"While it might seem overly touristy, it’s absolutely worth checking out. The park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, showcases the story of the beginning of the US, starting with revolutionary debates through the formation of its modern government. The footprint of the place is huge, taking up seven blocks that are jam-packed with history: Independence Hall (where the Declaration of Independence was signed and the Constitution crafted), the Liberty Bell, the Constitution Center, and the President’s House, just to name a few. There’s even a recreation of City Tavern, the most popular bar among the founding fathers. Loved seeing all of the history. No free parking available. We went to several museums so there was a bit of walking. Crowds weren’t too bad. You will need to get tickets in advance for Independence Hall if you want to go inside. We were there early morning and they were already sold out.

If you are visiting Philly and you like history, then this is a must to visit place for you. We booked our tickets and tour in advance from the website. It's really convenient. You go through a quick security check at the entrance, and you wait for your scheduled time slot. If you are there 10 min before your time, it should be more than enough. The duration of the tour is roughly 20 min. Very interesting and well explained, The Rangers explain all the details in a really entertaining way.

Another National treasure that everyone should take the time to experience. Brilliant men debating and compromising to tell the King of England to pound sand. Then on to build a new nation with a Constitution and Bill of Rights unique in the world, guaranteeing a government by the people, for the people and of the people. Leftists have been trying to destroy it ever since. 1984 is coming to pass. Fight to keep your history. Teach your children. 🇺🇸 Be sure to get tickets and follow instructions. 30 minutes early is a good idea. They have high security entrance with X-ray and pass through metal detectors that is a bottleneck. Leave everything behind, even pocket knives and such.

They will let you in to the signing room on standby if there's room. I'd recommend paying the $1 fee online to book your time if you want to be sure though. Congress Hall next door has free tours every 20 minutes as well. No tickets exist or needed for that. Liberty Bell is wait in line with no reservations as well. If you get there at a good time, it might take 10-15 minutes to get in. It can take way longer if you get there right after a big group shows up. Overall, it was a great experience, but you need to plan your visit to make sure you are efficient with your time.

If you're looking for a national historic park that celebrates the independence of the United States of America, with nice wide open areas to wander and very interesting historical facts to peruse, along with helpful security guards and park rangers - in the middle of Philadelphia, then you have found it here. Plan on a couple of hours to see everything at a gentle pace. Enjoy the spiels from the rangers. Learn about how a big, important bell cracked... but not when! We just don't know, apparently! Take pictures and post them to insta so you can prove you take this nation's history and founding seriously. 👍

Felt like a congressman for a moment… don’t carry a lot of stuff because a lot of security checks happening … no street parking or free parking available… book a parking before you start… few of them have tickets, buy ahead if you have them in the plan… couple of them are free…Carla has walked us through a little history of 1790-1800…she’s fantastic. No food/smoke/drinks inside .no restaurant either.

A great national historical park. All of the staff involved were great. I was recommended by a security guard to join a free tour, and I was able to have an excellent tour showing off Independence Hall and its significance. It is definitely worth visiting if you want to hear about the history of the United States and see some major attractions for free.

The is a MUST SEE if you are anywhere near the Philadelphia area! Whether you’re a history buff or not, the interactive experience and breathtaking facts are incredible to see and witness. I highly recommend taking a few hours to explore every facet that this area offers as there is so much rich history behind this small part of Philadelphia.
