Solid Indian Buffet with Tons of Vegetarian Options Stopped by India 101 in Irving for their buffet and was pleasantly surprised. As a vegetarian, I’m used to limited choices at most places — but here, the variety was impressive. From curries to appetizers to desserts, there was something for everyone. The veg Manchurian was the standout — bold flavors, great texture, and just the right amount of spice. The dosa was decent — not the best I’ve had, but still a nice addition to the spread. What really sets India 101 apart from other buffets in the Dallas area is the sheer variety. Whether you’re vegetarian or not, you’ll find plenty of options. And for around $23, it’s a pretty solid value — especially compared to other spots charging $15–$20 for half the selection. The vibe is casual but clean, and the staff did a great job keeping everything stocked and moving smoothly. 📸 I’ve posted some pics and videos of the buffet so you can see the full spread — it’s worth checking out. If you’re in the Dallas area or just craving Indian food, this place is definitely worth a visit. Follow me for more honest local food reviews! 🍛✨

Decent food & ambience. Tables and chairs look but worn out. Coming to food, lot of vegetarian and non-veg items. Fried fish was good. It took some time for them to refill the tray. But taste was good once we got the fresh batch. Chicken curry was good. Complimented the Naan which was soft and flaky. Hakka Noodles were good , paired with chilly chicken. Chicken biryani was Ok-ish . Nothing special. Chicken was dry. Salad spread is good if you want to cleanse your palate. Goat curry was flavorless , it just tasted like undercooked spices. Onion pakoda were oily and soggy, not crispy. Chicken tangdi was worst, completely dry and overcooked. Not recommended at all. Panipuri was average. Dessert options were good . Gulab jamun, Rice kheer, panacotta , gajar halwa. Kheer was best. Drinks - Buttermilk and mango lassi were good. They have fountain drinks options

Food is so bad, not authentic. On memorial day holiday went to buffet dinner, the biryanis seems leftovers, not fresh & very dry, they stopped refilling many items after 8:30 pm, all these dishes does not seem like rich food, very outdated chat station, not worth for the money and time we spent. Also we didn't find anything special here, not too many options to choose from, and service also not so good, they didn't even offer ice in the water, not at all courteous. We were not provided proper cutlery instead provisioned with plastic ones. The restrooms doesn't operate well, doesn't have hand soap.

A+. Ask for Alonso, he truly made our first experience an A+. Its pretty outside & inside. Super clean. The variety of food from this buffet is absolutely amazing. They have it ALL! This buffet also includes drinks & coffee. If this restaurant put table clothes to their table, it would look Fine Dining. I truly enjoyed the taste of everything i tried and even had seconds. 💯

This Indian buffet is truly a food lover’s paradise! There are so many delicious dishes and desserts—honestly, it felt like there were 101 different options to choose from. From rich curries to flavorful rice dishes and a variety of sweets, there’s something for everyone. Most of the dishes are on the spicier side, which adds to the authentic experience, but just something to keep in mind if you’re sensitive to heat. The location is also very fancy and upscale, which makes dining here feel like a special occasion. If you enjoy bold flavors and variety, this place is absolutely worth visiting!

If you visit Dallas, and have appetite for 101 variety Indian food, please go here. Super food quality, and 101 types. So you will not miss anything. Dosa to Biryani all in one place. Good choice for vegetarian. Weekend is crowded, had to wait 30 minutes to get a table. Pricey. Jan 5, 2025, Saturday lunch, $22.95 per person plus tax. I enjoyed, because it was Lucknow special day.

Yelp
Famous for buffet. Good management. All the food is arranged in a separate room next to sitting hall, good for crowd management. Below are the items I tried on Wed lunch buffet (only listing veg items): Salad bar: Moong sprouts Potato cucumber salad Beetroot salad Greens Chutni counter: Tomati chutney Peanut chutney Coconut chutney Raita Curd rice Drinks bar Mango lassi Pink lemonade Buttermilk Soda machine Dessert: Kheer Mango ice cream Gajar halwa Suji halwa Chocolate Pastry Gulabjamun Pani puri counter Golgappe Papdi Bhelpuri Jeera Pani Meetha Pani Amchur Pani Sev Curd Meethi chutney Mint chutney Onion, tomato, coriander Aloo tikki chat Vada pav Pav bhaji Puri Chola Aloo ki sabji Dosa Rasam Sambhar Naan Paneer Kofta Dal Kadhi Aloo bonda Mix veg pakora Dosa, sambhar, kadhi, beetroot salad, jeera Pani were the best. Golgappe had some weird oily taste to it, but overall taste was ok. Dessert were ok as well. 4 stars for the variety, as I never found these many veg items in a buffet before but has room for taste improvement. Reasonable buffet price- 18.99+ tax.

Yelp
I went to India 101 the other day and got 4 plates of food and mango lassi. My first plate had papad, tandoori chicken, chicken 65, chicken dumplings biriyani, naan, butter chicken, and some chicken curry. The chicken curry had a nice spice and was quite tender. The chicken 65 was very crisp and also possessed a nice flavor and the papad was just papad. The biriyani was extremely bland and the chicken was flavored like water. The butter chicken was way too sweet and I didn't mess with it. However across the board the chicken was extremely tender and cooked very well. My next plate was a pani puri chaat plate. The potato and garbanzo beans mixture was good and I also enjoyed the tamarind sauce. One thing I wish was better was the green chutney as I wish it had more spice. My 3rd plate was gobi manchurian, noodles, and some more crispy chicken. The noodles gave me unforeseen diseases and caused me to cry a little but the gobi manchurian was amazing and by far the best thing I ate from the restaurant. For desert I got a plate of gulab jamun, sheer, and cake. The cake was horrible but the other 2 desserts were good. Overall the food was solid but the way I felt after almost made this a 1 star. My stomach ached like no other and I nearly vomited over 50,000 calories of food. I also destroyed the bathroom and am awaiting a renovation due to the damage I caused!

Yelp
i rarely eat lunch while in my office, and its even more rare that i actually go out to eat. However, this place is my #1 go to choice for lunch. i don't know what it is about indian buffets, but i just love them. While it isn't "cheap", i think the 20 bucks you're paying for the amount of choice you get is still a good deal. every time i go there are people there during the lunch hours, which is a good sign. We never had to wait, and get seated fairly quickly. My favorite items are the palak paneer and the chicken tikka masala. couple those two items with either white rice or biryani, and i'm good to go. However, this place has so much more than that. i think they have items from the north of india as well as the south of india, which makes it so diverse. also, i was able to try pani puri for the first time recently, and it is an amazing snack. they also have a salad bar and a section for dessert. Honestly, every time i go, i end up back in the office with a food coma. hard to focus on meetings after lunch. lol For drinks, they will offer water. but they also have a soda machine you can get soda from along with chai, lassi and coffee.

Yelp
India 101 is by far my favorite restaurant in the entire DFW Metroplex. They offer a large selection of vegetarian options along with several meat choices and desserts as well. Their chili chicken, vegetarian "meat"balls, and pani pani are some of my faves!! For drinks, they offer delicious chai, mango lassi, plain lassi, and coffee -- those are in addition to the water and sodas you can choose from. The service is always excellent and the ambiance of the restaurant is welcoming and warm. I highly recommend India 101!!!

Hyun P.

Yelp
This place has more selections than any the other Indian buffets I've been too, they also have hot chai and coffee. Restaurant was clean, plenty of staff near by in case you need something. I would definitely come back here again. We went at 6pm on a Saturday and no wait, was around $50 for 3 adults.

Hannah N.

Yelp
I can't help but compare this place to be the equivalent of a Chinese buffet in the sense of quantity over quality. While everything I had was good it was not great. The decor is nice and feels upscale. I've been here twice now, because I wanted to try it one more time before leaving a review. The first time was lunch on a weekday and there were two parties going on. The kitchen had a hard time keeping up with the crowd. This time was lunch on Friday and while still busy, most items were kept well stocked. The naan station was a little behind but luckily had some on my way back to my table. There is a pani puri station and made to order dosas. This place gets busy but it's nice to try different things and to be able to get in and out. They do close between lunch and dinner. I would most likely stick to my neighborhood places.

Benjamin M.

Yelp
The food was amazing. I love eating here. I can't wait to go back and treat myself again

Yelp
This is a solid buffet restaurant if you're looking to try different Indian dishes as a beginner or just want to satisfy your cravings. I was in my Indian phase, and have been craving different dishes. I saw an advertisement saying this has over 60+ items, and the cost wasn't crazy either, so we stopped by. We came around 7 PM on a Sunday and the restaurant was packed. There were a couple of large parties in front of us. They have a waiting area, which is pretty nice, with a staircase leading to the second floor. I'm guessing the 2nd floor is for private events mainly. We waited about 25 minutes for a table. The restaurant looked big on the outside, but the seating area was pretty small. I was amazed at their buffet options and how organized everything was. They have appetizers, curries, salad bars, fresh dosa, desserts, lassi, fountain drinks, and more. Just like other buffets, you grab a plate at the beginning and make your way down the road. There are small wooden bowls if you want to separate your curries like me. I enjoyed trying everything, and I absolutely love the dosa. I wish the dosa was crispy like what I usually get at restaurants, but I think it's pretty solid for buffet style. The regular rice was undercooked-- it was still crunchy when we bit into it so that was disappointing. I love their mango lassi and the fountain drinks. Everything is available for you to grab which is very convenient. The food quality isn't the best but it was still good enough to satisfy my cravings. My boyfriend didn't like the tandoori chicken-- he said it was pretty plain and tasteless. You can see the naan and dosa being cooked right behind the counter so that was pretty cool. They restock it quickly since there's one person behind each area. Overall, it's a solid place if you want to try multiple Indian dishes. Most buffets are only available during weekday lunch so I was happy to find one that offers weekend dinners as well!

David P.

Yelp
LAST VISIT...EVER ! Sunday evening, most of the food tasted reheated and bland. The Tandoori chicken had some weird brown-grey color, and definitely had a leftover flavor. The magic of past of India 101 is gone...and the almost empty dining room on Sunday evening had to be representative of the drop in quality and following. And to add insult to injury they charge $25 a person for bland or leftover foods. Nope...thats it...very sad to say...last visit and I will not return.

Ashley W.

Yelp
I've always seen this place driving past but finally got a chance to try! I've heard lots of good things and it definitely did not disappoint. There was a lot of variety including classics like butter chicken and biryani. The mango lassi was never-ending for me, and I kept going back for more, especially to help with some of the spice. There's lots of seating space but would recommend getting a standalone table as opposed to the booths near the back as it's a bit crowded in those spaces, which was fine for us as we were part of a large group. As this place is a buffet, I can't comment too much on the service but they were pretty quick to pick up used plates, but could improve on refilling water cups (unless that was something we were expected to do? I don't recall seeing a water refill station, but that could be my mistake.)

Ezhilarasi M.

Yelp
we ordered Chicken Briyani. It's not Fresh.Just rice and top few chicken not fresh.order took people not Taking properly and Drive throw very bad response.Disappointed.

Markie P.

Yelp
I was surprised to see that the Buffet was giving lots of options from appetizers to entrées to side dishes, two sauces, lots of different curries, lots of different rice, and even desserts. I was also pleasantly surprised to see that they had mango desserts.

Raian N.

Yelp
My husband and I really enjoyed this Indian buffet. We came for lunch at 11AM and everything was clean and already put out. There was about five or six different types biryanis, many chutney, flavors, and even more chicken and curry options. The options were endless for all kinds of food. Our favorites were the Andhra Chicken, Fried chicken, and butter chicken. They had little bowls so that you could try a little bit of everything. Their dessert wasn't the greatest and not many options there but the actual food made up for it. The Mango Lassi was so good! Service was super quick with taking away the plates.

Helen M.

Yelp
Food, service, and ambiance were 1000/10!! The Chicken 65 has heat but is so delicious!

Gabriela G.

Yelp
Great buffet. It was great to try new foods I haven't tried before. Enjoyed the lentil soup. Tandoori roti and green curry chicken was delicious.

Nat S.

Yelp
I will start out by saying this is one of the pricier Indian buffets I've been to, but I did enjoy it. You feel like you're walking into a club when you first enter. Place is pretty spacious. They have a lot of food for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. They do come by to pick up plates often. You can grab your own drinks and such at the buffet (they have mango lassi and chai as well as soda). It can get pretty loud in there, but not terribly overwhelming.

David S.

Yelp
Food at this Indian buffet is delicious. There's a lot of good food to try and you must try the mango lassi.

Gny A.

Yelp
Selection was larger than other Indian buffets I've been to and the flavors were really good. The service was average, not horrible, just average. The location is easy to get to. The ambiance was nice and clean and had nice windows to let natural light in. Bathrooms were clean.

Gary B.

Yelp
I'm not sure who is calling this the "largest Indian buffet in North Texas, but....." I'll try to make this short and sweet... but you know me... Like most places, people are attracted to new/shiny toy. The place isn't brand new but fairly new (New to me at least). Very elegant on the inside. Stairwell leads to an upstairs that be rented for private events. Nice dimly-lit vibe that I like. You can try to call in for reservations or take your chances by walking in. We went on a Friday night and we're seated after 20 minutes of waiting. The BUFFET... somewhat decent selection of food items. I was most impressed with the staff. The kept clearing the table and making drink refills. Very good staff there! I can't give this place a hard time. It was a decent experience. The interior is very sleek, intimate and jazzy. The food choices and taste... meh. I'll be honest, I still love OUR PLACE. I like their garlic chicken. I was a little surprised and disappointed that it's not available at INDIA 101. OVERALL: I recommend you check it out. But don't go in thinking that it's the "end all be all" for Indian buffets. It's also a stretch to say that it's the largest Indian buffet. The place is large but the buffet area is rather small. Go see for yourself

Rony N.

Yelp
It's a nice restaurant with a lot of variety to choose from and they are all amazing. Restaurant is clean and nice ambiance. Had to waved at the server to ask for drink refill a couple times. That's the only improvement to make but the food are awesome.

Yolanda H.

Yelp
This is our to-go place for and Indian food buffet. Great tasting everything including the yummy pizza for our child who doesn't like Indian food . Great prices and large variety of delicious food to choose from.

Kiran D.

Yelp
Worst buffet food ever. Stale, lifeless, flavorless and gave me an instant heartburn. Used to be a great place to take clients but never again. Dosa was limpy and tasteless it was embarrassing to take guests to such a dump.

Torri H.

Yelp
The price with tax for two was about $45 if I'm remembering correctly, so a little higher than your average buffet but it's worth it for a nicer dining experience and atmosphere. From top to bottom I enjoyed the entire spread of dishes with the exception of the tandoori chicken, it was the most bland tandoori chicken I've ever had and I wish they'd work on improving their recipe for that. Also, I hope they add samosas to the buffet eventually because those things are sooo good. Besides that I was extremely happy.

Danny C.

Yelp
Love India 101! Visited my brother who lives in Dallas and he recommended this restaurant as one of the best Indian buffets. Boy was he right! Lots of choices, food rotates well and always leave stuffed and satisfied! Thank you India 101! You earned a repeat customer!

Sajit G.

Yelp
Excellent Buffet and Service. The weekends get packed so expect to wait around 15 minutes to be seated.

The H.

Yelp
We were very disappointed in the food everything tasted the same or was very greasy. The temperature in the dining room was awful! People were sweating I imagine it was 80 degrees in there. There is no way the cold foods were kept at temperature. Never again wasting $50 on 2 buffets.

Sandeep G.

Yelp
We were in that area and decided to have lunch here. Reached there by about 12:15 and were seated immediately. We were offered a table very close to the station where they keep the water jugs and extra glasses and requested to be seated elsewhere and were offered a smaller table so decided to stick to the one offered earlier. As far as the food is concerned, the spread is impressive but the overall quality in terms of flavor is hit-and-miss. Things that I had that were good were, the Pakora, Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Kabab, Dosa, Potato filling for the Dosa, Sweet & Sour Vegetable, Kung Pao Chicken, Schezwan Chicken, Lassi, and the Rice Kheer, Things that were a miss were the Sambar, Vada, Gulab Jamun, Sambar, the Fish Curry, and the Vada. The Biriyani was OK. Ok choice if you are in that area and have a good appetite.

Maura K.

Yelp
This was our first time trying India 101. The service was great. Unfortunately, that was the best part of our visit. We tried several different items and everything we had was either cold or barely room temperature. If you are looking for a great chicken tikka masala, you won't find it here. The butter chicken was ok, but was barely warm and a little lacking in flavor. I can't imagine the food temps are up to health code standards, but I could be wrong. My quest for a good Indian food restaurant continues, as we won't be returning here.

LH C.

Yelp
We love India 101 and will even make the trek up to Irving for their selection and food quality. The chutneys are especially tasty, and the vegetarian selections are vast. Highly recommend for service, food quality, and selection!

Arthur H.

Yelp
We went here for a lunch after church. They featured a buffet. The food was pretty good. Wide variety. Any shortfall in the food (and I really can't point to any) was made up for by the great attitude of the servers. We had a 2 1/2 year old, and the table next to us had one about to turn 2. Kid friendlyWe would definitely go back.

Hayley R.

Yelp
I came in today and just asked for a portion of chicken. I was charged $18 and given a tub that was 90% bones and a huge thing of rice. The bones were so large there was no way it was even chicken. I'm pretty sure I just got scammed. Very disappointed

Parv K.

Yelp
Great place, staff and food. Please take it down a bit in the pepper. Very hard to bring kids and my American friends When the food is too spicy. Other than that great place to eat!

Ashley E.

Yelp
Currently posting this from the ER. Don't go to this restaurant if you have a peanut allergy. I was very careful, yet the food was still cross contaminated somehow. The food overall was good, but not allergy safe.

Tanya E.

Yelp
The food is delicious! The service is very good. The ambiance is friendly and relaxed.

hubei m.

Yelp
The best Indian buffet I've had in DFW. All the favorites and some new items to try. I drive up from Waxahachie just to eat here.

Mark J.

Yelp
Let me start by saying I am not a super experienced Indian food veteran, but I have been eating it for well over 20 years, and there are lots of dishes I like (mostly what I assume are the "typical American" favorites like Tandoori and Butter Chicken, and my personal favorite Chicken Tikka Masala. One of the reasons I like buffets is so I can try new dishes to see if there are any I like without having to order a whole entree worth. As far as the food goes, I tried several options including a few that I had never tried before. Some were really good, others were a little strong and/or spicy for my taste. I was disappointed there was no Chicken Tikka Masala, which is normally a buffet staple (they had Paneer Tikka Masala instead, and the sauce was fantastic, which made me want chicken even more!). So I'd give this place a 3/5 on food. The restaurant is really loud! I did go at peak lunch time and it was fairly busy. But between the concrete floors and other hard surfaces, and all the groups laughing and having a good time, the noise level was noticeable - and not in a good way. 3/5 on atmosphere. Honestly my biggest issue with India 101 is the cost. It was $20.56 after tax for one person for a LUNCH BUFFET! I know inflation is rampant, but I have never paid nearly that much for any buffet outside of Vegas! Absolutely NOT worth it in my opinion. Another related complaint is that at most buffets (in my experience) you pay as you enter. Here you pay when you leave, thus my surprise at the cost. If I had known how much it cost (post prices on the wall behind the register maybe!?) I would have turned around and left. 1/5 for Value. Like I said there were lots of groups there and it seems to be popular but I won't be back.

Amod G.

Yelp
I was excited to try an evening Indian buffet which is usually rare but was I was kind of disappointed by the whole experience. Service and Ambiance of this place is great however food is not as good as it should be. I tried multiple chats and they are the only good option to eat here. Tandoori chicken was nice as well but apart from these few dishes everything was below average. Onion pakora were dry, dosa was cold, medu vada was almost burnt, gulab jamun was chewy, gajar hulva was not even made properly. Overall food was below average with great ambiance and service. I wish they work on the food so make this place better.

Mad I.

Yelp
Real Deal. Good food. Nice selection authentic taste. Spicy the way it should be. Very clean and beautiful place. Price is decent and nice selection of food. If you crave Indian food. You got to try it.

Shandilya P.

Yelp
Drastic drop in the quality over the last couple of years. Every item was just okay not worth the premium pricing. Probably won't go again .

Will M.

Yelp
Great place to go for lunch and a date with my wife! The selection is always amazing and the marsala is the best

Miki M.

Yelp
I love this place. So many different options. Most are really good. Hard to find quality food at a buffet but here it is! Lots of different sauces to try as well. Good juices too. The green juice is pretty horrible but I think that's if you're trying to be healthy. Not me!

Shafia A.

Yelp
We have already come here like 3-4 times within the past 2 months. Just because anytime someone comes to visit we bring them here and I think we will continue to do so for everyone who comes to visit us in Dallas. I think the food is a hit or miss. So, you won't always get great food quality, but the variety makes up for it. It is best to take a little of everything, try it and then get more of what you like. The place has usually been very clean when we come and staff has so far been great to work with. The price is very reasonable for the amount of food you get and that helps a lot when you may have a large party every time you visit. I won't say I love this place because I don't, but it is a great place that accommodates space, variety of food, good customer service, cleanliness and great decor.

Carlos D.

Yelp
I went here for lunch yesterday with high hopes based on other reviews. I'm giving them 2 stars because the place was very clean and the buffet had many food options but nothing was particularly good. The tandoori and spicy chicken were the better of all the dishes I tasted. The butter chicken and goat curry (it had no label so I think that's what it was) taste ok but the sauces were watery. Not sure if this is the best way to describe them but the rices were dry. Then naan had been sitting under the heat lamp and was chewy. It felt like India's version of an American cafeteria like Luby's or Furr's. For the quality it's definitely overpriced.

Carolina S.

Yelp
Nothing worse for me than to be craving Indian Food and being disappointed. We were visiting Dallas and looked up places on Yelp. They had really good reviews and a dinner buffet so we decided to try it. Sadly most of the food was not fresh, the chicken and the biryani were dry. I tried a variety of the buffet items and none of them were special.

Priyanka T.

Yelp
I went there for lunch buffet with my husband. I have never seen such an extensive selection of food items in an Indian buffet before. There is something to cater to everyone's preferences, and even the dessert options were plentiful. The price is slightly higher compared to other Indian buffets, the quality and variety of food justify the cost.

Niketa B.

Yelp
Front desk was rude and did not welcomed us for Buffett. We walked in at 1:20pm and she was so rude and told us the Buffett will be taken out at 2:00pm sharp and didn't even considered us coming in.

Torus T.

Yelp
Best Indian Cuisine in the DFW area. Nicely decorated restaurant and the owner is Awesome!!! We Love, Love, Love your food!

Deepali D.

Yelp
Came here for the first time on a suggestion from family. The food was extremely bland. The indo-Chinese tasted like soy and was not spiced properly. The naan was chewy. The dosa batter must have been unsalted because it was also bland. The one star is for the mango lassi, which was the only acceptable item. Quantity is definitely not quality in this case.

Yelp
What a fun concept! Food and drink included in one price and you can serve yourself. Just a heads up since we had to ask- you get a table and can just go to the buffet. There's not really a waitstaff that will greet you. Just go get your grub! There was a private party in the back room and their music was incredibly loud in the restroom but luckily not as noticeable in the eating area. Will return!
