Clams.

Wow what a great Italian restaurant ! Perfect place for a date night or celebration! The decor is just great with lots of florals and greenery . The menu is Italian and all tasted delish and fresh . They did have gluten free options, to sub noodles for GF noodles . They had a great selection of cocktails and mocktails . The dessert menu looked great but we were so stuffed to even try dessert ! Please note that there are lots of stairs to get into the restaurant and even more to get to the rooftop seating - but they do have elevators for both . Also not substitutions are costly , I had a sub of risotto instead of salad and it was a 10$ up charge without being told it would be an up charge . Overall loved this place !

Amazing food! Some of the best Italian food I have had in the Chicago area. I would easily place this establishment in my top three restaurants across all food categories. This place is amazing!! It was recommended highly from a friend of mine who is a regular. By far best Italian food I've ever had. I can't see myself eating pasta anywhere else. Cooked perfectly el dente. Risotto was even better... The ladies who run the place are top notch and I havent felt this kind of hospitality in a long time... Being a lifer in the restaurant business this is the kind of place I want to support!!! Rooftop is gorgeous. I honestly cannot wait to go back!! You can taste the love that goes into this place from the moment you walk in!!!

First time here and the food is amazing! Arguably the best Italian food I've ever had. From top to bottom, the wine, appetizers, bread, olive oil, and main dishes were incredible. We ate each others dishes because we had to share the taste. I can't wait to go back and try other items on the menu. The staff is also wonderful. So friendly and accommodating. Tiffany was our server; ask for her. It's all made to order and family owned. Highly recommend.

One of my favorite, authentic local Italian restaurants. With an AMAZING rooftop . Beyond the staff and service alone, my heart feels complete when I leave. My classic, original order of arancini, beet salad, meatballs, to then top it all off with Gnocchi, sausage crumbles and vodka sauce. Simply delicious!

Super big shoutout to Sogno who prepared a most excellent Easter dinner for us before my night shift at CDH. Presentation, taste, flavor, quantity, price, and service all superb. Pork Loin Vesuvio, Sautéed spinach, Marsala mushrooms & onions, Vesuvio mashed au gratin. Oh, small bread loaf and a rich smooth flourless chocolate cake which I had a tinny little taste. Thank you, we will be back for more specially once I add a carb day to my nutrition, I go to have that cake.

You will never find a better restaurant! Service is outstanding and friendly! Food is absolutely delicious! Ambiance is wonderful Just love going there - never been disappointed!

My first time back in 2 years because I think 250 dollars for a family of 4 is ridiculous. My daughter wanted to go for her 15th Birthday so I said let's do it. My wife reserved the upstairs patio and when we got there they said we can't sit there. Then we were seated at the worst table in the restaurant with a party of 10 screaming and laughing in our ears the whole dinner. Again the bill was $250 and I couldn't get the upstairs patio we reserved and people around us ruined the dining experience. Food was average and the clams were terrible. Server was only bright spot of the evening. I will never be back.

This place was fantastic. Excellent service, quality and ambience. The food was great, our waitress Rosie was great. I really enjoyed it. We had calamari, the Coco de Pepe which is made table side, and the linguine clams. Recommend highly. Great meal.

Food is AMAZING! Everything is made from scratch. I would recommend over and over. Ambiance is bubbly and vibrant on Friday and Saturday. Sunday is more mellow and low key.

The place was very nice. You have a choice if you want to go eat inside the restaurant or eat outside. There's a very cool place outside and it's shared by all the restaurants on the street. Service was excellent. Servers were attentive to your needs. The food we ordered were exceptional. And pretty big servings as well. Looks like a family-style to me. One order can be shared by two. I ordered Chicken Marsala and my boyfriend ordered Chicken Piccata. We also ordered an appetizer. We didn't expect the order to be that huge serving. So overall experience was very nice.

Very quaint and genuine Italian restaurant in Wheaton I didn't know. It was a early company holiday lunch since Christmas 2021 falls on a Saturday. Anyways Loved the sides we had. There was a dish that was made of cheese that was very refined and delicious served with meatballs since it was anti pastor. The fried calamari was also delicious. Not too crispy or breaded than some Italian restaurants I had. The clams and linguine was unique and tasty from the pasta that was serve a la dente or to the tooth from Italian to English translation. As for dessert I had from a coworker a recommendation to try the pistachio gelato in which the restaurant has a b2b relationship with a local gelato shop nearby. Was so sweet. Overall I need to make a personal encore dining in .

Food & service was excellent. We sat in the bar area because it wasn't busy. I can't wait to come back this summer and enjoy the rooftop.

The gnocchi was real good the server was definitely right when recommending the crumbled meatball. That was delicious I wish the grill calamari had a dipping sauce. Otherwise it was a pretty decent Italian place

Probably one of the best meals I've had all year! I was dining with a group of four guests. I didn't indulge in an appetizer, but one guest said the beet salad was excellent. Me and another guest were torn between a Cod Risotto special that included a medley of Mediterranean vegetables and olives and the Caccio de PePe which is rolled inside a Parmesan wheel to coat the pasta topped off with black pepper. Well we decided to order one of each and shared. The cod was cooked to perfection and included a beautiful medley of the most complex yet complimentary flavors. The Caccio de Pepe was rich and creamy, I've never ate anything like it. For dessert we shared a Ferraro Roche mousse desert that was rich and decadent. So what was my favorite - well, that's a hard question. I have to give the trophy to the cod with risotto, the flavors were spot on and left me wanting to eat more, although I was pretty full. This is my first visit and I'm pleasantly surprised. The staff is friendly with the right check in cadence. I already booked a reservation for New Year's Eve.

Much better than in years past . Excellent service from mature waitress, Busse's-setup & manager. Elevator opens around the corner from welcome desk & too close to table space annoying folks seated there especially if you're in a wheelchair. Probably unavoidable though to keep it adjacent to the ground floor door.
