Truly an immersive movie going experience
We stopped by twice for two movies in Dec 2018, both in the IMAX auditorium. We actually bought tickets before we even arrived in the area as we wanted to ensure we had seats reserved.
This IMAX theater surprisingly has some of the latest technology. The 4K Laser projection is absolutely amazing. It's bright, great color reproduction, deep black level, solid contrast ratio, etc. It puts other theaters to shame.
And if that weren't enough, the sound is one of the best I've heard. The sound is loud, but in a good way. The quality of sound is fantastic. The range, highs, lows, rumble in the seats (due to bass) is great.
Speaking of seats; that was something the website could have been more clear on. The basic seats are normal leather seats that don't recline. They are way at the bottom, you don't want these.
The upgraded ones in middle are the same, except the recline just a bit. These seats technically put you in the middle of the screen. So if it's an IMAX screening and you want to be right in the middle of the screen, those are them. I'd just suggest the middle to upper section of the "premium" seating.
However, for a normal non-IMAX movie, they position the image higher for some reason. Well, the reason is so that those in the upper VIP seating are in the coveted center viewing position. Meaning those below are positioned in the lower 1/3 of the screen, or lower, depending on the aspect ratio.
Also these seats are somewhat "old school." While it is stadium seating, there is very little leg room. My legs hit the back of the seat in front. And if somebody has to get up or come in, you'll need to move.
In other words, for a more modern seating experience, you'll want the VIP seating. More leg room, better seats, and even though it's further from the screen, better viewing. Although this is a large IMAX screen, so probably a moot point.
As for concession... unfortunately it's the all-to-common scenario where they just somewhat phone it in. Overpriced and poor tasting popcorn. Why? No idea.
In either case, best suggestion is to go for IMAX, VIP if you can. If not, high-level premium seating, in the middle. So that you hopefully don't have to move for anybody.
