Revered for its rich and multicultural faculty & great inventions. Was impressed to know that the Elizabeth line was designed and constructed by a Nigerian Professor at this institution - Dr. Popoola. Their laboratories are breathtaking, libraries, open brainstorming areas and the beautiful scenery makes it a great place to visit and even study.

Fantastic place to study. Our son got admission and he is enjoying it. Very knowledgeable teachers and very good study environment. It is an honour and pride to be part of such a prestigious institution. Thank you Imperial for accepting our kid.

Imperial College London is undoubtedly one of the most esteemed educational institutions in the world. Its modern architecture and prime location at the heart of London make it an ideal setting for students to pursue their academic goals. The energy and vibrancy of this world-class college is truly inspiring and invigorating, creating an atmosphere that motivates students to achieve their best.

Great campus tour. We were able to go into some buildings and see where students study and rest.

My review is based on facts finding and visiting this university for events. I’m still looking into all the available courses in various universities across UK so don’t study here yet. This top UK university is right in the middle of London city. A lot of facilities appear to be in the need of renovations and upgrades. Professors are fantastic and courses are up to date and quite interesting. Students look happy and proud! Imperial College London was founded by great Prince Albert as a part of Albertopolis Following the success of the 1851 Great Exhibition, Queen Victoria and Prince Albert wanted to invest the proceeds into a completely new brand, world-class educational yet cultural quarter for the arts and science. Named as Albertopolis, the entire area was centred along with the Exhibition Road in South Kensington, the Science Museum, the Natural History Museum, the Royal Albert Hall, the Victoria, and Albert Museum. In 1887, Queen Victoria laid the foundation stone and opened the Imperial Institute but after merging with the several royal colleges, it becomes the Imperial College London. In July 1907, the Imperial Institute and the Royal Colleges were merged and formed the Imperial College London. From its commencement, this university was an important member of the University of London. However, right after 100 years, ICL left the hand of the University of London in 2007. ICL is home to the Parkinson’s and MS Tissue Bank, collection of the “central nervous system tissue samples” donated by people with Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and related issues. Over 1,650 specimens are stored with samples at -80 degrees that are used in research projects at above 100 institutions all across the globe. The Grantham Institute for Climate Change and Environment was founded in 2007. It is one of the six cross-departmental centres majorly focusing on particular societal issues. It was formed with the help of a multi-million pounds donation from the Grantham Foundation for the safety of our environment. It is the largest private funding given to climate change-related research work in the UK. Imperial College London is steeped in history. Besides, it is one of the best universities in the whole UK to study in as it has a huge variety of courses.

just finished my degree here. the 1 star reviews baffle me. yes, it's hard, but that should be known. i was an average student in my course and none of the modules felt overly challenging. when an exam is exceptionally difficult, they do curve the grades. i, nor any of my friends there, have ever felt we were graded unfairly or stretched too far. they were really accommodating with my ADHD - relaxed attendance requirements and mitigating circumstances felt like they were given fairly. i and those i know had comprehensive lecture notes for every module, which made self study really easy. i felt like i had the resources to learn the way i found the most efficient - from home, via reading and problem sets, and they didn't punish me for the lack of attendance. socialising isn't difficult here; there are so many societies that there's bound to be one that fits your interest. as long as you show up regularly, you'll become friends with those there. besides, you feel a sense of camaraderie with those in your course. when there's ten of you working on the same problem and you come up with 4 different (incorrect) solutions, you're bonded in a very special way. my brother is at cambridge now and my sister went to oxford before me, and i can say that i would have not enjoyed oxbridge nearly as much as either of the other two. it's scrappier and doesn't have the elitist feeling. all of us have felt the heavy pressure and sense of incompetence. i actually took a leave of absence. but the feeling of accomplishment is real and i have no regrets. 4 stars because huxley didn't have a microwave for my first 2 years. booo

You can't smoke on the campus, clear signs everywhere... Apart from that great place to get food and completely open to the public.

A world class university with excellent research. It is specifically focused on science, technology and medicine. The South Kensington campus is the main one and houses most of the departments and they have various other campuses and hospital spread around London. I'm giving 4 stars because their internal catering called Imperial Catering was and is absolutely awful always giving greasy low quality food. Overall, one of the best technical universities with a rigorous education and research.

This is a fantastic place for people to study . I love modern spaces, the libraries are well located in the city. I love the environment and the students are of very warm. Here comes bias-city. Imperial College is a fantastic place to study, the faculty here are top notch, and the number of societies and amount of activities you can get involved with endless. For a university dedicated to science, technology and medicine, students here are surprisingly gifted in the arts (we've got several orchestras and choirs, as well as the main college orchestra which won the competition for the best University Orchestra in 2008) and sports. Located in South Kensington but with campuses around Hammersmith, Paddington, Chelsea and White City there's loads of things to do, and easy access to the rest of London for nights out. And the campuses themselves look great. Our union has vastly improved, and is cheap (of course) which makes up for the house prices in London. And you get to graduate in the Royal Albert Hall. Bonus. But then, like others here, I would say that!

What can I say the best university in the world??? Well i studied here for 6 years, so i am a teeny bit biased, but i dont think any university can beat it for location. right in the centre of london, with hyde park and kensington gardens as your playgrounds! the museums of south ken are brilliant for an afternoon messing skiving lectures- and are free. If you live in the halls of residence at princes gardens harrods is your local super market (but fear not there is a sainsburys local just opposite incase you dont want to spend ALL your loan on groceries) And the union offers really cheap alcohol- so helping preserve those pennies further :) The sports facilities are fantastic- a great on site gym/pool/basket ball/squash complex (sadly done up after i left :(, but really snazy now). Rugby/football/cricket etc grounds are a bit more of a schlep from campus- but thats to be expected in a city centre uni. Imperials reputation is 1st rate, and geeky as it may sound, it really is inspiring to have your teaching delivered by the 'top names' in their field. Given the current job market, i am sure having the 'ic' name behind you will help. I studied medicine, so cant really comment on the other faculties- other than to say all my friends who studied engineering/ physics/maths/ geology/ chemistry etc have done very well in their careers and most had a great time while at uni. Even though it does have somewhat of an 'academic' reputation the sports clubs/ drama groups/ choirs/orchestras/ and other sociaties are all high achieving and fun. And they seem to cover every interest, no matter how obscure! All round a great place to study:)

Of course I'm going to be biased here :-) I graduated from Imperial College. A prestigious university and an enviable location (although expensive) with the Royal Albert Hall, Science & History Museums and Kensington Gardens close by. Had a great time studying in the Physics department and made life-long friends.

24 hours Library for people whoneed to study . Perfect place to hang out for bug exams or paperworks....

Check out a little hall near the engineering department (i think), as there is a little bouldering wall which makes a great surprise for all of you climbers attending this college.
