Google
Best Indian food in bowling green. The service for our party of 7 was a little slow but our food came out quickly after we ordered and was delicious. Great vegetarian menu and house wines. Busy spot but they deserve the business 😊

Google
This has to be the best Indian food I have had. We had an appetizer, Naan, and 5 entrees. Every dish was well seasoned and flavorful. This was my first time here and will absolutely be back!

Glad I read the reviews and knew to come early for dinner. Got there at opening and it filled up within 45 minutes. I got my usual Indian fare - saag paneer, garlic naan, and kheer. Pros: 1. Food was good. 2. Presentation of food coming out of the kitchen was fun. They rolled the food out on carts. Somebody's tandoori chicken was sizzling and looked tasty. 3. They respected spice levels. Normally I'll get the hot or Indian hot but tonight I didn't feel like heartburn so I got the medium and it was perfect. Cons: 1. Service was pretty mid -- not friendly or very rude, but definitely doing the bare minimum so folks will tip. 2. This place could use a thorough deep cleaning. I didn't realize how dirty the wall next to me was until halfway through my meal. Overall, ok first impression. I'd like to check out the lunch buffet.

Google
Overall experience was mixed. The garlic naan was a standout, crispy and flavorful. However, the Malai Kofta and Paneer Butter Masala were just average, lacking the depth of flavor I had hoped for. The Veg Biryani, although spicy, also fell short of expectations and was rather average in taste. While the garlic naan impressed, the other dishes did not quite hit the mark.

Got there when they opened at 5 on Friday night. The food was outstanding!!! I had the Lamb Coconut very good! My mom had the chicken mango and my boyfriend had the butter chicken and everybody loved the food but we waited about an hour and a half to order cause they were so busy and the guy that waited on us was very unprofessional because we would ask him for something and he'd just wave his hands at us like it wasnt important and run off and wait on another table. They had a line waiting outside for the people to be seated. We left at almost 8 pm. Service was NOT good. The food was outstanding!!! So it's a mixed revue on this place. They apparently need to hire more help then this place would be EXCELLENT then. And I would give it an outstanding revue then. Guess I'll have to go try it out again in the near future. The picture is my Lamb coconut.

Google
Every visit to India Oven leaves me a very happy customer! The food is delicious, the portions generous, and the service excellent. Please keep doing everything you're doing - BG is lucky to have you. My only wish is that they bring back the lunch buffet, because it's so fun to try the different dishes!

Google
Amazing food! I had lamb samosas as an appetizer, and they were cooked to perfection. The chicken tikka masala for the main course was incredibly delicious. The service was outstanding. Will be back for sure!

Google
The food was DELICIOUS! We simply cannot pick out what our favorite dish of the night was. The lamb samosas were KILLER. We also ordered the Chicken tikka masala and the Butter Chicken both were delicious. We also go the garlic and mozzarella naan. Did not disappoint! The service was fast, multiple people refilled our water the food came out fast and it was an absolutely pleasant experience. Can’t wait to come back to try new dishes. Super affordable too

Yelp
This is the best Indian food I've had in years! Friday night at 6 they were busy but it was easy to get a table for four. We decided to share family style. We had vegetable pakora, garlic naan, raita, butter chicken, chicken saag, lamb coconuts, and Chana masala. All were perfectly medium heat. There was so much food, it barely fit on the table. Took enough home for another meal. What a fantastic dinner! Of course, I thought about pictures about the time we finished eating. Trust me, it was beautiful.

Yelp
Very satisfying. Had a big lunch and ordered a lot of food so we could try different things and have some to take home. Food was served quickly and was very fresh. Highly recommended.

Yelp
India Oven has vibrant, flavorful dishes that truly capture the essence of Indian cuisine. Each bite was packed with authentic spices and ingredients, making me feel like I was genuinely in India. Maybe someday. The presentation of the dishes was equally impressive, with vibrant colors that elevated the entire meal. Despite the restaurant being crowded on a Sunday, the service was attentive and efficient, making sure the experience was enjoyable from start to finish. Overall, India Oven stands out not only for its delicious food but also for its inviting atmosphere and high-quality service. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Indian flavors!

Yelp
We love Indian Food and are always excited to try new places. While traveling through Bowling Green we came across this place. The Chicken Curry was amazing. A I thought the atmosphere was relaxing and the service was excellent. We stopped here when driving through on a road trip. Great service and fantastic food! Everything was amazing!! The people were super friendly and answered all my questions!! We had the #7 appetizer, garlic naan, coconut chicken, and chicken tikka masala! I can't say enough about how amazing everything was!!
google avatar

Matt C.

Yelp
Absolutely love, the butter chicken and garlic naan. Called my order in it was quickly prepared and ready to pick up no problems.
google avatar

Yelp
Service was efficient, perhaps a bit terse at times but I'm willing to let that slide, as closing time was approaching. Ambiance was about as expected. I thought the complimentary appetizer, Indian crisps with 2 chutneys, was lovely. My Panir Masala was colorful, complex and wonderfully spiced; the medium (choices are mild, medium, hot, and Indian hot) heat level was plenty for me. The garlic naan was great - bubbly, chewy and liberally seasoned.

Yelp
While visiting Bowling Green KY, my hubby and I wanted Indian food and we were extremely happy we found Indian oven! I ordered the butter chicken! Hands down, this was the best butter chicken I've ever tasted! The sauce was sooo creamy and flavorful! Service was good! If I'm ever back in BG, I'll definitely come back! Ambiance: Family oriented and inviting

Yelp
WOW!!! Got my Lamb on tonight! Started with Lamb Samosa! Very tasty, lots of minced lamb and a wonderful dipping sauce! Dinner was Lamb Tikka Masala! Very flavorful, the lamb was incredibly tender, and just a hint of heat! Best lamb I have ever had. The basmati rice was light & fluffy! We also had garlic naan! So good! Wish we had ordered the cheese naan also! For desert we split the Kulfi (pistachio ice cream, mango was another option) and the Gulab Maljun ( light pastry balls dipped in cinnamon flavored syrup). Both had interesting textures. The Kulfi was hard, but creamy, and a little bland. The Gulab Maljun was very sweet, but drenched n syrup! The staff was attentive and friendly! My wife loved the Indian tea and the house diet coke was spot on! Definitely a spot to try if in the area!

Yelp
You might ask, What's the point of yet another 5-star review; that's all they've got. After eating here they just deserve it, and I have to add my voice. Best vegetable pakoras I have ever had, and I've had many. Crispier, lighter, with more veggies. Truly redefined my understanding of the dish. Lamb saag and lamb curry were also great. I really doubt you can go wrong here. Atmosphere is brightly lit and a bit spartan. Service was good. We didn't have breads other than the very pappadum, brought with the menus. Lastly it was very fast, AND very reasonably priced. Dinner for 2, shared app + 2 mains, a drink and a beer, was $57 before tip.

Very good service. Fast and clean restaurant Menu lots of choices Might be testy for a first time indian food person It be nice if they had a cheaper lunch menu Bread very good

Yelp
No one ever accused Yelp ratings of being an exact science, but this one I flat out just didn't believe. I figured the only way you'd get a top-rated Indian restaurant in Bowling Green is that people just didn't know what they were rating. But I eat a lot of Indian food in a lot of places (180 restaurants, according to Yelp, plus my own culinary experiments) and the food I got here was top notch. There's some nice South Indian restaurants in the greater Louisville area, but nothing this good in Lexington. For North Indian, this may be the best in the entire state. What's so good? You get a complimentary papadum (a lentil-based cracker) with accompaniments on the house. The menu is broad and intriguing and has more than the standard vegetarian options. And they have an efficient service operation that wheeled out some fresh-tasting cuisine. People were lining up for takeout here, but they're really missing out on the freshness. A proper aloo tikki that's just been fried clashes with its cool coverings wonderfully. Theirs had some nice green herbs on top as well. My bhindi masala had a nice spice blend without being overwhelming, and my onion kulcha was perfectly soft and fluffy. I'll get two meals out of all of it easily. Even on an early week night with lousy weather when I was surprised they were open (my first choice restaurant wasn't), they had a stack of takeout orders ready by 5:10 and were about half full by the time I left. The building is nothing fancy, but the people carry good cheer, and they know what they're doing.

Yelp
This is some of the best food that I have ever had!! The Chicken Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken, Tandoori Chicken are all amazing!!! Garlic Butter Naan was great!! The Lamb here is also amazing! I highly highly recommend India Oven! I am not from the area but when near I make the drive here because the food is so good. The Chicken and Lamb dishes here you must try!

Yelp
One of our go to places when in town from Alabama.Large portions so I recommend splitting a dish first time for a couple.Delicious, large portions, and service was great and consistent. Also tried a imported Indian beer.It was wonderful as well.So it was delicious food, cold beer, and great service. All at a great price for a working man ,and this is Your Working Man's Review.

Yelp
So I five of us went for lunch and shared our dishes family style. We were short on time. They were very efficient and got us in and out on time. The food was good except for three issues and they came as curly hairs in one of the dishes. I had read the reviews before we went and saw that someone else had this issue a while back. Evidently someone is not wearing a hair net and shedding badly.

Yelp
I think I reviewed this spot before and maybe left a higher rating. First, let me say that the food is excellent. Spice level was just as I ordered it. I was a bit confused when the Samosas Chat I ordered looked different than I envisioned. But I just couldn't see the Samosas due to the topping. It was an excellent dish. I ordered two appetizers and dessert this visit. In addition to Samosas Chat, I ordered the Tandori Sampler. Flavoring was excellent but a piece or two or the chicken was a little underdone and it only included one piece of shrimp. I did order Naan Bread which was good. And gulab Jamon for dessert. I would have likely rated the visit as a five but service was a little off. I'm still not sure who my waiter/waitress was as different people kept coming by. It felt a bit like I was being avoided. I will likely order from them again but I will probably just order take out.
google avatar

Julia C.

Yelp
Great food and good portions. Their naan is amazing - especially the garlic naan. They have a whole vegetarian section! I got the vegetable masala and it was great! Nice service too.
google avatar

Maisie M.

Yelp
Like the other reviews said, the food and service is absolutely incredible. We got the samosa chat, which was perfectly seasoned and had the right amount of cilantro. We also had the garlic naan which was both crispy and fluffy at the same time. Both the chicken tika masala and the chicken coconut curry were spiced beautifully and were very creamy. Beyond all of this the service was impeccable. Our server was attentive, kept our water filled, and was excited to chat about the food. One of the best restaurants I've been too.
google avatar

Curtis M.

Yelp
I will say that this is the only Indian food I've ever had so I can't compare it to anything else. I was skeptical at first, but it definitely surprised me. Give this place a try, it is good!
google avatar

Neeley H.

Yelp
Of all the meals I've had out in my life, this one ranks 3rd and if you take in account that with this one, I got to take home leftovers, it might move it up some more. 1. Muscles and clams in Amalfi 2. Oaxacan food in Santa Barbara 3. Indian at Indian Oven in Bowling Greeen, KY I would never have thought it to be true and something this good, was waiting in Bowling Green. The service was friendly and moderate paced. No need to rush good food. We were served a type of cracker like bread and condiments to start. I know one is cilantro and mint and the other is a spiced pepper. Then came our food. We chose a classic, Chicken Tikka Marsala and Butter Chicken. We added garlic Naan and an onion bread, oh and yogurt sauce. We chose medium heat and that was spicy enough for us. If you cannot do much spice, stick to mild. Everything was so delicious. You have to try it.

Easton T.

Yelp
Amazing food would definitely recommend. The service was also amazing super fast and the workers were super friendly.
google avatar

Kristi R.

Yelp
The food was AMAZING!! The portion size was HUGE. I had it doordashed it showed up hot and well packaged. Will MOST DEFINITELY order from here again.

James H.

Yelp
Hair is in everything here. Once I can forgive but TWICE is not okay. All within the same month. This place was highly recommended but I can't get over all the hair in the food. No telling what else.

Mark B.

Yelp
Amazing Indian food. The Pakora and samosa are excellent. Favorite dish here is the Chicken vindaloo and the owner and staff are always friendly and helpful. This is a must try for Bowling Green.

Dave B.

Yelp
Theyclose at 10. And I got there at 9:30 and they would not give me table service , they would only do takeout. Not very professional. Did not do takeout.
google avatar

Lora L.

Yelp
The best Indian food in Bowling Green and some of the best I have ever had anywhere. Naan is always hot and fresh and addictive. Love the variety of dishes.
google avatar

Mary S.

Yelp
Waitress was trying to flirt with my husband and was eying him the entire time. Skinny girl with nothing better to do with her time. Extremely unprofessional!! The food could've been made more time efficiency. Sat us next to someone who was hacking and coughing her lungs out and I heard her husband talking about how she had Covid. Definitely don't go here.
google avatar

Tiffany L.

Yelp
My first time ordering Indian food and butter chicken. It was rather bland. The naan was delicious though.
google avatar

Sasha O.

Yelp
Better than anywhere in all of BG. We need other world cuisine restaurants that are up to the same par. They set the standard for great food, good portions, excellent friendly prompt service, & consistently A+ quality. The only thing I really miss that they no longer do is the buffet. I miss being able to get a couple plates with a little bit of everything on them, instead of committing to just one entree. If you want a recommendation, try the mango lassi & the lamb rogan josh. I like mine India Hot or medium, but it's fine mild too. Really you can't go wrong here, everything I've ever tried has been the gold standard example of that dish.
google avatar

Mohammad A.

Yelp
Man oh man. Where do I start. I guess I'll start with the service. A1, down to earth amazing service. Very very kind staff. The menu was straightforward and it wasn't hard to pick what I wanted. The Chicken Tikka was out of this world. Smokey, tender, flavorful chicken. Masala sauce adds a nice touch to the rice. Couldn't have asked for better. This place always hits the spot. You'd be a fool to not try it out!
google avatar

J L.

Yelp
Great food. Really enjoyed the offerings and the garlic nan is awesome I keep going back for great India food. They will ensure the spice is how you like it.

Just A.

Yelp
If you're looking for Indian food in Bowling Green, this is definitely the place to go. The staff is very friendly and inviting. The food is excellent, I have been there a few times and have not had anything that was not good on the menu. The Nan is excellent as well and is the best that I've had since being deployed overseas and especially like the garlic Nan.

R F.

Yelp
They send you an order to a hotel room with no utensils and expect you to eat it anyway. They could care less. Never order from this place if you need a fork to eat it with
google avatar

Melissa R.

Yelp
The BEST Indian food! My husband & I had veggie pakora (not pictured), chicken soup, garlic naan, butter chicken, lamb curry & raita. Everything is amazing! Fast service too. Only bad thing is that my husband said the men's bathroom was disgusting.

Adeola F.

Yelp
This place has nice Indian food despite it being commercial. The taste was good and delicious. Really fast service.
google avatar

Charles D.

Yelp
We travel a lot and always look for good Indian food. Indian Oven had the best Indian food we have had in several years. Wife loved the Chicken Tikka Masala and it was fantastic. I have the Chicken Curry - which had a dlicious combination of spices. The Garlic Naan was cooked just right. The Basmati rice was as one would expect. Service was great, too, as they kept my iced tea refilled. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I just wish I ived closer than three hours away!
google avatar

Brian C.

Yelp
Shockingly good Indian food in...wait, Kentucky? What? Yep. I was very skeptical of all the rave reviews. It's like seeing a five-star two-hundred review French joint in Siberia. Ethnic restaurants around here notoriously pull punches to pander to the bland, deep-fried tastes of McAmerica. But not India Oven. If they say it's spicy, it's spicy. The sauces are rich, not "tomato soupy" but full of discernible vegetables, herbs and generous spices, served as they should be in simmering dishes, family style. The kofta is perfect in texture, in a subtly sweet sauce. The lamb curry, ordered "India Hot" was beautifully flavored and not overcooked...even the chicken breast in the Jungle Kabob was still succulent, almost unheard-of from a tandoor. They take care of their proteins, which warms my little sous cheffy heart almost as much as the curry! Just delicious! So why the missing star? The dining room was disastrously dirty, piles of dishes on nearly every table, and the staff seemed overwhelmed to the point of having no time left for their customers. Probably not their fault; this place was crazy busy...and I'll tell you one thing: with flavors like this in an otherwise pretty tasteless place, I'll certainly be back to let them try for a full five stars (like that means anything, really). Highly recommended!
google avatar

Rebecca M.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this restaurant when visiting WKU and had to try it out. Oh my word, it was the BEST INDIAN FOOD I've ever eaten . . . and I have eaten A LOT of Indian food in A LOT of cities. I know it feels trite to get the standard Chicken Tiki, but do it and you will want 2 orders of garlic naan, ridiculously delicious.

Andrew J.

Yelp
We just ate here and the food was amazing. It came out really fast (a reasonable amount of time), and the service was great. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We will definitely come here again!

Andrew L.

Yelp
Our family orders India Oven nearly every week to-go. Their online ordering is easy, pickup is easy, and the proportions are large. If you are unsure about what to order, the butter chicken is great and a good place to start. There are levels of heat, I like it India Hot and if you are accustomed to spicy food it isn't bad.
google avatar

Mandy P.

Yelp
Among our top 5 picks in BG.... Actually, as far as Indian cuisine we think that India oven is superior to every other Indian restaurant we've tried during our travels. We're so thankful it's here in our hometown!
google avatar

Lily H.

Yelp
Food was alright but the food was served almost 49 minutes after we ordered which took about 15 minutes because they were practically ignoring us. Would have been higher if they hadn't taken about an hour for service.
google avatar

David G.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite Indian restaurants anywhere. The service is phenomenal and the food is so fresh and tasty. It is so easy to drive by and miss it. It's in this strip mall next to a check cashing/payday lending store. You're seriously wondering if you picked the right place to eat as you pull up in the parking lot. But as soon as you go in you are immediately greeted and seated and you know...you just know it's gonna be great. My kids shared the chicken tikka masala (mild), I had the chicken karahi (hot), and my wife went with the lamb rogan josh (medium). I recommend every single one of them. The flavor is incredible, the heat levels are spot on, and the meal is cooked to perfection on every one of these dishes. In my opinion, the heat levels are exactly the way they describe them. Mild is mild, not bland, but a mild bit of spice. Hot is hot. Not on the floor crying hot, but you're gonna feel the spice. I really wish every restaurant worked like this. Have incredible, unique menu choices with fresh ingredients. Spice it up to the level the customer prefers. Give the customer excellent service. Isn't that what we all want when we dine out?
google avatar

Aswathi C.

Yelp
I mean I wish I could give 6 or a lot more stars. This place is a gem in this city for sure, and amazing compared to any other place I've tried as well. It's amazing food consistently. I've tried almost every vegetarian item in the menu. I order all curries in medium spicy and biryani as mild spicy. Exceptionally good is Kaju Khoya (just no other place can make it like this), Shahi paneer, paneer butter masala. Also exceptional is Dal Tadka. Chana masala is good. Gobi Manchurian, samosa items etc is ok. Paneer pakora is really good. Egg biryani mild is also exceptional. Gulab jamun is really good. Masala chai is ok. Overall just eat here if you pass by Bowling Green or live nearby. It's worth it..

Kelli K.

Yelp
India Oven is absolutely top notch. The service if you dine in is always wonderful, the folks working are always nice and food gets to you fast and hot! Even times when we've ordered on GrubHub, the food is fresh and hot and the portions are the exact same you get in the restaurant. One of my favorite places to eat in BG!
google avatar

Shelby B.

Yelp
Oh yea, this is the place to get your Indian fix. I am often disappointed in Indian places because it seems like they always have the same menu items wherever you go, but this place had a huge menu full of things I had never heard before. Everything we got here was fantastic and memorable. The portions are enormous and one could easily share an entree and not be hungry after. Although the prices are reasonable, the real gem of this place is the lunch buffet. $7 for unlimited magically delicious Indian food cannot be beat anywhere in Bowling Green. The place isn't that big so sometimes there is a wait on busy weekend nights, but it usually isn't too long.
google avatar

Swapnil B.

Yelp
I'm from Missouri, i have tried almost all the indian restaurants from STL, this one beats all of them. The taste, the service, everything is perfect. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Curry and the Goat Korma, both of then were . I don't travel a lot to Kentucky, but if I ever do next time, I'll stop by every single time!

Brianna E.

Yelp
This is a top notch Indian restaurant. I love all of the vegetarian options. The staff always has a smile on their face when they serve you. I eat here weekly. If you're on the fence, this place will not disappoint. Love love love the food.
google avatar

Paige K.

Yelp
My husband & I absolutely love this place! We have tried a few dishes from the menu but our fav is the lamb tikka masala. It is so good, even at different spice levels. I always get mild & I add a spoonful of his hot to mine and it is perfection. The garlic naan is fabulous as well! We drive 45 minutes almost weekly to pick up food from here! The service is great, they are very friendly and it is a welcoming environment. I am so glad that one day out of the blue we decided to try Indian food together. We will continue to come back.

Cedric S.

Yelp
I was in the area for work for a few months. This place is so good I came every wensday. It always cracked me up, the waiter that looks like Jackie Chan, would always ask "are you sure?" When I would order Indian spicy. If you like spice the Indian spicy is very tolerable. Excellent food, excellent service, excellent pricing. There is a reason they are always filled with customers.
