Do the Life Chronicles! That’s beyond awesome! I was mesmerized! I knew that I am just walking or even standing - nonetheless my brain told me that I was going up or down. And it was a nice story/adventure. I especially liked that what I saw felt so real and that it was possible to go closer to the animals or plants I‘ve been looking at…like kneeling down at the eggs and watch the little cuties hatch. Since I‘ve been so fascinated by the whole experience we‘ve been back for the impressionists, since I love Monet and his contemporaries. Well, after the Life Chronicles it was a bit boring to be quite frank and the art design wasn‘t as good. And - compared to Life Chronicles - the whole thing felt a bit sloppy. It was too much talking- I expected more. So it wasn’t worth the price, especially when you know lots about the period. Still - if you want to have a kind of immersive museum visit and meet the artists of this specific period you might enjoy it. It‘s definitely educational.

This was such an amazing experience. My group of 4 adults first experienced the Horizon of Khufu. It’s hard to explain- you just have to experience it. It was so much fun that after a 15 or 20 minute break we decided to do the Life Chronicles Expedition. If I had to compare the two I would say Khufu leaned towards the educational side. If you enjoy learning through the experience I would say you’d love this. I did! Kids, especially the younger ones, might like the Life Chronicles better. You will find yourself looking around in all directions at the plants and animals. (Note: if you’re susceptible to motion sickness take some Dramamine ahead of time) Both experiences take place in the same room. If you go during a really busy time you might hear other people (on other adventures) talking and/or trying to figure out where their kids are. (Which is really crazy because their children have not actually wandered off into a jungle of dinosaurs - the reality is it is just a room!) Some people are not very considerate of others. So if possible pick an “off time” to go. But do go! It’s fantastic!

Google
This is hands down five stars!! We did Horizon of Khufu and it was AWESOME!!! I felt like I was really there. It was really fun and I will definitely be returning when family comes in town. There were very few people there when we went which was perfect. I can see how things may become a little tricky (or annoying lol) if there is a crowd. But I highly recommend!!

Google
We had the absolute BEST time at the Horizon of Khufu: Journey in Ancient Egypt virtual realty exhibition. Words do not adequately describe it. Mind blowing! 🤯 My husband and I CANNOT WAIT to do more VR exhibits here and we are going to invite other friends and family to try it. That was the most fun I've had in ages!

Google
Great experience. This place was hard to locate. We received a virtual mask and assigned an avatar. The experience was different. I did not like how hot it was in the building, nor people walking around and bumping into me. Too many people are located in one area. I'm not sure if they had a different avatar virtual reality. I won't be back it was just a different and new experience.

We stumbled upon Illuminarium in Atlanta and had a great time! Our scheduled time was 2:45, and we wrapped up around 4:05, so it’s about an hour-long adventure once you’re inside. Pro tip: budget 15–20 minutes for the check-in process—it was a bit clunky, but nothing too bad. No need to arrive early; they won’t let you in until your time slot anyway. We did the **Horizon of Khufu** experience, which was super cool and immersive. The visuals and sound effects made us feel like we were exploring ancient Egypt. Overall, a fun and unique way to spend an afternoon.

Google
Pretty cool experience! Great way to spend time doing something fun while waiting for the rain to pass. Only feedback I have is in reference to my experience as a solo visitor; space singles out from groups better. I kept having to stand in one place, waiting for the group of 4 that went before me who were slightly ahead of my experience to finish up with a segment, causing the VR experience to revert to the vanilla guidance view, taking me out of the experience often. Great event for friends, family, and business groups!

Google
Wow, wow ,and wow!!!! This place was truly unbelievable!!! This was a trip for my daughter and I on birthday, Oct 14 2023. I am horrible at filming, but hopefully, from the videos and pictures, you all will capture the energy of this beautiful place. We were in the African Safari room. The place has several different themed rooms that can be purchased. VERY friendly staff, clean restrooms, and not overcrowded. My family truly enjoyed this place!

Yelp
We went to see Horizon of Khufu on a weekday! Our reservation was at noon on Tuesday but upon arriving at 11:45am we asked if we could change it to 12:20pm just to grab a bite to eat. They allowed us to. We had a great time. It was fun and interactive. Great for a date night, family day or just going as friends!

Yelp
I am surprised at the low rated reviews at Illuminarium. I didn't read any before going myself and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Firstly where you park is on the opposite side of where it is. They offer valet that is very inexpensive. The entrance is down the walkway closer to the beltline. I did book online with the time slot I wanted. They scanned my pre-purchase my ticket and had me sign a wavier. This is so if you walk into someone else they aren't liable . After that walked right in, got instructions, setup my avatar, got my vr headset and I was on my way. The whole experience is about 45 minutes I think. You get so lost in it (in a good way). Each staff member I encountered during my time there was pleasant. I would go back for sure with this current experience or the others they plan to bring.

Nina K.

Yelp
Parking is a bit of a hassle but it was an overall great date night spot. Something different, but educational to do.

K B.

Yelp
We kinda just stumbled across this while walking the beltline trail. Soooooo fun! This is great for the whole family, date night, friends, everyone! We enjoyed the Horizon of Khufu: An Immersive VR Expedition to Ancient Egypt experience and it was really cool and informative. Tickets were $43 at the door for adults, but afterward I noticed they are about $10 cheaper if you prepurchase them online. The pricing fluctuates with time of day, and children up to 17, students and military, are a few dollars cheaper than the standard ticket price. While on the website I noticed they also have a NY location so I would be more inclined to check that out for a return visit as it's much closer to home. But the upcoming dinosaur experience at Illuminarium Atl sounds awesome. 8/10

Yelp
This attraction is located just off of the Atlanta Beltline East. There is a commercial parking lot located in the back to park if you are driving. The staff here is very nice and friendly. I visited during the showing of Horizon of Khufu. You can reserve your time online. It was not busy when I was there and I was able to walk right up and purchase my ticket right there on the spot. There is a waiver that you have to fill out to participate. They have complementary lockers available for you to store your items. You do not have to use them though. I kept my phone with me. I just had to put it on airplane mode. The best way to describe this experience is virtual reality using Occulus-like headsets on a large interactive field. It lasts about 40 minutes and had a bit of walking and moving around. You can take a break if you need to. They will just pause it until you come back. Using these headsets takes some trust because you cannot see what is going on around you and have to rely on the staff to be your eyes and ears while you have the headset on. People susceptible to motion sickness and/or have a fear of heights may find some of the attraction's scenes difficult to navigate. As much as I wanted to like this activity. I just could not. About 10 minutes into it, I became very bored. It is more of a cartoon and looks like it is aimed at young children. The graphics were subpar and was more of a distraction than anything. They added a bit of an educational component to the experience and I learned about ancient Egypt, pyramids and burial ceremonies. The staff told me that they planned on expanding their movie library, which I think would be awesome. I think, as it is now, the activity is a bit over priced and has a dull and basic presentation.

Kelsea L.

Yelp
I have no idea why this location has a low rating. Parking is located at the brewery next door ($5 for 3 hrs). It is small and on the beltline so if you are going to a show that is at peak dinner time, come early. There's also valet but that does fill up as well. If you are coming to an early show, DO NOT park in the empty valet area. You will be towed or booted. The staff for the experiences are courteous and guide you through all the regulations. It's a beautiful and informative experience. I'm definitely going to come back for another event!

Philip M.

Yelp
My brother and I treated our Dad to the Egyptian Khufu virtual reality experience at the Illuminarium space. The staff were friendly and efficient. They take time to explain how the virtual reality experience works and the rules for the pathway. The virtual reality headset is comfortable and accommodating for people that wear eyeglasses. The Khufu experience exceeds our expectations and it's educational and fun. The bathroom is spacious and clean and can be accessed by people with mobility issues. Parking is available for $3 per hour in the adjacent brewery area or you can valet park. There is not any free parking. If you park on a side street then you risk having the windows smashed. The venue is walkable to dozens of restaurants and bars so if you paid for parking then invest time to dine at an adjacent restaurant. We recommend Buena Vida tapas which is reviewed separately.

Cosmiclady L.

Yelp
We had such a great time reliving history in real time in VR was. Great experience.

Brionna M.

Yelp
The Illuminarium is (for the time being) Eclipso, and this VR experience is such a treat! We attended an event where the food, the sliders, were good! The staff was very sweet, inviting, and they took these lovely pictures and videos of me/us, and the ambiance is unmatched. You really wouldn't believe that you were in the same room that you walked into! I can't wait to go again.

Tasha B.

Yelp
So they explained to us in detail about an Black Excellence Through Music Event..... Nothing excellent about this. Overpriced night club for Black History Month. They informed us that the event would feature music & a video show on the walls. I didn't see that. I saw games & dancing. There was not a show. No food offered, high prices drinks. I don't recommend this event or this establishment.

Carolina C.

Yelp
I was not expecting to enjoy myself here. A friend and I visited Atlanta and we were so disappointed with the all around experience. However, this place was fun! What a neat experience! We laughed so much, jumped on the asteroids and took so many pics! This is a great place to visit!

Yelp
Didn't really have any expectations because I didn't know what to expect. It almost felt like you were getting ready to get on a ride at an amusement park. You walk in and you scan your ticket and they give you wrist bands to walk through the doors. On the other side is a huge room with about 20 high top tables, a mini bar and a DJ booth. The drinks are expensive of course and we only had the churros to eat. The room is basically protecting images on the walls and floor of outer space. I believe they have different themes on certain nights. The service was great and the DJ played some old school jams. Drinks were ok. After watching the Space projections for about 20min you can walk into the next room. This room is the exact same as the previous room except bigger and no DJ or bar. It's very spacious and simple. Same Space projections on the walls. After you watch that for about maybe 30 minutes, it repeats itself. I honestly feel as though this would be a good place for kids, not adults. This place could be a lot better if they lowered the price and added some kind of interaction with the guests. Maybe a hands on experience or exhibit. It has a lot of potential that hasn't been met yet. Would I go back? Probably not. Sad to say but I honestly felt like we wasted our time. I gained nothing from the experience.

Renee T.

Yelp
Yesterday I had my first virtual reality experience at Illuminarium. We went to the Horizon of Khufu: An Immersive VR Expedition to Ancient Egypt. I didn't know what to expect because this was never on my radar to try. I must say that my friend and I had a great time. As first timers, the staff was friendly and answered all of our questions. I strongly recommend their suggestion of using the restroom before starting the experience because it last for about 45 minutes. The glasses that are used for the experience are comfortable and adjustable. I found the whole thing to be interesting and educational. However, if you have motion sickness or a fear of heights, this immersive experience may be a lot for you. It's still hard to imagine that the experience took place in one large room. I definitely recommend it if you are looking to try something new. Parking is inexpensive. It's about $5 for three hours. The attraction is on the Atlanta Beltline so there are lots of restaurants and bars that you can enjoy once done.

Yelp
Poor Customer Service when it was an error on their end. Unprofessional advisement of error by sending a group email to numerous people similar to the one as this is the third one. Further, if your site placed the comp tickets on the website then they should be honored as they were emailed. The other part of that is you adjusted tickets within the account prior to getting a response. Do not recommend. Their email: This is Sianna, from illuminarium Experience sending an email to let you know that there was a mistake in the ticket sales for our Monday Night Football Event on September 18th, & 25th that allowed you to reserve tickets for the event free of charge. Unfortunately, this event is not free and there is a price associated with these tickets. We apologize deeply for the inconvenience and miscommunication. Moving forward, you have the option of purchasing the tickets for the event at $20 a ticket or we can cancel the reservation for you. How can we assist you with managing your tickets? Thank you, Guest Care Team | Illuminarium Atlanta

Yelp
Took two 7-yr old nephews. It was pretty pricey but they loved it. While it's good for kids, it's actually good for adults too, and a great date activity. Having done both, I think space was a little more interesting (you experience a launch) but they were both pretty cool. Wild had really beautiful images. The best part is it is interactive and fun to let the kids explore and find these. In Wild, your steps create animal prints or ripples in virtual water on the floor..,you're an elephant, a human, a giraffe, you get the idea. The space exhibit had rockets and lasers projected on the floor that entertained kids and adults alike (you could make 'footprints' on the moon). Plus interesting information regarding space exploration and even constellations. It's a looping movie and you can relax and stay as long as the exhibit is open. It's a little chilly so you might need a sweater but a great way to beat the heat! Oh also don't touch the walls :) Parking was pretty easy in the lot next door, use the posted QRs to pay $4 for 3 hours.

Yelp
This was an okay time. There's nothing really to write overly descriptive elite level review about but I'll give it a shot. The location of the illuminarium seemed to be nice. We passed a lot of other very interesting looking spots that we wished we would have stopped at instead, however, we had bought tickets to the k-pop music event at illuminarium. So the illuminarium is more of an area than a specific place. There are various shops , a restaurant, and maybe a deli. I didn't have a chance to go into any of the shops because we were there late and for a specific purpose. Like I said My wife and I were looking for something to do and the K-pop music event at the illuminarium sounded interesting. We do both like k-pop and it's interesting quirks so we figured that it couldn't be too bad. When we got there, the staff made sure to ask us several times if we were aware that this was a kpop event. At first we didn't fully understand why they were so concerned, but after we entered we immediately knew why. Although there was a bar in the middle of one of the huge rooms, there were also very small children and teenagers doing those tiktok dances. The light show there was borderline amazing. I could see how other events would be very interesting and stimulating. However, all they had displayed on the walls were names of various k-pop bands. Although they were very colorful. The music was so so. My wife and I heard better k-pop on the generic TV station available in the hotel room. The DJ was very lackluster, but maybe that was because she wasn't getting any energy whatsoever from the crowd. Crowd. The kids that were dancing might as well not have been dancing to music. But that's how tiktok dances look. The drinks there were super expensive. We bought two drinks and the bill was $34. There was a camera station in the corner with a 360 camera setup, but it took one couple about 20 minutes to finish this session so we opted out. That was all there was to the room. An entrance, and exit, a DJ, a bar in the middle of the room, and the camera station. Camera station. Was it. My wife and I made the best of the situation. We didn't mingle with anyone because the crowd was sparse and we all kept to ourselves. The vibe was definitely off. The music was the only upbeat aspect but everything else was uninteresting. 3 stars because this place has potential but my rating for the k-pop music event specifically would be lower. It was not worth the cost of admission.

Ada S.

Yelp
This was a very cool place, we went to illumarium after dark where it's 21+ only. I wouldn't go back again because it was around $25-$35 (I can't remember exactly) a person and you sit (if your lucky enough to get a spot) and watch a light show that runs for about 30 min and then repeats. There were two rooms with bars at each but they were expensive. Personally I'd rather go to an actual bar where I would spend less money and have the same experience. If you have the money then you should go. Oh also there was a few couples who would not stop making out and that was uncomfortable for us to watch.

Ridhima S.

Yelp
Atlanta, What are your plans for FATHER'S DAY? Discover the wonders of Egypt from Atlanta itself @eclipso_atlanta is your safe bet!! Horizon of Khufu is a completely immersive virtual reality experience, meaning participants don headsets covering their eyes and ears and keep them on for the entire 45 minutes. A guide helps you get set up and explains how the headset works. It's pretty simple: stay within the blue or yellow lines. If you get lost, look for the white beacon of light. Red means stop before you hit a real wall. In addition to the human guides, an animated guide is with you for most of your journey, so you never feel alone. Now for the educational part: the headset transported me back in time 4,500 years to land of the pharaohs. I visited the Great Pyramid of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, wandered through its tunnels, climbed its steps, and learned about its history. As I moved throughout, ducking into tunnels, I often had to remind my claustrophobic self that it was not real Following a giant animated talking cat helped. Tickets https://bit.ly/EclipsoAtlantaTickets Horizon of Khufu tickets are available in 20-minute increments with dynamic pricing starting at around $27 and discounts for groups of four or more. Standard and Valet parking available

Tierra L.

Yelp
My experience overall is fair. The highlight is the food. Each course had 1-3 Options and everything tasted very well. The drinks were great as well. Now the actual viewing experience was a major let down. It's literally two rooms, one smaller and one larger. Each is just a room with overhead projections on the walls of images flying around repeating themselves. Left a lot to be desired. I was wondering where the rest of the experience was. Likely won't return but if I do it would be for the food only

Stephanie D.

Yelp
It's a wonderful experience for kids. I read the reviews of 1 star. So my expectation was not high. I took 9 and 7 year old and they loved it. They got to experience a launch and learned history of the launch. It's very kid friendly with soft. The music is a little on the loud side so if you have a kiddo with sound issues, ear protection might be advised. The staff is kind and knowledgeable. They help the kids get into the "feel" of being in the experience.

Rae J.

Yelp
Wanted to go ahead and share this review so others don't waste the same experience. I was invited to the Monday night football experience -- I got ten friends to come with me, paid for tickets and support. We arrived at 7:15 and had NO WAITER come to our table by 9pm. When we did, she made an excuse saying that there were "more people than they expected". How? We ordered tickets in advance? I totally understand being busy... but she never even stopped by the table, I made eye contact and waved at her several times between 7:15 and 9 before she took our order. She made that excuse, but then still didn't take our order... this was for a surprise birthday event at that! It was embarrassing and I will NEVER return. The light experience is cool, but if we had known the service would be so bad, we wouldn't at least eaten before -- or they should allow you to bring in food from other restaurants. Every other table had food and drinks before we ordered. She seemed to be avoiding us as a big group, but in reality we should have been served first or had our own server! By half time we still didn't have food or drinks, not even water. Weren't offered any sort of compensation, discount or refund for the negligence. In fact -- they made us all pay on one tab and had the nerve to add gratuity... At the end of the night, the sweetest guy, who apparently was a tech person and not even a server, came to help buss the table. He was very personable, the only good personality we interacted with during the night

Yelp
I have left messages on their voice mail and no one returns calls. I am trying to book sessions for an event The calendar seems to end in OCT with no events in Nov or Dec - odd for an event space during a season where families are looking for events while guests are in town. Anyone have any insight?

Richard R.

Yelp
ARE-YOU-KIDDING-ME? Illuminarium Atlanta is currently charging $35 per person to stand in a room of changing images/videos for approx. 40 minutes. On top of that you'll need to pay a small parking fee if you want to park in the lot right outside their doors. Interactive they say? You mean stepping on simulated asteroids that only break apart some of the time? Or simulated footprints on the moon that don't follow your walking pattern to make it believable? Is that what they mean by interactive and immersive? I honestly think I would have preferred going to a zoo that only had a three-legged dog tied to a tree. I seriously can't believe anyone would find this experience exciting. The Nebula Galaxy portion of the SPACE exhibit was the only series of images worthy of any ooo's or aaahhh's. I understand they also have an After Dark event with drinks involved that might make for a good date night, but I can't see how even overpriced alcohol and music will make it more enjoyable here. At least it might help you forget you paid $35 for a theatrical slide show. [ FINAL THOUGHTS ] Maybe, just maybe, some of the other exhibits are better - such as Wild or Wonderland. I certainly hope the graphics are better. There are five themes that play in rotation according to the date, but SPACE just wasn't worth the money IMHO. I'm still SMH in deep & utter disbelief they are charging $35pp for this experience. I paid LESS that $35 total for myself AND my two sons to see Black Panther 2 with popcorn just yesterday! But on a positive note, the large exhibit room didn't feel stuffy or stale at all. Only my wallet felt uncomfortable. If the cost was around $10 or $15, I might just have given this place 4-stars. But at $35pp + parking fees, I truly feel like I should be pressing charges! 2022 / 120

Cindy B.

Yelp
The parking is a scam to get your car booted for $75. The show is overpriced and underwhelming. The food is lackluster and the drinks expensive. The inside is too noisy to have a conversation. Obviously the owners could care less because they put the same canned response to every negative review. Keep walking.

Peggy H.

Yelp
Please save your money and watch a good National Geographic documentary about Africa instead! You'll see more animals, learn more about them, and save a ton of money! When we were there, the sound effects were broken, which they didn't tell us until we were leaving and given discount passes to book a return visit! There was no way we were going to return, even if it was free! Absolutely over-hyped. You'll see the same photos over and over again. The videography is grainy and disappointing. This is just a way to take your money. Go to our wonderful Atlanta Zoo and see these majestic animals in real life!

DeeDee H.

Yelp
Very Disappointed I bought tickets to take my niece, being so excited to go, having experienced the Van Gogh immersive exhibit. Waking Wonderland *pales* in comparison, unfortunately. This 30 minute show is only one large space painted in light for 3 scenes, to tell a spin-off tale of Alice in Wonderland. You can stand in the area 1 and literally see the lit areas for scenes 2 & 3. The video was blurry and the sound, shallow. The deciding vote for me - when my 8yo niece lost interest after about 10 minutes. With tickets at $25 pp, imho, there are plenty of other options around Atlanta for interactive kid-friendly fun.

Lexi R.

Yelp
This was a fun date idea! Definitely a new experience but I feel more could have been done to enhance the experience. It was a space simulation but honestly not an exciting one. I definitely think adding screens to the ceiling would help enhance the outer space experience and add more chairs. Overall I'd definitely say if your looking for you and your partner to looking to get into something and try something new. Its definitively is a vibe

Tamira M.

Yelp
I find it very disturbing that the business would take the time to respond to my post 6 months after my review only to not address any of my concerns, failed to assure me they've made improvements based on feedback, and only to market a new exhibit with a copy paste post. smh

John V.

Yelp
Good virtual reality experience walking through the pyramids. Unfortunately my headset didn't work and by the time they fixed it I was separated from my group, which took away some of the fun. Not for anyone who has ANY fear of heights.

Alicia L.

Yelp
I must admit, I was a little underwhelmed by this experience. My ticket was for 5:00p.m. entry & I arrived about 30 minutes late. The video will loop if you miss any of it. Before you enter the exhibit, you are taken into a room & given an "animated" rundown of what to expect. This presentation lasts about 5 minutes. Once done, you enter the exhibit! For me, there was a WOW factor upon entry. Floor to ceiling images along with vibrating seats make the experience fun. I thought there would be smell added to the list of senses touched during this experience. Sight, sound & touch (more so the ability 2 feel) were all heightened. I saw the WILD exhibit. I think the SPACE exhibit may be better. I am not saying DO NOT visit Illuminarium I'm just saying I expected more. Will I go back? Yes. I have to take my kids!

Shionda F.

Yelp
I went on an adventure to the worlds first Illuminarium yesterday located off the Atlanta belt line . All my senses were activated through cinematic immersion, transporting you to the worlds most extraordinary places & beyond . So I was a little disappointed I wanted to actually enjoy the cafe/cocktail bar as well but they stated that only takes place from Thursday - Saturday after 7pm . Maybe that should read somewhere on the website unless we totally overlooked it . I do believe the price point for the consumer should definitely be more in the $10 range , I do feel it's overpriced . Definitely an experience and Instagram & tik tok worthy . My favorite part of all of this was you could see your footprints as you were walking thru the immersive safari and they would disappear as you walked along . That was most definitely the hi lite of this for me . This was such a unique ,cool, experience.

Sean C.

Yelp
Paid for an LBGT Pride night event. Tonight, Thursday, July 27th , 2023. Got there exactly at 7pm. There was ZERO parking available. I even stayed and tried to battle it out for 45 minutes. Nothing. The parking attendants were of no help either. I absolutely DO NOT recommend this places.

Tiffani W.

Yelp
When i tell you this was probably one of the best things I've done in I don't know when! I loved it! It's like you are there in the wild watching these animals close up. We just sat and watched the different scenes for a good hour. Then we went to the café and had African inspired food and drink. I liked everything except the tandoori chicken, it needed more seasoning. Its right on the beltline so of course we sat outside and people watched as we ate. After we were finished eating, I asked iif we could take a look at the bar that is opened from Thursday to Sunday. Tonight's theme was Tokyo nights and the room was transformed into a bar that looked like it was in city of Tokyo. It's $15 cover charge, separate of the fee for the event. I don't usually do cover changes but this seems totally worth it!! I highly recommend the whole experience!

Kamilah B.

Yelp
We visited the Illuminarium to experience a unique date night and to see what the buzz was about. We were shocked at how immersive and interactive the experience was; from haptic feedback in the floors when you walked around to exhilarating views of natural landscapes like the African Savannah and all of its beautiful animals. The sound quality is beyond any theater experience you can think of and you will find yourself completely entranced by the beauty of the projections. After this unique experience we were able to enjoy the in-house restaurant. We were excited to try dishes inspired by traditional African cuisine and met the executive chef who was kind of enough to share his unique ice cream creation made with every spice used in all of the African-inspired dishes. What an accomplishment because despite having unique ingredients, it tasted great! I would definitely come back just for that! All the food tasted great! Ask for Giovanni, he's the best! The night did not end there, however. After the African Savannah displays, the projection room was updated and we were transported to downtown Japan and enjoyed cocktails and music. All in all, the Illuminarium was a super unique fun time. I look forward to seeing how they continue to use this space to create future immersive experiences to enjoy.

Yelp
This was such a fun experience! I purchased tickets for Illuminarium SPACE After Dark (21+) and had a good time. My expectations were met. Happy I was able to go. Highly recommend. It's perfect for date night :-) Drinks and food available for purchase. Parking is available onsite -- Valet $3 (with proof of ticket) and regular parking $7 Only cons: music wasn't great, it's freezing inside and parking should be free -- the parking lot is fairly small (shared with other establishments).

Yelp
First time experience and expected more for the price . Upon arrival there was minimal parking and valet was FULL. Once inside everything went smooth but the directions weren't too clear. They actually gave out mimosas on Mother's Day to the 21+ with a ticket. But it wasn't until my group thought that we would see more in another room , which we weren't told before that the whole show/experience is in ONE room, so as we went through the doors we realized it was the end! Very disappointing and short lived . The cafe employees were very helpful and accommodating when we went to use our vouchers because we purchased the all inclusive tickets . Also your "souvenir " is a small bag of wildflower seeds . Overall for that experience i would said i should have spent no more than $100 for my group of 4. Instead it was very pricey and i ended up spending $216 for 4 ppl including a child and a senior . Won't be coming back here for a while.

Yelp
The worst experience I've EVER SEEN. This was a scam, not at all as advertised. The screen quality was trash. No interaction with the audience, completely and utterly the Most boring exhibit I've EVER been to. I just threw away $87 (for two people). Several of the guess, including me, requested their money back. I would've had a better experience watching this on the "discovery channel". At least the quality of the picture would have been better; Which coincidentally, I believe I have seen this on the Discovery Channel. It is educational; but, boring and in no way worth the money we spent. Save your money don't bother coming here. All there is to this is, watching a low budget documentary on the walls around the room. At Very low quality.

Yelp
This "experience" was such a waste of my money and time. Me and 3 friends booked for the 10PM show after having a birthday dinner for a friend in the group. We arrived and got wristbands, and were told we had an hour and a half to enjoy the "exhibit." We entered the first room, and after buying some very pricey drinks, we entered the main area. Both rooms are identical in terms of what is projected on the walls. Only difference is the DJ and bar service in the first room. As we walked in the second room, I just felt intense disappointment. The reason I won't truly call this an experience is because there was truly nothing to do. No one spoke to us about what we were seeing, there was no interaction piece or anything, just an overpriced and low quality 30-min video-ish repetition of moving images of the moon and stars. We accepted that this was just not all it was hyped up to be and began to create some fun amongst ourselves just through regular friendly conversation (that would sometimes die down and remind me how boring this "exhibit" actually was). Not more than 35 mins into our visit, an employee comes and rudely tells us we need to leave simply because all the other guests have left (not because they are closed). I chose this place after dinner because of the hours (says online they close at midnight), but we were being rushed out before 11PM! We assumed there must be some confusion, but the employee then proceeds to turn on the lights, immediately ruining the $100 After-Dark experience we tried to enjoy, even for lack of quality presentation and any element of uniqueness. All of this to say, it was a complete waste of my time and there is nothing I couldn't have gained from this place if I had spent my night sitting home in the dark and watching Interstellar (a Christopher Nolan film) with surround sound. Even that would be much more impressive than this $50pp slideshow presentation.

Yelp
Great place ! Professional equipment! Great experience ! Really recommend for family event !

Yelp
I tried out the bar portion of this place and it was beautiful. It was very laid back and you can grab some drinks and watch the lights. It wasn't very crowded and we had made a reservation beforehand. There's a $15 cover typically and the drinks seem to be standard bar prices. It seems to be a cute date spot in my opinion. They have different themes each time so you'll get to try something new each time most likely.

Yelp
Miss Wanda is a Top Notch Bartender. In addition to making excellent drinks, her Customer Service alone is worth the price of admission.

Yelp
Had the opportunity to visit the Illuminarium Atlanta for their Safari Exhibit about a week ago and overall had a good experience. When booking your ticket you are able to arrive during a selected window of time; having this flexibility is nice. Upon arriving you are ushered into a lounge like room where you are presented with with an overall introduction to how the exhibit will work. In addition, you have a small booklet which includes checklists of animals you will see along the way, information about the various ares you will see, and recipes from these regions. From there, you move through a small door into the actual presentation. The overall experience will take ~40 minutes. The presentation was great - music and sounds choreographed with the rotating imagery. One thing I'd expected more of was verbal information and additional guidance. To be clear, this is a self-driven experience - you are responsible for walking around at your own pace and leveraging the booklet for any additional information. Therefore, I'd recommend taking some time at the cafe (within the Illuminarium) to read through the booklet. Also, after the full presentation ends (you will notice that the imagery is on a loop), you exit yourself through a side door (this was not known to us and admittedly we were a bit confused until we asked an employee). Overall, I recommend going as it's a beautiful presentation. Additional guidance throughout would be helpful. I am looking forward to the additional exhibits coming in the future!

Yelp
What was the sense in creating this event space ? This is a waste of time !! I only had the chips and salsa so I can't comment on the food aspect. Drinks were ok.......... Service staff was very pleasant. Ambiance was nice but the acoustics gave me the impression that the floor was gonna drop from underneath me or smoke was gonna come out the walls !!! Nope !!!! Just noise !! Ridiculous!!! Waste of money!! Maybe great for just kids. I must say the DJ was awesome. Her mixes were well on point!! Parking was outrageous !! Wouldn't recommend this place to NO ONE !!

Yelp
Great Adult Deep Space experience for a date night! Live DJ (on occasion), drinks and food. Plus, the whole other room with a fully immersive space experience all around in 3D/4D including surround sound and plenty of comfortable seating throughout. The line for the bars in both rooms are long, but you can still enjoy the experience (audible and visual) while waiting to order your drink.

Yelp
So, my husband brought me here for a date after picking me up from the airport with yellow roses. So sweet! Went to dinner then came here to watch the game and have a few drinks. Once we were seated, no one came to ask for our order and/or if we needed anything until my husband went to the door and asked a question about moving to another room. We had seen multiple tables get help and drinks and their tables cleared.. We even witnessed a couple come in well after us, get waited on and drinks before anyone said anything to us. It wasn't hardly crowded. I think there were about 4 tables in the place including ours. Overall, the drinks are over priced and for the price of admission - the service is piss poor. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone until they've gotten better servers. $20 to just sit and look around isn't worth it.

Yelp
I went to the Atlanta Illuminarium's space show and had a great time. It was magical to feel like I was amongst the stars and planets, and fun to step on the asteroids. The employees were friendly and happy to answer questions. It was loud and there were a lot of energetic children running around, so it's definitely family friendly. Tickets were very overpriced, as well as the gift shop and cafe. The cafe doesn't have any gluten free options. Overall, if you have time and money to spend, I recommend going. It was a nice experience and I'm glad I went.

Yelp
The Illuminarium will soon be coming to a close, if it hasn't already, so this is kind of a moot point. I agree with other reviewers that this is very underwhelming, so I won't repeat that point. It was also completely overpriced. We did the After Dark experience at 8 pm on Saturday night. What I liked is that it wasn't particularly busy, which was great because almost no one was wearing masks. Each ticket came with a "free" drink and we both opted to get a signature cocktail which retailed for about $15. We stayed for one full run of the "show" which was 45 minutes. I suppose we could have hung out longer and seen it again but we hadn't eaten dinner and decided to get something at New Realm instead. It was great to do something "different" and cool that the floors shook. Otherwise, would save my money next time.

Yelp
I had so much fun here. I will say, it's not what I expected walking in, don't think you'll have an immersive experience as you think. I didn't really sit down to see the show because I didn't think it was that entertaining and wasn't really that amusing. However, right before that show room it's a lounge/bar place where it's themed by projectors that's super cool and the atmosphere is amazing. I had so much fun just having a drink and watching people dance and enjoy the night. Very high vibe place, staff very friendly and kind. I recommend it to anyone who hasn't been here and haven't experience it, it's something different.

Yelp
We went for the Winter Wonderland experience. This place was definitely overpriced. The projection technology itself was pretty cool but the experience outside of that was not the best. There wasn't a ton of guidance (didn't know when we could go to the next room, didn't advertise the complimentary hot chocolate) and the first room was relatively small and quick to go through. The main room was an odd shape (instead of a rectangular room, there were angles that made it hard to find a spot where you could see everything). There also was very little seating so we ended up sitting on the floor. The projections were pretty to look at but very slow and underwhelming. Maybe other shows will be better, but the winter wonderland is definitely not worth it.
