Illegal Pete's - South Broadway

COLD, RAW, UNDERCOOKED. I ordered the “giant chocolate chip cookie” “made fresh daily” and got a normal sized completely raw and frozen goop. I ordered online and waited 30 minutes to get salmonella. Parking is a nightmare here.

First trying trying Illegal Pete’s, and it was awesome! The staff were friendly, great DJ and music, plenty of seating inside and on the patio, and great drinks and food! The Apple Izze was nice and cold and the 3 steak BYO tacos I ordered was very good too. Overall, I liked it, a great must-stop Mexican restaurant in Denver!

The food is great as always!! (Taquitos are YUM!) Brandon brings the extra energy and life to the already fun atmosphere!! Dancing his way up and down the line! The whole place has a great vibe with great people!

I have not been to any other than the South Broadway location since it is literally a stones throw from where I live, however, the staff here is always just so sweet, kind, cheerful and accommodating. The food is super yummy also but I really love the energy and vibration of the entire staff….really. This is why I come here sometimes multiple times in a week. They make me smile, and I appreciate them !!!

Tastier than Chipotle with higher quality than Qdoba. Illegal Pete’s is THE spot and has a super chill atmosphere. If you sub out dairy you get guac for free to go along with free chips. Try the ranch!

UPDATE- I’m revising my initial review to reflect the apparent termination of Christian who was the heart and soul of the Broadway Illegal Pete’s. As indicated in my initial review (below) he was one of the reasons my wife and I would frequent this location. What a huge loss. I don’t see us returning anytime soon. This place is fantastic. Great food, great margaritas, amazing service. Christian is the best. Love coming here.

Absolutely fantastic experience at this location! I chatted with Kat, the GM, and listening to her describe her passion for her store and her staff was truly inspiring. Everyone was so inviting and had such an electric vibe. We will absolutely be back and can’t wait to spend the summer on the patio with our dog!

This place has taken a turn for the worse. High employee turnover has clearly taken its toll. New management seems to be a significant part of the problem and it reflects in the food and overall atmosphere. It's a real shame to see a once-great place go downhill so quickly. Needless to say, we won't be returning.
