I had a very disappointing experience with India Grocers in Edison, NJ. I purchased a case of Limca soda from their store and later discovered it was expired. Since I live over an hour away, I called the store to address the issue, but the owner refused to offer a refund or any solution. Selling expired food is not only irresponsible but also a potential health risk. I expected better service and accountability. I would caution others to carefully check expiration dates before purchasing from this store.

Out of all the Indian grocery stores, I like going to India grocers the most. The store is big and not crowded or cramped like other stores. The prices of vegetables are good and they used to have sales . I find the prices cheaper than Patel bros. They have good variety of food items and utensils too. I just want to request them to bring back those deals and sales that they used to have.

This establishment offers a comprehensive selection of fresh produce, baked goods, snacks, and spices. However, a negative interaction occurred at checkout, where the cashier exhibited frustration regarding an expired product on the shelf and the stocker's inability to provide information about it. The store also carries a wide variety of healing oils, Pooja supplies, and herbal teas. While the overall shopping experience was positive, we were unable to locate turmeric.

A very big shop at prime location of oak tree road, prices are competitive with local grocery , huge collection of items. Indian utensils are relatively low when compared to the size, parking is moderately available and mostly you will get parking. Produce and other items are fresh and would recommend to my friends

A place for authentic grocery from India. They carry a great selection of teas, cookies and snacks. Not to mention all the wonderful fruits and vegetables on hand. In addition to huge selection of ground grains, flours and rices. Caution: Some items can be (are) very spicy!!!

One of NJ's largest and most spacious Indian grocery spots. The aisles are roomy and well-organized, making product search a breeze. While occasional emptied racks during restocking might momentarily obstruct, it's not a major issue. They boast an impressive variety of goods; I was thrilled to find Indrayani rice here. Their collection of cooking utensils, especially Indian steel ones, is extensive and impressive. The store layout, resembling American retailers, makes shopping enjoyable. Although the vegetable variety could be better, it's a satisfying spot for groceries and utensils. Bonus: ample parking space!

Wow this a another Indian Walmart right here at oak tree road. Lots of selection can’t figure it out which is the best. Thank you guys keep neat and clean store.

My husband went on 26 April 2025 to buy some groceries at billing the owner accused my husband that he didn’t pay rice bag $17 on 3 January and it was accidentally paid by another customer ahead of him as his card was charged twice and he also bought the same item $17 rice bag So that customer was arguing for wrongly charged so the owner charged extra $17 on 26 April which is totally wrong how come they blame someone else as they failed to there job Our card shows $35 purchases on 3 Jan and there is no proof that it was my husband who didn’t pay for rice bag Anything doesn’t make sense Show me camera footage or any other solid evidence Cashier not doing there job and blaming people after 4 months very wired treatment Scamming customer is wrong. Never going to this store again And people going please check your bills I never checked anytime shopping here god knows they have scammed me also

Amongst all the other Indian grocery shop like patels/subji mandi etc , India groceries is really good. First and foremost it isn't as crowded as others ... easy to park and do a quick shopping for Indian groceries . Lots of parking in This complex .. We went on a weekday and the billing was quick . Not sure how it is on weekends . Vegetables are good and fresh . They have dosa batter , chapatis etc . Almost all groceries are available .. overall a good shop and good experience

If you have never been to an Indian grocery this is a pretty awesome place to go. They have so many different varieties of foods and options. Everything from fresh to frozen. It's amazing. The people that I interacted with were also very nice and helpful with all the questions I had. definitely coming back here again but next time with intentions of buying something.

Great spot. 1) You can get all your Indian needs. 2) I like the fact they have a huge parking space. 3) They also have large selection of Indian non-alcoholic drink.

Nice variety of food, giant grocery store and I love this place! Good prices on the 6 lbs chick peas can. There are Indian restaurants nearby on the same strip of Oak Street.

I bought $56.65 groceries and when I got home and see Mooli - Daikon is bad bad, it had worms in it, I went to return with receipt but the cashier did not return it.

My favorite is the produce options they have and how big the store and lot is in comparison to all the other stores I have been to. The employees were very kind and helpful with everything I needed. They really impressed me with how everything was so aesthetically placed and set! By far my favorite grocery to come to for all my needs!!

This is a very poorly managed establishment. I drove all the way from Albany Ny to buy groceries ... asked to use the restroom ... got the run around!!! No one had the key!!! Save your time and dignity ... go elsewhere ...

One definitely for consumer affairs / department of health inspectors to crawl over. I found several items that expired in 2017 and other items which have clearly been repacked and had their original expiry date deliberately removed. When I enquired about the Indian savory Bombay Kitchen products near the front door that they don't have expiry dates was told that's how they come from the manufacturer. I explained in Patel Brothers it has black date printed on the front. PG Tips tea bags from UK had cellophane removed, expiry date on base neatly obliterated and then repacked but they couldn't get the top on neatly. Advised staff about these issues and they said will look into it but I could see this process endemic. Interesting to read another review that somebody got sick buying food from here.

This Store is big and well maintained. It is always neat and tidy and clean. Today I went for Diwali sale shopping. They always have good sale during Diwali. Employee are nicer here than other groceries stores.

This is the new Indian grocery store on oak tree road. Good selection of veggies and frozen foods as you walk in. Lots of isle space, so carts aren't bumping into each other. I was a little confused on their layout - it was hard for me to find the spices (how do you not find spices in an Indian store?!). Prices are about the same as everywhere else, so Check out this place! *Enjoy

Pluses are a large frozen food section and snacks to select from. Minuses are they have a small fresh veggies section. At the cashier I found her to be rude when I asked her to make sure that the items which where on sale are reflected in her system, the cashier didn't look into what I informed her about and I recieved no discount on the sale item. I will not spend my time or gas to visit the store again. I will continue to just go to trader joe's for frozen Indian food when I crave it. They need to work on being customer centric and to follow up and check on sale items when a CUSTOMER makes them aware of an issue.

Downgrading the rating to 2* because this is the second time I have bought a product only to realize that it is expired. After the first incident, I have to check the expiry dates on everything that I buy and this one slipped through the cracks. Will upload a pic to illustrate the same. Will also attempt to try and return it along with the receipt to try and see whether the grocer will take it back.

PROCEED WITH CAUTION. I got very physically sick from food I bought here. When I called them up if I could get a refund they told me NO and I brought up calling the Health Inspector and they said "yes call the health inspector" and ignored any of my frustration as a customer. I am SO disgusted and literally threw away anything I bought.

I am giving 3 stars to this Grocery store because of easily available parking, variety of Indian grocery items from India's renowned brands however the those 2 minus stars are for their 'leaky/ unsealed' packaged items. The reason being, in order to accommodate as many packets (of Daal, Namkeen, Spices, Nuts, etc) in small shelves, their employees prick the packaging with push pins to release the air however the packaged item gets in contact with air and doesn't retain its freshness. Since the items on the shelf sell so fast, the food item doesn't go bad that quickly. I have witnessed this unethical practice of employees pricking the plastic packaging with push pins in other Indian grocery stores too. Next time when you visit the store, check the packaged item to see if it is still airtight or not.

my goto supermarket! i can find everything here and its extremely spacious. I recommend if you are in the area to check it out sometime

The spaciousness of this store is what draws me here every time. Every other indian store is so congested and small compared to this store. Their variety is unparalleled and I can be rest assured that anything I am looking for, I can find here.

Great grocery store that's large and clean with long aisles of everything you need to make good food. The frozen section has great lamb vindaloo and I love the yogurt they sell. Huge parking lot also.

dont shop here. all items are fairly expensive than apna bazaar or other grocers in the area

Pathetic customer service! Not customer friendly. They are not ready to listen to customer's issues. Staff training is required.

Like this store a lot. Was able to find all I needed and the prices were comparable on most things. Organization is key though, need a little bit of cleaning as well.

buyers beware.... i bought a packet of deep frozen - samosas. when i opened them they were rotten!!!!. never have i seen frozen food go bad.. i have been here for a long time. when i called the store today.. the rude lady had the gall to tell me that i must not kept them frozen correctly. for the record.. these were bought in december when the weather is cold and i only live 4 miles from this store... this is one is going to the authorities.. wonder how they are still open...

The South Indian selection of groceries and the overall vibe really is spot on here. My Husband is Telugu and there were many things that he hasn't seen since being back home. We also got a pressure cooker here for a killer price! We are living in Brooklyn but we will definitely be back. It's worth it!

What's the use of having a big parking lot. There were no cart to carry the grocery stuff. I searched the entire area there's not even a single cart. Thought to complain but it was crowded in the billing area and That's PATHETIC.. I understand its Saturday and a busy day but It's a waste of time driving all the way...

Hi', I visited the store on 1/2/2015 & spend total of $190.00 on grocery (including one 1 Kg bottle of Dabur varika oil for falling hair. This oil has a broken seal inside, when I called the store I was asked all the details including transaction number, receipt #, cashier number, date & soon. I asked the manager name DAKSHA that all l need to exchange with the same item but I was told that it takes four hour to checked the problem I had. I live in New York I personally Went there today to exchange the bottle but, I was denied by DAKSHA (manager) & I was Accused for stealing the item. When I asked her to provide the phone number of the owner, I was given the fake phone number. I am giving you the advice to those people who shop at this store, do not buy anything From there. Lot of items are without the exp date. Be careful about shopping there.

it was completely devoted to Indian grocery needs and was very big. It is pretty new stroe it only opened 2 weeks ago.

I went first time to this store cashier was so nice i asked for a item she left what she was doing and help a customer to find the item i really appreicated it a lot.

Lots of options to purchase variety of Indian grocery and foods. Prices are lower than many other Indian grocery shops around. Only downside is few veggies/fruits are sometimes not fresh. We may have to skip them

Wow this grocery store has MAJORLY improved since i last walked in. They carry so much all natural organic items. The grocery selection is a bit small but much much more fresh than before. The prices are reasonable and I will be coming back! The parking lot is huge and I never have problems finding parking which is very time consuming. Lovely staff, check this place out.
