We recently dined at Indus, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, we could feel that this was not just another Indian restaurant--it was a celebration of Indian flavors, reimagined and refined. The chic modern decor created an atmosphere that was warm and inviting, setting the stage for what would be a delightful culinary journey.
The menu at Indus is a testament to how traditional dishes can be elevated without losing their soul.
One of our favorites was the Navaabi Risotto. Typically, Khichdi is a simple comfort food, but Indus transformed it into a creamy, aromatic risotto that felt both familiar and new. The smoky dal, mango chutney, raita, and crisp papad added layers of flavor and texture, making each bite a delight.
As a group that loves exploring vegetarian options, we were thrilled by the variety. The Kurkuri Bhindi was a excellent - each piece was crispy, perfectly spiced, and the addition of lemony tomatoes and onions made it irresistible. We also tried the Katthal Tikki, made from jackfruit, which was unlike anything we'd tasted before. It was hearty, flavorful, and a refreshing change from the usual vegetarian patties.
Of course, we couldn't resist sampling some of the non-vegetarian dishes, and they did not disappoint. The Lamb Shank Curry was incredible--so tender that the meat practically fell off the bone, and the sauce was rich and aromatic, bursting with spices. The Bhoomi Lamb Burger was a pleasant surprise, blending Indian spices with the comfort of an American classic.
The real highlights for us, though, included the 18-hour smoked Masala Brisket. It was tender, juicy, and had a perfect smoky flavor that balanced beautifully with the tangy Bengal mustard coleslaw. We also loved the Wagyu steak, cooked to perfection with an Indian-inspired chimichurri and Nizaami Dum Aloo on the side. Most high end steakhouses would be jealous of how good this was.
Our visit to Indus was more than just a meal--it was a journey through the Indian cuisine. Each dish told a story of tradition meeting innovation, with flavors that were at once familiar and daring. For anyone looking to explore what's possible in Indian cuisine, Indus is a must-visit.
We'll definitely be coming back!
