"Tropical Weather in the Mountains at Indian Hot Springs Most travelers drive right through Idaho Springs on Interstate-70, but some stop to soak in Indian Hot Springs. You can get a pass for the pool or mud caves, or stay in one of their rooms and get a private pool as well. When I took my family for a night, our room was small, moist, and dumpy with carpet like AstroTurf, but we still had a fun family picnic on the floor, eating burgers from the Buffalo Restaurant and Bar, one of many good cantina-food options on Main Street. We still thought the room price of $93 was worth it, since it gave us access to the hot pool, enclosed in a greenhouse dome and home to a gorgeous tropical garden of banana plants and exotic trees and flowers. I’m also told it is the only hot springs in the state with a liquor license, so you can sip a cold one while hanging in the pool."

We stayed in the lodge. Comfortable bed, clean bathroom. No AC but they do provide a fan that was helpful. The pool is nice, can get crowded on weekends. We usually rent a tub, always nice but prefer it in wintertime. Last night even from 8-9pm, was a little warm for us. I enjoy the caves.hoping to do mud bath next time.

We absolutely loved our stay at the hot springs. We booked the king suite in the main building. The resort is in a very old, well maintained building and though it may not look fancy it was everything we needed - a wonderful comfy bed, full bathroom, sitting room and a little outdoor deck. We were steps from the outdoor pools and picnic tables where we enjoyed most of our meals in the crisp mountain air and were joined by a deer (or elk?) at breakfast. We were just down the hall from the front desk and pool entrance. We chose to stay during the week so we could come and go at the pool as we wanted. The staff were absolutely the best. We felt very well taken care of. While the resort doesn’t offer food, they do have a list of local eateries that offer 10% or 15% off meals when you show the room key. That was a nice touch. We cannot wait to come back. Thank you for an amazing visit.

We visited the mineral pool and the hot springs. Not sure where all the negative reviews come from because we had a great relaxing time! You can tell everything is older and a little out dated but it did not take away from our experience. My husband also enjoyed a cupping massage and was very happy. We will be back!

My partner and I LOVED this hot spring!! We loved the history behind it, and the staff was lovely. They were open to answering all of our random plant questions! Highly recommend, everyone is super sweet! It’s dated, but it has such a great charm to it and super clean! When we come back, you can bet we will be coming again!! Thank you for a relaxing time :) ***the pricing is understandable with inflation, and how much they need to do to maintain. We weren’t surprised, and understand keeping up with a historic site comes with a cost!

This is my second time here, and while the hot pool is incredibly relaxing, the staff is consistently bad and rude. During my morning visits one of the female employees was particularly mean (black hair) She acted like a child when customers asked legitimate questions about plants and products, and she even rolled her eyes as soon as they left. This isn't an isolated incident; it's happened twice now. My partner has had better experiences during evening visits, so I'll try coming later this weekend to see if there's a difference. Based on my morning experiences, the staff seriously needs an attitude adjustment. Sadly this is my first review…

Outdoor tubs under construction. If you are hoping for a relaxing day in the tub, it will be met with drills, saws, banging, and constant conversations of the workers. Call before reserving. Everyplace has to do construction but would be nice to know in advance before making my reservation. Then for the lady at the desk to try and blame it on me for not seeing the signs? What signs? was there a sign when I reserved? No. Or how about when I paid in advance? Nope. or how about when I checked in, nope again, just one that we didn’t see by the door with the other 10 signs. But loved when I mentioned this to the front desk worker, she threw the famous “we’ll have a nice day sir” filled with sarcasm just for saying my experience wasn’t great. No need to treat your customers like that for nothing more than voicing your experience. I won’t return here (local) just because of her! She had an attitude with everyone that stood in front of her.

Google
Great spot, but some things could be improved I love Indian Hot Springs—it’s a great place to relax and unwind. However, on my most recent visit, the experience was disrupted by children acting wild, splashing, and playing with outside toys like balls. Despite plenty of open space in the pool, they seemed to gravitate toward me, which made it difficult to fully enjoy the tranquil vibes. I feel like there should be a policy stating, “Have fun, but no splashing or outside toys, as they disturb other guests.” It’s frustrating to be in a peaceful moment and suddenly get splashed in the face or have a kid throwing a ball from outside the pool to another inside. The parents didn’t intervene, and unfortunately, neither did the staff. If you want to play catch, go outside—it’s not that hard. For the price ($30 isn’t cheap), I expect an environment that encourages relaxation. I’d love to see weekday hours reserved for adults only or at least a stricter emphasis on maintaining a calm atmosphere when it comes to kids and teens. I get that it’s a family-friendly spot, but there’s a difference between enjoying the space and making it unpleasant for others. Also, the dripping from the ceiling is jarring and detracts from the experience. I know it’s probably a tough fix, but it would be great if something could be done about it. At the very least, it’s an amusing challenge to find a spot that isn’t directly in the splash zone. Overall, I still love this place and would recommend it, but I do think a few small changes could make it even better.

Google
This is one of my favorite places near Denver CO. Why am I giving it such a low score you ask? Well, let me tell you all about it. I have been here three times and this is the first time I stayed here. A double queen beds room cost 300USD a night. For that price, one gets a very dated 1950s motel room. Even though we specified that we would like the room made over every day during our stay they didn't so no fresh towels, toiletries etc. Weekend pool passes are limited to just one time slot and the mudroom was not even included or even discounted. You can choose caves or pool but not both. No breakfast included, coffee only available in the morning. The pool prices were raised to much higher compared to 4 yrs ago too for those who are not staying. When I was checking out, I was asked how my stay was and when I said there were some issues the front desk person didn't even bother to asked any follow up questions. Am I disappointed? Very. The hot spring pool is unique and beautiful and I love it so much. Am I going to be back again? Probably not, and definitely not staying here ever again.

Yelp
This isn't an ideal hot springs spot but when you're in the mood to soak in a hot springs but don't want to drive over two hours for, this does the job. We got a dual ticket for a private soak and the pool. We came in early before the crowd and kids so it was relaxing for us. The place does an okay job at keeping things clean. The private rooms were nice but felt a little run down from the tub to the shower. It's a nice space for a private soak. The water can be hot. I believe it's like 107-110. The pool was really nice with all of the plants. I wish there were more benches at the wall of the pool to sit but it was nice. Showers were alright. The soap dispenser was empty. No hairdryers or anything like that so bring your own and bring your own toiletries to be safe. I can see if you had a stressful day and need a soak, this would be nice drive to. It's roughly 40 min away from Denver. If you come on a weekday, it'll be less chaotic. Because it's so close and affordable, many people come from Denver.

Yelp
This is my first time visiting the Indian Hot Springs. The pool area is lovely. There are many cool plants. I love that most of them are labeled with names. The hot springs in the caves are hot; they have different temperature levels. There is a room area in between to acclimate back to normal temperature if you need to step out of the caves. Remember that this is not a place where you can access the hot springs all day. You need to pick a time slot for the pool and then a time slot for the caves. If you want more than one-time slot, it will be $35 for the extra slot. For the adult pool area, the slot time is y for 2 hrs only for the same amount as the caves, which are much longer. It would help if you meticulously planned everything based on the time slot. Avoid coming on Sat-Sun to the pool area as it gets very crowded. Also, the pool has a powerful smell of chlorine. I would rather smell like rotten eggs from being in the caves because at least I know it is a natural hot springs. The remodel is looking great. There is an area with modern couches, making it feel cozy. The plants are a nice touch in the lounge area. It seems like a nice place to gather for good chats or board games when you're not soaking. The receptionist was so kind! Parking is free.

Yelp
Indian Hot Springs is a great little get away with tons to do. They have indoor and outdoor heated pools that are huge and always clean. I love the atrium feel of the indoor pool. In addition to the pools they have private spas that you can rent for an hour and they are wonderful to relax in. Lastly my favorite parts are the geothermal caves and the mud room. Both are unique experiences that take you to a real point of relaxation and meditation. Indian Springs are more rustic and authentic than some of the more expensive hot spring resorts and I would highly recommend you check them out.
google avatar

Katie P.

Yelp
$40 on the weekend will get you some much needed time in the hot springs! The atrium pool is filled with tropical plants and nice warm water to soak in. Perfect for some muscle healing after a day of skiing or just relaxing in the company of friends. Got there around 10am and had no trouble parking. Brought my bag into a cubby by the pool with no problems. The changing room/shower/bathroom can be a little cramped but I had my suit on under my clothes for a quick change. It's a nice hot spring for being only like an hour or two away from Denver.

Yelp
The facility looks older but still fairly clean. Has caves on one side and enclosed pool on the other. Both are fed by natural spring water. The caves are hot. Like smack in your face, sitting in a hot tub in the Mississippi summer hot. No phones allowed in there. It's gender specific since clothing are optional on weekdays. The pool is warm like bath water. The plants around the pool give a really tropical feel. It was packed for the holidays. Definitely recommend making reservations. There's a convenience store in the lobby for snacks/drinks. Pricing is fair. They offer a military discount. Took off a star since quite a few couples were making out and no staff members acted. We did enjoy it overall. It's super close to Denver which makes it a great option.

Deirdre S.

Yelp
Vintage spa experience -- ignore the haters, the place is delightful and cool. Beautiful pool area and hot individual pools in the caves. Revamped cedar jacuzzis outside. Totally great place.
google avatar

Lori B.

Yelp
I did not know what to expect when I went to this hot springs. The reviews have been mixed. The reason for 4 stars is they said you can't make reservations during peak days (holidays) so we didn't. When we were called up the assistant gave us the spiel about being in the caves. They have a water fountain downstairs so you can refill your bottles. We waited about an hour to do the caves - the caves were clean without any floating debris. It is very warm and humid. I would like for the tubs to be different temperatures but they are pretty much the same. It is very quiet and tranquil which relaxed me: I will return for another soak.

Yelp
After living this Centennial state for more than quarter century, I finally gave this place a try after being encouraged by my adult daughter. This was a Christmas gift from her so when she and I had a day set to do some soaking in mid-January of 2024, my excitement got so elevated. In the past (I would say this was 15+ years or so ago at least), some of my friends told me some negative things about this place where one of them stepped inside to look around (not so soak) and she described it as dirty with musty smell. There was also another friend of mine who said that the water temperature was not warm/hot enough; it was lukewarm at best. Maybe these not-so-great comments served as discouragement to not utilize this iconic hot springs in Colorado. Well, I am happy to tell you that none of the stuff my friends said years ago existed when we were there on Monday. It could be that those things existed but after being there for so many years, I'm pretty sure that the place had gone through some renovations/constructions to improve its facilities. The facilities were absolutely clean. I didn't see anything gross laying on the floors. There was no old/musty smell either. The only thing that bothered us was the number of people who were there; it was too busy for a Monday on a not so sunny day. They weren't disrespectful in any way but it was simply too crowded in that somewhat small geothermal cave. When my daughter was here in late November of 2023, there was hardly anybody besides her and her friend; they were able to go in and out of the cave at their ease. On Monday when we soaked, sometimes we had to wait for our turn to soak as each pool is pretty small. Thank goodness that this is not an outdoor hot springs so you'll never be cold not being able to soak in the warm water. By the way, the water temperature in each pool was pretty hot; there was certainly no lukewarm-ness there. Being in the hot water opened all of my pours and that released all the toxins out of my system as I perspired nonstop. And whatever the minerals that the water holds enhanced the circulations and reached the deepest parts of my body. If I did this soaking once a week, I think I'd live up to 150? Ha ha, wishful thinking!!! Anway, my going back to this place soon is a must. I haven't felt this healthy in a long time. We are lucky to have this place so close from Denver. P.S. - Clothing is optional during the weekdays (so you can go completely naked; clothing is mandatory on weekends though; and of course, there are men's and women's caves completely separate from each other.) I heard that the big swimsuit pool on a different is not so clean.) I may want to try other services like massages next time.

Yelp
I used to come here all the time and it was my happy place. Now, I'm not sure I'll return. I've had many instances of rude staff in the past, but I can get over that. Now there's many issues. I went recently with my boyfriend and we got a private bath. It was $60 for an hour, and they told us to come early. We got there early and they said it wasn't ready so we had to wait anyway. We checked back at the front desk at the time our appointment started and it still was not ready. Then, they never let us know when it was ready, even though we were sitting right by the front desk in clear sight, so we got in late and didn't get to enjoy our full hour because they were banging on the door when our time was up instead of letting us get what we paid for. They made it seem like it was our fault. We kept quiet but it was really disheartening and expensive for what you get considering the private bath isn't even that nice. I just went over the weekend for the caves with my mom for her birthday. It used to be around $25 and you could stay as long as you want and come back. This time it was $80 for two hours but you have to be showered and changed by the time is up so it's actually less than 2 hours. The front desk woman was really sweet, so that was a nice change. But she gave us the whole run down on being respectful and quiet but when we got down there, it was a zoo. The entire locker room was jam packed and we couldn't even change into our bathing suits when we got in there which further cut into our time. It was also LOUD. Nobody follows the quiet rule. My mom went to the bathroom to change since there was no room in the locker room and some lady yelled at her and said she couldn't change in there. When we finally got into the caves, the pools were filled and there was no room for us. Everyone was talking loudly and it wasn't relaxing at all. Very expensive for what you get, and no one is monitoring that people are following the rules. It's very disheartening when you leave some where and feel like your money has been stolen from you. I don't think the caves are worth $40 for what you get. I also think they overbook the reservations to make more money. It used to be so zen and nice, and now it just sucks. :( I've had many issues here, but for the sake of length, these two are enough to give you an idea. If you're considering coming here, especially on a weekend, I'd say hard PASS!!!

Yelp
The pool area was fun and very warm. I stayed there the whole time and a friend did the caves. There a lot of positive feedback on the caves and how hot they were. The staff was very helpful and answered all the questions. They have plenty of lockers, some showers, bathrooms, and changing rooms by the pool. There was a lot of availability parking outside and they even had overnight rooms you could get.

Yelp
I spent my birthday here 11/21/24 and it was just the best. I had a great massage with Joel then soaked and soaked in the big pool the then the caves. I haven't slept that good for a really long time! Thank you new owners for taking this gem on and making it better and better each day!! Can't wait to come back!!!

Yelp
Overall, not a great experience. The aesthetic is probably the only thing keeping this place in business, with the indoor plant terrarium. Other than that, it's fairly subpar in my opinion. The pool has hair floating around and cloudy water, and overall just not super clean/hygienic feeling. Not sure if it's mentioned on the website, (because I didn't know prior to going), but this is apparently a well known swingers spot. So lots of couples all over each other in the water. This place has lots of opportunity for improvement and could be great, but for right now, I probably won't be going back for the foreseeable future.
google avatar

Ed D.

Yelp
We booked one of the private tubs for an hour and I'm not sure what I was expecting but definitely not something i would do again. We walked down thru the hallway and honestly gave like brothel kind of vibes. It was old and dungeon looking and when we got into our private tub room, it was the same feeling. The water felt good but the aesthetic was just not very appealing. Plus it was so hot...I mean yes I know it's a hot spring but having the door closed for an hour just made it super hot like you were in a sauna for an hour and that's way too long to be in a sauna. Anyways I've been to other much nicer hot springs so I'll stick to those. Too bad because this is the closest to Denver but definitely not worth going.
google avatar

Yelp
This was my first time at the Indian hot springs and I had a great time! The front desk was very knowledgeable and helpful we got a day pass for the caves and a 1hr reservation for the private outdoor hot tub. I enjoyed that the caves are gender specific and there is a cool down area right outside the cave in between the locker room very relaxing and comfortable place. Unfortunately the big pool closed right when we arrived not sure why but I'm sure it was for safety reasons I'm not upset. Either way great experience and I will be visiting again :)

Yelp
Horrible customer service. Change in policy and rude and pushy. Virginia is as so rude and disrespectful. Hot springs are supposed to be relaxing, obviously she doesn't care. Additionally, previously purchased a punch card and they changed policy with no communication. Not to mention the dirty panties on the floor. Lots of hot springs options what are WAY better. RUN do not walk away from visiting, save your money.
google avatar

Savanna R.

Yelp
I truly cannot believe this is considered a hot spring, as the water was warm chlorine water. There is NO solitude to this whatsoever. There are kids splashing, parents throwing them around. It's truly a glorified YMCA with some plants. The price is INSANELY high. The women's locker room is tiny, and gross. Everyone is packed like sardines in there. If you are looking for a day of solitude - this is definitely not the place. The caves were neat. They are super hot, which some people may enjoy (I personally do not), but it would be a good experience if you do. The downside is, it's separated by gender.

Nicole L.

Yelp
Went up to the hot springs and saw that there was a lot of people, we had no issue going to the waitlist it was a two hour wait which again was no issue we hung out around the area and came back in two hours only to find out that the guy who was on the front didn't even put our information on the waitlist so we were quoted another two hours.
google avatar

Caroline Y.

Yelp
This hot spring was just OK. We came a couple days after Christmas, and the pool was extremely crowded with adults and children. The children were splashing while the adults were trying to have a relaxing time. It was just not the vibe. There were folks doing construction in the main pool and you could hear power saws. We were expecting a more relaxing, spa-like experience. Also, the locker rooms were extremely small. There was hardly any privacy while changing. I was super close to strangers, and two of the three showers had hot water. I'd recommend driving further out from Denver to experience the good Hot Springs.

J R.

Yelp
Incredibly rude staff. They oversell these spaces out way too much to the point of being uncomfortable. Expect to share each of the small pools in the women's cave with at least 5/6 other women when they comfortably fit maybe 4 people. You also will be yelled at for talking at all, wildly not worth it. The space is cool ish but really ran very poorly. The staff and one of the rude patrons really ruined this experience, it's worth driving further for something better.

Yelp
I recently had a wonderful experience at the Indian Hot Springs. It was a relaxing and tropical getaway that felt remote and peaceful. The service provided by the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, making our visit even more enjoyable. The price we paid was just right for what we had chosen - the mineral pool. It was the perfect spot to unwind and relax. I was impressed with the range of options available at the hot springs, including private jacuzzis and walk-in tubs. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to try the mud room in the pool area, but it definitely caught my interest. For those looking for accommodation, the resort and lodge offer different options. The lodge provides a more modern stay, while the resort gives you a true getaway experience. This was my first visit, and I left feeling incredibly relaxed. Before leaving, we couldn't resist stopping by the gift shop to pick up some Colorado-swag. I absolutely adore anything that says "Colorado" on it. Next time I visit, I plan on booking a room and exploring the caves. That sounds like a unique and exciting experience. Oh, and to add to the allure, clothing is optional in the caves from Monday to Thursday. If you're feeling adventurous, it might be worth trying! Overall, I highly recommend the Indian Hot Springs for a relaxing and rejuvenating getaway. The range of amenities, friendly service, and beautiful surroundings make it a top destination.

Yelp
Loved this place! My 3 girl friends and I went to Denver on a girls trip and we looked up what to do in this place was a top suggestion. I'm so glad we went and enjoyed the natural hot springs. I definitely didn't expect for how humid it would be in the caves, but you are able to go in and out as you please and there are benches and chairs for you to rest on directly outside of the caves. When it got too hot, many people just took a cold shower (there are two provided right outside of the caves.) Every other person that was there was so kind & we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I can't wait to go back on my next trip to Denver!

Yelp
I had such a terrible experience with Indian Hot Springs' customer service that I'm writing this review even though I never actually stepped foot inside. I booked a spa appointment for my husband's birthday weekend in early June in March 2024. It took two weeks to get in touch with anyone to book, despite leaving voicemails, trying to book online, and sending emails. Less than a month before our reservation, Annie, the spa manager, called to cancel because they'd be closed for renovations. Apparently, I shouldn't have been able to book online, but I did it over the phone with an actual employee! Disappointing, but we pushed the reservation back by two weeks. Two weeks later, I received a text from a different employee saying they noticed "Curt" (not my husband's name) and I had identical appointments and asked whether we'd want a couples massage. I confirmed a couples massage when I made the original reservation and again when we were rebooked! At this point, I wondered, "Is it ME??" So, I researched others' experiences. My experience and the numerous bad reviews I found prompted me to cancel. It's been two weeks since then, and I still haven't received my refund despite following up twice and waiting the maximum number of days they stated for a refund. I decided to dispute the charge because I can't deal with them anymore. Indian Hot Springs failed at every step of the customer service process. I booked at the Keystone Lodge and Spa instead, and they have been wonderful. Don't waste your time or money at Indian Hot Springs.

Yelp
I would say 3.5 but I'll round up to 4 for kind service and overall a good crowd that were there. We did the hot spring caves, they were nice definitely VERY hot tho which were a bit too hot for my 18 year old cousin however my wife and I enjoyed them. We also did the pool which was very warm as well. I think it was a bit too pricey for what was there but it was a good experience. I wouldn't go on a weekend again but I may go again during the weekdays since it's a bit cheaper.

Yelp
My husband and I came here after skiing in Echo Mountain. They maybe only 30 mins away from each other. It's very convenient. These hot springs is absolutely wonderful experience for us not only to get away but also absolutely relaxed. Amazing staff, clean facility, very cool jacuzzi caves, fun mud bath, wonderful indoor tropical pool. Last but not least, the water is mineral from under the ground. It's so hot and so healthy for my body. My body especially the muscles were so tight and sore from 6-hours-ski. In this hot springs my whole body was fully relaxed. I slept like a babe that night. The best sleep I ever had in my life. I would definitely recommend this if you are wanting go come with friends or family. and bring swimsuits and hair dryer.

Yelp
We didn't stay at the resort, we just got the day pass for the hot springs and the pool. It is pricey in my opinion and not worth getting the combo in my opinion. I hadn't realized that the hot springs were separate for men and women because it's bathing suit optional which was kind of a bummer because I was hoping to be able to go with my husband. We still tried it and I have to say it was very relaxing. The temperature of the water is on the hotter side which was fine for me. The pool is warm and family friendly.

Elena C.

Yelp
2 Sundays In a row we could not get in due to new change in their policies. Now Sundays and Saturdays, after 7 it is adults only( ewwwwe)for the pool. First Sunday we went in mountains and wanted to stop for couple h at the pool and couldn't because we were told pool will close for families and will be open for adults only( wonder is is some kind of upside down pineapple event!!!). The next Sunday we got there, we were told there is a waiting list, 1-2 h and offered to sign up. On the screen real time we could see the pool was not that crowded. When I asked if there is a reservation system, they said is first come first served. 2 ruined Sundays, probably won't consider this place in the future

Rachel F.

Yelp
Love this place! It's a historical building that is constantly improving. The pool is located inside a tropical greenhouse. The rooms are affordable and clean. The women's caves area updates are beautiful.

Yelp
2 1/2 is the actual average rating and I would agree. I rounded up to 3 with this review. We came to this location from the Denver area for my birthday. I was extremely excited about staying the night and enjoying the hot springs. The main reason this review did not meet 5 of 5 stars was the customer service we received from Mia upon arrival. We found her to be aggressive, condescending, unhappy, and unprofessional at her job. If she was the host of a restaurant, we would have gone to another restaurant. From her initial unfriendly greeting to her interactions while getting checked in, both my wife and I were left with the impression of rude and horrible customer service. If proper upper management wants to contact me for further information, I'm happy to provide more details. While the customer service from Mia and a couple other employees was lackluster, we did find that 2/3 of the staff was friendly and helpful. Crazy how our room was not as impressive after a ugly check in interaction. The room was decent and did the job. Housekeeping seemed nice and friendly. Plenty of parking upon arrival. Beautiful neighborhood and area of Colorado. Fair prices. Our favorite part of this birthday trip was the indoor pool hot spring. We enjoyed relaxation time on our first night in town. The special feature of sharing the pool spring was all of the plants surrounding the pool. They played peaceful relaxing music. This experience was magical and the employee working the basement pool area was friendly and helpful. On our second day, we enjoyed a personal hot spring room. We were less impressed with this feature. The temperature was nice at 106 here. You are basically sitting on the floor. They have a shower in the personal rooms. Our room had the handle broken on the hot water valve of room 4. So we never really used the shower as a result of cold water only coming out. The soap was also out within that room as well. It would have been better to have another day at the community pool. Or to have tried a different option, such as the caves. We stopped by the gift shop and spoke with a friendly employee named Lisa. We purchased a beautiful ring from the jewelry collection. Had we have been greeted by Lisa upon arrival, this would be a 5 star review. Good workers may be hard to find, but a good leader could make a world of a difference with the experiences of a majority of visitors and guests. Someone should pay close attention to the complacency of the overall staff at check in to make sure they are providing a good representation of the company.

Yelp
So I went with fairly low expectations. I heard the place was kind of a dive but I had never been so used my back pain as a reason to go on Christmas. There were more people than I expected but it is a hotel too. The staff was meh.... Neither nice or rude but she did make me feel like my questions were a hassle. The changing rooms were small and crowded because of the size. There are showers available as well but we didn't use them. I think there was 8 of us in there and it felt crowded. This is an old building and not a 5 star hotel so I didn't expect the pinnacle of luxury either. The pool is about 5 feet deep and about bath water temperature. There are tropical plants and because of the condensation water drips on your head from time to time. It is relaxing to say the least. I would love to go back and experience either the mud or a private bath. I just don't know when I will be able to

Yelp
I have never written a poor review, but can't help but do so now. I also had a terrible experience with Indian Hot Springs' customer service. I'll start by saying we chose this location because we love the hot spring concept. Also, we respect the fact that the building is 100 years old, and understand that everything isn't working like a brand new hotel. We reserved the Resort Suite on the first floor of the main building. During our two-night/three-day stay, we did not request room service, but did ask for clean towels and certainly expected hot water for a shower. We had neither. After returning home, I sent two emails and left two voice messages, asking that management contact me to discuss what happened. I've not received a response back; only a final bill, charging me in full. Very disappointing.

Yelp
I enjoyed this place. Planning ahead is definitely the way to go. Staff are friendly and pool is amazing. The mud room was fun. There's a little cafe on site with a few things to choose from, there's a lounge area to hang out in. Super close to town.

Yelp
At first, the front desk (Shanah) was helpful. After deciding we were going to stay another night, the front desk told us we can't stay there and have to pay for a pet cleaning fee. I told them they could check my vehicle and wouldn't find one dog / pet hair. We didn't have an animal. After speaking with the manager, they stated it was because there was makeup on the pillow case. While i understand this may be an inconvenience for house keeping, I feel it was handled horribly. I even offered to go buy stain remover. Instead they declined our business and said we aren't allowed to stay.

Yelp
I've been a fairly regular customer for 30 years. I've always liked the funky vibe and old time feel. Unfortunately, they're going for a substantially upscale price, without a corresponding improvement in the facility or service. Same caves, now $40 for a two hour session. The pool is a separate $35 charge. The only upside is that the caves were nearly vacant, hence very peaceful. Super disappointed, and not sure when I'll go back.

Yelp
I researched for the nearest hot springs to where we were staying. I saw that Indian Hot Springs was about 45 minutes away, so I booked 3 appointments in advance for massages and access to the thermal caves. A few days before my appointment, Indian Hot Springs contacted me via text to let me know that the caves were not available. I was advised to do an hour private bath instead, so I asked to do the private bath before the massage appointments. The person texting me said we could be slotted for a private bath at 11:45, which would give us a 15 minutes before our 1pm massages. At the time of check-in, the staff member who helped me was confused about the scheduling. She saw the 1pm massage appointments, but there was no record of the private bath. I showed her the text exchange, so she went ahead and got me a key to the private bath. Luckily there was one even available. The private bath wasn't as great as expected. The room was small and almost felt claustrophobic. Because the bath didn't have much ventilation, the heat from bath was a bit overwhelming. We decided to bounce out of the private bath after 10 minutes and spend the rest of the time at the public pool. We didn't know that we needed wristbands to access the pool until I happened to notice a sign saying that wristbands were required. I'm surprised that the front desk didn't give them to us at first since our appointments granted us access to the pool all day. The pool was lovely though. The water was nicely warm, and I loved the lush greenery around. It gave the appearance of being outdoor, but the pool was technically indoor. If there was a way to separate my rating for my massage therapist, Ray, I would give him a 5-star. I don't mind getting male massage therapists but don't get them often. I thought he was so courteous and professional. He applied really the perfect amount of pressure and really listened to what work I needed on my neck/shoulders, hips, and legs.

Yelp
Just got home from a very quick get a way with my best friend. We LOVED the town and all the yummy food around the hot springs. We stayed at the inn and to say the least we were desperate to come home and shower in our own showers to get the "yuck" off of us. Dirty sheets, uncomfortable HOT, broken window, old, and tiny. I really did enjoy the caves because the water is incredible HOT and it's peaceful down there. The big pool is like a hotel pool and is so loud you can't think straight and that's if you could get past the moldy smell. To top it all off the staff for the most part where very rude especially the older lady that literally kick us out of the pool at 8:52 jumped in her car and drove away. I would recommend driving just a little more and find a beautiful relaxing hot springs experience that is all over this state but, stop by beau Jo's for the BEST pizza!!!

Yelp
I had a wonderful experience at Indian Hot Springs. My favorite part was the cave soak; it was so relaxing, it felt like I was in another world (in the best way). I wasn't able to visit the main mineral pool or club mud, but I was excited to and will likely be back to enjoy a bit more of what they have to offer. This isn't a luxury resort, but the staff is very friendly and the facility is clean. Definitely a great space to de-stress and take care of yourself.

Yelp
I have come to Indian Springs for years and it has a been a place of solitude, I have brought friends and love soaking in the caves because it provides a place of peace for me amongst the craziness of my work week. I drive in from Denver when I come and have usually had a great experience. Today however there was a TON of chlorine in the pools in the caves and it was irritating my skin and eyes - I have never experienced this kind of irritation while soaking & I have been to Orvis, Strawberry, Iron Mountain, and Mt. Princeton. And up until now, i had not had this experience here either. That was not the worse part of my experience though - further, in the caves and in the relaxation space people were LOUD. People were talking on their phones on speaker & their voice level was much like being at a sporting event. In caves talking above a whisper created a loud echo. All is super disappointing as the renovations are nice, but for those of us that have been coming regularly for years - apparently it is not for us. It is to attract large crowds. And the renovations are still not nice enough to counter such a negative experience I had today. Nor do the renovations rival other hot spring locations I have been to. But I did not come here for the ambiance anyway - I would come for solitude. Also, when my friend calmly went to bring awareness to the staff member at the desk, who identified themselves as a manager (blond woman wearing glasses).... My friend was met with major attitude and was told "we are getting bigger" and "it is a Saturday" and offered no sense of compassion not solution. Not once in our hour down there trying to tolerate the loud noise and chlorine did anyone come down to try to regulate the space or remind people that the caves are a quiet zone. (Yet the have fancy new signs that display the etiquette). I will not refer anyone here any further.

Yelp
My favorite hidden gem. I love this place with my whole heart. So much character and so relaxing to float in the greenhouse.

Yelp
New prices are too high. Had to wait to get in but most people are just sitting in the edge of the pool because it is too hot We used to love going there but not any more

Yelp
I was in town for an expo and decided to try out something cool like this hot spring. I tried out the thermal cave for a total of $35, including towel and locker. This place is not perfect and it's not a luxury experience, it's very budget, but if you go in with the right expectation you'll like it. The thermal cave is an actual freaking dark underground cave where you have three tubs of super hot burning water, they start at 110F. Each has different temperatures depending on the day, it's all natural spring water with healing properties, how cool! My strategy was to start with a shower, then warm up by sitting down for a few minutes in sauna-like conditions, go into bath for 5 mins, and rest outside for 10 mins. Repeat 3-4 times. Then take a cold shower. You will feel like a God coming out if you do this. Your entire day will be energized (given you have had good sleep and recovery). Hydrate during and after this, as you'll dehydrate fast. And don't forget to drink electrolytes after to avoid headache and elevation sickness. All in all, I really enjoyed the experience. I wish the place was a little nicer but the service was nice and there's also mud application, a cool pool, jacuzzi's outside, and massages available.

Yelp
The place definitely needs to either be torn down or remodeled. The dressing rooms and showers were old as hell and not great. We did the pool for $25pp and it was a good one time experience. Not smelly, not hot and overall relaxing despite the weekend crowds.

Yelp
I've been going to Indian Hot Springs for over 20 years & it's always been OK. This year, HOLY WOW! We just spent 2 nights & 3 days there & didn't want to leave! So many upgrades, I'm astounded!!! The entire upstairs lobby area has been totally remodeled to a GORGEOUS sitting, dining area lounge with amazing leather couches, high end tables & chairs and beautiful lighting throughout. That entire area was unusable for the last 20 years & largely used as messy storage one could see through the glass doors. The underground, gender-specific caves have also been hugely upgraded with amazing new floor & wall/ stone tile, new bathroom fixtures, & the sauna area is a serene dream with new wooden beds, beautiful lighting, giving off true meditation vibes The old tiki hut next to the pool that used to just be an eyesore of more storage has been transformed into a mini greenhouse with a large fish tank & is now covered in pretty fairy lights! I could say more but there's not enough time. I'm truly impressed & I can't wait to bring all of my friends here, now.

Yelp
Unfortunately the new ownership just doesn't get it. The website is not clear, they say adults are 3 and over. The booking site is horrible and unclear. If you book a stay, now have to pay for caves. So many things to say but not enough time to write. The poor staff is dealing with so many complaints, I feel sorry for them that the new ownership has hung them out to dry. We will try this springs again in 6 months or so to give the new ownership a chance to get it since we have always liked the place but as of right now, do not recommend due to the new ownership unclear expectations.

Yelp
We enjoyed our visit however our expectation for what the big pool would be were off. I'm willing to shoulder some of the blame for that but nonetheless I think some of my issue is well founded. You know when you go into a hotel pool area during a busy weekend and it's a rambunctious scene. That is typical and expected for hotel pools, not so much hot spring pools. Upon going to a hot spring or even a hot spring bath house you expect something in the vein of rest and relaxation. Tranquility is a word that often comes to mind. Sadly, what we walked in to was more akin to a hotel pool than a hot spring bath house. There were classic antics of a hotel pool with a high amount of noise and then upon entering the pool I found myself in a place more reminiscent of a bath that's gone lukewarm indicating it's time to get out rather than the tinge of a hot springs pool that offers therapeutic relief. The pool is advertised to be around 100 degrees and I can confidently say (with the testament of those also there) that is was closer to 85 degrees. I will say there is a corner of warmth where the spring water is pumped in and it comes out in typical hot spring temperature fashion. But sadly this is the only place it comes in and I say it is not enough. I think there should be several hot spots in this pool where spring water is Introduced. Outside of this corner you don't get a hot springs experience, you get a warm pool at the end of summer experience. With this being the only input of actual hot springs it calls for a rotating use of the hot spot to allow everyone a chance at it. Now they offer more traditional hot springs experiences including cave hot springs and jacuzzis but they were too rich for our budget for this experience. For two people it would've been around $60+ if memory serves me right. The $38 spent for our hotel pool experience given the circumstances was not worth the money but the other options may be worth the cost. I can't say as I didn't partake. Fair warning the caves are clothing optional and gender specific so if you're not ready to possibly see people in all their glory you may want to go the jacuzzi route. It's disappointing to give 3 stars but that honestly describes our experience and if you have ever read my reviews you know I'm a double dip reviewer meaning I would return to try it again because maybe our experience was fluke. I believe it's only fair. In light of that a double dip may not happen at this time given our current situation but I hope I've provided some good insight into what you may be walking in to and I urge you to go try it for yourself.

Yelp
IHS is located only an hour away from Denver. The pricing a little confusing because each area is a different ticket. The main pool area is indoors with lots of trees and open seating. Those who prefer outdoors need to choose the jacuzzi. The most popular is caves it's located in the basement with high temperature water so you would not be able to stay long. The facility is over 100 years old so don't expect resort style cleanliness. The staff was friendly and plenty of parking was easy to find from Idaho springs. The caves get four stars from me. If you want the full hot springs experience drive 3 hours to Glenwood springs.

Yelp
Unfortunately, it's trending down hill. I've been coming here for over a year - definitely not a multi-year regular - but in the last few months, I've been getting turned off. I understand there is new ownership, but it seems like the priority is to make money with higher volumes of people, rather than creating a relaxing experience. Here are the noticeable differences in the last year: - Way more people, to the point where there is a ton of hair swimming around in the water , the water is cloudy, and it's loud - in the pool and in the caves. I've come out of the water with clumps of hair on my body. - Staff seems irrate and unresponsive; I get it, more people means more BS to deal with, however some of the attitudes at the front desk are off-putting. Recently I came up to ask someone to formally come down to the caves and ask people to keep it down - after asking those people myself with no results - and nothing happened for the remainder of the time I was there (somewhere between 45-60 minutes). - Pricing has gone up with unfavorable terms. I understand the costs of everything are going up, but two things make the new policies a detractor. 1) Volume packages are only available to locals in two counties, for which ID verification is required. This is unfortunate as I have a 45 minute drive each direction - I would hope I would get some sort of perk to come back frequently, as I am spending time and gas to get there. My frequency of visit is going to go down because of this, which is bad for businesses as 60% of revenue typically comes from repeat customers. This policy is going to drive people away who live further away. And 2) They were charging full prices all of March (week days included) because of spring break, but this was not publicized (at least no where it was easy to find), so I got a snarky response from the front desk when I came in and unknowingly asked to use my remaining punch passes. Definitely didn't feel good to be talked down to. My suspicion is there are new marketing efforts with new leadership, which is driving more attendance. The pricing is accessible enough that high volumes of people show up, but not high enough to create a balanced relaxing experience while maintaining profits. And the locals only package is just odd. Create another tier for Colorado/Denver residents. It's illogical not to offer something like that for anyone who chooses to frequent the springs. It's unfortunate because this hot spring is the closest to Denver, and felt a little like a best kept secret for a while. And a visit to the hot springs was a nice relaxation experience I could enjoy during the week. Now, it's a gamble, with a strong probability of lots of people, noise, gross water, and frustrated staff. My intention with this review is to share feedback and hopefully inspire some change. I would pay more for a more peaceful space. Do with that what you will.

Yelp
Last time I visited going into the caves made me extremely sick. I hadn't felt that sick ever before. I searched online and found that other people had gotten sick as well. It's unfortunate because I used to love this place. I hope they've fixed the issue.

Yelp
The mud room was closed and we didn't find out until the week before we got there only because I checked the website, it wasn't closed when we made our reservation. So that was disappointing. Also, the caves are gender specific which was not clear from the website. So don't go thinking you're going to be in the cave at night with your man or woman. You'll be going into separate caves separate entrances. Also disappointing. We stayed 2 nights and the maid never came to clean the room or refresh our towels . The soaking pool was nice but there were kids jumping around like it was a daytime pool in the middle of summer .
