This place is great! And if you’re not in the mood for alcohol but want to watch playoff hockey, the bartenders are just as welcoming as anyone could be! They also have an amazing outside area, which you can sit at and also have a stellar view of your sports teams! All the people on the line are super friendly, there is a wave of genuine inclusivity beaming out of this place! Better than the old Boulder location and the downtown Denver locations! Honestly my favorite Ill Pete’s location! 🌯🌮🥗🥤

10 out of 10, atmosphere is great, beautiful views of Sloans Lake. Garage door bar open to patio seating, Colorado’s own burritos and the best margaritas in town. Shouts out to my guys Gavin and Dylan for helping me out with a catering quote for my wedding. Adam bringing that energy behind the glass. Cheers to the crew

Consistently ignores online order pickups. 5 people waiting for 10 minutes and no greeting or any interaction from the staff. Manager looked us all straight in the face and proceeded to ignore us so that he could blame everything on a supposedly late employee. Get your head out your butt and assist your customers! How is this not awkward for you guys???

Okay, this is Illegal Pete’s so it’s ALREADY great! But people who work here, especially Adam and Helena, make this exact spot even better. Had Meow Wolf (!) edition of a vegetarian burrito (a colorful quesadilla) and it was very yum. A variety of indoor seating options with some screens (perfect to watch the Olympics) and outside patio with the mist! Would stop by again when passing by.

Big fat burritos 🌯 and tiny prices. Great service, good food, friendly service and a great view. The only thing was a limited beer selection. That's why 4 stars. Plus there's a bowling alley down stairs.

Delicious! The burritos are massive and I love that they mix all the ingredients together so you get a bit of everything in each bite! Cool atmosphere too

its okay but always slow service, easily the slowest Illegal Petes. veiw of the park from the patio is nice but drinks are expensive and happy hour deals are not good 🤷🏼... no real reason to return.

Update…tried again and they forgot items. Seriously avoid this location. Not worth the money. Double steak is barely a regular serving. The large chip was definitely a small serving in a large bag.

Nope. I will stick to Chipotle. I was always excited to try Illegal Petes and was sorely disappointed. I will not be back.

What a nice experience. Interior is beautiful, staff was very nice and gave generous portions, and food was delicious. I don't usually get barbaquoa but it looked lean so I went for it. And I'm glad I did. It was flavorful, juicy and tender. The burrito was made to order so I got all the flavors I wanted to round out a perfect burrito. Fair price and good food - that equals 5 stars!

On a beautiful false spring day we stopped here to enjoy their outdoor seating which overlooks the park and lake across the street. We ordered 3 dishes and sat down and loved the warm weather and the fine conversation. When you enter this place you order just like you do at Chipotle by choosing items to add to your entree. My spouse ordered a salad with chicken, pinto beans, lettuce, avocado, cheese and other things which suited her taste. At around $11 it looked great and I took a photo. I was less hungry so ordered from the kids menu a bowl with chicken, beans, avocado, cheese and again whatever I wanted which included olives by the way. My daughter ordered a small burrito filled with her choices to suit her taste. These last two orders were around $7 each. The food was great! It was enjoyable and we certainly plan to return to this location again and again. It's not fancy but it's clean and tasty and a fun place to go. You have many choices on their menu and they were fast to put it together and friendly too! If you are in the area it's worth stopping for good food at a reasonable price. It turns out they did not care I was ordering a kids meal for myself. What a delightful place! Anyway I rated it high because it was perfect for us. It's not fancy but it is a pleasant way to spend a reasonable amount on decent food. This place is often busy so that tells you that many others also enjoy coming here for decent food and a nice time.

Cool place for sure. Nice atmosphere. Burrito was okay. I feel like it needed more flavor. (And I added a lot to it.) Queso was really good. Make sure to get that. But burrito wise, just average. Did get the virgin margarita and it was good. Thought it was going to be frozen bc of the app but it wasn't. Which was fine.

I had the ball of pork green chili and the pork that I found in it was very fatty I don't know maybe it was just my bowl II will order something else next time. The menu has a good variety and decent happy hour and really cool free offer for a beer if you buy an entree and show the ticket for the tickety bet you went to or going to

The portions in this bowl didn't even fill 1/2 the tortilla it comes with. Not sure if they are rationing or just getting stingy

My husband and I live in the area and have been looking forward to Golds marketplace filling in. We stopped in for lunch on the weekend but were happy to stumble into breakfast. We pivoted to a breakfast burrito for my husband and a bean/rice/egg/guacamole bowl for myself. We thought the flavors were solid and it was a good burrito. The space is nice to look over paramount park too. We will definitely be stopping in on a semi routine basis.

Illegal Pete's has the very best burritos and all of their food is so good. What I love as well is the support illegal Petes at all locations gives to their community and the people that come from far away as well to do music or comedy. This is a place that ALL people are welcomed at. They also make a great margarita and the price is right for everything here! Crystal and I come to all the locations often and it is our go to Denver place to eat and bring friends!

Delish. I've always been a fan of illegal Pete's and was so excited to see one within walking distance of my house! It did not disappoint, my chicken burrito was chunky and delicious. Second day opening and I was impressed with how quick it was on a busy Friday night. The queso and chips were slightly on the lighter side everything else was great!

I absolutely love Illegal Pete's food and margs, and this location has very helpful and friendly staff! I'll be back :)

First time at Illegal Pete's newest location in Gold's Marketplace in Wheat Ridge. I drive by every day after work. They opened in February 2024. After working today, the time was right. They serve Mission style burritos with various proteins and add-ons. They are quite large. They offer flour or wheat tortillas that is warmed up in a hot press. I opted for grilled chicken, brown rice, guacamole and poblano pesto to add some spice. All wrapped up in foil. You order at the counter and see your food prepared in front of you. I could have a gotten a salad, bowl or 3 tacos for the same price. The guac and pesto were extra. I had pork green chile on the inside. Very good. I added a draft pour of Pabst Blue Ribbon. Inside dining was very airy with padded seats and wood tables. They have a large east facing patio. A few menu items take time to prepare and the staff will bring it to you. So good burrito & Beer for only $23.

UPDATE: Besides the great food, I think the best thing about this location are the people! I love that they have vegan options and their vegan green chili is the best! Thank you kind sir who customized my hand held burrito this morning and was so kind to me, you rock! Highly recommend this location for your next meal or catering needs.

Unfortunately, this is the worst illegal Pete's in the metro area. My fiance and I LOVE Pete's. The workers are the rudest at this location. We brought our ESA dog in just to order because it was 90 degrees outside and we were yelled at at immediately that dogs can only be on the patio. We were not planning on dinning in so we didn't want to go to the patio - just order our food and leave. And we have done this before at other locations SEVERAL times, so not sure why this was an issue here. Overall, employees make this location unenjoyable. Unfortunately it is the closets location to us. Ordering ahead is also pointless because they can never have your food ready on time. We waited 30 minutes for an online order on a weekday.

I am so happy they opened an Illegal Pete's in this part of town! The location is great, and the food is just as tasty as the other locations. The chicken and carnitas with habanero salsa is my go-to, and it did not disappoint. The only downside is that they can be a little slow moving through the lunch rush. However, the food is worth the wait, and there is ample seating room indoors and outdoors to fit your party! Still my favorite burrito place in town!

I remember when Illegal Pete's was good. It is just not this location that is disappointing. I was at the Pearl Street location two weeks ago and same lackluster food as this location. What happened to the flavor? Pete - you should have stuck with no more than five stores. With each new store opening, the whole company gets worse.

The first thing I noticed is on the 4th of July holiday weekend this location did not have an American flag displayed - just a BLM flag and an LGBTQ+ flag. The reason they have the freedom to hang those flags is because of Independence Day. Service was okay - we apparently were there during a shift change but in any case the new bartender completely ignored us and we had to ask the bartender who just got off shift to close us out. Finally, all we got was guacamole and chips and while it was okay there were no additional items like onions, tomatoes or jalapeños in it. Very bland - no spice.

Bland, bland, bland. My husband' "steak" burrito was mostly rice, with little seasoning. My fish taco also bland, not crispy, and as others reported tortilla self-destructed making eating it a mess. Worst of all, my taco came out after 16 minutes... with my husband nearly done with his burrito. No process here to serve people together, which is a problem with their slow, slow, slowest fish tacos in the universe. Go back to frying the fish in oil! We loved the original Illegal Pete's location near Union Station in downtown Denver, new location on 16th St Mall less so, this location not! Three times here with food and experience worse every time. Never eating at ANY Illegal Pete's again.

Lunch/dinner food here is almost as good as downtown and could benefit from better trained staff. Ordering here is horrifically slow; for some reason the same person you start with to ask for a burrito/bowl/nachos, etc. also asks you what else you'd like while pointing to the salsas and toppings even though that's an entirely different "station" and you just have to repeat yourself once you get there. This makes the line not run smoothly at all. The employees don't seem to know what's on the menu even though they try to get you to order ahead which is frustrating 1. Because it isn't that hard and 2. As a patron I had it down in 5 minutes of menu review. Patio is really great, but the misters make all of the tables and chairs under them soaking wet. Fortunately they seem to be on a timer and don't run constantly. Have been here 3 times and have not yet witnessed a bartender I'd feel confident in getting a good drink from. The negative observation is all small stuff in the grand scheme; I'll still come back every weekend for my lunchtime burrito fix because the food is very good, the restaurant is clean, staff making and serving food is bend-over backward friendly and the patio is awesome!

I absolutely love illegal Pete's but damn this location is absolutely beautiful and absolutely lacks the quality service that the other locations have. Food was messed up (they forgot an entire persons order of our group), drinks from the bar took forever to make when we were the only people at the bar ordering. Highly recommend for a lax time with good views. "You get what you get" Now going back for a second drink, witnessed the bartender be blatantly rude to a customer and then still take her slow time to make the drink after rudely responding to the customer. Watched multiple people give up on trying to get drinks after she was rude and they all just went back to their tables. Would have loved a second drink...that's why I left my tab open..took a lifetime for the bartender to get anything done for anyone, by the time she came I just closed out my tab because it had been over fifteen minutes waiting at that point.

Food was good and fresh. Service was excellent, and the music, well that just made my night. Thank you, it's never a bad or regretful decision eating at Illegal Pete's.

Dirty dirty and more dirty tables. Too bad they don't care to keep the place clean. I'd order your food to go.

Do better! I found a piece of wire in my food. It looked a piece of wire like a tool they clean the grill with. Glad I didn't swallow it. I was too tired from a 12 shift and didn't take it to them because it was too packed with a lot of people, and I just gave up and threw the food away. Almost vomited when I found the wire. As for the food, the veggies were bitter, and ruined the whole bowl. Do better. I'm scared to eat anywhere else..I'll make an even better burrito bowl at home! And this review will get a generic automatic response copied and pasted from all the other reviews saying you'll let the staff know, which is a lie, and I call BS and the management overlooks the reviews on here, and will 100% most likely not coach the staff and inspect the tools they use to clean the grills. I can let the health dept know

The food is always amazing but the service is the slowest ever. Walked in to get my pick up order 8 mins after the pick up time and it hadn't even been started. To add insult to injury, the restaurant was empty. You could really improve on your sense of urgency. Didn't get my food until 13 mins after the pick up time.

My boyfriend and I absolutely love coming here. We come atleast once a week. The food is always pretty good. The reason I give this place 2 stars is because of the male bartender that they have. He's been rude since the first time we ordered from him. Today he decided to throw my ID, my debit card and coasters in the counter while being short and irritable. I worked in food service for years so I know a busy employee when I see one, but my bf and I were the only ones at the bar. He made my boyfriend not even want a drink anymore. And my drink was so light on liquor that it tasted like juice and If you know illegal Pete's you know they're usually pretty strong drinks. Just the bartender alone makes us want to stop coming here.

The food is ok but the service is consistently terrible. We've been there 3 times since they opened and they've messed up our order or we've had to wait an insanely long time every time. Hopefully it's just an adjustment as they learn but so far it's a pretty bad.

The queso dip was pretty good but burrito are mediocre, carnitas have a mushy texture and everything is just bland. Would not do again.

This is a great location for Illegal Pete's! The food is fresh and well seasoned and the portions are GREAT! Their happy hour is amazing and you can't find any other happy hour prices like this in the Denver Metro area.

Service was good. Food wasn't impressive at all - not bad just not even as good as chipotle or qdobas. Fish for fish tacos is straight out of the freezer to air fryer and it wasn't very appealing. Ranch is their "white sauce" for fish tacos. Yuck. Atmosphere was very loud.

Drove across town to go to this location because everything is closed. Walk into the store, dude tells me they're closed. 30 minutes before. Turned away at least 2 customers in the short moment I was there. Was really excited to try the food but I guess dude bros wanted to go home instead. How convenient

I ordered a catering order for a business meeting with 25 people and they never showed up or called to tell me they couldn't fill my order. Then when I tried to contact them it kept sending me to a voicemail. This is unacceptable and very unprofessional to conduct a catering business this way. I do not recommend this location to anyone needing reliable catering.

I usually love the Baja Fish Tacos at the location in Denver! I thought I'd try this new location! Terrible the battered fried fish was weird. We asked and they told us they air fry the fish! No wonder the batter was not a golden brown! Yuck get back to basics please and fry in oil! Even the corn tortillas didn't hold its own but disintegrated!
