Imperial Flavors East

A little piece of the Carribbean in East London. Murals painted on the wall by locally based artist Bamba Hill create a peaceful interior, and we received a warm welcome when we arrived. We ordered a few vegetarian things and were amazed by the spread. Plates heaped with steamed veg, rice and peas, dumplings and plantain were hearty and satisfying. The highlight was the Mac and cheese, thick, rich and infused with a variety of herbs. Loved our visit and will definitely be back

Genuinely the best Jerk Chicken I’ve had in years - fresh and spicy. So hard to find authentic Caribbean food these days, but Imperial Flavours are the real deal. Plus the Macaroni Cheese is sublime. The owner is also lovely and is clearly passionate about what he does; which is cook first class food. This place is like a Caribbean island of deliciousness in the middle of East London!

OMG! Just had the stewed beef with rice and peas for the 2nd time, it was so nice, the food from this place is always delicious, well cooked and the cartons are filled to the brim!! Keep up the good cooking chef and assistant chefs !! UPDATE! Jan 2022: We ordered catering from Imperial for my birthday at very short notice and received confirmation of details and price on the same day which was great. I have to say, Imperial Flavours did not disappoint (they never do!) They provided quality, freshly well cooked food to the minute that all my guests were silent when eating LOL! They catered to guests who only eat gluten free foods which was appreciated as this was a last min change. Portions were massive and we were eating the leftovers for days after which tasted better each day. Thank you very much to the Imperial Flavours Family, we can't rave about you enough! If you're ever in east London, check out this restaurant. I can guarantee you'll be back :))

Me and my boyfriend visit often. The food is incredible and the staff are warm and kind (Rastaman always has a nice chat). The Guinness punch is out of this world and the homemade ginger beer is amazing. Jerk chicken is moist and full of flavour. The goat curry is tender and delicious as is the ox. We always sit in but most of the business seems to be deliveries by the amount of orders going out the door. We don't live in the area so can't get it delivered but we're willing to travel for it!

Food was absolutely lovely, nicely done nicely cooked and everything I would recommend to everyone to go there. The food is fantastic, never had better food in my life. Thank you chef it was amazing!

First of all the flavours that are going to be having a Carribbean carnival on your tongue, no matter what dish you order will provoke a feeding frenzy! The tender stewed or curry meats, with the fluffy rice choices not forgetting the fresh, creamy, sweet, crunchy coleslaw will have your mouth drooling before the cutlery even enters your already hungry anticipating mouth... Oh the authentic home cooked aromas that fill the room after will have you on greedy mode, searching for more! Always order large of everything trust me, later on you'll be happy you did when you're craving more, doing the Irish River dance in front of the microwave awaiting your next serving. I've tried almost everything! Fish, steam veggies, soup, Mac n cheese, goat, oxtail, chicken, plantain (plan-tin!!) & The Guinness punch is a must try. Great portions and you will be full!

AMAZING Food, AMAZING people, the food is always great 👍, we discovered a hidden jem since moving to the area, if only we had discovered it sooner, nonetheless we are happy now to be part of the Imperial Flavours East Family, always happy with the food, always happy with the service always happy with the family, portions are always filling, lip smacking, finger licking 😋 gooooooooooodness Highly recommend for authenticity, quality, quantity and family.
