This is the BEST indian restaurant in Town!!! Been going for years! For newbies~ try the Chicken Tikka Masala and Shahi Navratan Korma! Worth every penny! They also have a lunch buffet with all sorts of dishes. Some is too exotic for me~ but those two dishes I mention are literally my favorite restaurant dishes in entire city! (Reno) Pictures are takeout.

My experience at Indian Kabab and Curry was nothing short of exceptional, a true hidden gem in every sense. The food was indescribably delicious, with vibrant flavors that danced on the palate, showcasing the rich depth of Indian cuisine. The service was impeccable, attentive, warm, and effortlessly professional. Making me feel genuinely welcomed from the moment I stepped in. I opted for takeout, and my order was ready in a lightning-fast 10-15 minutes, a testament to their efficiency. The restaurant’s ambiance was luxurious yet unpretentious, with beautifully set tables that invited you to linger, though I didn’t dine in. While waiting, I sat at the bar, a stylish and comfortable spot, and was treated to a complimentary glass of cold, refreshing water served in a stunning blue wine glass. A thoughtful touch that elevated the brief wait. Indian Kabab and Curry is a treasure worth discovering, blending exquisite food, stellar service, and a refined atmosphere without missing a beat.

Genuinely have loved this place since I was a teen and my family usually comes here like a treat or special occasion. Not saying you can’t dine here casually as it does get regular foot traffic and has an interesting view being opposite a stop light so watching the cars come and go is actually appealing. My partner got the buffet which I recommend for first timers to the restaurant, you’ll get a wide variety of veggies and popular dishes there and it gives you an opportunity to really sample the menu. I however got an ordered dish which from the pictures you can tell are served beautifully. Murg Tikka Marsala: Comes with rice and is also usually at the buffet. I like the portion sizes of the menu ordered item if you’re someone like me and can’t portion yourself correctly and especially don’t want to waste food. This dish was a bit tangy and creamy and the chicken was cooked great. I usually eat this like you would tortillas and rice and so usually use my hands. I recommend building your bite and always order the garlic naan bread to go with it and in general really, I ordered two. Mango Lassi: Yes a special description just for this, if you haven’t tried it, order it, it’s a tall bright orange drink that tastes of yogurt and mango and is a perfect balance for the strong flavors of the food. It’s a bit sweet and tangy and cold.

I loved my experience here from the very beginning! The most important part of any experience for me is the customer service and the customer experience. I entered with my mom and we were seated immediately and taken care of. We had two people assisting us directly and while the lady seemed shy (still friendly), the man that assisted us wasn't so. He joked around and made the experience more lively. The food was great also. I tried a few different things and everything I tried was great! His personality though...

Google
The best lunch buffet option in Reno. Great atmosphere, quality, & service. Being a Reno native I have paid this location visits for roughly 20 years. I have never walked away disappointed. I highly recommend visiting this gem in Midtown.

Google
This place really knows how to do lunch right! The buffet was plentiful and had something for everyone. Even without paneer, there were plenty of vegetarian options. The dishes were satisfying and light, which made for a comfortable dining experience. Perfect for both newcomers and longtime fans of Indian food!!

Google
Had the lunch buffet, the garlic naan that came with it was a big hit, and the chicken tikka masala sauce was also really good, though the chicken seemed a bit rubbery. Those were my highlights, the rest was not too memorable. The lunch buffet goes from 11am-3pm and is about 17$ per person after tax. Free parking behind the building.

Yelp
I've been wanting to stop by this place forever! Came by today and it was very good. We did their lunch buffet - they have a lot of options and they're all hot and fresh. They bring you either garlic or regular naan which was good too! The environment is super cute and welcoming, it was overall very good and we will definitely be back. :)

Yelp
I forgot to review this place from the last time I was in Reno. I was commenting there weren't any buffets left in Reno except those Chinese buffets. My friend said there was this Indian buffet that was decent. Most Indian restaurants in CA offer a lunch buffet, but I think this is the only one in Reno anymore. India Kabab and Curry was easy to find with GPS, but you gotta know the parking is in the back, down a side alley. I know to get to any buffet at opening when the food is the freshest. Lunch buffet starts at 11am for $15.99 per person, which is about the same as that Chinese buffet. Inside is actually very elegant and nice. We sat at a booth and went directly up to the buffet. Service was quick and efficient at keep water filled and plates cleared. As with most Indian Buffets, naan bread is included, all you want. Garlic or plain are the choices. Up at the buffet line of food, they had my most fave Tandoori chicken and Tikka Masala. All the other choices looked a little mysterious to me, so I stuck with the tandoori chicken mostly. It was good to see the chicken pieces were thighs and drumsticks, no junk pieces like the back or rib cage. I had one buffet where they just had all the junk pieces at the buffet cause they were saving the good pieces for the ala carte entree's. OMG! My first bite into that tender theigh was wonderful. So moist and tender with that tandoori flavor. This was one of the best tandoori chicken I've ever had! We both ate our fill! I was surprised the restaurant at lunch wasn't more busy, but I like a quiet lunch! For $20 bucks each including tax and tip, it was well worth it. Next time I'm in town I'll come back here!

Yelp
This place has been right "under my nose" for years, and I had never tried it. Who knew I like Infian food? Food: So many delicious flavors. The sauteed mushrooms and onions were the first taste. Followed by a a bite of everything on the buffet line. Decor/dining environment: Quiet! A pleasant experience for sure, especially for a single diner. Staff: Super friendly and helpful. Explsined each entree to me and the best way to taste/eat it. Price: $15.99 lunch buffet I'm excited to earn the Online Order Discount to enjoy this after a looooong day driving up and down S Virginia Street.

Yelp
My wife and I had been desiring some Indian cuisine and we decided on mid-town. We arrived at about 11:25 and the timing was perfect for that particular Friday. Drink service was delivered immediately upon seating. We returned with full plates, and garlic pita was served to complement our selections. ( plain is also available) The decor is very nice and themed as an Indian Cafe. The food quality in my opinion deserves four stars, however, I discounted my score 1star due to a bathroom deficiency. The men's restroom had a stale odor and was not as clean as one would expect, as close to opening time as we arrived. All in all a very god buffet value.

Yelp
The lunch buffet here is always solid. Service is fast and the buffet pricing is super reasonable too. The special chicken and tiki masala are some of our favorites!

Yelp
The food is fantastic. Best in northern Nevada. The service is not the greatest, but the food comes out fast.

Yelp
Such great food! We were looking for something that didn't close early for dinner, turns out India Kabab and Curry is open til 10! Perfect! We ordered the Royal Dinner for 2 and it was amazing! It came with so much food, including your choice of entre, samosa and drinks. We left full, happy and with two boxes it was so much food. Not only that, they were so fast and friendly. It was a very comfortable and romantic dinner for us. Thank you!

Yelp
The food is fantastic and we stumbled upon the Saturday lunch buffet! Plenty of comfortable seating and wonderful service. The place is cool, great de or and the perfect temp on a hot day.

Yelp
Service was excellent. Food perfectly spiced. The food came to the table promptly. We ordered three dishes with rice and one order of naan and the portions were more than enough for two people. Dinning area has nice table settings and bathrooms were clean.

Yelp
I've been stopping into Indian Kabab & Curry for my Indian food fix basically forever. It's always been spot I can rely on to get a good flavorful meal time and time again. They have a pretty long menu with sooo many varieties of delicious naan, none of which disappoint. The service is always on point and the bollywood movies or music videos they have going on the TVs are a fun change of pace. This visit I enjoyed the chicken tikka masala with some mozzarella naan. The tikka masala is spiced just right and goes great with the side rice.

Yelp
While we have a great selection of Indian food to choose from in this area, this is still my go-to! To be honest, I only go for dinner once in a while and have never been disappointed, but my regular time to visit is for their outstanding lunch buffet. You can still order from their menu during lunch, but why bother when the buffet has so many choices? The service is always on point and the atmosphere is always comfortable. I especially love the Indian music that always plays on their tv's. It's great to get a look at their culture represented in their music videos. Let's focus on the lunch buffet: A great selection of food that changes every day, with some staples that remain constant...with everything being delicious every time and a wide variety to satisfy anyone's palate. Some of my favorites that are always there: Basmati Rice to put under whatever other food you choose...always flavorful and cooked perfectly. Tandoori Chicken Chicken Tikka Masala Some kind of fried Pakora...onion is my fave. There's usually Mulligatawny Soup...outstanding flavor! You always get your choice of regular or Garlic Naan to have with your food...freshly cooked and hot. One serving is plenty for one person...it's a fairly large piece cut into quarters for you. As to the rotating dishes, here's some of my favorites: They always feature a dish on their sizzling hot platter...anything from meat to veggies. Saag (spinach)...this is always a welcome taste treat. Special Chicken...a very unique flavor profile. Their Lentil dishes are always tasty, as are their mushroom and potato dishes. They always have a variety of Chutney, as well as a very nice Hot Sauce (that goes great on the Pakoras) and Raita, for a nice cooling effect and flavor addition to any of their dishes. They always have fresh fruit for dessert. Not always offered, but when they have it, there's an amazing dessert called Fruit Cream that's basically fruit cocktail in a cream that's always a great way to finish a meal. If you check in on Yelp, you get a FREE Mango Lassi drink...love this! They also have a bar with cocktails, wine and a nice selection of beers, including the classic Kingfisher, a great Indian beer that complements the food well. On another note, I attended a Yelp Elite event recently celebrating the holiday of Diwali, which was SO much fun! Lots of great food, as well as classic Indian dance routines that we got to participate in. I suggest that you give them a try to see what YOU think...I'm a regular at the lunch buffet and will always visit anytime for lunch or dinner when I have the opportunity.

Yelp
India Kabab and Curry was one of the first places we dined at after arriving in Reno. At the time it was a very good sign that our new home was where we should be. Right on Virginia St it has a parking lot in the back. Enter around front or on the north side. We at always greeted as we enter and choose a table or a booth. We have dined in the evening but usually visit near noon as that is when the buffet is open. Such a selection of many layered flavors of Indian cuisine. Fresh melon, salad, rice pudding, grilled vegetables in a tomato sauce, saag, chicken curry, chicken tikka masala, mint chutney, raita, plain or garlic naan and more all for an incredibly reasonable price. Even though our recent visit was for the buffet the service was excellent. There is a full bar and yogurt drinks for your enjoyment. If you have not enjoyed Indian food yet I suggest the buffet. You may try many dishes to find your favorite. Try things that may stretch your palate, at this restaurant you will find much to enjoy.

Yelp
This is out second visit in two weeks. First time we ordered chicken tikka and veggie korma. Tonight we ordered the Royal dinner for two with chicken tikka and Murg tikka masala (lamb). The dinner feeds four of us. We added two extra soups, garlic naan and one more Jalab gabum. So wonderful!! The staff is nice, the food is great and the atmosphere is casual. I highly recommend this Indian restaurant.

Yelp

Yelp
I have been coming here for over a decade and am never disappointed. The buffet is my preference. I like a variety. But if you just want a single dish, go for the Tika Masala! The service is prompt and professional. The eating area is very clean, but almost too formal. And it could have more modern feel which would make the experience that much better!
google avatar

Yelp
Maybe not the best Indian food spot in Reno , but the lunch buffet is unbeatable. Friendly staff, right in the heart of South Virginia, and overall vibes make this place a gem.

Yelp
I tried them at a taste of Reno event last year and couldn't get enough. Their masala sauce is so flavorful. I love the tikka and Chana masala!

Yelp
Came here with a large group for a birthday party. They accommodated our group easily! The vibes and decor leaves a lot to be desired but the food easily makes up for it! The butter chicken was the best I've had and I wish I even knew what else was ordered for us but EVERYTHING I ate was better than the last thing I tried. The drinks were limited but prices for alcohol was unbeatable! I have always been hesitant to try Indian food but this place makes me want to dive right in!

Crystal L.

Yelp
great place. friendly staff. smells delicious! Can't wait to try our food. Very excited! Very very very good location.

Yelp
I love the food here. Its so flavorful and tastes fresh. I try to order something different each time. This is one of my favorite Reno restaurants.

Yelp
My gosh this is the only place I'll ever go. Yes it's a buffet. No slacking on quality and I like SO MANY dishes that I'd limit myself too much.

Mr. L.

Yelp
My wife and I came for the buffet lunch. The food is always a spark to ignite your souls spark. Gurmukh is always ready to joke with us and knows our order almost better than we do. We will keep coming back as long as the food and the service is this good! Thank you for the delicious meals and fond memories. 180000000.999999999999 stars.

Yelp
Amazing quality food all around! Some of the best Chicken Tikka Masala and Saag dishes I've ever had. Lots of gluten free options and super reasonable price point. The service is always great and it's fast to get take out or delivery too. Prime location in midtown and open late.

Kelvin I.

Yelp
Always good food. I remember the owner handing out free meal during covid. Outstanding community service.

Yelp
The food is Delicious!! The people are so friendly. The place is clean. I do not see any female worker in site! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! For a restaurant just operating by men, its super clean and neat. Well put together! Did I mention friendly? They are the best! The food again is super delicious for the price.

Alysa D.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place.. the prices are good, the food is delicious and the staff is friendly

Amanda L.

Yelp
This is my absolute favorite place to go for Indian cuisine. Their buffet is always exceptional and the food is so warm and comforting. I will never complain about prices needing to go up at this establishment because the food is so very worth it. It is always very clean inside and at the buffet station, and the service is great too. I also love that the menu for the buffet rotates so you can experience different things each time. I highly recommend the crispy onion Pakora, and the coconut and tomato soup! Honestly, pretty much everything is my favorite there, they could not make unexceptional food in my opinion. The Mango Lassi drink is also A MUST if you love mango and yogurt. It also helps to cool the palette in between bites. India Kabab and Curry is such a special treat about once a month for me and my family, and I look forward to every visit.

Yelp
This place is not for people who are the same hue as the Hindi people .. Unfortunately somehow these people forget that their color, lifestyle, etc originated in Africa.. The portion sizes are really great.. It's such a shame to have such nice looking individuals work but their insides are ugly.. Which in turn made the entire experience unpleasant.. I reached out to my friends that are of Indian descent from India and well let's just say they had no kind words!!! It takes more energy to be Hate Filled than pleasant, as you never know what day a person is having and that could be your last day.. Especially the way the world is going... To all those that read my commentary.. Don't do it.. Don't waste your gas.. Your cash or time.. Go to the cute spot up the block...

Yelp
This was my first visit to this restaurant and I loved it. We came for dinner, and the ambiance in the restaurant was very nice. It's located in Midtown but has parking available behind the restaurant in addition to street parking, which is always nice! They offer cocktails, wine and beer and the house Chardonnay was a perfect accompaniment to our spicy meal. We started with vegetable samosas-very good and loved the dipping sauces. Main course was butter chicken, tiki masala and a chicken in a tomato based sauce whose name eludes me. Love that the server asked spice level and the garlic naan we ordered with it was perfect. Service was good-overall a very pleasant experience and I'll be back! Don't forget to check in on Yelp as there is a complimentary mango drink offer!

Charlie L.

Yelp
great food and friendly service at affordable prices Family friendly and lots of delicious options to choose from

Yelp
A wonderful evening of Indian cuisine and fabulous hospitality once again! We love visiting India Kabab because we feel like family, so when our friends asked us to take them for their first, yes first ever, Indian food experience we knew this was just the place. So I made a reservation for Friday evening for 6 people, but more friends wanted to join and we ended up a party of 12, and India Kabab set us up with a big long table right near their awesome new roll up doors. When making the reservation I had asked them to preorder some appetizers, and just ahead of them coming out, the team came by swiftly with mango lassis for the kiddos, and ice water and cocktails for the adults. While not the first thing you may think to drink here, the mango Margarita with fresh mango was deeeelightful even on a cold night. I had a neat pour of some highland single malt which surprisingly paired nicely with the food. For apps we did the chefs non-veg sampler with pakora, samosa, seekh Kabab, and a few other gems. For dinner we had to run down some classics and ordered saag paneer, dal makhni, and aloo gobi (potato and cauliflower) on the veg side and then tikka masala and beef vinadloo on the non-veg. New to me, and a pick of one of my friends, was the mango basil chicken, which wa absolutely delicious and will be a go to as long as it's on the menu. Sweet, spicy, savory and all things in between. An absolute winner! Yes. There was naan too. Blue cheese naan in fact, a suggestion of the server and something I'll also be adding to the repertoire. As always, there were leftovers. I'm excited for breakfast!

Dw A.

Yelp
India Kabab is a classic Reno dining experience. Love the atmosphere and food. Service is always quick and friendly. one of my favorite restaurants is town.

Yelp
Great food! Lots of choices. Awesome staff The lunch buffet is fabulous and of course the naan

Yelp
Two lovers of spicy food met and had a baby. They now have to settle for mild/medium spice level when they go out because their 2yr old eats everything they eat and while he has an excellent little pallet for his age, he can't handle more than a 2 in spice level. Last night the biggest little foodie stayed with his Nana so of course his parents had to go for a spicy Indian food date night. They decided on the Royal Dinner for 2. The feast was started off with deliciously crispy Samosas and a mild lentil soup that was really warm and satisfying. Next they were brought a plate of sizzling meats that included tandoori chicken, chicken tikka and sheekh kabob. While the Tandoori chicken was the favorite of the meats, there were good size portions of each. For entrees He chose the Murg Do Piaza, medium spice and She got the Murg Coconut Korma, hot spice. Both choices were delicious though He was a little sad that his dish was mild, not medium as He'd ordered and it didn't have much sauce to it. The rice was plentiful and the Naan was baked to a perfect crispy/chewy texture. The Royal Dinner for 2 was wrapped up with choice of Masala Tea or dessert. His tea was warm and creamy and her Gulab Jamun was deep-fried in butter and soaked in syrup. The whole meal was less than $50 and they left with two take out boxes full of leftovers. The service was top notch, as always, with friendly and attentive staff. India Kabob and Curry is located right next to Chapel Tavern which makes this dinner option the perfect date night spot. A delicious savory dinner at the restaurant followed by signature cocktails in a dark and hip atmosphere at Chapel Tavern.

Yelp
this is one of our favorite little Reno restaurants! we love going to their lunch buffet and enjoying all the different dishes they offer. the waiters are always so friendly and attentive!
google avatar

Raymond L.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time. I will always try mulligatany soup when a restaurant offers it. The soup they made here was good but more on the watery side, it was okay but not great. I tried the mango lassi, interesting but not my cup of tea. We also ordered lamb curry and the standard chicken tikka masala and the saag paneer. I hate to say all the dishes were pedestrian and just going through the motions, nothing real impressive in my opinion. What was impressive was the bathroom, it had a bidet, now that was something I see in a residence but definitely a first in a restaurant.

Yelp
My favourite Indian restaurant in Reno. They are consistent with fantastic service and a wide range of vegetarian options. The food is always fast and fresh.

Millen Z.

Yelp
Food and drinks were very good and fresh. We really liked the dahl and tandoori chicken!

Yelp
All of the above. Greatest restaurant in Reno. The owner is always a pleasant person to talk with.

Demaya T.

Yelp
beautiful resteraunt with very pleasant atmosphere. Salmon Tandoori is wonderful, and large portion. Veggie Korma is just right and samosas are crispy. the onion kulcha has loads of yummy onions. I am excited to return again and again.

Yelp
our favorite Indian food. Our favorite dish is Veg dinner for two. Great food and price.

Yelp
Well, this is the first time I've tried India food It was absolutely delicious the butter chicken rice. Everything was absolutely all I can say it's delicious if you never tried India food, I suggest you try in the India and Curry restaurant on South Virginia in Reno Nevada, because the owners are great people they service awesome
google avatar

Ashley R.

Yelp
I ordered murg vindaloo which tasted more tart like tomato sauce without any spices. Also ordered beef curry and tandoori mixed platter. Very disappointed I live in Sacramento CA and we have some really good indian food. The food from this place lacked flavor. Their tandoori chicken tasted like it was baked in the oven. We brought the food to our hotel room and we ended up throwing it away. I don't like to waste food but after few bites we couldn't eat it.
google avatar

Casey S.

Yelp
I can't believe I'm saying this but... I just recently dined here for the first time. My husband and I had ordered takeout one time a few years ago but we never actually stopped in for a meal. I was honestly blown away by the affordability and quality of everything and I already know this is going to become a regular meal spot for us. I love the sheer number of options on their menu with nods to the usual Indian meals and unique ones for their particular region. The service was good for the most part, though there was some confusion when we tried to add on an extra naan that we never received, but that's okay! It's a great place to meet up with a couple of friends and share some different foods. Highly recommend! Note: You may need to circle the block or two around it for parking but there are options!

Beth F.

Yelp
Good Indian buffet for 'gringos'. Excellent garlic naan served at the table. Always have tikka masala and a variety of vegetarian dishes. Service is usually excellent and the ambiance is just fine; nothing special, but that's not what I go there for.
