I really love Illy coffee, which is why I was excited to try this location on the Beltline. Unfortunately, this café didn’t live up to my expectations. The space is a bit dark and the location feels hidden, definitely nothing like the Atlantic Station location. I ordered a chocolate croissant, and it tasted stale. I thought it was a one-time thing, so I went back a few weeks later, but the same thing happened again.
This time I mentioned it to a staff, who apologized and gave me a fresher croissant. I truly appreciated it, but honestly, I shouldn’t have had to say anything in the first place. The croissants are a bit pricey, and I don’t expect one that’s a couple of days old for the price...
It’s really disappointing because Illy is such a strong coffee brand, but this location is not representing it well at all. Being on the Beltline is a huge opportunity, but this café is easily overlooked. The views are non-existent, facing a parking lot and two tiny spots on the patio facing the Beltline...
Also, please stop reheating food and even bakery items, your customers notice!! The Atlantic Station location is so great, and it’s frustrating to see a great brand like Illy miss the mark here, especially since not everyone is familiar with the brand in the US yet..
