Portland’s Emerging Restaurant Unions and Labor Organizing Efforts | Eater Portland

"Local delivery drivers working out of the Clackamas facility voted to join United Food and Commercial Workers Local 555 to negotiate for higher wages, guaranteed raises, safety standards, and fairly distributed delivery routes (warehouse and other employees at the site are not included in this representation according to NLRB filings)." - Eater Staff

Imperfect Foods Workers Vote to Officially Unionize Clackamas-Based Delivery Drivers | Eater Portland

"At the Imperfect Foods facility in Clackamas, I found that delivery drivers recently voted to unionize and join United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 555; they hope to negotiate for higher wages, guaranteed raises, improved safety standards, and more fairly distributed delivery routes, with the union planning member surveys to solidify bargaining goals. National Labor Relations Board documents state the union will not include warehouse workers and other employees at the Clackamas location. As Imperfect Foods driver Moira McCarthy said in a press release, "The value that delivery drivers have brought to this company, turning it from a niche startup to a household name, can't be overstated." The company, cofounded in 2015 by Ben Simon, Ron Clark, and Benjamin Chesler to salvage grocery items removed from shelves for non-safety-related reasons, started with produce and expanded to include cheese, snacks, and pantry staples; after venture capital funding it now delivers groceries in more than 35 states, and a group of the company’s California drivers unionized in 2021. Imperfect Foods has yet to comment on the recent union vote." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

Castagna is Launching a Whole New Tasting Menu Experience | Eater Portland

"I've noted Imperfect Produce is an important proponent of sustainability, delivering fruits and vegetables that lack supermarket-good-looks at a discount, and since January 2019 it has donated returned, used boxes to the Oregon Food Bank (which previously had to buy all of its own boxes); recently Imperfect Produce reached 20,000 donated boxes." - Alex Frane

Chef Nick Balla Will Attempt to Eliminate Food Waste at New Restaurant | Eater SF

"As a produce purveyor, Imperfect Produce frequently finds itself with surplus goods that can’t be sold — items that, in the right kitchen, could be processed into something delicious and would be a target source of B-grade produce for projects like Duna Kitchen." - Ellen Fort

This place lied because they decided they didn’t want some product they ordered so now I have to take back to Michigan. Trucking companies beware this place will lie and reject the product they ordered even if it’s in perfect condition. Also be careful they will leave your product on a hot dock for hours then tell you that your product isn’t cold enough.

My father in law has been paying for this subscription for my family for the last couple of years. We get weekly boxes. In August this company changed my subscription without my knowledge or consent and began charging us over 50$ a box which is double what it had been previously. After weeks of talking with the staff via email they have refused to return my subscription to what it was previously and there's no option on their site. I never changed my sub, never consented and they won't return it. This company is full of theives and liars and I will be discontinuing my service. I recommend that nobody uses this company.

Google
Sad to report that Even though the company states they charge you the day of delivery they actually are pre charging before they know what items will actually be shipped. Horrible system. Suffice it to say they have a lot to learn. Very dissatisfied. I took a screenshot of their policy and emailed their customer serviced to show them that they were not processing payments as their site says they well they apologized and two weeks later I got my money back still will not use the service I cannot trust someone who will not do what they say it’s unacceptable to charge people for things they don’t even have on order they claim to only charge after they know what they are shipping you couldn’t be further from the truth

The vegetables are often good, but there are many issues with this company, involving poor packing. I would strongly recommend trying out other food delivery services first. The box is a jumble, yet they don't seem to care enough to do it right. We have had bottles open up, spilling all over, even a package of chicken was sliced open - it is just unacceptable. We gave them a chance for a long time, repeatedly reporting issue but it just keeps happening. Look around!

I used to love ordering from Imperfect foods. Everything was affordable and quality. Now everything is way more expensive than buying from the grocery store. When I forget to pick out my items, they give me the worst boxes. I paid over $22 for the box pictured below. So disappointing.

I love this service! The selection is awesome, you can set certain items to “always” or “never” and the customer service is very helpful if there’s any issues. They even recycle their freezer packs, which I love. It’s saved me a lot of time grocery shopping and I love helping the environment. Thank you, imperfect! ❤️❤️❤️

Google
This should be illegal. They charge people 70$ for a box of raw meat thats gone bad because its not kept cold.. mixed with inedible veggies..... You can get the same thing t your grocery store for fresh! Idk why we allow companies like this when stores can give there imperfect food to non profit organizations who can hand out the food to people in the community instead of this company that rips people off to make a profit. Gross.

Consistent communication issues, items missing, delivery date changes without notice, and no response back from customer service, including after requesting a subscription cancellation. Go with a different service

Yelp
We have had okay service for some years after their merger with Misfits, but we had a delivery problem and "customer service" was not helpful at all. You can interact only with their AI and then get sent emails that read like form letters.

Yelp
I can't get into my account, can't update my order. I keep getting an email that says an order with automatically be shipped. When I try to login, I get a message saying no such account exists for my email. I've left messages and have received no response. I can't cancel unless I login and I can't login to my account. It's a catch-22!

Yelp
Update on my review, I did receive a couple of emails from the company I did receive a credit and an apology for the confusion which I appreciate. A comment was made from the company that they would review the statements I sent to see what they could do to prevent this from happening to others in the future. I did include in my email screenshots of their webpage to show them what I read explaining what they said their policies were on billing because clearly at this time they do not maintain their Internet suggested policies they have separate policies they are using not in line with their statements. I did share that I do love their concept and I hope that they get things fixed.

Yelp
Is this now 'Imperfect Foods'? formerly Imperfect produce? Imperfect foods great website easy ordering great delivery emails responded to quickly cons limited choice of fresh fruit and vegetables too many imperfect vegetables I did use the service about 2x a month for 6 months but the prices didnt justify continuing with it. they dont recycle boxes in my area, as of 2021.

Yelp
Since Imperfect Produce joined another company, the website is so complicated it's nearly impossible to use, the email and password I've used since joining years ago is no longer recognized. Last week they packed a box for me, I tried to stop it, but it came anyway, I tried to call the only phone number I could find, but the mechanical void said the number was not valid. I will not authorize a charge on my account for any box whose contents I can't select. My advice: stay away from this user unfriendly company.
