Inaka Asian Cuisine

The main purpose of this review is to see if anyone knows when Inaka will re-open!! This is my favorite take out sushi spot in the Prospect Heights/Crown Heights area. They have been temporarily closed since October and I am starting to lose hope.

Got delivery from this local gem. Very generous on sushi meat and the portion. I would love to order more special and regular maki rolls from here! Price is definitely reasonable!

Very cozy and relaxing place. Sushi is fresh and delicious and so are noodles. Interestingly, most people order takeout although restaurant’s atmosphere is perfect for dining in. Waiters are very friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend.

Inaka has great lunch specials plus they deliver. After eating here many times, the quality is still good (was better). The prices are competitive for the area.

We ordered delivery so I can't speak to the vibes of the place but the sushi was incredible! Some of the best I've had in Brooklyn for a very reasonable price, honestly on par with some omakase places. I ordered the sushi platter with miso soup. The sushi was fresh and the flavor combinations were great. Overall, great sushi!

Great find via Doordash delivery located in the Prospect Heights neighborhood. Extensive menu with much to choose from. The 3 rolls for $19 caught my eye which is what we ordered. There was a list of what can be selected as far as the rolls. My selection was Lobster Salad, Shrimp Mango and Salmon Skin. Each was delicious. Nice sized rolls, 6 pieces per order. Great value for excellent, fresh sushi. Will order from Inaka again. Recommend.

Made the mistake of walking over for lunch and they only do take out so hope to save someone else from wasting their time.

Inaka is probably my favorite Japanese place in downtown Brooklyn. Their salmon is cooked very well, and everything about their meal has a home-cooked Japanese meal feel. If you order fried rice, you'll see little bell peppers added to the rice - it reminds me of my mom sneaking in more vegetables everywhere to get me to eat healthy Each bento box comes with a California roll, salad, miso soup, and edamame - and portion sizes are very filling. This place is amazing and highly recommended! There hasn't been something I haven't enjoyed eating yet. I ordered a 3 roll lunch special for take out and have to say I am very disappointed in the quality of the meal. I order two shrimp tempura rolls (spicy and regular) and an eel avocado. The shrimp tempura rolls were both soggy and unappetizing to eat. The eel avocado was very slimy and I could not finish eating.

I order from here ALL the time. Consistently fresh fish and very delicious! Highly recommend

I order from Inaka regularly. The sushi is reliably fresh and delicious, and they are always accommodating. Delivery time is also excellent. My only wish is that they'll go back to in-person dining.

Ordered 3 roll combo, I should've looked at the previous reviews they're really small don't know how fresh the sushi fish was it was like an appetizer for 1695 and they don't give you condiments I requested spicy mayo and I only give you a dab of wasabi probably won't try it again it's nothing like sushi in LA it comes plentiful

We haven't been to Inaka lately and decided to support local. Pleasantly surprised with the quality of the rolls! We love the Crazy tuna roll (hot tip- substitute the crunch for jalapeño - saves a few calories and adds a slight kick)! The 3 roll special is a fantastic deal and the fish was fresh. I love that Inaka doesn't pour on the sauces, just enough to get the flavor but not mask the fish. Also, the edamame portion was a really nice size! Will order again soon!

Such a great value at an affordable cost! I ordered the lunch special to go. For $12, I got a salad, soup, sushi roll, fried rice, edamame, and Shrimp Tempura. The Shrimp Tempura was really good! It was dipped in a special sauce. The sushi rolls were very fresh. This is definitely a great place for take out. I'm excited to actually eat in the next time I frequent this establishment.

Ordered the chicken katsu bento box lunch special - because I have a shellfish allergy, I asked for them to substitute the California Roll with a vegetarian roll in the notes on Seamless. The order came with a California roll. I called the restaurant to have it remedied, the person on the phone said they didn't see any note and that they use imitation crab anyway so it shouldn't be a problem. This is not the case, it's not safe for someone with a shellfish allergy and suggesting that is quite insensitive. I told her that I would be willing to wait for her to send a new order that didn't include the California Roll. She said there was no driver and that I should just call Seamless. If you have a shellfish allergy - I would avoid this place because they clearly do not take it seriously.

I've ordered food for delivery twice from here and also ate in at lunch once. The fish is pretty fresh, and they use reasonable sized portions in their rolls. The lunch special of 3 rolls with soup and salad for $11.50 is a great deal. However, I wish I had known that the shrimp tempura roll is mainly cucumber! Why?? I could not even taste the shrimp tempura, since 2/3 of the filling was julienned cukes!! The vanderbilt roll was tasty, with a healthy portion of soft shell crab, and when you order a spicy salmon roll, the entire roll is filled with salmon. My main gripe with these rolls was that the "spicy" was just not present. It tasted more like ground up, on-its-way-to-be-raw-fish-pate salmon rather than spicy salmon. I had also ordered the "spicy girl roll" and it was NOT. SPICY. AT. ALL. Very unhappy. Just please please make it spicy! Throw in some sriracha or something!

They have a great lunch special and deliver. They are accommodating as well. They have a great pos system where they can bill your card and know what you've ordered in the past. I honestly am pretty impressed w/ the service. Food meets basic sushi standards.

This is my spot. My family eats here on the reg and we are never sorry. Miso soup? Yum. Sushi rolls? Yes. Yellowtail sashimi? Yes please!

Solid delivery sushi place that I'd order from again, but definitely hasn't earned a place in my standard rotation. Weeknight delivery usually falls within the window quoted, which is often 60-70 minutes (so it's on the slow side, but you're forewarned). Generally speaking, the nigiri is quite good -- the fish seems fresh, and the rice is usually still warm when it arrives, so that's a plus in my book. The rolls, however, can be pretty foul. Granted, my experience is limited to those which accompany the nigiri in one of the combos (one of the sushi platters or dinners), but they are still inexcusably gross. The sushi platter, for example, comes with the "godzilla" roll, which is "tuna" smashed up into a tasteless paste, accompanied by equally bland and soft avocado, surrounded by chewy seaweed. It's like eating glue, with maybe less flavor. Chirashi might be the way to go here -- I just wish they would put some better rolls in the sushi combos.

The food from Inaka is always fresh and of the highest quality. My favorite is chicken katsu, and a wide variety of sushi's. My husband goes for the noodle dishes. Delicious and always reliable.

Ohhhhh How I LOVE Inaka!!! Fresh pieces of fish. The lunch specials are very reasonable and they serve good size portions. I am always served a cup of water or hot green tea while I wait for my meal. I have never had a bad experience at this location. I suggest to get their lunch special.

The prices here are very affordable, but the quality of the fish is off for me. We were two of the only four patrons at the restaurant; the place was empty. I felt rushed when ordering and dining.

I would give this place 10 stars if I could - delivery has been early the 4 or 5 times I have ordered, food is consistently delicious, and very reasonable prices. Definitely my favorite!

Their Hibachi Chicken is the best I've ever had!! Peanut Avocado rolls, Soup and salad were superb. Service was excellent and I'll definitely be returning!

"Be consistent or nonexistent"! That's my motto for the things I care about in life, and in this case "things" is food. So there is no better way than to kick off my first review of 2017 than with Inaka. This place is always consistent! Whether you dine in or order via seamless like I do, there are no surprises. The food tastes the same either way which I think speaks volumes and they arrive well within the estimated time frame. When you dine in to this cutesy place the service is very attentive and the staff is very welcoming. I have tried their soft shell crab, spider roll, and pink lady roll. All were delicious. Keep it up Inaka!

I was very pleased and impressed with the quality of the food here. Very fresh and delicious sashimi, they used shiso leaves and the delivery was quick. I give this great sushi place five well-deserved stars!

A neighborhood favorite among the locals for tasty Japanese cuisine. The food is always fresh and on point. I usually order sushi or rolls. They do not skimp on the amount of food given and they definitely give enough soy sauce, wasabi, and ginger, which is much appreciated! Love that I could substitute brown rice with my choices. They have great lunch specials in my opinion and if ordering delivery, the food is almost always early, except for the last time we ordered, but they get a pass for the quality! I'll keep coming back for more!

I'm shocked at how bad the food was for delivery. I've been a Loyal inaka customer in bay ridge location for 5 years!!! Food was almost always perfect. Park slope location- so disappointing. Shumai way undercooked to the point where I didn't eat it out of fear. Rolls were alright. The Soy sauce I do not know what brand they used at this location but it was literally repulsive (beyond salty- to the point of being inedible- I have never experienced this before at any sushi place).

This is absolutely my FAVORITE sushi restaurant. Big fan of sushi and other Asian meals that follow around it. The inside of the restaurant was to my likings, dark walls with comfort lighting. You can watch the chefs prepare the sushi. It may be a little tight and too close to other guest enjoying their meals but it's worth it. I got 3 different types of sushi for like 15 - 16 bucks. It was so worth it. The Gyoza and the cheese Rangoon AMAZING. I tried plum wine there, it was different but I enjoyed it. I suggest this to everyone. The waiter was very nice and patient. I tipped her well.

I have been ordering from Inaka since I moved to Brooklyn...9 years. It's the only delivery I get. It's on point every time. Sure I'm a creature of habit and I order the same thing every time but anyone who orders with me concurs...the sushi is awesome. I especially enjoy calling and speaking to Rita on the phone. I love you, Inaka. Don't ever change.

While dinner is solid, this place is a go to for lunch all year round for me and my kids. The food is tasty, the fish fresh, the service is always pleasant and the price is easy on the pockets. The bento is a great deal at $10. You get soup, salad, spring roll or shumi, California roll and a choice of main (sashimi, salmon teriyaki, shrimp teriyaki etc.) And edamame. You can't go wrong.

Solid sushi spot in Brooklyn. Our go to place closed during covid so have been looking for a new place to order from and tried these guys. Solid Asian cuisine and good sushi. Had the eel, spicy tuna, California and sweet potato rolls and they were all pretty good.

Let me paint you a picture: You had one hell of a work week (well, month) and it's a hot muggy Friday evening. You didn't take anything out of the freezer to make for dinner and don't feel like spending a fortune on food because this city is expensive enough so as it is. Now let me tell you my story. I was originally going to get food from No 1 Chinese and I wish I had. Instead, I got swept up in all the glorious five star reviews for this place and ordered a bunch of food. And you know what? It all sucked. Like, a lot. I got the basil mango shrimp fried rice and my wife got the oyakon don dish. Her's tasted like bland gray textures.....there was literally zero flavor. My shrimp dish was pretty much the same, except I had the joy of getting shrimp that were so overcooked that I had a hard time cutting through them with a fork---and I'm talking about a regular metal fork, not a plastic one. Oh, and my rice was gummy. Yes, gummy rice is as disgusting as it sounds. That was our experience. $50 down the drain and we ended up just making a tuna sandwich instead. Gross, bland, dry, and gray. That was our food.

Excellent sushi. Paid $15 for the 3 roll lunch special and I was surprised with the quality. I got the salmon avocado, tuna avocado, and spicy white tuna- the cuts of fish were amazing and were practically melt in your mouth, which if I'm not mistaken is the hallmark of high quality fish. Amazing place and I'll definitely return soon.

I ended up here because my go-to sushi restaurant is closed on Sunday's. The sushi here is reasonably priced and fresh. I ordered to go and I was greeted at the door as soon as I arrived. The restaurant is small; I was surprised that it was empty but the staff was busy preparing a lot of take out orders. My only complaint is that there was lettuce in my seaweed salad. This was my first time having tossed greens along with seaweed. Luckily the pieces were big enough for me to just put them to the side.

Omg this place is epic. And they gave me a free miso soup as well!! The 3 roll sushi deal is very affordable and extremely scrumptious. Very grateful to enjoy this meal here last year. (Yesterday) god bless y'all and hope to see you in my belly again soon!

Good food at great prices sums up Inaka Asian Cuisine Restaurant. When I arrived there, it was quiet and relaxing....it remained that way for the rest of my dining experience and I was grateful. There is nothing like having a dinner which was a nice way to end my day off from work. Chicken with Soba Noodles is fantastic! I had a glass of Pinto Grigio for just $5.50! The food was cooked well and tasted wonderful.

This is a solid sushi place that has absolutely never disappointed. The lunch special is the GOAT. $9 for soup, salad, and 2 rolls? AND it's 7 days a week, and lasts until 4pm??? So goooood. The service is incredible. You can always count on being sat right when you arrive. Last time I was there, I realized I forgot to ask for brown rice. The waiter had no trouble putting the request in. They have so many fun veggie rolls! Love that I get to switch it up from the normal avocado and sweet potato rolls. They are sort of pricy though - around $10 per roll. Dependable, affordable, with a variety. Killin it.

I love a sushi place with a generous fish-to-rice ratio, and Inaka definitely satisfies. The people there are super nice and accommodating too, and we've gotten great service every time we've ordered delivery from them.

Cute atmosphere with attentive friendly staff ....love that the sushi chefs utilize shitaki mushroom in their rolls-gives them a meaty feel/taste. The calamari roll and sweet potato rolls were deeelishusss !!!

Local sushi spot. Solid food. Lunch special is great. Everything is packed very well for delivery. I recommend the beef negimaki and 3 roll combo with brown rice.

Have gotten delivery from here quite a few times and it never disappoints! The quality is always spot on - I've never had an issue with long delivery waits but it happens. My one thing is their minimum ($15) when their 3 roll combo is 13.95. Love their spicy tuna as well as some of their specialty rolls.

Since I was on a quick and hectic lunch break, I was only able to try one roll from Inaka; I ordered the avocado and eel roll and they were simply delicious. I just wished the rolls were bigger because the quality was exceptional but the quantity was a downside to it all. The presentation plating was perfectly exquisite, with high end plating and utensils (they even brought out soy sauce in a cute tea set and water in wine glasses)! My friend ordered the tempera appetizer (huge in portion) and enjoyed her meal. Inaka is highly recommended for lunch!

Oh my God, Inaka Asian Cuisine was actually magnificent. Reasonable rates for this area. Every single thing that we ordered was extra fresh and delicious. Staff is extremely helpful and will certainly help you with everything. I will be back to Inaka Asian Cuisine.

Good lunch specials are hard to find. They don't get much better than Inaka. Their lunch special comes with everything. And at such a great price. For less than $12 you can eat like a king. Their bento box lunch specials are a steal. The tempura here is excellent, as is the goyza. The sushi isn't bad, but I'm a stickler for good sushi. If you're in the mood for a big lunch and don't want to drop too much, here's your answer.

Ok so it's been some time since my first review and I still go often and get the same things. Everything still tastes exactly the same and the service is still great and because of that I will continue to go.

This was the worst delivery experience I've ever had. First of all there was a hair in the mushroom soup (which is just miso soup with some mushrooms added). Nasty but I could overlook it. What really made me swear this place off forever was biting down on a staple that was in a sushi roll. This is horribly dangerous. I advice everyone to avoid this place at all costs.
