Indian Roti Kitchen

I love this place! Their roti are fresh, piping HOT, spicy, full of flavor and pretty generous with the amount of meat. Couldn't argue with the price either. I keep coming back and always suggest it to friends who want a quick bite to eat out.

Their curries wrapped in a roti are delicious and unique. Tried the lamb saag curry roti and the roti was generously filled with lots of flavourful lamb meat curry filling. The portion is great and you will be full like from a feast. The butter chicken on rice was just average, the curry lacked flavour and the curry to rice ratio was a lot more lukewarm rice compared to scant curry on top, so if you come here, stick with the roti and not the rice dishes based on our experience.

Oh my gosh, the photos do not do the food justice! Their rotis are so good!!! Take out only, too bad there's no dine in.

A 4.5 overall. Roti was very good and with a wide selection of vegetarian to meat options, ranging from $12-$17. This is a takeout spot mainly. Food is made piping hot. Generous portion that can be split into two meals. There are 6 different spice levels and medium was quite spicy and has quite a kick for a medium tolerant spiced person. Flavourful and with a good ratio of meat to vegetables, a spot worth checking out when in the mood for an Indian roti.

I've been going here since it was established years ago. The prices are fantastic; they haven't changed much, even though costs have increased. The portions are plentiful, filling, and delicious. The owner is very friendly and remembers what you order. Funny enough, I have eaten the same thing for years. It's my Friday night go-to! Best little neighborhood hotspot!

Delicious!!! I never knew this style of roti existed before...I love Indian food and this food is amazing, their curries are made very well, not overly creamy, not oily, the roti texture is phenomenal! The food is not too salty ..the spice is bang on as what spice levels should be. Medium was a nice level of spice while being able to taste the food. Definitely coming back for more. Also an added plus, the food prices are amazing! Considering a city where everything is inflated, their prices are incredible.

One of my go-to spots for takeout in Cambie village! The roti itself is super fresh and a great texture. The fillings themselves are also really good and packed in there. It always seems like you’re getting great value when you go here. The butter chicken and Korma rotis are my favorites - pakoras are also a nice side.

Food was great. Quantity was also good. They serve curry in unique wrap styles. We ordered samosa and papri chat and both tasted good. However, the papri chat doesn't look so nice. Vegetarian biryani was good but they give curd in very small container (chatni container) which disappointed me. Wraps become soggy within some time after serving because of the curry. Very less sitting space.

Phenom.com!! I love this place and have been going for years! I remember when it used to have sit in tables but now it's definitely a to-go operation. And omg they never miss! I've ordered from this place so many times and all their rotis have been so flavourful. Spice factor is on point and actually spicy! The roti I get the most is the butter chicken roti and the sauce is amazing, the chicken is juicy and the roti comes piping hot even when delivered by uber. Highly recommend you checks it out! It's a staple in Van.

Got the lamb saag and butter chicken. Not good, tasted off. Have ordered twice before; the second time wasn't good either so this was my third time (was giving it another chance) won't order again. Extra points as Portions are good and food arrived piping hot.

My go to place for comfort Indian food! They have naan turn overs which you don't find in Vancouver otherwise. It is located close to West Broadway station so a very convenient location. They don't have a dine-in place, it's mostly take out. They also don't deliver so you would have to call in to place an order for pick up. They usually take 15-20mins to prepare your order but this can vary based on the day and how big your order is. I have ordered ample number of times from here and they have never gotten my order wrong and have always been on time. Best part is that they have vegetarian and nonvegetarian options!! Their menu is very vast, my favourites are - 1. Dal Pakora Roti: it's simple but delicious. It's basically lentils wrapped in a naan that makes for the perfect meal on a rainy day. 2. Paneer Tikka Roti: cottage cheese with Indian spices baked to goodness, can't go wrong with that! (bit on the spicer side though) 3. Chicken Madras Roti: I'm a big fan of south Indian spices so this one is my go-to! It has a strong coconut flavour with amazing Indian spices. You can ask them to make it as spicy or not as your like. Would highly recommend this unique hole in the wall :)

If you want an experience, go for the v.v. (very, very) spicy vindaloo. The lamb is my go-to.

It's a takeout-only Indian restaurant specializing in curries wrapped in a roti. This format is very unique and space-efficient, but also a delicious different way to enjoy curry. You can also get typical Indian snacks and dishes with rice instead of roti. You can add in additional proteins or veggies to your dish for an additional cost. I found it easy to use their website to order, and my order was ready at just about the exact estimated time that they gave me. I ordered the baingan bhurtha roti with added paneer and spinach for something different. The roti portion was huge and well worth the cost even with the fees from my add-ons. I ate the whole roti for fear that it wouldn't keep well but saved some of the curry for the next day. The roti itself was very good - tender but not tough, didn't get soggy from the curry. The curry also was flavourful. It was less oily than most restaurant-style Indian food which I appreciated. The paneer and spinach add-ons worked well, I would recommend trying it with these if you don't mind spending a little extra. I ordered medium spice and it was actually a little milder than I expected on day 1, but the heat was more intense on day 2. It was extremely hot when they gave it to me. This is great if you have a long trip home before you can eat it, but I took it to the park by City Hall which is just a few minutes' walk, so I had to tear open the roti and let it vent for quite a while before it was a bearable temperature to eat. I also got a mango lassi. This actually surprised me with how good it was. I could really taste the fresh mango! This was the thick kind of lassi that's best to drink with a straw. Although it is, again, takeout-only, the staff was very nice, and there are chairs that you can sit in if you need to wait.

Absolutely delicious! I am a regular customer here and it is such a hidden gem. The woman that works here is so kind and they always deliver the best (unique) comfort meals. The Saag Paneer is my very favourite and the Shahi Paneer is also amazing. Highly recommend to anyone!

Great takeout food, travels well and stays hot. Big portions (I'm good with half of the roti dish) Always get roti wrapped around tasty filling - have tried lots of them and faves are chicken korma, chicken curry, shahi paneer, vegetable korma (has paneer!) and dahl pakora, A friend introduced me to this place when i was pregnant, and now my 9 year old asks regularly for it - always the saag paneer roti.

Eating the saag chicken rice right now. Nice flavour, I asked for very mild and it is perfect. Chicken is moist. Love the sauce over the basmati rice. The Ras Malai is good, definitely order it!!!

Holy moly, was this ever a delicious discovery! Unfortunately, it is takeout only, but it is so good, it is worth the hassle. Unlike most lamb curries I've had, this was moist, succulent lamb. And I really appreciated being able to order non-spicy as my stomach can no longer handle peppers & chilies. The roti was very, very good. Just a note that it is SCREAMING HOT when it goes in the pkg, so I recommend you open it up and let some of the steam escape as you take it home so it's less soggy when you eat it.

I've only ever had take out so I can't speak for the decor etc... but they make wicked rotis. I get the saag aloo and add Chana. It's super yum! I don't know anywhere else that has proper Indian roti. It's always exactly what I want when it comes. This time of year, I love spicy comfort food like this!

My buddy was in town for Acro Festival so I picked somewhere nearby for us to eat. We decided to try Indian Roti Kitchen, which specializes in roti. It's next door to Tropika Malaysian Cuisine. We dropped in on a Saturday evening (around 6:45pm). It's a hole in the wall with only two tables (8 seats total). Most people were getting takeout. Service is friendly and they refilled our waters several times. The menu is split into appetizers, vegetarian and non-vegetarian roti, rice selection, side orders and dessert. You choose your level of spice (1 - very mild to 6 - fire). My buddy J can't handle any spice so we requested level 2. I'd try level 4 if I were to come back. - Vegetable pakora ($3.99) - spiced chickpea batter fried vegetables. These were crispy, tasty little bites. Liked them more than the samosa. - Vegetable samosa ($3.99 for 2) - stuffed with potato and green peas. Pretty standard. Didn't have any heat to it. - 2x Lamb biryani ($12.99) - pulao rice cooked with lamb, Indian spices, yogurt and nuts. Good sized chunks of lamb and the rice had good flavour. - Eggplant & potato roti ($9.99) - sautéed with herbs and finished with curry sauce. Tasty but there's more potato than eggplant in this dish. The roti was pretty standard. - Saag paneer roti ($10.99) - pureed spinach and Indian cheese with cream. The saag was a bit bland but the paneer had a good texture. - Butter chicken roti ($12.99) - boneless chicken cooked with special butter sauce. This wasn't your usual butter chicken. Sauce was tasty but not overly rich or creamy. Decent and cheap eats at IRK.

Tasty, affordable, and vegan friendly! My partner and I are musicians on tour and stocked up on four vegetarian rotis (chana, sag, aloo gobi) for a drive up into the interior where we anticipated veggie food being scarce and where we wouldn't have kitchen access to prepare anything in after working up an appetite during our shows. We were pleasantly surprised by the portions - along with a basic salad we cobbled together in our hotel room, one roti easily satisfied both of us. And while they are great hot, they honestly taste great cold too. We opted for spice level 4 and it was a perfect compromise of spice without overwhelming the more subtle flavors. Now we're trying to figure out how we can fit it into our schedule to swing through and pick up more before the next leg of the tour.

Have been ordering takeout from IRK for years now, and it's been reliable every time. If anything, it's gotten better. The food always tastes like a great deal of care and attention went into the preparation. While it's a simple idea, a curry served wrapped in a roti, it doesn't taste like fast food. The curries have a complexity to the flavour, and can be ordered to be as mild or as spicy as we're feeling like on a given evening. Served at home with the right wine, IRK can make for an excellent pandemic dining experience. My partner and I are big fans of the Lamb Biryani which is the ultimate comfort food on a rainy day. It's not unusual for restaurants to skimp on protein but this is absolutely not the case with IRK. Again, they're consistent and reliable. I used to phone the orders in, but now they have a website where you can place your order for pickup. Post COVID-19, they are excellent at taking the proper precautions for when you pick up your order, and the food continues to be nicely packaged.

I can't believe I lived in Toronto for four years and never actually tried one of the many roti places there (Gandhi Roti, Indian Roti House, etc etc). So when I moved back to Vancouver, I bookmarked Indian Roti Kitchen as one of my top places to go for the summer. I took the suggestion of several other Yelpers (love y'all) and called in to order ahead for takeout. My malai kofta roti (($13ish) took about 15 minutes to prepare, so it was ready by the time I got there! Luckily managed to snag the parking right in front of the place, but I can foresee having to leave extra time to park on the side streets in the event of limited parking on Cambia. I had zero expectations coming here because I've never tried roti in this way before (but I'm a native Indian food eater). However with each minute on the drive home my excitement increased. Unlike with usual takeout where the food gets cold on the drive home, this roti stayed flipping hot for my entire ride. I'm talking burning through my jeans kind of hot. Yeah, there was a lot of uncomfortable adjusting on my part, but it was worth it to have warm food at home. It's hard to capture this deliciousness in a photo, but basically it's your standard Indian curry (they have a variety of curries, veg and non-veg) wrapped in a roti. For anyone familiar with Indian roti, keep in mind this roti is a lot thinner, basically like a tortilla, rather than the type of roti you may be used to eating. It makes for an easy, but not mess-free, meal where you can cut through the layers of roti and pop in bites of curry roti into your mouth. Yum. Malai kofta is my favorite curry, so I'm a bit biased but it was delicious throughout. It's not the best curry flavor I've had, but as a whole the roti enhances it and makes it unique and yummy. If you can't handle spicy food though, make sure to keep your spice level at 1 or 2. The spice here goes from 1-6 with medium being 4. I got a 3, and it was the perfect level for me but was still spicy for my sister and dad. Overall, I think my family will be back here to try more flavors of their curries in roti. Will hold off on the 5 star until I've vetted the other flavors too!

The lamb roti was great. I like spicy and level 3 did the trick. Service was fast. The lamb was better than the butter chicken but both were good.

Awesome rotis. Tried the lamb curry and madras chicken. Both were delicious. Went with #4 spice level the 1st time, then tried #3 which i found better...4 is tolerable. No ambiance as it's take out... Service is friendly

SO happy to have discovered this place! I've been looking for quality wrapped roti for a while since moving to the city and this place is it. I've been 4 times this past week since my first visit and it just keeps getting better. The food is always piping hot when served which tells me they make the curry fresh for you. Everything is well seasoned and portioned. I've tried the shrimp curry, chicken saag, madras chicken curry and the chicken korma so far. My favourite would have to be the chicken saag, the spinach and curry flavours are so delicately balanced it's like the food is dancing happily in your mouth with each bite. Some notes: 1. It's more of a takeout place but they have about 6 seats if you want to dine in. 2. The wait can be anywhere from 15-25 minutes so I'd definitely recommend calling ahead if you can. 3. They have a spice level chart from 1 - 6 and I've tried 4 and 5 and 6 and 4/5 aren't too spicy, but I have a high tolerance. If you're wanting to have a true spicy experience go for the six for sure.

I'm glad they are now open from lunch although if I lived closer I'd be scared how often I might get this. I also learned they apparently recently signed up with Skip so that scares me a bit that it will be too easy to get. Nothing much new to add from previous reviews: Consistently great flavour Sizeable portions Careful with spice - they have many levels and the medium would be hot I think for many people. Easy to go up next time, less fun if you can't enjoy it. Order ahead or be prepared to wait 15-40 mins based on how busy they are. There's nowhere else around there to go have a coffee or drink while you wait. Parking is easy if you're driving - on street. I can only speak for the roti and samosas - very tasty and very reasonably priced. At one they had dine in but even then there was only a few seats so I expect will be takeout only from now on. If anyone ever went to Gandhi on Queen W this is a very close second. The only thing that makes me say that is Gandhi used to press out and cook roti at time of order.

Soooooo good! Every. single. Time. Let's just say that my husband and I are hooked! The flavors are so delicious and there's something really special about this place. The lady at the front always greets us with a smile and is extremely kind. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying the Chicken Saag Roti

Excellent Lamb korma roti, have ordered it twice for take away in the past 2 weeks. It is an explosion of flavors all wrapped up in a roti (Indian whole wheat wrap). You can order it based on your spice tolerance and medium is spicy enough. They have an easy online ordering platform and it lets you know the time it will be ready. They are not open for dine in which makes sense since the space is very small, but their flavors are bold. Highly recommend trying this place.

Very friendly owners! Only seat about 8 people so most people do take out orders. We went around 4:15pm and people came in constantly for their takeout orders and also the phone was ringing non-stop. We ordered a Chicken Vindaloo Roti and Butter Chicken Roti. Both were amazing!! They have a spicy level from 1-6, with 1 being mild and 6 super spicy. The Chicken Vindaloo only starts at a 4 because the curry base for the Vindaloo is chilli. It was pretty spicy, but tasted really good! For the butter chicken, we ordered 1 and it was perfect. If you enjoy spicy, I think 3 would be a good start for the butter chicken.

I tried the Malai Kofta Roti and it was more than enough. Portion size doesn't disappoint. I was worried the roti would get all soggy when I packed it to go but it held together quite nicely the next day. Dare I say it tasted better as leftover since it soaked up all that awesome curry! They got the spice level just right for me. Medium was enough to showcase the light heat coming through. I will definitely try the next level spice next time, perhaps with some meat too. Never had chaat, but don't think I'm food of the dish itself. It tasted like fried crispy dough with yogurt on it. It might be a preference thing but wasn't raving about the dish at all.

One-line review: Really good food in a generous portion at a decent price. My wife and I tried to get to this spot at a lunchtime, only to realize they don't open until 4p. :-( When we did finally get there at a dinnertime, we decided it was worth the wait. We ordered: Lamb vindaloo roti Lamb Tikka masala roti Mango lassi The roti were delicious and spicy enough -- a huge compliment in my family. They can be made spicy on a scale from 1(least)-7(hottest). The server warned us that they make things spicier than usual and recommended that we order a notch or two lower than we normally would. That froze us, but we ended up choosing 7 anyway, and we were glad we did. It wasn't ridiculously hot (like too hot to eat), but plenty spicy for our spicy palates. YMMV. The portions were very generous. We ate half each, and took the rest home for a second meal. That's a win! Our server (she may also be an owner?) was friendly and helpful. The inside of the restaurant is tiny and non-descript; this was all about the food. A lot of people apparently order takeout. We parked on the street for free -- always appreciated in a city that seems to want to soak you for parking at every turn. Bottom line: This was great, and we'll be back.

Big vegetarian menu and they're able to do many of them vegan, so I decided to order take-out. I got the mixed veggie korma roti ($13 plus tax), and ordered it 4/6 on spiciness, which was a very pleasant level (I might try 5 next time). The filling was delicious -- there was cauliflower, peas, potato, and the gooey korma sauce. Tasty and filling. Would definitely recommend.

I've been meaning to review this place for a while. Its one of my favourite take-out places for a few reasons. The food is delicious. We've ordered all sorts of lamb and chicken roti from the menu and enjoy them all. We usually get spice level 2 or 3- we like spice but we don't want to be uncomfortable! It is very good value for money. Most often I (or my husband) can't get through a full roti and have leftovers for lunch the next day (and it tastes just as good if not better). Lastly, the customer service is great. They are locally owned, and its always pleasant to converse with the woman who works the counter. Even if they're slammed with customers, she is courteous and looks you in the eye with a smile. All things considered, this is my kind of take-out.

Had to grab dinner near the hospital and saw this place on Yelp. The restaurant is a lot smaller than I expected -- just 5 two-person tables. But they don't need a big place because almost all their orders are for takeout -- in the 30 minutes that I was there, I saw at least 10 pickups. I got the lamb saag (?) roti, which came in just over 10 minutes, and it was delicious. Greasy, yes, as expected for Indian food, but just right for flavour. I would probably up the spice level next time -- I got a mild-medium, which wasn't exactly spicy, but there are 4 (?) levels above that. Price was reasonable for the portion -- about $15 for dine-in. And, as a bonus, the waitress (the only one who could be seen working) was super courteous and nice.

I went there with high expectations but was completely disappointed. Food: Ordered Mutter Paneer Roti. It was OK at best. And why was the dish filled with potatoes?? Not my kind of place. After 3 bites it was redundant taste. The papdi chaat was alright. Service: Like another person wrote, the lady in the front is all by herself and it gets too much for her, and most times i didn't see her make right decision as to who to attend first. I had to wait for a table to open up. Even after it opened up after 20mins, she was constantly on the phone taking orders and from people who came in rather than quickly cleaning up so I could place my order (since i had already been waiting for 20mins vs the people who called to order or who just came on). Bad judgement.

Delicious food, large portions, and the kindest front of house staff. The food is quite spicy, I'd recommend opting for a spice level one lower than you'd usually go. A great option for an inexpensive date night.

Indian Roti kitchen is phenomenal. Friendly staff, and incredible food. I give their business cards out to friends because I love this place so much! SOMETHINGS TO KNOW I've eaten in; but this place is really more of a to-go location. They have 6 levels of spiciness and 3 and up is pretty spicy. I love spicy food and I keep my order at four or medium-hot. All their rotis are equivalently delicious; but my favorite is the lamb curry. Stop reading this review and go!

Truly delicious! They sell their rotis to you in containers that can go directly into the oven for reheating, so we usually order about 6 of them and stock our freezer. So nice to have these pockets of goodness on hand to pop into our toaster oven for a quick weeknight meal. :) The people that work there are always so friendly - we love supporting this small, local business.

I really should give a 5-star rating, but the long wait for tables is hard to ignore - although it's no fault of the staff. There are only three tables to be precise. Just one lady serving all the customers, including a pretty constant stream of take-out patrons. In fact, their take out must be making more money than sit-in. Four of us shared two roti dinners and one butter chicken on rice. For roti we tried the saag one and the one with coconut milk. (Sorry, I couldn't remember the fancy Indian names). Volume is very good. Had lamb for both roti and they were so tender. Portion of lamb is decent too. The roti were amazingly tasty, with all the herbs and spices popping out with each mouthful. The butter chicken was good, but maybe standard fare. And at $12.99, it's not cheap, but I have to say it was fair and there was enough volume, and the chicken was good. Will have to try other items next time around.

Decent roti, but nothing too special. Roti is one of my favorite things to eat. They made it good and spicy for me, but ingredients didn't look or taste fresh.

Okay, so I understand the great reviews, but I also get the bad reviews and here's why: Location/Parking: Off Cambie - street parking Ambiance: Very small restaurant - it's really more a store front where you pick up to-go orders. They've got 2 tables for 2, and then 2 tables for 2 pushed together for a group of 4. Minimalistic, clean, but very small. Service: PAY ATTENTION - don't just drop in and expect to get food quickly. You must order ahead of time and expect a 45 minute wait for your food to be done. We didn't know this and we dropped in, seated ourselves because the waitress was so busy answering the phone. The phone was literally ringing off the hook. We waited 45 minutes for our food and there were literally 20 people that came in and out while we were there picking up orders (possibly more). This place is HOPPING! The waitress was nice enough and seemed to handle the rush quite calmly. She got us some water when she had a chance - which was about 15 minutes after being there. Food: We ordered the butter chicken roti (it sounded like that was what pretty much everyone was ordering). We ordered a 4 out of 6 on the spice scale and it was really more of a 5 or 6. The flavor was good, but felt watered down with the potato which I've never had in any butter chicken dish (some of it was mashed which gave it a thicker consistency). I'm used to butter chicken being more creamy. But I was starving at that point and it was hot and the roti was tasty so I didn't mind. Recommendation: It's pretty good value for the price - about $12-$13 for a dish and if I lived in the area I would probably call in for take-out. But BE WARNED - order first!!! otherwise be prepared to wait.

Delicious roti you can't find anywhere else. They will let you add other veggies to the shrimp curry if you like for a $1.

We order take-out from here once a week. The service is always exceptional and the food is consistently fantastic in flavour and quality(notably better than the other Indian restaurants close by). I would strongly recommend the rotis, but my personal favourite is the chicken biryani - I crave it! Any Indian food lover should try this place.

It was our first time ordering from here and we will definitely be ordering from here again! Granted, I am not a fan of having my food wrapped up in the roti. I do prefer the option of being able to add more or less roti to my dishes, depending on the intensity of the flavours. As it is, there seems to be too much roti and not enough of the main per bite for my palette. I am willing to bet that, with their 'normal' spiciness, however, the ratio would be bang on. Why 4 stars then? We are all big fucking cry babies in my home. As much as I wish we could tolerate it... spice burns. It burns our tongues, throats, stomachs... and then our asses! It is an unpleasant experience from first contact until about 8 hours later. So, when I told the person taking the order that we ARE all big fucking cry babies... they seemed to hear me, which was a really, really nice change! The other people in my family loved the balance. They were so happy to be able to eat Indian food without pain that they dug in... to the point of gluttony really, it was embarrassing. So, yes to Indian Roti Kitchen!!!

Regularly get take out from here. Quick and pleasant service. Can easily make a dish last 2 meals. Hearty & tasty! They adjust the level of spice and we usually are ok with 3 medium but sometimes it's inconsistent and we need a lot of yogurt to tone it down.

It's so good. Fast, inexpensive, delicious, big portions. We got the lamb korma and chicken saag. Great flavors.

So good. Can't say enough about how tasty the food is. Recommended for take out. Love the sliding scale of spiciness. Staff is friendly - family owned and operated. Don't hesitate to try this place - you will not regret it.

My only complaint about Indian Roti Kitchen is that they aren't open for lunch. So disappointing when you are craving roti on a Saturday afternoon. I hadn't seen roti like this outside of Toronto - a huge, soft roti packed full of delicious curry. I have only tried a couple vegan options but they were flavourful and impressive! It's a ton of food as well. Unlike other roti in the city this is not a wrap you eat with your hands. Instead, it's a massive plateful of food you'd eat with a fork. Also fantastic reheated the next day, if you can force yourself to leave half for later.

I've been here at least 5x. I love the chicken tikka masala, the butter chicken and the vindaloo rotis!!! Yum! It's always delicious, and served with a smile for a decent price. Highly recommend ‍

Tasty take-out Indian in Vancouver! Unique dishes (at least in Vancouver as far as I know) with various curries wrapped in a thin wrap. Spicy! 4/6 is our go to, with a nice hot kick at the end but I would probably start lower if you are shy about spice. A nice bonus is the fact that the couple that runs the place are so lovely and hardworking. I hope they open a second location closer to home so I don't have to drive across the city! (But trust me it's worth it!)

OK, so when my friend and I were looking for an Indian Restaurant, we chose Indian Roti Kitchen because it was nearby and got good reviews. It was not exactly what we expected, but we had a positive experience anyway. It's not a sit down restaurant, which is what we were looking for, but there are a couple tables, so if you come in off the street looking for somewhere to sit down, there is a place to sit (if you don't mind florescent lighting). They do not use dishes, and you will be eating out of a take out container. Which makes sense, because it's really a take out place. There's a line-up out the door around dinner time. This makes it not a great place to sit and chat, but is obviously a testament to how good the food is. They warn you that it's a little spicier than most places, and they're not joking. We ordered a "four" on the six point spiciness scale other Yelpers have mentioned, and it nearly melted our faces off. But, like, in a good way. The mango lassi we ordered was absolutely necessary to counteract this effect, and was incredibly delicious. So was the lamb vindaloo. 5/5. Mutter paneer was more of a 3/5, but not bad. The rotis that both curries were wrapped with were excellent. Service was kind, warm, and friendly. It made me want to support the business because the person at the counter seemed like such a genuinely nice person. We will definitely be back, although now that we understand that this is a takeout place, we won't try to sit down and eat at Indian Roti Kitchen again.

Gahhhhh. The best thing I've ever discovered for my mouth. The vegetarian roti options are plentiful (I recommend the veg korma or the mutter paneer roti so far). Ready in about 15 minutes. Take out recommended, rather than eating in, as it's a small space with little atmosphere.

The single best dollar/flavour/quality combo in the city. Get it to go as the dining space is limited and there is a constant stream of people coming to pick up their orders. Great service, reliable pick up times and enough food for lunch the next day if you have the self control to not finish it all at once.

Great place to grab quick takeout for dinner. Good prompt service but has the vibe of a take out place rather than a dine in spot. Try and phone in your order as it does take 15-20 mins depending on when you come in. The roti is amazing with a perfect level of spice (you can customize the spice and the spicy option definitely has a good amount of kick to it). We have tried the vindaloo and butter chicken roti and both are great and served hot and delicious. Their samosas are also quite good. Definitely on our short list of quick easy eats.

This place has become a weekly staple for us. Read no further - it is a MUST try for this neighborhood. First off - the couple who runs the place are lovely. They're obviously busy and running a restaurant isn't easy. I feel so good about spending my money here. They deserve how busy this place has become the last year or so. The appetizers are great. Both the pakora and samosas are a step above the average Indian restaurant, and very reasonably priced. Definitely a must-try for both. The staple is the Roti dishes them-self, which are just incredible and unique for Vancouver as far as I know. If you haven't tried it - it's a delicious curry dish wrapped up nicely inside perfectly in a warm indian roti. It truly makes the PERFECT take-out food. I cant honestly say that in 20+ times ordering it, it has never once been cold. It's always fresh, spicy, hot and incredibly flavorful. I really have nothing bad to say about this place or their food. Just take-out as it's too small to sit-in. My favorite dishes are the Chicken Korma Roti and Shahi Shrimp Roti, but each one is so good that this is one of the few restaurants where I don't really have a 'usual' - I'm open to trying something different each time. I'd stay away from the 'rice section' dishes on the menu as you'll just miss the Roti - but don't get me wrong, it's good too. Overall I have to say 5/5.
