15 Book-To-Movie Adaptations To Get (Very) Excited About In 2025

In US cinemas from October 23, these theatres will screen Remain, the supernatural collaboration between Nicholas Sparks and M Night Shyamalan about a grieving architect whose life is turned upside down by a mysterious woman he meets in Cape Cod, positioning them as the venues for experiencing this long-gestating genre mash-up on the big screen. - Phil de Semlyen

Google
Saw Jaws on IMAX and it was amazing. I reserved seating but there were better open seats and they switched us with no issues.

Tim R.

Google
Great facility. Can't quite get over looking through plexiglass sitting in their most exclusive seats... VIP = you will be watching the movie through a panel of plexiglass. Just not quite best in class but overall a good experience and nice facility.

Alex M.

Google
Wonderful auditorium, great screen, fantastic sound. Everything was clean, none of the seats in my party were uncomfortable, concession was delicious. The only issue was that on a Saturday night, for the latest show, none of the staff seemed happy to have business. Maybe it was just one of those days. No one was unpleasant, but that probably shouldn't be a talking point to set standards to.

James S.

Google
Always a great stop when in Branson! Plenty of shopping, a good restaurant and of course the movie theaters. The IMAX theater could use some updating on the chairs as they are starting to show their age. The staff was great!

Jenn

Google
AVATAR 3 in 3D with VIP seating! Was amazing!

Google
Please please please do NOT buy from this store. They charged my mom $27 for a 4inch disco planter that sells for $7.99 on Amazon.com. My poor elderly mother got robbed. My mom got all the way home and opened her package and the disco ball was cracked and broken. $30 down the drain. Buying cheap stuff from China and marking it up 4x the original price should be illegal. Especially selling to elderly people who don't know the difference. Absolutely disgusting and greedy. If I could, I would make the 3 hour drive to Branson and get my mother's money back.

K L.

Google
Seats are broken and in poor condition. Not comfortable for a 2 hour movie. Recliners don't work well. NOT worth the $100 for 4 people. Wont come back.Glass is cutting off the screen. Don't waste the time or money, go to a Regal.

Shelley W.

Google
Petersens are fabulous as always. Great theater, sound and lighting. Loved seeing Ellen's children on stage. Just a beautiful Christmas gift.

Darcelle P.

Yelp
Told us we didn't need handicap reservations then when we got there they had no seats

Debra R.

Yelp
Just got back from seeing a movie in the IMAX Branson for the first time. Sounds was great, service was great and place was clean. But sitting in the VIP section you would think the seats would be more comfortable. The seats need recovering and more cushion and seem a little worn.

Yelp
Recently saw a Queen concert film (Montreal, 1981) here. Excellent show. Audio and video practically put you in the front row. I'm surprised very few people came. The advertisement said Queen's 1985 Live Aid percentage would also be shown. It wasn't. After the concert film, the lights came up and a "good night, thank you" announcement was broadcast. I emailed this venue Friday night, and now (Wednesday night) I've received no reply. I despise being lied to, and I expect transparency. Do better, Branson IMAX.

Yelp
We always enjoy coming to the theater when we visit Branson. It's always clean and not very busy (at least when we visit it isn't). Maybe we just hit it at the right time. There are some neat little shops just outside the theater if you have to wait before your show starts.

Dan R.

Yelp
Great concessions--- not so much padding in the seats though! ELITE theater not that elite.
google avatar

Bill N Nancy M.

Yelp
Stay at home the place is a joke. Because they are an independent theater they refused to honor the Applebees promotion that if you spent $25 dollars at Applebees you got a free movie ticket to see the movie Top Gun. If you happen to get the right cashier you might get in as we know people who did get their ticket. All said I won't support that facility, businesses or shows any more. Read some of the other reviews, this place isn't a top notch place
google avatar

Amber W.

Yelp
This was okay! I went in thinking it was all imax but saw a movie instead, it was still really good tho. There are some random stores and restaurant in the building as well! Perfect for a rainy day !
google avatar

David B.

Yelp
The facility is clean and plenty of parking available. The mall that it is in has a lot to see and good food too. We ordered tickets online and it was easy to pickup at will call. The theater seats were comfortable and typical imax awesomeness for sight and sound. I'd go again!

Lew S.

Yelp
Audio levels were out of whack. All dialogue, very little of the lush sound design. We watched "Black Adam" and expected the walls to rattle at least a little bit. The upholstery needs to be cleaned. The arm rests are pretty filthy. Really, just a mediocre movie experience.

Yelp
Truly an immersive movie going experience We stopped by twice for two movies in Dec 2018, both in the IMAX auditorium. We actually bought tickets before we even arrived in the area as we wanted to ensure we had seats reserved. This IMAX theater surprisingly has some of the latest technology. The 4K Laser projection is absolutely amazing. It's bright, great color reproduction, deep black level, solid contrast ratio, etc. It puts other theaters to shame. And if that weren't enough, the sound is one of the best I've heard. The sound is loud, but in a good way. The quality of sound is fantastic. The range, highs, lows, rumble in the seats (due to bass) is great. Speaking of seats; that was something the website could have been more clear on. The basic seats are normal leather seats that don't recline. They are way at the bottom, you don't want these. The upgraded ones in middle are the same, except the recline just a bit. These seats technically put you in the middle of the screen. So if it's an IMAX screening and you want to be right in the middle of the screen, those are them. I'd just suggest the middle to upper section of the "premium" seating. However, for a normal non-IMAX movie, they position the image higher for some reason. Well, the reason is so that those in the upper VIP seating are in the coveted center viewing position. Meaning those below are positioned in the lower 1/3 of the screen, or lower, depending on the aspect ratio. Also these seats are somewhat "old school." While it is stadium seating, there is very little leg room. My legs hit the back of the seat in front. And if somebody has to get up or come in, you'll need to move. In other words, for a more modern seating experience, you'll want the VIP seating. More leg room, better seats, and even though it's further from the screen, better viewing. Although this is a large IMAX screen, so probably a moot point. As for concession... unfortunately it's the all-to-common scenario where they just somewhat phone it in. Overpriced and poor tasting popcorn. Why? No idea. In either case, best suggestion is to go for IMAX, VIP if you can. If not, high-level premium seating, in the middle. So that you hopefully don't have to move for anybody.

Jessica C.

Yelp
Had a bad experience at the leather store and pretty much ruined the moment before I even saw the movie. Me and my boyfriend were inside looking at a hat and he tossed a hat at me to look at. The old crow that works there pipes into our conversation talking about how it's a "100 dollar " hat that we're missing with..... googled the hat it's 47 bucks on Amazon maybe on Branson tax it's a 100 lmao
google avatar

Misty D.

Yelp
This place is so much more than a movie theater. We ended up going to their sister theater to see the movies that we were looking for, but this place is worth stopping at even if you're not interested in seeing a movie. There are many shopping vendors inside and some really unique ones. We enjoyed the clock shop and the woodworker towards the back on the right. Lots to look at and see. Lots going on and this is the off season here. The theater employees were very helpful even though they had to send us to the other theater to see what we were looking to see. Also, this is not just a movie theater either, there are live shows here as well.
google avatar

Ritche S.

Yelp
The Imax theater here was really different. A guy announced and welcomed you to the theater before the show started with a microphone. Then after the show he thanked you for coming to the Imax . Really different to what I'm used to .

Yelp
I've never received worse customer service in my life. It's a shame because when I really want to treat myself to one of the few times I've always picked this place, because until just very recently it was the only IMAX that was even close to home. When big time releases, such as the latest Avengers I was going to see, come out theaters usually have themed cups and/or popcorn tins. It's typically $5 more, but I never mind because the cups I'll use in my everyday life because I think they're cool. That extra five bucks doesn't bother me since I know I'm essentially paying for the design on the cup/tin. However, they were trying to force me to buy 2 cups (which had the same design) and single popcorn tin. Now if I wasn't by myself, and the fact that every other time I've been there they'd always sold them individually, I wouldn't have had a problem. With it being $10 more, for a total of $30, why should I pay for a second drink that I don't need? The manager on duty tried to pull some crap about the cups coming in packages of two. If that was true, then why are they in a stack by the standard cups? Again, I realize stuff is expensive in Branson but I won't be taken advantage of by being lied to. When I informed them that I only needed the one drink and popcorn, they then tried to get me to buy the standard theater-labeled bag and cup. The manager wasn't willing to work, or budge, with me in the slightest. So in the end, I got my movie ticket refunded. I'm not even mad about not seeing Avengers, mostly because I'm not going to pay an establishment that doesn't seem to care about their customers.

Yelp
First of all it is probably the best place to see a movie in Branson. Unfortunately. The complex is old and not very well up kept. The restrooms smell so bad of pisss it could burn the nose hair off of a dead man. Popcorn is gross machine looks like it has never been cleaned. The expensive seat malfunction most times. Just all around worE out.

Yelp
This theater has lots going for it! Not only are there movies but also cute shops for souvenirs and/or treats. We saw "Ozarks Legacy & Legend" and enjoyed the show very much! The seats are comfortable in the theater, the sound is fantastic, and the screen BIG! We also tremendously enjoyed the small live-theater presentation of Sanders Family Christmas (Smoke on the Mountain). What a delightful place--not just a movie theater!

Faith P.

Yelp
i had a very disappointing experience. i payed good money for avatar 3D imax experience at 11:30. movie didn't start until 11:50. Then 30 mins into the movie they restart it because it wasn't 3D.

Yelp
Awesome! It's amazing how spoiled I got in Branson when it came to things like the IMAX...we had it great there. Good prices, REAL popped corn (not the half-assed air-popped sh!t we get in LA), comfy seats, and free parking. People from MO, please take advantage of such a good thing!

Yelp
EDIT: I'm editing my review of this theatre and lowering the rating from five to three because I went to see The Dark Knight at midnight on opening night there and had an aggravating time. We got there a couple of hours early and got in line (on the left side). There were about thirty or so people already ahead of us. During the time between us getting there and them letting us in I would guess that at least twenty or thirty additional people showed up and cut in line. In fact, the group at the very front of the line let a good five to ten people in! I was furious. I even started stopping people from getting in front of me and complained to them as well as tried to complain to a worker (who was busy and even walked away from me mid-conversation!). After the movie, I complained to a manager. I forgot about this but right now I am going to email the theatre and see if they can fix this cut-in-line problem for future premieres. -- Original review: Until you've seen a film at Imax you haven't truly experienced film! The surround sound, sheer size (several stories tall!) of the screen and overall experience at an Imax is unrivaled. Their 70mm film projectors pump out the most wondrous and beautiful images you'll ever see on the big screen. In fact, Imax redefines "big screen" and you'll see what I mean when you see it. This particular Imax has several regular theatres that show the typical Hollywood films that play elsewhere. In addition to this, they have their premier Imax theatre that consists of only one screen and I mentioned it entirely in the paragraph above. In this amazing, solitary theatre they play mostly Imax-produced nature and science documentaries that are truly astounding in their visual and audio quality. Occasionally they'll also play the latest Hollywood blockbuster adapted for the immense Imax screen (normal projectors use 35mm film whereas the Imax uses a higher resolution 70mm) and I highly recommend watching them (watching the Lord Of The Rings films at Imax was a revelatory experience!). Also in this complex is at least one restaurant and several shops. I haven't eaten there nor have I shopped so I can't really comment on their quality but it appears to be a neat place to go while you're in Branson. I can definitely attest to the Imax experience and have personally been to three Imax theatres across the country and none have disappointed.

Yelp
We went there and saw the John Denver live tribute show and the Johnny Cash live tribute show. They were both good shows, but the John Denver show was definitely better. The musicians for the John Denver show were amazingly talented. Theatre was very comfortable and cosy. Would love to go see another show at this little theatre.
google avatar

Bree K.

Yelp
The IMAX is a joke! Showing a wide screen movie on a floor to ceiling screen with half of the screen black is NOT IMAX! IMAX is interactive! The seats move, there's surround sound, if they get sprayed in the movie with water, the audience does, too. You can feel the movie! Save the extra $3.50 and watch it regular.
google avatar

Tristan M.

Yelp
Do not see a film here. In the 3 times I have attended a film here the service has been utterly terrible. Of these times the mistake has been on the part of the theatre. It has ended in me being unable to see the film I am trying to see in imax, or unable to see the film I paid for in 3D making it feel like waste to travel to this theatre. The staff at no point made any attempt to correct the problem. Today when we brought the problem to the attention of the general manager, Tanya, rather then try to correct the problem she insulted the intelligence of me and my brother, and wasn't the least bit concerned with my upset mother. When we pointed out that we had experienced problems in the past she became defensive and even more rude. Sacrificing decent service for a bigger screen isn't worth it. See a movie at the local imax or travel to ozark rather then Branson.
google avatar

Deann H.

Yelp
Does not look like usual Imax building but the theater is excellent. Great sound. The only complaint I had was we were seated right in the middle of people when there were many empty rows. I wish there was a way to see what seats were taken when buying the tickets so we could space ourselves out from others. Other than that, great theater.

David K.

Yelp
Very poor customer service, especially problematic with Covid considerations. Double the price for a movie on a screen only moderately larger than a standard movie screen. I know Myself and my family won't ever come back.
google avatar

Bobby H.

Yelp
I was unable to catch any of the live shows (but intend to on my next visit to Branson), however, I did see the "Rocky Mountain Express" and "Grand Canyon" IMAX films. Both were beautifully shot, educational, and entertaining - my first experience in an IMAX. I came back the next day and caught "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" on a "regular" size screen - just fine for me! I did eat at McFarlane's before Mitty. The waitress was helpful in making suggestions, but I went with the Chicken Pot Pie. It arrived quickly and was good; not "yummy" with every bite, but good enough. I'll probably order something else on my next trip. p.s. The second IMAX movie was $5 off with their "bounce back" offer.

Derrick M.

Yelp
Had a blast at the Jurassic Park Motor Pool meetup!!!
google avatar

Helene A.

Yelp
The Opry theater is inside this complex and they do tribute shows to late country singers. The Marty Robbins tribute show, sung by Leroy New with a few songs sung by Ray McKuen was really entertaining. Leroy New is an outstanding guitarist. The base guitarist, Ray, was excellent and he has a great voice too. The pianist could have given Liberace a run for his money. Don't miss this show and here's a tip- if you buy tickets for one of the Opry shows, you will get discounts on the other shows by showing your ticket stubs. Buy your tickets at the box office rather than from a vendor for these discounts.

Tyler The C.

Yelp
Truly the worst place I have ever worked go to Alamo Drafthouse and support a place that is going to treat you well and have not only reasonable ticket prices and concession but treat the employees well and truly care about the films they screen

A L S.

Yelp
We went to see move at the small screens. 3 theaters plus IMAX in one building. The seats are soft and rock. Restrooms were clean. Large variety of concessions to choose from. You can't reserve seats at the 3 regular screens. You can reserve seats to imax movies. Those seats recline. When going to Branson, like to go to this theater. Plenty of parking. Clean. It has some stores in it, as well.
google avatar

Linda M.

Yelp
We loved the IMAX saw tribute to George strait and john Denver if in Branson mo it's a must takeshow
google avatar

Craig J.

Yelp
Wanted to go see a movie here tonight, but we're not necessarily close. We tried to buy tickets online, but the website says my "session has ended" and I cannot buy tickets online. I called the 800 number, the local number on their website, and the other local number in the Branson magazine, with no answer. I even left a message on fb with no response. Quality operation here! Seems from some other reviews my money will be better spent somewhere else. I'll agree, since they clearly don't even want it in the first place.
google avatar

Ann K.

Yelp
Three generations of family went out on the town here in Brandon for the afternoon. Leroy New playing with his two friends at the Marty Robbins tribute was a fun time clapping and singing along with the tunes. The stories of growing up on a farm back east and his grandparents are both touching and hilarious.
google avatar

Janna E.

Yelp
They may have updated their big theater but the rest of the place needs a lot of work. Go to the bathrooms and you'll see. Overall needs a good cleaning. Layers of grime and dust everywhere.
google avatar

Starr B.

Yelp
The Marty Robins review was all worth IT!! Leroy New and Ray McKuen with their piano player who is the best in town was our favorite show after 3 days of entertainment. The years of entertainment experience of the trio will meet all the expectation you have for a live show. Don't miss it.
google avatar

Jonathan W.

Yelp
This idiots use a website that doesn't allow anyone with an apple device to buy tickets ahead of time. Then they won't let your buy tickets over the phone. What kind of two bit bs company alienates half the people in the country from pre buying tickets? Oh, and you can't buy them on fandango.

Randy C.

Yelp
Okay, I love the big screen for the IMAX experience but there are some issues: 1) this is the biggest issue - in order to get as many seats as possible in the theater, there is no walking room once people are seated. Several people got up during the movie and several stumbled over people and one person fell completely into another persons lap. With the steep pitch for each row, it seems dangerous. Seating was nice when installed but a little dated. 2) The popcorn was bad. I don't know where you guys have popcorn from but I love going to movie theaters and this is some of the worst popcorn I have ever tasted at a movie theater. I had a large tub for my family (we normally eat it all and get another tub filled) but it wasn't even half empty when I threw it away after the movie was done. I love the big screen but otherwise I would have rather had a more comfortable experience.
google avatar

Jennifer D.

Yelp
Went to see Jurassic World on the IMAX. Stood in a HOT hallway waiting to be let in to the theater, sat in an ever hotter theater, then the staff come out to tell us how great the IMAX is, but that Jurassic World was not filmed as an IMAX movie so they were just stretching the picture to be 75% of the giant screen. The movie was blurry and grainy- had I known it was not a true IMAX movie I would have saved my time and money!
google avatar

Nadia R.

Yelp
Decided to go out to watch Terminator. Thought we would get a nice IMAX experience. Turned out this was just a regular movie projected on half the IMAX screen. They even add it a point to state that their screen was 20 times larger than a typical screen. Nice young man came and told us where the exits were and how great their screen was over a microphone before the movie started. Sound was very poor and the picture was projected 6 feet too far to the left with 6 feet of blank screen on the right. I'd say only half the screen was used making it an average theater experience. I will not be visiting this so called IMAX again. Concessions were average.
google avatar

Jared W.

Yelp
You should definitely see an IMAX movie I personally think the Under the Sea one was amazing and it's Narrated by Jim Carey which was funny.
google avatar

George H.

Yelp
Ticket prices were good, screen and sound quality were perfect, and the popcorn was delicious. We were visiting the area and had to find something to do since good old Mother Nature decided to rain out our outdoor plans. We are glad we came here to see a movie - it turned the day around and made us forget the lousy weather!

Justin v.

Yelp
Had fun at Dino days and the staff were great! Great theater to watch movies! Would definitely return in the future!
google avatar

Dana W.

Yelp
It's just an IMAX but I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the facility
google avatar

Tim S.

Yelp
We went to Smoke on the Mountain a musical about a family group playing a small country church in 1938 at the Little Opry Theater in the IMAX complex - It was funny and the songs were older hymns and you could sing along if you wanted.
google avatar

K P.

Yelp
Comfortable seating in the other theaters there as well as fantastic experience with the giant IMAX screen. The only problem I have when we go there is that I tend to spend TONS of time shopping! We've eaten several times at McFarland's also. IMAX complex is a really nice way to spend some time, especially when it's too hot or too cold outside.
google avatar

Terry T.

Yelp
Great Little complex with lots to see and do. Cute little shops, ice cream parlor, coffee shop, movie theatre with IMAX and even a Little Opry Theatre which seats about 200, only 5 rows from stage. My favorite part was seeing the Johnny Cash Tribute at the Little Opry Theatre (I do hear that the John Denver is even better) and my worst part was that the restaurant inside called McFarlan's stops serving breakfast at 11 a.m.

M G.

Yelp
Clean theatre, comfortable seats. We saw the Avengers on IMAX while on vacation. No complaints.

Debbie Y.

Yelp
I selected this theatre based on a show time I found on Flixster while vacationing in Branson. When I got to the theatre it was locked up with no signage on the doors. I looked up the phone number and called the theatre. They were closed due to an employee event. The person did not apologize. I will not return to this theatre.

Ivy Y.

Yelp
If I could give a negative 10 I would, my daughter & I drove from Springfield & wanted to have a special day together on this Holiday & my daughter loves going to one of the stores there to pick out plastic animals. I love going to the Seen it on TV store. While we were inside the 'Seen it on TV' store & I was looking at everything my daughter sat on the floor by the two buckets of magnets and was amazed by how neat they were sticking together, I sat down on the floor next to her for a couple minutes as she was showing me how they stuck together. Then I stood up & as I was looking at something else right next to my daughter, the woman cashier working there went straight up to my daughter and scolded her for touching the magnets. The Cashier said to my 5yr old, "Can't you read This sign!? It says Do Not Touch The Magnets!" first of all, my daughter can't read. She's in Head-Start. They're learning sounds of the alphabet currently. And I apologize, but I didn't see the sign. If the Cashier had a problem, she should have consulted me. I'm the adult & her mother. Then she continued to complain we were in the way of people in the store if the store had been crowded. Then she said there's not many people in the store right now but if there was, my daughter & I would be in there way. So basically, the Cashier informed me & my daughter we are scum and not considered or looked at as a customers & in the way of people that are not even there. My daughter is just a little girl, she was sitting there sticking magnets together as I looked around & was considering buying a few because I saw her really enjoying them. After the Cashier scolded her, my daughter felt extremely embarrassed & asked me if we could leave the store.

Kristi B.

Yelp
Normally i would have nothing bad to say about the Imax. For Christmas day my entire family had tickets to see Star Wars. 30 minutes into the movie the sound skipped and didnt match what was going on in the movie. They shut the movie off with promises that ot would just take a few minutes to fix. About 10 minutes later we were told they couldn't get it fixed in time to start it before the next movie began and everyone had to leave and could get refunds or try to get into a later movie...which we were told earlier was a sold out show. Several of the kids in the theater syarted crying and adults were upset. The owner or manager or whoever it was the made the announcement was nowhere to be found. Personally i think good customer service should have been to push back the later shows a bit so everyone that was in the theater could resume the movie but what do I know I've only worked in customer service for 21 years.
