Masked In-N-Out Employees Will Soon Risk Termination in Five States | Eater LA

"I saw a leaked, company-wide memo reported by the Los Angeles Times that says In-N-Out will ban employees from wearing masks outside California and Oregon starting August 14 unless they produce a medical note; the memo frames the rule as a way to emphasize customer service and to show associates' smiles and other facial features, and warns that failure to comply could result in termination. The chain currently operates in California, Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, and Utah, and the memo was reported alongside a reminder that in 2021 San Francisco officials ordered the city's only In-N-Out to close after it failed to check vaccine cards for indoor diners." - Mona Holmes

Google
This location is too packed regardless what time you went to order. That is same as their next door fast food restaurant chick fil a. Both of these fast food take about the majority of the parking spots. Getting there right off the freeway can be challenging and heavy traffic. When I order the food there is about 40 queues in front of me. That how packed it is and barely have space to wait inside.

Google
I have been dining here for years. In-N-Out is my most favorite fast-food restaurant chain that exists. I like their Strawberry Ice Cream, Double-Double Cheeseburger and Fries and I get it everytime I visit and make trips to eat here. I have been taking my family, friends and cousins here and they love the food and atmosphere here. I enjoy going out with friends and myself to In-N-Out and enjoy the comfort food. Otherwise everything is great. I will always make more trips in the future just to gain pleasure with their food. Other than that, In-N-Out is a great place for me. I love it.

Google
Doesn’t matter what you’ve heard In-n-Out is a staple for fast food burgers 🍔. Get your fries well done and stop crying about the nothing. (Get it Protein style and feel better about yourself) Add some Chili Peppers and spread to everything and Pair it all with a Neapolitan Shake!!! #mutethehaters

Google
Fast, polite, pleasant and professional staff. The food was delicious. If you haven't tried your burger animal style, you should. The burger is grilled in mustard which add depth of flavor. Pickles are one of the toppings. Sooooo yummy!

Google
I'm french and it was my first In-N-Out !!! Best fast food chains in the world !!! Fresh and delicious

Google
The longest wait for in n out I’ve ever experienced. We went during a lunch rush and had like 20 orders in front of us. Also they raised the prices which was a bit unexpected. The food was still quality tho. Top tier fast food dining got a 3x3 and a fry animal style with light onions.

Google
Like many others, this is a busy location even when it is raining. Cars were lined up 10 long. Food is good and solid, as expected from the chain. Since it is so busy you probably will wait for your order especially if you have 3 or more people.

JJ F.

Google
Service was good at the drive thru but the food was terrible. Burger patties were small and burnt. The fries were cold and crunchy. The animal fries were cold. The soda was carbonated but not sweet at all. Its very sad how bad the food has changed over the past few years.

Yelp
Just stopped in for a quick snack. Ordered up some fries light well and they were great and a vanilla milkshake - the Oder was sieved up very fast, fresh and hot. The young lady associate was nice and friendly. The establishment was clean and still busy at 10:15 PM - everything was perfect. Just one problem - should have also gotten a burger - still hungry!!!

Yelp
Went to this location to grab some late night food for my son and I. Of course there's a line at the drive thru but it went by really quick. Ordered a few double doubles, a soda, a milkshake, and a couple orders of fries. One order of fries with no salt. Well, when I got home and we were ready to eat, I realized both orders of fries were salted. My son even had to check for me cause he thought maybe I took the wrong one. I should have known cause normally orders of unsalted fries would be placed in separate bags as they should. And usually this location is pretty good about it. And them always being busy with non stop rushes is not an excuse to not have an order right.

Yelp
In n out is probably the only fast food place I go to and even then, I do not go often enough. Maybe once every few months. I love in n out and wish I could go more often! Even though it is always so busy, the line never takes more than 10-15mins when you go inside. The drive through line is always pretty long though. But I think the workers are working hard. I usually get a double double protein style with cut up chili peppers and onion on it w/ a side of fries. This time I got a double double burger. Its been yaers for me to not get protein style. So delicious just as I remember it. I am a big fan of their fries too. Some say they are not as tasty as others, but I beg to differ. I think it taste fresh! Also, i like the puppy patty option they give. Overall, love the fresh burger. Prices have been going up a bit these past several years, but i still think it is reasonable compared to other burger places. Ambiance is always busy with lots of teenagers, just fyi.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday afternoon and there was a line out the door. We were able to find seats inside though but as we sat down, we noticed that everyone who was sitting was also waiting for their order. It took about 25 minutes for my order to come out and another 5-10 minutes before my friends' orders came out even though they ordered before me. The burger was good but I couldn't finish the strawberry milkshake bc it was way too sweet.
google avatar

Jeff C.

Yelp
This place was hopping at 10pm on a weekday summer evening! The burgers were worth the wait though.
google avatar

Christy T.

Yelp
We love In-N-Out Burger yet we do not come often. Usually sit in is faster than the drive through. However, the drive through line moves very fast. Kudos to the team who is working outside. The fries are always good, ambiance is casual and seats and tables are always clean. We love the fries, especially the animal fries. The cheeseburgers never fail. Will plan to come more often.
google avatar

Yelp
As someone who's moved from Michigan, this was the first place that I had In-N-Out Burger. Great impression! The food came out really fast, the burgers were super fresh and delicious, and the service was great. Everyone is super nice and it was very busy but I was shocked by how fast the food came out. They were really organized. Definitely if you go late at night there is the teenage crowd and it's always busy here. Not really a place to hang out because it's pretty loud but overall everything was really clean too. Not a huge fan of the fries, but the burgers are great!
google avatar

Kevin G.

Yelp
Average location but drive thru is super slow at lunch. As in 20mwait. So if you are able to park I would go inside for faster service. Love the always friendly staff.

Yelp
Being a fast food chain, I usually don't expect much. As long as the food is good, I will be happy. But this location is different. The person at the counter is a bit middle-aged, but he greets everyone with a big smile and always confirms the order before the checkout. Once he asked to cut the burger into half for the kids, I was surprised as I didn't even know such a thing existed. It was way easier for my kids to eat the burger. The clean tables and supplies are always filled when they are running low. And of course, the burger is best as always with juicy meat and the most famous sauce. The French fries are freshly cut, but their crispiness can vary depending on who's manning the fryer. Food: 5

Yelp
This location is decent and the person taking our order was good. You can never go wrong with a double double with whole grilled onions and chopped peppers. This burger was loaded however, I wish my onions were actually "grilled" they were most definitely not grilled enough. (See pic for reference)

Yelp
In-N-Out is a staple in our household--my teen son and husband absolutely love it, and it's often their go-to stop after practices, weekend errands, or just because they're craving those classic burgers and fries. The quality is consistently good, the service is quick, and you can't go wrong with the fresh ingredients and simple menu. The Double-Double Animal Style is a favorite in our family, and the fries (especially when well-done or with cheese) hit the spot. It's comfort food that doesn't feel overly processed, and there's something nostalgic and satisfying about every bite. That said, I do wish they had a chicken option--even just a grilled or crispy chicken patty would be a great addition for those of us who want a break from beef or don't eat red meat. The menu's simplicity is part of its charm, but just one chicken sandwich would go a long way in making it more inclusive for different dietary preferences.

Yelp
I go to this place almost every Monday morning and I always leave very satisfied with the food and customer service

Yelp
Service: Always excellent service from all the hard-working young people at INO. Service was quick and prompt at our last visit. Ambiance: Best quick place to eat, always clean, no matter which location we are at, they do such a great job making sure the bathrooms and store are spotless. Food: My boys had 3 Doubles (#1s) between the two of them, fries, and two shakes, and I had a #2, all of the food came out hot, fresh and tasted delicious. INO for the win!

Yelp
I'm so often impressed with just how fast you these get get through a line of cars. The food was perfect and the service friendly and efficient. Always a good vibe at in and out.

Yelp
Great burgers and great service by Sandy Mack! Super clean inside and out. Very convenient location with large well maintain parking area.

Yelp
I grew up in SoCal going to the first In-N-Out burger located in Baldwin Park. It's amazing how the franchise has expanded to other cities and states. When I moved here (the Bay Area) in 2001 In-N-Out burger had not yet expanded to Northern California. Needless to say I was home sick for family and my double-double with onions, fries and a chocolate shake. Last night I hit up In-N-Out burger as I rolled back into town from the Giants/Dodgers game in the City. I had my usual #1 and it was just as good as always and absorbed my sadness that the Dodgers lost to their rivals.

Yelp
In n out - the best fast food burger chain on the west coast! There's nothing to compare to them. Not even shake shack. Came here today, during lunch and ordered a couple burgers (protein style) and a couple orders of fries (animal and reg). The burgers were delicious as always, topped with melted cheese, whole grilled onions, and chopped chilis. Simply the best, can't go wrong when you get food from here. Like their slogan, you can definitely taste the quality of the ingredients.

Yelp
I like this location. We come here when we visit families in Central California. Always friendly service. Lines are usually long but move quick. Location is easy exit just off 580 East in Pleasanton. It's right next door to Chick-fil-a. In & Out burgers are also hot and fresh. Fries are good and their milkshakes are delicious. My goto is is their Double double animal style with vanilla shake. Just writing this I'm getting hungry thinking about it. Nom nom. Cheers!

Yelp
I love in & out. Service is fast and staff has been courteous. Plenty of seating even though parking lot is full. It is about the only fast food i eat and a monthly craving for me.

Yelp
Great service at hand out window around 11:30 tonight! Busy line and kept it moving with great service fixing my communication issue with ease. The two gentlemen at the window were so helpful! And the food was so fresh

Yelp
A Saturday class. We had 30 minutes for lunch. Where to go? What to eat? We headed over to In-N-Out, not expecting to be able to get our food and get back to the classroom in time. We weren't disappointed. We opted to go inside rather than wait the drive-thru. It didn't really make a difference. Getting our order taken was relatively quick. There were only five or six customers in front of us and two order takers working. Our order was #60. The first order to be called after we ordered was #40. As soon as our number was called, we got our food and headed back to class. We got back 10 minutes late and ate quietly as our class moved on. We were not the only ones as 30 minutes is too short when there are no nearby places to get food. I got my usual. Two Cheese Burgers, Protein Style (no buns) with Grilled Onions. What I call a pair of handheld salads with protein added. Absolutely perfectly seasoned and delicious. They certainly hit the spot! Sorry, no pictures and to eat and pay attention!
google avatar

Yelp
Another visit to in n out, another success. The best burger chain around for a reason. Delicious well cooked burgers every time you go. And thats a promise. Animal fries are a must too!
google avatar

Ceivy M.

Yelp
The drive-thru line was a killer, I've never been to this chain before, so that was a surprise. The wait was definitely worth it. The cheeseburger with chilies was very tasty. The fries were meh.

Thomas M.

Yelp
They've never steered me wrong, always professional staff and always great food. I visit this location once a week and it always hits the spot.
google avatar

Kay T.

Yelp
Even tho the lines are long it goes quickly. Food has always been great. Consistently have had friendly workers there as well.
google avatar

Yelp
It's In-n-Out. Hard to get such a great meal at the price point. Where else can I get a yummy burger, fresh fries, and sweeeet milkshake all for under $10?? some not-so-secret tips: - animal style fries! Or if you don't like soggy fries, you can get the sauce separately and dip - mix the milkshake flavors! I always get strawberry-vanilla or Neapolitan - ask for "protein style" to replace buns with lettuce - honestly there's so many ways to customize your meal here, for a cheap fast food place it's the best
google avatar

Dani M.

Yelp
I came in and for once, there was absolutely no line. I ordered a cheeseburger with everything on it, and my bf ordered a 3x3 with no tomato and grilled onions. Unfortunately after driving 30 minutes back home, we found that they had messed up our order or mixed it up :( the order in the bag was a double with grilled onions and a double with everything on it. It was not busy, so I'm confused how this happened, and quite disappointed since In n Out is usually consistent, and the fact we paid for a 3x3 but was short a patty. Probably a red flag that this location wasn't busy on a Saturday night anyways.

Marco C.

Yelp
Apart from taking a very long time to get food done in the drive thru line, our order has been wrong the past 2 times we have been here. By far the most unorganized In N Out I have been to.
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
Awesome. Waited in a super long line, but it went fast, ordered a highly customized protein style hamburger and it was made to perfection! Amazing how a place can pay a nice wage yet maintain reasonable prices.
google avatar

Brandy G.

Yelp
This has got to be the most consistently delicious In N Out in the area. I have only had about 2 orders go wrong out of over (shamelessly) 150 orders. The service is awesome, they're always happy here!

Suryakant J.

Yelp
Good choices of burger , late night food options , fast service , drive through, its always busy . Burgers have always been fresh and fast . Employees are always happy and helpful.

Kelsey G.

Yelp
Over 2 years they have consistently gotten my order wrong, either messing up the dairy allergy part of my burger, or mixing up raw onions and grilled onions. I drive all the way to Livermore to get my In and Out now, because I don't trust Pleasanton anymore.
google avatar

Brunella D.

Yelp
We rarely swing by here to get our fix of Double Double. It's been more than a year since we last came here and nothing seems to have changed here. Their garbage bins located inside the front door are usually overfull and when the front door is open, with the wind garbage flies out of the bins. Staff are VERY friendly and very prompt to help! Their Drive-Thru queue always seems so long and backed up out through the road. It's WAY faster just parking and grabbing your food then getting into the Drive-Thru line! There were only about 2 people ordering food inside the restaurant on a Saturday evening. Overall, food has been consistent. Tastes good and you get what you pay for! Although, the prices seem to have increased, we paid about $20 for two Cheeseburgers and a Double Double, fries included. Located in a shopping center so ample parking.

Tony E.

Yelp
Always decent food but this location is notorious for slow service. I waited over 30 minutes for an order which also was missing part of my order. I love in n out, but this was sub par service.
google avatar

Alexiss M.

Yelp
Last week I had the most perfect cheeseburger. I love this place. Wish they would move; the parking lot is a nightmare! That is the only con.
google avatar

Jacqueline S.

Yelp
What a place, great service, smiling orders takers and this place is mobbed! How do they keep that helpful attitude?? I don't know, but they get our order right every time. Long wait in the drive up, but have outside order takers. This place is a treat for out-of-towners, and locals love it too. This location is half way between the mountains and the Bay Area- good place to stop.
google avatar

Peace L.

Yelp
Seriously what's going on with their new hires over here? Another fail with their service. This time was a girl named Kai with an attitude problem. This place really needs some quality control with their hiring literally.
google avatar

Rohan N.

Yelp
Great service just a little long wait. Food is good and like it's in n out common Cali W
google avatar

Mia W.

Yelp
As with all In-N-Out locations, they are always busy. The drive thru goes on for what seems like miles. But they are always fast and almost always efficient with their service. I love the double double cheese burger. It's consistently delcious. The fries are always lukewarm and soggy. And the shakes are too thick. I'd come back when I am craving a cheeseburger after midnight.
google avatar

Ash N.

Yelp
Service? Simple, effective, and straightforward. Vibes? Consistent and culturally diverse relative to the location. Food? Here's what I get and would recommend -- My go-to: - Double Double, Animal Style, bun extra toasted, add chopped raw onion. -- If you prefer smaller portions in general, then this will be a bit overwhelming. Be warned, it can be a challenge to bite into it. But this balances things out perfectly for me. I get the double meat and cheese which reinforces the notion of eating a burger. Animal style adds extra spread, mustard grilled patties, pickles, and chopped grilled onions. Bun extra toasted gives the bread a crispy edge and keeps them structurally intact. Now here's the monumental difference maker for me -- adding chopped raw onions. Yes, both grilled and raw chopped onions. We have experimented with whole grilled and/or whole raw onions, but no question, chopped is the way to go. Having both in tiny fragments dispersed throughout each bite feels perfect. What's crazy is that I'm not even a big fan of onions, seriously! But if this sounds mildly interesting to you, I highly encourage you to give it a shot. One caveat - this combination works well with the double double ratios. Embracing double onion action on a single cheeseburger is not my recommendation. Unless you love onions, of course. Finally, the fries... Ask for your fries light, light-well, well-done, or just let them serve them the way they feel is right. I used to make a big deal over light-well, but no more. The fry team has my undoubted trust. Do give Animal Fries a try though if you haven't already. Oh and I need at least 3-4 spread packets on the side. I'm about the sauce. Anyways - longest review I'll probably ever write. Don't compare this place to any other. It stands on it's own.

Yelp
I'm always a forever fan of In-N-Out, and what I love the most is the Double Double! And that's what I got from there after work yesterday for dinner. Initially, I was still doing a healthy day so I only got a Double Double with an Ice Tea. Then late at night, I gave into temptation and at chips & oreos. Haha... I now wish I got fries as well while I was there. Anywho... I like how this place was on the way back from work to my house, and the line moved pretty fast. Every time I'm at the Fremont location--it always takes a long long time to go through the drive-thru. My Double Double came out hot, soft, crunchy, and majorly delicious! Love love love it! I want it again now. Hehe :D
google avatar

Marcus C.

Yelp
A staple of California fast food, In-n-Out always delivers quick, efficient service with their delicious burgers. This location is no exception to that. The menu is quite simple, but with knowledge of their "secret menu," you can change your completely change your meal into something different. My usual order is a Cheeseburger or Double-Double w/Grilled Onions, depending on the mood. However, I will always get their Animal Style Fries. Their french fries topped with cheese, grilled onions, and their signature spread creates the perfect side for your burger. Make sure to look online for different ways to change up your burger!
google avatar

Saahil S.

Yelp
YES. Yes. yes. This is the good stuff. I've been a loyal In-N-Out addict for ~7 years now. This location has great food, solid customer service, and a nice vibe. Pre-pandemic, my friends and I would come here after Friday night football games. Word of warning to the general public: expect a bunch of rowdy-ish high schoolers inside the establishment on such days once the world is back to normal. Crowd's always huge in the evenings, but that's just a product of popularity. Place is reasonably efficient with orders, so if you're waiting it's because there's high demand. Nowadays I've mostly done drive-through visits. Line gets long here as well, but moves quick enough. My go-to order is a double double with onions and animal fries, but I throw in the vanilla milkshake on occasion. Employee taking your order will always ask if you want it to-go or for the car, which is nice because "for the car" comes with a tray that makes things a whole lot easier. Definitely a Dublin must!
google avatar

Mark S.

Yelp
Come on In-N-Out. It's bad enough you are using the new lids that shrink the size of the cup, but if someone is paying $3 for a shake at least full it up. Top of the palms? Come on. And these two aren't even that full. You are better than that

Sf Visual S.

Yelp
Tried to give In n Out another shot, yet again disappointed! The quality has just gone completely downhill. After sitting in long drive thru to not only have items missing from our order, but the fries and burgers were COLD Will not be going back.
google avatar

Justin D.

Yelp
Can't beat a late night burger run here. The drive through is impossible because of my lifted truck and shitty turning radius. But going on is typically pretty fast. Staff friendly.
google avatar

Pranamee S.

Yelp
Been craving for their fries and shake throughout pregnancy and when I got the chance I couldn't wait any longer! My first visit to this place during Covid and I was hesitant to even do a drive through thinking about how many spots I would have the use fingers to sign, swipe and press those buttons... but.. They Are completely a contactless place and everyone wears a mask. I was so relieved. Thank you for taking all the safefy measures!
google avatar

Yelp
Came here for lunch with my coworker and omggg ! It's soooo amazing ! It's juicy and it's fresh !

Yelp
Always fresh and good. What more is there to say? Check out the secret menu online to get more options than the store menu presents.
