This restaurant is a hidden gem. Absolutely delicious cocktails and small bites! The drinks were so innovative and creative. We ordered the clarified cocktail tasting flight which allowed us to try their 4 specialty cocktails for an incredible price! We also got the Parle G-spot and Two Minute Quickie, which is an iconic shoutout to Indian childhood food memories (Parle G and Maggie noodles!!). The food This place honors the Indian culture while bringing a unique, fun, and modern twist. The small bites were so fire!! We got the palak chaat, mushroom keema pao (spicy!), and chicken angara! Though we only got three shareable plates, we were so full by the end of it!! Absolutely delicious!!!! The service was incredible too! Amazing restaurant, incredible food and drink, excellent service!! 15/10 would recommend!!

INDN is an absolute delight. The cocktails were incredibly creative, with a unique twist inspired by Indian flavors — easily one of the highlights of the experience. Every drink felt thoughtfully crafted and perfectly balanced. The food was exceptional. The pao bhaji was rich, flavorful, and comforting, while the vada pao was simply fantastic — crispy, spicy, and done just right. The chole bhature instantly made me miss home; it had that authentic, soulful taste that’s hard to find. And the rasmalai — absolutely drool-worthy. Soft, perfectly soaked, and just the right amount of sweetness. The staff, fantastic people. They know how to make customers come back. Very polite and courteous. From drinks to dessert, everything was on point. Highly recommend INDN for anyone craving elevated Indian cuisine with a modern twist.

INDN delivered an absolutely outstanding experience. The drinks were inventive and food-adjacent, with Indian-inspired names and creative mixes that made every sip an adventure. We tried a bunch of cocktails, and each one was thoughtful and perfectly balanced. We had the pleasure of meeting Vicky, the owner, during a tasting. While chatting, we discovered we live in the same neighborhood in India, and he generously offered us a drink from the tasting menu—it was incredible and added such a personal touch to the evening. The food itself was elevated North Indian fine dining, beautifully plated and full of nuanced flavors. Every vegetarian option we tried—from the palak chat to masala arbi and tandoori soya chaap / mushroom—was outstanding. Since then we have visited them for Sunday brunch thrice. They have seriously good Chole bhatura, Vada Pao, Parantha, Pao Bhaji and tea. They usually come around for refill on tea. Perfect for brunch!! The team, from the bar staff to front-of-house, made the evening feel seamless and memorable. A big shout to Muskaan and Amanda. Highly recommend for anyone seeking inventive drinks, elevated Indian cuisine, and thoughtful hospitality.

Phenomenal service. The parle g spot drink was to die for and the mushroom keema pao was out of this world. It's a crime that this place isn't more widely recognized. If you want cocktails with a highly innovative indian flavor and some of the best Indian style tapas in NYC, you need to try INDN out. Shout out to our server Badshah who explained every drink and possible pairing with us, service like that is hard to come by, and should be recognized.

I wish we got the best table, it would have been the best experience. But we didn’t reserve it so if you want the best experience reserve a table before coming. We got a seat next to billing and kitchen. Hence 4* . Let’s talk about food… it was delicious 🤤 palak chaat was the highlight. Onion kulcha was so yummy that I could eat that without gravy. Everything was so freshly made and perfect amount of flavor. And at the end we ordered shahi tukda for dessert and I am so happy we did. It took some time for the server to get it because they freshly made it and were waiting for it to cool down … every bite was beyond heaven ☺️ we would come again for the best experience.

Love this Indian restaurant! All the way from the food to the ambience to the service! The cocktails were the star- I would recommend the clarified drinks which were the perfect balance of flavor and booziness. We tried the Paan Intended, She Slaps a the Chai and ParleG. We ordered a number of different food items and my favorite had to be the Palak Chaat and the Mushroom Keema Pao (to die for!)

Having tried many innovative Indian concept restaurants, INDN stands out as one of the best I’ve tried. The food is made fresh, tastes great and portions are larger than I expected. Our mushroom appetizer and paneer entree were great! Drinks are also very refined and add a great spin on traditional Indian flavors. We loved the Paan drink and was our favorite! Grayson took great care of us and surprised us with dessert for our 1 year anniversary!

Went for Brunch and had the anda curry and kachori w/ aloo bhaji. The kachori was crispy and the aloo bhaji was a perfect combo. The anda curry was good as well, maybe a tad bit missing salt and spice - a drizzle of chili oil would go a long way. Tried the espresso martini also, which was good and the saag cocktail which felt more like khatta meetha pani puri pani - was good but didn’t taste the liquor. Overall I was pleasantly surprised by the food and drinks and would definitely recommend.

Sat at the bar on a Friday night. This place is good for ambiance, date nights, after work drinks or dinner. The service is also great! What it's not as good for is the classic Indian curry meal which I should have realized from the name (small plates/cocktail bar). My paneer tikka + roti were excellent, but portion sizes are small and it's expensive (around $50) for 1 person with no drinks. That said, really cute place and it's worth checking out! Just don't go here for "value" or "quantity". It's a bougie place to have small bites and cocktails.

Great aesthetics and good presentation of the food. Service is good and swift. Coming to the food, I guess it is not as fancy as it should be. I loved the menu and the fun names they had for each cocktail and food item. It wasn't spicy enough for my tastebuds and also for the price, it was not very justified. It is a nice place to try out after work with friends but not sure if I would be visiting again anytime soon.

I visited because I had heard amazing things about the cocktails. Honestly, I wasn't so impressed. I ordered the bourbon cocktail and could not taste the "ghee". The rasmalai cocktail my friend ordered was too 'saffron'y. The arbi and Amritsari fish were so fried and coated with a thick batter. The almond halva was not rich enough IMO - more like a porridge. We ordered 6 small plates, 3 breads, 3 drinks and 1 cocktail flight. Overall the food and experience was good yes but nothing really bowled me over. Is this place making things better than the Indian restaurants on Lexington ave? The price tag does make you compare. Not sure I agree there. The presentation is better for sure. The ambiance here is nice. The service was great for sure too. A place has to have repeat value - not sure if this has it for me.

Overall we had a nice experience here but for me it's just not worth the price. The food is pretty good but the prices are way too high for the small plates (which are actually are small portions), and an $8 naan shouldn't be the size of my hand. Food we liked: Palak Chaat, Anda Bhurji, Chicken Angara Drinks we liked: Saleem Ka Ghoda

INDN completely exceeded every expectation. Knowing it's owned by Vicky Vij (who owns Bukhara and catered our wedding) and his daughter/ son in law--we came in excited, and somehow it still managed to knock our socks off. This is a truly classy tapas-style cocktail bar with impeccable vibes and an atmosphere that feels both elevated and welcoming. Every single dish we tried was outstanding, but the samosa chaat deserves a special mention--it was my absolute favorite and honestly unforgettable. The vada pav, soy chaamp, and mushroom keema were all packed with bold, perfectly balanced flavors. There's genuinely no room for suggestions here--everything from the food to the cocktails to the ambiance was perfection. We'll absolutely be back many times. Easily a beyond 5 star experience.

The atmosphere here feels like the poshest restaurant in a Tier 2 Indian metro - maybe Indore? Everything is very nice but just a little bit off (the high chairs at the bar are TOO high), it's very empty, and as soon as you walk out you find yourself in the chawl that is New York's ittar ki galli (aka 30th Street). Anyway I'm being a hater, but there are 4 stars with my review because the paneer tikka kebab was legitimately very good. (And in fairness, I've always had good meals at these sorts of posh eateries in Tier 2 metros). The paneer was perfectly crispy outside and soft on the inside - one of the best housemade paneers I've had in the city. Old Monk is oddly absent from the rum selection, but there are a variety of other desi brews in stock.

Came back and tried some mains this time. Honestly, the kadhai paneer and dal makhani were amazing. The price is quite steep though.

I definitely recommend checking this place out. Every dish I tried was flavorful and well thought out. The only downside was the $8 garlic naan, which was pretty small and not really worth it. Aside from that, the service was good, the host seated us right away, and the space is nice and perfect for a little date.

Decided to check out this place during my latest trip to New York. Came here on a Sunday but had to make a reservation before that. Now, one would imagine that if you're requiring reservations you'd have someone to greet you when you arrive. No hosts on duty at 10 PM. However, a bar tender sat me. The ambience is very fun. Lots of old Bollywood remixed songs and 90s pop songs. Decor was average nothing to really talk about. For drinks, I tasted two gin based drinks and decided to go with paneer gin. It was light and delish. Kinda like chartreuse but better. The. I ordered Chicken Angara based on the recommendation from the bar tender. I think his name was Dilnath. The bar tender also recommended Keema Pav but I didn't want to eat too heavy at night. That chicken angara was bomb! So packed with flavors. The chicken was juicy and tender and definitely lived up to the hype. The mint chutney should not be ignored. It's a medium spicy so check with your spice tolerance. Dilnath and Sean were the most attentive bar tenders and I was so appreciate of their suggestions. Definitely worth a visit. One drink and one order of chicken amounted to 59.88 . So if you and your friends, co-workers, families are in a mood to splurge and have a good time definitely visit.

I'll Update just to let you know it's still incredible. Even their brunch options. Vicky uncle has done it again. From service to ambience to food. I wouldn't change this place for anything. This is one of my fav restaurants in the city. Hands down.

Came with a couple friends on a Thursday night, and it was bustling! I definitely recommend making a reservation in advance, because our wait was over an hour. The restaurant space is somewhat compact, but they make a good use of the space with low dining tables - mostly two person tables and a few larger tables for big groups, - and a sizable full service bar. My friends and I ended up sitting at the bar, which was beautifully lit and had a minimalistic aesthetic similar to the rest of the space. We ordered some cocktails to start. I had the Pickle Backstabber and my friends had the How can she slap? And Nothin' But a Ghee Thing. The drinks were all very good and very different in flavor profile. If you want something on the sweeter end, I recommend the how can she slap? - the mango definitely comes through as the dominant flavor. The pickle Backstabber had more of a salty, savory profile, as you might expect given the name. The Nothin' But a Ghee Thing was their take on an old fashioned. All the dishes are shareables, yet the portions are still somewhat sizable, which is great. We had the spinach patties, 10-spice battered fish, spice marinated chicken, and charred mushrooms. All the dishes were delicious and I would order them again; but I found that despite being different dishes, they all kind of had the same flavor. The dishes were spicy, and they all came with the same green chutney. It would've been nice to have different chutneys or sauces to go with the dishes to give some variety. Because overall, it all tasted the same, especially with the level of spiciness that seemed to drown all the other flavors out -- in my opinion. Service is great, and the staff are all very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was vibrant and lively with lots of conversation and energy about the space. I will definitely be back to try more of the menu items and cocktails!

Lacks sincerity. All style, no substance, and way overpriced.....that's the best way I can describe this restaurant. I went to INDN with high hopes, but unfortunately walked away very disappointed. It leaves you with that frustrating, almost irritating feeling of being fooled. The ambience is probably the best part...fun, lively, and well put together but that's where it ends. Let's start... first and foremost our server was disinterested at the onset... seemed impatient throughout the evening, never really engaged or interested in serving us. The owners were around at the restaurant but I guess that did not change the attitude of the non chalant staff in general. The food was a major letdown. If you're selling it as "small plates" and charging $24-$36 each, at the very least the quality, taste, or presentation should justify it. But the dishes were mediocre and the presentation was lazy (considering they are positioning it as gourmet small plates). Epic fail! The only small plate dish that truly stood out was the palak chaat, which was crispy, flavorful and delicious. The rest felt underwhelming and run off the mill: * Tandoori Paneer appetizer- just three pieces and ridiculously overpriced. * 10 spice battered amritsari fish - tiny fried pieces, clearly cutting corners on quantity. * Malai tikka chicken - average at best. Moving to the mains: * Pindi style chickpeas - honestly not bad, probably one of the better dishes of the night. * Wok seared Paneer - very few pieces of paneer drowned in large amount of onion and masala gravy. * Charred chicken in creamy tomato sauce- sweet as expected, but nothing memorable. * Mutton broth pulao - again small portion seems to be the theme of this place... fine in taste, but forgettable. The dessert, Shahi Tukda, was the biggest disappointment... bread was a bit hard, cloyingly sweet and poorly done. The drinks menu was creative and enjoyable, but not enough to save the evening. Overall, INDN is overpriced, underwhelming, and lacks sincerity, which is very important part of customer experience. Ambience and cocktails aside, there's nothing here that makes me want to return. I would NOT recommend it at all.

We had reservations Fri night but ended up sitting at the bar and had the best time! We had the arbi, tandoori mushrooms, keema pav, and amritsari fish. Everything tasted great, I loved the small plate concept bc we had so much variety. The cocktails also all tasted great! Staff was very attentive and friendly, you can tell they're all passionate about the food/drinks. There was also a DJ at the end which really elevated the vibe. Can't wait to be back!

A lovely new addition for Indian food. An open breezy spot that allows walk ins and is not pretentious. The place has amazing apps mostly and lives up to its small plate vibe. I didn't really the enjoy the mains they were ok. I have also had the pleasure of trying the brunch it was ok. Nothing amazing, come for the small plates and drinks. Enjoy. Service is nice and friendly!

100% recommend - the food, drinks, and ambiance were amazing. highly recommend the chaat, the mushroom keema, and the paneer - the chaat was the best chaat I've ever had. also recommend the margarita - great twist on a spicy marg. will definitely be back

I was very curious and interested in trying an Indian place that advertises 'small plates' and cocktails, a tapas style I personally love and Indian food doesn't usually offer. Also took a foodie friend who was visiting NYC, and this is our overall feeling that all of us had - underwhelming. - firstly, nothing is a 'small plate' really if you price things at $30 and up! - the only dish worth mentioning at all was the palak chaat, well balanced and lovely - the ajwain prawns, recommended very warmly by our server, were overcooked and consequently chewy/rubbery, the cooking not remarkable either - the mutton barah kebab was the least favorite - tough, too much spice so you don't taste the meat much - keema pao was usual, very spicy - chicken angara kebab was good, not remarkable - the 2 cocktails we tried (paneer panic, saleem ka ghoda) were good All in all, in a city crowded with good Indian restaurants - not to mention remarkable good food options generally - Indn was disappointing and overpriced for what it is selling. The fact that they took 25 min to seat us in spite of our reservation and us arriving dot on time didn't thrill me, I might add. I find it hard to sing praises of the atmosphere/ambience of a restaurant, no matter how good it may be, if the food itself fails to interest, let alone impress me. And charging a fee for using a cc - who pays restaurant bills like these in cash?! - is ridiculous, I'd say.

Food, Service, Ambiance was great and very upscale! A bit overpriced for the concept of small plates. Just one bummer was the restaurant charging $55 (3.5% as Credit Card fees) on a $2000+ bill. It is an upscale place and charging such fees without any reservation note or reminder is wrong and not acceptable. I have been to most of the Indian fine dining restaurants in New York and no one has such fees as the audience they are catering to will mostly always pay using a credit card.

Now this one's a crowd pleaser- super delicious small plates of a variety that can be shared by all + choice of bold cocktails to pair as per preference. INDN is a promising new addition to the fire NYC Indian food scene. The vibe is that of a cocktail bar restaurant- warmly lit & elevated by a strikingly stocked bar. The menu is mostly focused on small plates but they serve some popular mains & irresistible desserts too. We went for a birthday dinner & had a bunch of appetizers- literally all of them were fantastic. They do charge a per head fee if you bring a cake from outside to cover service. The servers & manager both came to check on our experience which was very pleasant. INDN prices are a bit steep but worth a visit, it's unapologetically Indian and has a flare.

I visited the restaurant during its opening weeks. The drinks were delicious and the food was enjoyable, especially for desi tapas and our waiter was lovely, very knowledgeable and helpful. My rankings are for the snobbish owners, who seemed to look down their nose at the patrons. Even when we walked by them on our way out to give them our appreciation, they just barely acknowledged us. As a comparison, we went to another recently opened restaurant in NYC and the owner took his time to visit each table and express his thanks for visiting his establishment. Also, the bathroom was "under construction", even after a month of being open. Perhaps if we were celebs or influencers, our experience would have been different.

Good food but extremely overpriced for portions and drinks. You cannot charge $20-30 for an appetizer that you're supposed to share when it's legit meant for one person. Overall the place is supposed to be Indian fine dining(which it is), but its not for me. If you're looking towards a hearty meal during a gloomy rainy day, I'd try somewhere else

Solid cocktail bar with a great concept bringing the indian flare to nyc's bar scene. Staff is great and attentive. They have a fairly limited cocktail menu, but definitely not a negative. The options are fantastic and the blend in flavors work beautifully. Their small plates options are great and flavorful! Price is on the higher end but worth the experience.

I went her for Diwali weekend with a friend and found it disappointing. The management is too rigid with their rules. Ruined the evening and overall experience. You go to a restaurant to feel special and be treated well. In my view they failed. We had a reservation for two at the bar. The bar chairs are so tight next to each other u can barely move them and you can't even sit at an angle to face each other. They are just trying to get in as many chairs as they can without thinking of customer comfort. The bar was mostly empty so I asked if they can get rid of one do the 15 odd chairs and they refused. We asked if we can get a table and they said they are booked. For the 70 min we were there there were always 2-3 empty tables including for two people, yet they didn't give them to us The worst was that 70 min into our reservation after we had each had two cocktails and 2 appetizers in total they said our time was up in 10 more min. We weren't told there was a time limit when we reserved. Besides we wanted to try their dinner and order some more drinks. Yet they seemed unconcerned by it. We had Solent 175 including tip by then. So it wasn't that we were sipping one beer and wasting their time. Not one staff member said it would be fine to stay back and eat despite us asking a few times. There were still atleast 4-5 bar chairs empty. So it wasn't like they had a long queue and it was all jam packed. There were also 2-3 empty tables Cocktails are anyways overpriced at 23 each. Appetizers were ok But most importantly the management had just an uncaring approach. The hostess was the same Won't go back. Too many good and caring restaurants in the city Oh and their bathrooms are not that great. There is a sign that renovation is delayed and it's not their fault. Didn't they open quite a few months ago

We went to dinner with a couple friends and the atmosphere was very fun. Music was great but not too loud so we could still have a conversation. We ordered the paneer tikka, chicken angara, fish amritsari, lamb chops, lamb burrah kebab and some breads. The lamb dishes were the best but the chicken and paneer were also excellent. Our server was fine but seemed a little confused. I would definitely go back and look forward to the lounge space opening as well.

I really don't understand the negative reviews. This place is awesome. It's not like other Indian restaurants and instead focuses on cocktails and small sharing plates (i.e. Indian tapas). Of course, there are mains / entrees, but the beauty is having a bunch of small plates with the cocktails. Everything was really, really good - like eating in India good. Vibe is really nice - great Punjabi music, but not so loud that can't speak at your table. Awesome, well balanced, original cocktails made with really high quality ingredients. Really flavorful, well marinated kebabs that obviously take time - really well executed. Definitely becoming a regular neighborhood haunt.

The service was practically nonexistent. We had to flag down other servers just to get our own server's attention. There were no recommendations, no questions about allergies, and no check-ins. The only interaction was taking our order and dropping off the check, which, again, required asking another server to get our server.

Vicky Vij (INDN / Bukhara Grill) catered our sangeet for our wedding and did an absolutely phenomenal job -- he was super easy to work with, very kind, showed up himself on the day-of to make sure everything ran smoothly, and - to top it off - we're still getting compliments on the food weeks later. What an absolutely wonderful experience. I cannot recommend Vicky and his team highly enough. 11/10+. Would recommend without hesitation to anyone looking for a fabulous caterer! Hands down, one of the best vendors of our wedding.

Everything about this restaurant is great. Drinks are great and creative. The food is off the charts. Everything on their menu tastes great. Service is top notch. Ambiance is exactly one would want. The owners of this restaurant are really the nicest and most down to earth people and usually are greeting and chatting with the guests.
