Here’s a New Indian Cocktail and Snack Spot on the Plateau | Eater Montreal

"Tucked into the Plateau on Mont-Royal, I found a tidy new Indian drinking-and-dining spot from experienced restaurateur Ajmer Sandhu that leans back toward classic Indian dishes while keeping a handful of Sandhu-esque naan pizzas (notably a jalfrezi vegetables with mozzarella and tomato and a cheese-free tandoori chicken–cilantro option). The menu otherwise features classic kormas, vindaloos, saags, and chana masalas, plus spiced, tandoor-cooked meats such as malai shrimp with cashews, paneer tikka, and four versions of chicken — bites that make it a solid 5 à 7 option. The cocktail program, overseen by barman Fidel Vasquez, skews hot‑weather friendly with plenty of rum, bright fruity flavors, and creative spicing (options like a chai masala cocktail and a mango-based rum drink, jijivisha). The 60‑seat space, remodeled from a former Starbucks, pairs tiling, exposed beams, plush banquettes, wicker chairs, a smattering of plant life, and lots of woody tones for an eclectic but cohesive vibe." - Tim Forster

We had such a wonderful dining experience at Indian Rosa Montreal. This restaurant perfectly combines authentic Indian flavors with a modern, stylish atmosphere, making it one of the best places for Indian vegetarian food in Montreal. The ambiance was warm, trendy, and inviting – great for a date night, family dinner, or group outing. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, helping us choose the best vegetarian options from the menu. We tried a selection of vegetarian appetizers, main dishes, refreshing drinks, and desserts. Every dish was flavorful, beautifully presented, and well-balanced in spices. The curries were rich and aromatic, the naan was fresh and soft, and the drinks complemented the meal perfectly. The desserts were an excellent way to end the evening, with authentic Indian flavors presented in a modern style.

We really enjoyed our visit! The food was excellent, especially the lamb and the traditional Indian desserts, which were absolutely delicious. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, making us feel comfortable throughout the evening. The atmosphere is more modern than traditional Indian, but still very beautiful, clean, and pleasant. We would definitely come back!

I had a pleasant experience at India Rosa. The food was delicious especially the appetizers which couldn't stop at just one. The main courses are delicious as well. There is a unique brunch menu offered on the weekends that definitely want to try next time. The location and ambiance is amazing with wonderful staff.

I am visiting from New York and had an incredible brunch experience. Amelys served the group I was with and the was the best server ever. Super nice, helpful, made accommodations to our orders and just a joy to be served by her. Very much looking forward to coming back for another meal to be served by Amelys. Merci, beaucoup!

We ordered the $75 “for two” menu and were very disappointed. Despite how appealing it looks in the photo, the portions are small (Naan bread helped fill us up a bit), the dishes overly sweet, and it’s far too expensive for what you get. Overall, you’re better off choosing any other item on the menu.

The food is amazing here. I had my dinner there two days straight. Every dish is delicious, but my personal favorite is the Fruits De Mar. Only one thing, I do think the Jasmine rice is slightly dry for my taste. Overall, I highly recommend everyone to try it.

This spot is always a hit, the food is consistent the service is great. Some of the best Indian food you’ll have. I’ve gone to both downtown and Mt Royal locations. The vibe downtown is much better for a larger group, I would come to MT Royal for a more intimate setting.
