Austin Brewery Infamous Brewing Company Prints Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s Phone Number on Beer Cans | Eater Austin

"A Hudson Bend brewery is printing the Texas governor’s office phone number on the bottoms of its Bugsy’s Amber Ale cans and urging customers to call to argue that brewery taprooms should not be treated as bars. The co-founder says the campaign will continue regardless of any late-stage rule changes, and the brewery has reopened its taproom while also selling to-go beer." - Nadia Chaudhury

Google
Infamous Brewing Company recently hosted the Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce’s After Business Happy Hour. They provided a fantastic setting for networking and relaxation. I had their cider beer, which was absolutely delicious. The brewery offers both indoor and outdoor seating options. The outdoor area features a spacious beer garden with picnic tables and a fire pit. It’s evident that the owners and staff are passionate about creating a space where people can unwind and enjoy quality brews. I look forward to coming back with friends.

Google
Very good environment, the bar has very friendly workers and cool decorations. The band was not there on the night we were there but I believe they usually come at 7:00ish. Pizza at the pizza food truck was good, a little burnt.

Brionne A.

Google
So much fun! The flight was delicious and it was such a beautiful day to sit on their lawn. They even played the Texans game for us while we had lunch.

Google
Great place to hang out, beer and ciders were good.. i really liked the Mimosa cider.. it didn't taste anything like a mimosa. The beer Sex Appeal was similar to Blue Moon. The brick oven pizza the owner makes is authentic and tastes great, as well as the wings.

Google
A variety of great cold custom beer. My favorite was sweep the leg. It has a hint of peanut butter with follow through of a stout beer. The people are friendly. There is a food wagon that serves street tacos. The experience is fun. Bring your pets and kid friendly.

Google
Fantastic beer garden and incredible beer... Food trucks in the backyard, but really laid-back and awesome. The staff was so incredibly generous, so worth the trip! Would recommend this brewery - it is significantly better than the Oasis, which is just a tourist trap. The people and the beer is phenomenally better.

Google
These guys know the recipe to a good brewery is good beer, good atmosphere and great staff. The staff at Infamous Brewing company really know their stuff and made us feel welcome. Definitely recommend checking this place out. This place is worth the stop!

Yelp
Love this brewery, the beer is amazing! They are happy to let you taste whatever you'd like, everyone is nice. Great vibes!

Yelp
What a little gem! We were in the area and Yelp helped us find yet another great spot! This Dog Friendly Brew House should be on your list of places to go when you visit or live in the Austin area. Being out near Lake Travis there are plenty of things to check out in the area so head NE peeps! Staff was friendly and helpful in our beer selection and offered up tasters before committing to the pint! We opted for their classic IPA and a seasonal Pilsner. Both were damn good! They also had a few food trucks to pick from and that burger was got was so damn good! A beer and burger combo is just what you need after a day of paddling or hiking around! While they have a stellar outdoor area, they also have tables inside where it's a bit cooler and the pups are welcome in there was well! Oh and don't forget to check out the bathroom - the most clever one I've been in in some time! Congrats Infamous on a job well done!

Yelp
Beer, food trucks, live music, dog friendly...what more can you ask for? They've grown the area into a super fun destination. There's even a playscape for the kiddos.

Yelp
While out visiting Austin for my birthday back in February, we stumbled across this amazing brewery, which ended up being our favorite one of the entire trip! I had multiple beers from here, but my absolute favorite was the Dye It Black. It had such great flavor and was very easy drinking. The other ones I sampled were also really great and it was very difficult to choose. This brewery is kind of out in the middle of nowhere. It's got a rustic outdoors-ish feel to it. There were benches throughout the brewery to sit at and nothing was done up too fancy, and almost felt like you were hanging out in someone's garage (which isn't a bad thing). Patty was our bartender and she was absolutely fantastic! She offered wonderful hospitality and when she found out it was my birthday, she bought me a birthday beer! Tip - If you check-in on Yelp, you get a free pint glass to take home. It was a great souvenir to have to remember this great brewery!

Yelp
We usually end up here about 3 times a month. They usually have live music Friday-Sunday evenings. They are dog friendly so usually a few dogs around which is cool. They have a range of beers to choose from but my personal favorite is their peanut butter stout. Usually a brewery has one or two good beers but I like 4 or 5 of theirs. One of the best breweries around making beer locally plus the staff and guests are friendly.
google avatar

Gerardo D.

Yelp
Great beer. That's pretty much all you need to know. Infamous is local, the people are friendly, and you can grab food with your beer. I really liked they do samplers so you can get a six pack from multiple beers and see what you like best. Surely I will be going back!

Austen C.

Yelp
Great beer, good service, awesome people! Would you recommend this brewery to anybody. If you have not gone, you should go check it out with the owner. Josh is bad ass.
google avatar

Mario Q.

Yelp
The first brewery we have visited in a long time. Beer selection was great! Cece was amazing! The Cider Hye and the Amber Ale were refreshing on a hot summer day.
google avatar

Missy J.

Yelp
Love that their doing a campaign to get the governor to allow breweries to be open Like restaurants. There's so much room to socially distance! Can't wait till were able to go back into the brewery but love that they found a way for us to be able to enjoy their beer and sit outside. Technically they don't own where the tables are so another company is sponsoring it and letting us sit at the tables and enjoy your beer to go. You can't enter the brewery at all so there is a porta potty, you pick up your beer at the window to go and can sit down outside and enjoy. Their growlers are also awesome!
google avatar

Katherine B.

Yelp
Greeter by a friendly CIci. She explained all the Beer flavors. Three of us opted for SexApeel. Flavorful. Better than a Blue Moon. Sit inside (a/c) or outside. It's a great place to stop!

Rob K.

Yelp
We had a great time at Infamous. Very laid-back, informal, irreverent, fun. The barmaid was friendly and funny. Great beer.

Yelp
My husband and I are visiting Austin and stopped at Infamous Brewing Company for a flight. All the beers were good, but we especially enjoyed the cream ale, cider and Hefeweizen. Service was friendly and efficient. An added bonus was the food truck park next door. We didn't eat there, but heard positive reviews from other guests.
google avatar

Eric B.

Yelp
Dropped by on a very hot Sunday. The Dye-it Pills and Jesus Juice (Ressurection) were the perfect remedy. The misters and fans atound the picnic tables outside were a tremendous help. Oh--the beer was really good...best lite Pills I've ever had. We'll be back. Staff was very friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
Live Music is great, environment is great, friendly staff, an area for children to play, has great events planned for everyone to gather like Sunday Funday games; crawfish boils, food trucks next to them....a great place to have a few brews and make new friends while listening to local musicians!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Great brews with variety, super friendly including dog friendly staff, lots of space to covid friendly hang.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped here for a birthday gathering on a Saturday night. It was a little ways out for us being from south austin. It had many twists and turns and would honest never known about this brewery unless I went on Yelp or word of mouth. Okay, I am pretty sure Trip advisor would have told me too. It is a very no nonsense place. They serve beer, 1 cider (decent since not super sweet) , and wine. This place is all about the beer and you can buy a flight to try the different types. Some of them are interesting to include a coconut stout. You can sit inside or outside on the picnic tables. On Saturday night they had a live band playing who was decent. You can bring your dogs as it is dog friendly. It had a similar feel of Moontower without the additional activities to do. It's all about drinking beer and relaxing here. FYI, they apparently they have pizza and pretzels. Not sure since I didn't see anyone eating it, I would suggest bringing your own food or having it delivered as you have that option.

Yelp
A must for anyone that enjoys beer of any type. The infamous brewery makes and pours FRESHLY made products and sells cans/bottles at the same price as retailers. Located after Hudson Dam, nestled in a small retail/manufacturing area, you can drink inside a small area with full view to the tanks used to make the product or sit outside on wooden benches/tables. On weekends, they have great 2-3 person music sets, sitting on top of an antique delivery truck, or inside, depending on the weather. Personal favorites are the Peanut Stout (think Guinness but with more flavor), the Czech dark lager and my wife loves the Sex Appeal! The bartenders are all fun, with stories and a bit an attitude, feels like old Downtown Austin. If you are a local or guest of Austin, Infamous is a must place visit!
google avatar

Marie M.

Yelp
Love this brewery. This is the perfect place to come for a beer after a day on the lake. Nice wide selection of beers. Some unique offerings like their peanut butter stout, "Sweep the Leg". The day we went they had a taco truck outside, too. No frills setting for people who want a good beer.
google avatar

Destiny T.

Yelp
Great experience and ambiance. The deal on Groupon was a plus and visiting was a casual afternoon date idea while on our trip to Austin. :)
google avatar

Ross H.

Yelp
I come here more than I would like to admit. Delicious beer, great atmosphere that feels laid back, relaxing, and enjoyable. Now with the food truck park there it is even better / worse beause I end up staying there all day, with no reason to leave.

Yelp
Perfect Saturday on the patio! Noodles for the photobomb! LOVE THIS PLACE AND STAFF! Everyone is so friendly, spacious patio, and great local atmosphere!

Yelp
We stumbled upon this unassuming brewery during our family trip out in Austin. We needed a few hours to kill and I'm so glad we decided to stop by here. It is a no frills and very homey brewery/tasting room, with a few tables inside and several outside. I didn't want to risk getting bitten by bugs so we opted to stay inside. I did not catch their names but we were helped by two ladies and they were extremely nice! We settled on a flight and a pint of their gose (from a can, as it was not available on tap). She was nice enough of offer to open the can and just include it in my flight, but I didn't want to waste any gose and had her just give me the entire pint. Most of the beer we tasted were delicious. We picked up a mix and match 6 pack, since I enjoyed their gose so much. It is really hard to find a brewery that does the gose the way the Germans in Leipzig do it, as it is supposed to be a bit salty and lightly sour, with some funkiness to it. It definitely isn't for everyone and Infamous does a pretty decent job at making it. Most other breweries treat it as a straight sour beer, so you'd get a big sour kick in the face. Other beer worth mentioning are the Hijack cream ale, Bugsy's fire bush amber ale and Destination red ale. Also there is a Yelp check in for a free pint glass, perfect free souvenir for myself!

Yelp
This place MUST be added on your brewery tour list. We found it accidentally while we were up seeing the oasis. The beer was fantastic and I actually had a difficult time choosing my least favorite. They occasionally have live bands, from what I hear, but this place is good for a beer in the rustic shade. There are food trucks nearby if you get hungry.

Alyssa M.

Yelp
It's my first time coming to Texas and these two wonderful women that run the place did not disappoint! They were so friendly and welcoming! There was great live entertainment with such an amazing atmosphere! Everyone was just so friendly and we felt like we were at home. If you haven't gone to this brewery yet you're missing out it's a must go when in Austin! All of the beers were incredible and so delicious! Thank you everyone for the wonderful experience we will be back!

Jessica B.

Yelp
Great selection of beers that are local to lake Travis. Cici was amazing and gave us a rundown of every beer they had. This is such a great atmosphere and we will definitely be back! Their sex a peel was my favorite and really great for the summer months. 10/10.

Yelp
I don't drink much nor often but when I get the urge to have a nice cold beer, I really enjoy going to Infamous Brewing. Their set up in these social distancing days is perfect. Plenty of tables and room at the next door patio area (Shout out to Lakeway Plumbing for opening up their place for folks to relax). Really, really clean porta potties too. CeCe is always ready to offer suggestions or let you sample a brew. She has patience with rookie's questions like no other! And - these are really great people trying to keep a great business viable. Go see them. Don't drink beer at all? Just go there, say "hi" and buy a tee shirt or cap - Christmas is coming and these make great gifts.

Felyce L.

Yelp
Great beer and friendly people! We love hanging out at Infamous, listening to live music, and meeting new people. There is a variety of great food at the food trucks in the next yard!
google avatar

Taryn R.

Yelp
Teeny-tiny little place off the beaten path. We ordered a flight to sample everything they had to offer. Unfortunately, I didn't love anything I tried. There were some drinkable options -- the cream ale and amber. But the peanut butter porter stout fell flat. Literally. It tasted watery and flat. Once I adore, I liked the atmosphere. (The outside is a run of the mill strip mall.) The pallet walls were cool. We also appreciated the free popcorn!
google avatar

Steve A.

Yelp
Infamous brewing is kick ass the newly remodeled taproom/tasting room is great the idea that you can buy specialty casked craft beers when you leave is also a great idea I buy these as gifts for business associates partners and clients. Great place to hang out Thursday Friday and the weekends are jammin with music and everything else the taproom staff are wonderful. And the brew master and his team are fabulous and don't get forget to talk to the owner he is hilarious. Gotta say more about the bartenders they are super awesome super generous and friendly and make everyone feel at home. If you haven't tried it give it a try If you've been here before come on back out it's October now and the weather is great the new tap room is really pretty and they've really improved their brew facility take a new tour get the taster oh my gosh the tasting menu and the taster is one of the best I've ever seen
google avatar

Bob M.

Yelp
I was there at an off time, but I'm looking forward to spending some time there when we can congregate as a whole. This place has a great vibe and great beer to go with it.
google avatar

Monica L.

Yelp
This place is exactly what you'd want to run across on a Saturday evening (when you're 38 minutes from downtown Austin). Unique beers, live music, outdoor venue. When we were here, there was a dog lover with a rescue dog, a couple with their kids (eating the free popcorn) and a couple who arrived on a motorcycle. And I'm pretty sure there was a homeless guy eating the popcorn for supper. It was great, a lovely mix of humanity enjoying a beautiful evening.
google avatar

Brandon F.

Yelp
Really good tasting beer! Live music by the Iveys and Barbeque provided for Father's Day. Definitely returning
google avatar

Mitch E.

Yelp
You can order a pizza straight to the brewery. Pretty nice. Great beer. Dog friendly. Outdoor seating. Solid prices.
google avatar

Scott G.

Yelp
Best beers that span the spectrum from sour to stouts. I specifically like the darker ones including sweep the leg which is very close proximity to 512 pecan porter. Like the friendliness and events
google avatar

Katie S.

Yelp
Came here with friends to see another friend of ours play a live show. The music way great and so was the atmosphere! Everyone loved being able to listen to music and then wander in and have a great conversation with the bartender while grabbing a beer. I'm picky with alcohol and she listened to all of my little quirks and recommended different drinks to me and let me try them all. We came in the heat of summer in the middle of the afternoon but because of the mister fans it wasn't bad at all! It was a great backyard feeling! I will definitely be here again.

David F.

Yelp
Phenomenal beer. Great vibe. Fantastic food trucks. Live music kills it! If you haven't been - GO!
google avatar

Yelp
More people need to find out about this small craft brew establishment located in Hudson Bend near Lake Travis just off of 620! What a gem! Great owners, great beers (can you say "Peanut Butter Stout?), good group of folks to hang out with...occasionally have live music and/or food. Always comp popcorn. Nice prices for high quality beers. Buy your own glass and you get a couple extra ounces per pour. The flights are a great place to start. Find your favorite, order a full. And be prepared to stay a while. On our first visit we were just going to "stop by"...ended up staying about 2 hours after they closed and hanging with the owners and their friends! Beware: you might get sucked in too by all the flowing beer and great conversation! A really good time! Infamous now has tastings and tours on Saturdays and Sundays from 1-5pm. Be sure to check their website or follow them on Twitter for special events and seasonal brew announcements. http://www.infamousbrewing.com/index.html @InfamousBrewing

Yelp
Small brewery just outside Austin that has great beers! My friend and I were very impressed with INFAMY - their Olde Ale! The brewery is kid and dog friendly - and they often have events (with food trucks or movie nights)!
google avatar

Jaca V.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places to relax and grab some awesome beers. Mostly locals here and the vibe is super chill. Dogs and kiddos welcome. Free popcorn always available , and free movie night on every Thursday. This is one of those places that I want to promote and rave about, but at the same time, don't want it to get too big and leave this amazing location that's super convenient for us! Either way, best local place in the area.
google avatar

Rob M.

Yelp
I have been coming here for several years now and the only reason I didn't write a review is because I wanted to keep it a secrete but the cats outta the bag on this great Hudson Bend local brewery. They just tapped their first sour which was GREAT if you're a sour beginner. Not too tart but still a sour. My go to is their IPA. This is what really got me addicted to IPAs in the first place. There is now a food truck open every day the beer garden is open. Stop by and get a little taste of life in "The Bend".
google avatar

Chanele R.

Yelp
Infamous is an awesome spot to try some high-quality beer and hang out in a very low key, relaxed environment. Tucked away in the back of an office park, it has a surprisingly nice outdoor area with plenty of picnic tables and a seasonal fire pit. There is usually a food truck, and you may even catch some live music. The owner, Josh, takes real pride in his beer and his establishment, and it shows in the quality brews being poured here. All in all, if you're a fan of good, locally-made beer, you should stop by Infamous.
google avatar

Dhaval B.

Yelp
Friendly staff, amazing beer, with a cozy environment! Would definitely recommend this brewery to anyone in the area who loves beer. They also serve food, which is always a plus.
google avatar

Sarah M.

Yelp
What not to love about this place?!? Beer sometime s food and a band to boot.. zone sure to look at the calendar for all the fun and exciting events they have throughout the year. We love coming here and hanging out.. be back as soon as we can great spot.

Angel A.

Yelp
This is a no bullshit brewery. Great beer, awesome owner and great staff. Fell in love with the Cream Ale but every beer is legit. The big plus is that it has a great neighborhood vibe.
google avatar

James H.

Yelp
I'm glad I finally got to try this place out yesterday. After spending the hot afternoon on the lake, the idea of a nice cold beer seemed particularly appealing. Infamous Brewery had been added to my bucket list after I heard about it from Dawn H and Bobby M who are regulars. This was a quick visit just to sample a pint since we had our kids with us. They had their slurpees from 7-Eleven and popcorn from the machine at Infamous so they were all good. I got myself a glass of their Bugsy's Fire Brush which is a nice refreshing amber ale while my wife got a glass of the Infamy. I liked them both and we were ready to purchase some to take home with us but were told they don't sell the bottled product at the brewery. They're available at the nearby convenience stores though.
google avatar

Yelp
This place...... so much great to say about it from erika and patty to the bugbys and infamy. A great place to hit a motorcycle run or bring the convertible out. Music a 5 , beer a 5 and dog friendly a 10!
google avatar

Tank L.

Yelp
Great little local brewery. Beer is always cold. They have a great little outdoor venue with live music on the weekend. Always seem to find ourselves stoping in yo have a beer and enjoy the music.

Dusten F.

Yelp
I came up from San Antonio for a jeep meet they were hosting for DarkSide Jeepers. I loved the gals working behind the counter. So sweet and fun to talk to. Prior to the meet-up I had never heard of them. They are a young ambitious crew with a bright future ahead of them. I am looking forward to seeing their brews in the local H.E.B.s here in S.A. A food truck was right outside the door and I saw quite a few people ordering from it. I had eaten prior to arriving so I did not partake in the fare that was being offered. A large antiquish flatbed truck sits next to the patio and offers its bed as a stage to local bands who play there. I really loved the idea of this. There are a handful of tables inside offering plenty of seating and enough room for a small band to play as well. I missed the brewery tour, but will try to get in on it next time. Thank you for the hospitality and fine brews!
google avatar

Yelp
If you are familiar with the local breweries and Lake Travis, you will want to visit this tiny place with beers that are huge in flavor. Yes, this brewery is in an industrial area of Hudson Bend but there is an outdoor patio area covered in trees and sometimes a local artist. The staff is always super friendly....hmmmm...beer? super friendly? The combination of cool staff, tasty beer and nice shady trees make this a hidden gem! Whenever I get a hankering for a delicious cold beer, this is my go to spot! Give them a hollar as soon as you can!
