"Inaho in Yarmouth Port is a longtime favorite of sushi lovers, both locals and visitors alike. Located on the historic Route 6A in the quintessential Cape Cod town of Yarmouth Port, Inaho is a wonderful spot for dinner (or take-out) any time of year. Chef and owner Yuji Watanabe sources fresh fish and churns out sushi platters, classic Japanese appetizers like tempura and shumai, and a variety of delicious mains, including fried whole fish, chicken katsu, and salmon teriyaki. Don’t miss the impressive sake selection and the flourless chocolate cake for dessert." - Anna Darrow

Excellent food, incredibly fresh and well-crafted. The service is also very warm and personable. Somehow I never tried the scallops sashimi - one of their signature dishes - until my... third? visit. Absolutely incredible. Every bite is an experience here. Highly recommended.

Google
Amazing sushi and sashimi. The fish quality = 10/10. My boyfriend’s favorite sushi spot and he has high standards. Will be back with him again and can’t wait for it

Enjoyed a delightful meal this evening, however the sushi/sashimi dinner portions were very small for the price. The eggplant appetizer was mouth watering delicious. The salad was very difficult to eat in the bowl it was presented in, so I moved it to a plate in order to eat it . Very nice casual atmosphere. Unfortunately th bathrooms were "out of service". Th air conditioning made it very comfortable.

An unexpected gem in the middle of Cape Cod. My wife and I were not expecting Japanese food when visiting the cape. The food, service, and atmosphere were exceptional, making our experience and unexpected surprise. We had the chicken karaage and the chef sushi plate to share. Misos made the meal more than enough, and we spent less than $50. It's truly great.

Google
Toro Toro Toro Toro!!! They do Toro soooo very well here. I love Toro. Get their melt-in-your-mouth Toro. All of their rolls also tasted exquisite and the quality of their fish is top shelf. This restaurant was the most authentically decorated Japanese sushi restaurant I've ever been in. Their effort in transporting you and your taste buds to Japan is exemplary. Go here and treat yo self —and get you some Toro.

Google
Excellent sushi! Call ahead or get there. Early place gets extremely busy with a line out front. Great sushi bar plus booths and tables. Sushi was outstanding, fresh, tuna, and scallops. I had the double dragon roll and spicy scallops and roll, excellent..

Google
The only place you need to get sushi from if you are on cape cod. We eat here at least once a month and we absolutely love it, food quality is top notch. Recommend their special “Sophia roll”, stuffed jalapeños, banana tempura, California deluxe hand roll and basically anything you get from their menu you won’t be disappointed!

Scrum·did·dly·ump·tious (adjective - INFORMAL) extremely tasty; delicious. Need I say more, the pictures speak for themselves. Everything from the drinks to the dessert - Scrumptious! Very happy customers! (Toro tuna, eel, yellowtail, salmon sushi, Sophia roll)

Yelp
After a day at Martha's Vineyard we were starving and checking Yelp for suggestions when we found Inaho. When first arriving we were surprised because it looks small from the front and kind of out of place in a neighborhood. As we pulled in the parking lot and saw the endless sea of cars we all said, 'How big is this place. As you enter from the rear, you are right by the sushi bar and the restaurant is deceivingly large inside. Very nicely decorated. We went to the host who asked if we had a reservation, because they were packed. Sadly we said, 'No.' At first she looked like she couldn't accommodate us, but we told her we would even split to 2 and 2 if we could eat at the sushi bar. A few minutes later we were seated and luckily some people left so although at the bar we were all together. Our waiter was great and immediately took our drink order and appetizers. Our starters came out and everything was terrific. We then went on to an array of sushi and all Incan say is that everything was fantastic. We generally ordered all pieces and the fish was so fresh and buttery. We were really impressed. From what we could see, the restaurant was filled with regulars, even to the point that the chef asked where we were from since he didn't recognize us. He then proceeded to give us some items to taste. It was a great experience and I can't wait to return. Great food, great service, great experience!

Yelp
Visited the first time several years ago and have been meaning to get back. Finally did so on Friday night. Glad we called for a reservation because the parking lot was full when we arrived. No problem, our table was waiting for us. We tried the spring roll, tempura appetizer, agedashi tofu (they call it something else) and a dragon roll that had salmon and tuna (salmon inside tuna out on half and tuna inside and salmon out on the other half). Everything was fresh and very good. I had a couple of glasses of sake which was OK and, I thought, over-priced. Service was very efficient. A really solid Japanese restaurant.

David L.

Yelp
Decent service and overall very good food! Price quite high for what you get, but the ambiance and presentation make up for it! Our favorite by far was the special roll of the night with the tempura onions on top. So freaking good. The NEGIHAMACHI roll was very underwhelming and a bit fishy, but other than that we loved our meal!

Yelp
Dinner date, the week before christmas, with amazing food and saki! We ordered an Ebi hand roll , and unegi don ( eel) . I ve never experienced eel ( a bias on my part) however, I ll definitely order it again here! It was slightly sweet, salty a little spice... amazing! The EBI was truly top notch as well! Our waitress, bartender was so sweet and personable ( we sat at the bar area . We are social folk), such a pleasure!

Yelp
We have been going here for many years. The last two years or so it just feels like it has moderately declined (with higher prices). Still good, not great, and probably not worth a special trip.

Yelp
How have I lived on Cape my entire life as a human who claims sushi as their favorite food... and never been to Inaho? I don't know, but I am terribly sad to have missed out on this perfection for the past 20 years. Came for the first time tonight with a 5:30 reservation for the family. It isn't a huge restaurant, so I recommend calling to make a reservations, specifically during the summer months. We were seated at a table and greeted by our server, who was knowledgeable about the menu and just attentive enough. He also gave some great recommendations, however My parents have been quite a few times, so they suggested a few of their favorites, which started us off on a good foot. What we shared: Salmon Kama (salmon collar) Seaweed salad Scallop sashimi -- followed by scallop sushi because we loved it so much Toro Dragon Roll (2) Yellowtail Maki with Scallions Chefs Special Mackerel Every single bite was to die for. Truly. Absolutely zero complaints and even with a wide array of menu items, our check was quite reasonably priced, especially when you take into consideration how wonderfully fresh and prepared everything was. If you like sushi, this MUST be added to your list!

Yelp
RUDE!!!!!! All I wanted to know before I drove 25 minute is if i needed a reservation. I called and immediately was asked to go on hold. I waited 8minutes and 34 seconds and no one ever picked up ... RUDE!!!!

Richard N.

Yelp
Great tasting sushi. Very packed but got seated at the bar and attended to within 20 minutes. Parking was difficulty, which is why it's 4 stars

Brian M.

Yelp
Food is okay. Service is good. If you order take out, check before you leave. After nine years of frequenting this restaurant they have consistently left something(s) out of my order but never seem to forget to charge me.

David T.

Yelp
Wow! First rate authentic sushi on the Cape! Having lived in Japan for two years, Inaho is the real deal. Impeccably fresh sushi expertly prepared. From miso soup with tremendous depth of flavor to melt in your mouth toro. Delicious green tea served in traditional pots. Nothing missed the mark except for a small dollop of mayo on top of scallop sushi -- did not need that. We were not in a rush, and didn't wait too long for the toro hand rolls or miso, but it did take a long time for subsequent food, and it seemed many tables took a very long time for food to arrive. Chef Yuji Watanabe is amazing, but challenged as he prepares every piece of sushi or sashimi himself, with help only on rolls. Definitely slows things down. Our waitress was excellent. Knowledgeable and a pleasure. Decor is beautiful, traditional Japanese style. But for the time factor, Inaho rates 5 stars. We will definitely be back!!!

Cathy Y.

Yelp
Never had a bad meal here. The scallop sashimi "hotategai" is so good. Fresh and melt in the mouth, plus the presentation is superb with the lime or lemon. Adore the eggplant miso. I haven't been able to recreate it in my own kitchen.. Alas, no picture of our rolls. However the Sophia is frequently mentioned in other reviews and it is worth the praise. House special roll was the Toro. So good! Sit at the sushi bar if you get a chance.

Thao H.

Yelp
Wow!! My daughter wanted sushi so we decided to try Inaho. I was worried we wouldn't be seated since it was getting late but they seated us within 15 min. We had a sushi appetizer that really melted in our mouths. I can't stop thinking of it! I forgot the name but it was a special appetizer and I think a type of tuna. I'm not a fan of eel but my daughter order a dish with eel and it was so good. I ordered sushi and sashimi. It's up there with sushi I've had in Japan. Yum!

Yelp
Absolutely the WORST EXPERIENCE WITH KATHY THE HOSTESS! TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL so RUDE, to us when we went in this evening. Started with not answering the phone due to them being so busy. Opened at 5:00 pm and at 5:05 they answered for take out she said 8:30 pm pick up call back. So we thought let's go in since ppl say it's amazing. That is when we met with Kathi again rude almost as though we were bothering her from doing her job, which would be seating customers and making sure take out was taken . I have never felt so disrespected 4 grown adults wanting to do a $200 take out order and have a fast drink. This was a NO she did NOT care to help accommodate us at ALL ! I am fully disgusted how I was treated -

Yelp
Best Authentic Japanese restaurant in Cape Cod! Japanese family owned! Sushi quality is as fresh as can be! Professional skills and breathtaking presentation! We ordered Kama-yaki as well! It came to our table with the best timing and temperature! During this trip, we visited twice! Don't think twice, Go Inaho!!!

Patti H.

Yelp
Arrived about 10 min before our 815 reservation and was seated right away. Wait service was quick and efficient, I enjoyed the lemon drop with saki and we ordered agetofu and shishito peppers both tasty. Our sushi orders came quickly also with the beer we wanted. I have to say an all around lovely experience, food was good, service quick and friendly all on a busy Saturday evening!

Ryan B.

Yelp
My favorite Cape Cod sushi spot. I've been going to Inaho for more than 20 years and I'm never disappointed.

Sicilian Nomad _.

Yelp
Food was excellently, and meticulously prepared. Presentation was immaculate. Service was exceptional!! There is no need to continue..... this establishment has it right; hopefully the rest of The Cape, will follow suit.

Sheridan C.

Yelp
A great restaurant. Our favorite restaurant on Cape Cod. The food is great. Our Japanese friend says it is better than what she can get in New York. We love it. Great staff. Great food. Great ambiance.

Celine O.

Yelp
The service is terrible. The poor hostess is spread too thin, taking take out orders and seating everybody. This is quite possibly the worst service I have ever received, and one time I waited an hour for food at McDonalds.... I called for a reservation and was told 8:30 was the earliest they could take a table of two. No problem. We arrive and are not seated until 45 minutes of standing and waiting, despite the reservation. The hostess was sweet and apologetic about it, but you could tell she was doing far too many tasks for just one person. 20 minutes go by and not one person has come to check on us, finally the hostess sees us and asks if we've been tended to. We say we haven't and she says she'll send someone over, and gets us waters in the meanwhile. 15 minutes later the waitress comes by - at this point we order immediately because we are starving and have looked at the menu long enough. They bring us free edamame as an appetiser, and we are hoping things will turn around at this point. However, our other appetiser doesn't arrive until 10 minutes later. We eat and are waiting for our main course - just two sushi rolls. 10 minutes go by, nothing. Another 10 minutes, and still no food nor has anyone come to check on us. Finally after nearing the half-hour mark post-appetiser the food arrives. We immediately ask for the check. We finish eating before it is even brought to us, and we pay and leave. I won't lie, the food itself was incredible. We would have been inclined to order another roll or two because it was just THAT good. However we weren't willing to wait another 45 minutes for it. We left frustrated and unsatisfied. I was extremely disappointed in the service and will not be going back, which is honestly a shame.

Yelp
Enjoyable night out dining here. Fortunate to have a sushi/Japanese restaurant on the Cape with fresh, quality ingredients. A score for sushi lovers and ample menu options for the raw-fish averse. Good variety of saki, cocktails, and wine/beer on the list. On a rainy December Friday night, the place was packed and buzzing (reservation recommended even in the off-season), and our waitress was on top of everything.

Jackie F.

Yelp
Absolutely amazingly. I have been here more than a dozen times. Each time it gets better and better. Big Thank you to Kathy for this amazing seat in the house!

Miles C.

Yelp
I was a bit surprised that there was a good sushi restaurant in Barnstable. The quality of the fish is very good and what I would expect to see at a Japanese owned restaurant. For the price, I believe it was a fair value. I do wish that the rice was seasoned a little stronger but that is just a preference and the quality of the rice was amazing! I Agedashi tofu was a little pricey but it was good quality.

Michael W.

Yelp
A very decent Japanese restaurant in Cape Cod! Inaho is Japanese owned, so that's a plus. Ordered the sushi/sashimi dinner, which came with five nigiri sushi pieces and nine slices of sashimi. Great quality of fish! However for $37, it would have been better having ten different nigiri sushi and a couple slices of sashimi. I just wish there was a little more variety of fish as that would have enhanced the sushi experience. Agedofu was tasty, but the fry could have been a little bit more crispy. If you're in Cape Cod and craving for some sushi, Inaho is the place to go.

Fallon C.

Yelp
Sushi here was amazing! Nice ambiance and friendly service. It was packed so make a reservation!

marty m.

Yelp
YOU SHOULD HAVE HOT SAKI. It's terrible to go to a Japanese restaurant and not be able to get hot saki. Cold Saki maybe very trendy and people may be into it but that doesn't mean those of us who have always enjoyed hot saki should be deprived!! it was very upsetting to us. You should ALWAYS have hot saki!

Rachel A.

Yelp
This review is for TAKEOUT only. We have never dined inside this restaurant. Ordered takeout and the next pick up time was 1.5 hours from when we ordered (okay....). My husband then went to pick up the food on time and the food was not ready (okay...). Then my husband noticed that the order was not fulfilled correctly (missing two items...). Also when I called in the order, they told me I would be charged an 18% tip for takeout, yowza.

Jan K.

Yelp
An excellent choice on Cape Cod for fresh sushi or sashimi. Portions are generous and prepared as you wait. The service is prompt and friendly. The restaurant is small and reservations are required during the summer months. Parking is ample, located behind the restaurant. On street parking is minimal. Located in the quaint village of Yarmouthport on Rt 6A

Craig A.

Yelp
Kate you are a gem. the place was spotless, the food was right on, the service was impeccable. this comes from someone who works in the industry and has dined at Michelin star sushi spots in California.

Vladimir S.

Yelp
Every year we come here the place is getting better. The service is top notch. You are greeted as an old friend and feel warm and welcome. Sushi and sashimi are superb. Wine list is good and reasonably. Shout out to Katie who is great.

In K.

Yelp
We went here for the high reviews and the love of japanese cuisine. We got sakekawa roll and handroll, toro sashimi unagi sushi and maguro roll. They are amazingly good. Except the maguro roll, it's like made by different person, the ratio of rice and maguro was off. There are so much rice on this roll. Unlike the sakekawa roll rice is thin and equal -although sakekawa roll isn't as good as the handroll one-. Oh the toro!! It's worth the price! Have it!!! It melt in ur mouth!! Not to mentioned the wait!!! Come 1hour before close there is less wait time. We came with reservations 45 mins before close still a wait!

Jude B.

Yelp
Wow yummy sushi on cape cod, this place is special! Super fresh & tasty, I had red dragon toro and Kama tuna cheek grilled to perfection, and perfectly paired with Cloudy bay Sauvignon blanc. Loved seeing all the gals chefs behind the counter too. The decor is clean elegant and a must when you need that sushi fix!

Taylor C.

Yelp
Inaho has the BEST sushi I have ever had!!!! This place is amazing and an absolute must try. We have been many, many times - we went last night for dinner and the service was exceptional. Our waitress and host were both so kind and attentive. Although the place was packed, due to it's contagious popularity, we were treated so well. The food was amazing - and so were the cocktails! I've tried sushi all over the world, and have experienced some of the best places, but Inaho takes the cake, without a doubt! The owners are the nicest and drive to get fresh seafood from MA's best seafood market every day for the guests - and it truly shows. They are the definition of hospitality and culinary excellence. P.S. You have to try the scallop appetizer too!!! It is absolutely incredible and one of the best dishes I have ever had.

Teresa B.

Yelp
When you walk into the restaurant it feels like you are in another world, with authentic Japanese charm. The cosmos were made perfectly, light pink in color with the right amount of citrus. The salmon sashimi was buttery and delicious. Our favorite roll was the Sophia, it was off the hook!

Bridget B.

Yelp
18% tip was added to our takeout order without our knowledge. $25 is a huge tip for takeout! It is not Covid times...not takeout only...The restaurant is open for indoor seating. Why are we being charged 18% tip on takeout food? We would tip 20% for service inside if waited on for an hour or more...but for takeout a 18% tip is ridiculous! This is our last takeout from Inaho. Feel cheated.

Nader A.

Yelp
Those three $ signs attached to this restaurant are accurate. A bit expensive but well worth it. Great service, excellent food and nice ambiance. They are creative with their food. We tried Nassu Bites (Pankow eggplant with spicy salmon or tuna - I forget which - on top), their special dragon roll, and sushi/sashimi dinner. Oh, we also had beet salad. Everything was good! I don't know what they can do about sound. I felt I was intimately part of the conversations with all neighboring tables!! Tables are too close to each other and people are not shy about talking loud saying stuff they shouldn't. That's the only thing I would change in Inaho. Otherwise, it was a great ext.

Chris G.

Yelp
Overall food is decent, however the management does not control the flow of reservations to allow for a favorable experience. I appreciate the the server defended the establishment with the fact that people wait over an hour for a seating. We sat promptly and trended 35 minutes between starters, entrees and dessert. Drinks averaged 25 minutes from ordering. These were probably the most disappointing. $12 for a 5 oz martini was kinda unreasonable. 6A is a beautiful street; but get grown up size glasses that are a reasonable price. Ocean House fills rightsize drinks for the same price. Sushi was great, we acknowledged that we were willing to be patient for the food as long as our server as long as the drinks kept flowing. She acknowledged and did not really deliver. It was busy; I'm reasonable; acknowledge things were a mess and comp a round of drinks. It did happen after talking with management - could have been an off night in the front of the house, but at the end of day; they can own the problem. Really you should ramp up your staff or control the flow of reservations. The front of the house needs to make it all work; a tough job for sure. 3 stars for food; 2.5 stars for service.

Jay G.

Yelp
Been coming here for years and the food and service are always wonderful. Only issue is that the tables are so close together that you're involved in everyone's conversation around you. Best sushi on Cape by far and wont go anywhere else.

Cleo H.

Yelp
Prejudice establishment. Don't bother coming here if you don't exemplify Trumps America. Came here previously and was treated very kindly but when I returned with a friend who had a foreign accent we were told we could not be seated even when there was clearly plenty of seating at the bar. We were even yelled at when we inquired about the empty seats. I have never been treated so poorly then by the hostess at Inaho.

Kimmy F.

Yelp
I typically only eat sushi a few times per year and have never ordered it as take away. Every dish transferred well and was so delicious! The rolls didn't get soggy and the dumplings were still hot. Such a nice treat from cooking!

Daisy W.

Yelp
Really? I don't understand the hype. We finally tried takeout from Inaho tonight, and were pretty disappointed. The seaweed was SUPER fishy and overpowered any flavor from the sushi. Everything was extremely expensive compared to the quality and quantity - we really did expect more. Even the spicy mayo was subpar here. Misaki is much better, has more options, and is more generous. We'll be taking our business there instead.

Susan K.

Yelp
This is the best Sushi and Japanese south of Boston. My favorite restaraunt for the past 20 years. Always fresh and innovative, and even the menu items that have remained on the menu for 20 years are So.Dang.Craveable! I was too busy eating and enjoying my company to take pictures. Intimate. Always busy, but they always try to accommodate . Make reservations. I have never had anything but the best service here. Some of the non family staff has been there for at least 15 years and they are knowledgeable and give just the right amount of attention. If you come in here without a reservation and you are annoyed and irritable because you had to wait, that is your fault not theirs. Respect is earned, not a handout.

Alex T.

Yelp
2/5 due to: - Mandatory 18% tip they automatically add on to pick up orders that isn't mentioned on the site (please just raise your prices so you don't have to add on charges not shown on your site - and frankly, forcing me to add a tip to pickup orders is insulting - I'm not getting the same service as I would inside a restaurant, I'm just picking up food, it's not acceptable to charge me more; maybe just advertise the price on your site separately for in restaurant, and pickup order prices, if you're going to charge more for pickup orders) - Has been late when I've gone to pick up EVERY SINGLE TIME, to the tune of 15-20 minutes after they said to be there - please, if you need more time to get the order ready, say it'll just be done later - but don't make me wait around every single time Would be a 4/5 if these were fixed

Gary F.

Yelp
Went there last year. Pre COVID. Service was spot on. Food quality was amazing. Dropped 200 bucks. 2 people. We left sober and hungry. Bring your AMEX.

Lum T.

Yelp
The food is soooo good! It's family friendly, awesome decor, awesome service and comfortable seats and great vice of the sushi bar!

Ron C.

Yelp
Inaho is a sushi institution on Cape Cod. I've been here several times and I think the food is good. I like the fact they have Blue Fin Toro (so they advertise) and Maine Uni. If they do in fact serve Blue Fin Toro then $9 Nigiri is a steal. Anyway, I came here last night for dinner and enjoyed it. The Nigiri are good sizes and I find the prices to be fine. I used to find the prices high here but after living in DC I've gotten used to high prices. One thing that disturbs me is that this place doesn't have a website. What respectable restaurant doesn't have a website?

Kelly A.

Yelp
Excellent drinks, very tasty stuffed jalapeños, really fresh rolls and perfect dessert. I travel a lot and eat a lot of sushi and this place is top notch. We got a table towards closing and the service was really great.

Cliff C.

Yelp
Fresh Fresh Fresh, that's all about Sushi, and this restaurant has it all. Ina was very helpful and nice, smell all the time. We will come back again for sure.

Deb K.

Yelp
My favorite place for sushi on the Cape. Their specialty rolls are amazing. Even people who typically don't like sushi, can find something here. Their other Asian dishes are nice as well. Always fresh Excellent cocktails and Plum Wine.

Matt W.

Yelp
Limited sushi menu, there is no "sushi regular" and "sushi deluxe" like typical sushi spots. Nothing very exciting, pretty run of the mill given the extremely high prices. I asked for a Japanese whiskey shot and was charged $26! Incredible. We paid nearly $200 for two people and left hungry. Never again.
