Food? Here's what I get and would recommend --
My go-to:
- Double Double, Animal Style, bun extra toasted, add chopped raw onion.
-- If you prefer smaller portions in general, then this will be a bit overwhelming. Be warned, it can be a challenge to bite into it. But this balances things out perfectly for me. I get the double meat and cheese which reinforces the notion of eating a burger. Animal style adds extra spread, mustard grilled patties, pickles, and chopped grilled onions. Bun extra toasted gives the bread a crispy edge and keeps them structurally intact. Now here's the monumental difference maker for me -- adding chopped raw onions. Yes, both grilled and raw chopped onions. We have experimented with whole grilled and/or whole raw onions, but no question, chopped is the way to go. Having both in tiny fragments dispersed throughout each bite feels perfect. What's crazy is that I'm not even a big fan of onions, seriously! But if this sounds mildly interesting to you, I highly encourage you to give it a shot.
One caveat - this combination works well with the double double ratios. Embracing double onion action on a single cheeseburger is not my recommendation. Unless you love onions, of course.
Finally, the fries... Ask for your fries light, light-well, well-done, or just let them serve them the way they feel is right. I used to make a big deal over light-well, but no more. The fry team has my undoubted trust. Do give Animal Fries a try though if you haven't already. Oh and I need at least 3-4 spread packets on the side. I'm about the sauce.
Anyways - longest review I'll probably ever write. Don't compare this place to any other. It stands on it's own.
