Depressed Cake Shop Bakes Up Desserts for Mental Health Awareness | Eater Austin

"A zero-waste grocery in Cherrywood that is closing, with its last day on Friday, April 27. The shop—opened by brothers Christian and Joseph Lane at 2610 Manor Road in 2012— ran an IndieGoGo campaign last year and raised its $30,000 goal, but the funds weren’t enough to keep it open." - Nadia Chaudhury

It was a good experience for the group of five to have lunch at In.gredients. Nice design, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Menu is simple, food was fresh, some ingredients combination was unique. Not sure if the concept is a business lunch or unique restaurant experience for the corporate employees. Overall, we liked it, although we would like to explore more dining places.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. From the moment you walk in, you can tell there’s something special about it. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a genuine neighborhood feel — like you’re part of a community rather than just a customer. The staff are always so friendly and knowledgeable; they take the time to explain where their products come from and how everything is sourced, which I really appreciate. What I love most is their commitment to sustainability and local sourcing. You can really taste the difference — everything feels fresh and thoughtfully curated. Whether I’m grabbing a quick snack, stocking up on local produce, or picking up one of their freshly prepared meals, I always leave happy (and usually with something new to try!). Their attention to detail is unmatched — even the packaging is eco-conscious, and they make it so easy to shop without feeling guilty about waste. It’s refreshing to find a place that actually lives up to its values and doesn’t just talk about them. In.gredients has quickly become one of my go-to spots, and I recommend it to all my friends and family. If you care about good food, supporting local businesses, and being part of a sustainable movement, this is definitely the place for you. Can’t wait to come back again and again!

Google
Visited it again, a year after. My rating stays the same. The food was not 5*. Tuna - recommended by the chef medium-rare, was overly dried, not sure it should be served like that at all. Both opening courses were very spicy. Savory zucchini bread had some weird spice that made it taste like it went bad... *** Visited the chef's restaurant at the Microsoft campus today. While I wasn't blown away, it's great to have a chef's restaurant at an affordable price. The portions match the prices—don't expect to leave stuffed, but you won't leave hungry either. If I had to pay a full price for a full size dish - I would rate the food not higher that a 3. Most dishes had a pretentious touch, but none were outstanding. We enjoyed the key lime pie, though it was a tad too sweet. The chicken masala was a bit dry, and the savory brie dessert was underwhelming, served straight from the fridge instead of softened as it should be. The rockfish was interesting but not memorable. The mango salad and crostini were fine, but nothing extraordinary. Overall, the best part is the price and the opportunity to dine at a chef's restaurant without breaking the bank.

Google
Great restaurant for Microsoft employees and their friends and family. The rotating menu is every month so you always get a fresh selection. Been here a bunch of times and it's always good. Sometimes their dishes aren't the best, most of the time it's good, that's why I'm giving it 4 stars. Today I had butternut squash soup, shrimp crab tamale, and pumpkin cheesecake, every dish was so good. Highly recommended especially for the price. Make sure to reserve one or two weeks in advance.

Google
Excellent service. We had the three course lunch for $23. All plates were delicious! It is our third time around, and it is well worth it. The atmosphere is casual, with a small amount of tables that cater to Microsoft employees. It is situated inside Building 34. Reservations are strongly suggested.

10:46 1 yelp $ 今 88 ≤ Back In.gredients 贝 ... Menu Info Reviews More like this In.gredients at Microsoft Redmond (located on first floor of cafe 34) offers a changing menu every 5-6 weeks, giving a variety of tasty options. You can enjoy a three-course meal for just $17-$20, which is a great deal. The staff is friendly and knows their stuff, and the place is nice for both special occasions and casual dining. The modern design and comfy seating make it a good spot for Microsoft employees and their guests. They use local and seasonal ingredients, and they're accommodating if you have dietary restrictions or allergies. A delightful place to eat - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED We chose the vegetarian options in the menu. They started our 3 course meal with a delightful bowl of French Onion Soup. This classic dish, sometimes a hit or miss, was undoubtedly a hit here. The robust broth, perfectly caramelized onions, and the layer of melted cheese on top created a rich and satisfying experience. Following this savory delight, I ventured into the Veg Eggplant Parmigiano. The layers of impeccably cooked eggplant, luscious tomato sauce, and the gooey cheese amalgamated into a harmonious blend of flavors. The chef's dedication to quality ingredients was evident in every bite, showcasing the thoughtfulness and freshness invested in this dish. They served us Panna Cotta and a sweet crepe for dessert which was perfect conclusion to our meal at Inoredients Coffee The smonth and velvety texture.

Google
good value for the price! the wagyu meatball, although not the most picturesque, was surprisingly delicious. the salmon and asparagus could benefit with some more intrinsic flavor, imo. the coconut dessert was delicious.

Google
Yummy at great price! Rotating menu so come back to try the new dishes! Loved how fast the food came out, good for a fast lunch hour. You’ll definitely finish your three courses within the hour. :)

Yelp
Came here twice, both times with friends visiting the city. Have to make a reservation in advance but they also do walk in's, would recommend coming earlier, around 11am (opening time) to walk in. They do cancel your reservation if you're 15 min late. 3 course lunch- appetizer, entree, dessert for $26 per person. I would say it's good value for the price! I love every dessert I've had here and the menu rotates every month or so. The chicken cream sauce pasta was so good and a very generous portion! Sometimes the appetizers can be a hit or miss but I've never been disappointed in the two times I've come here. Highly recommend trying this place out if you're a Microsoft employee/have a friend employee friend.

Yelp
Super friendly and kind service, really amazing food set for the price, and nice ambience! Love that the menu rotates but sad that I don't work here as only Microsoft employees can get one in. Pork katsu was really tender and well cooked, loved the simple corn tostada, buttermilk biscuits were good though a little heavy, and the sourdough banana ginger pancakes for dessert were delicious though I was SO full I couldn't enjoy them til later in the evening!

Yelp
Such a cool and inviting space to indulge in John Howie's curated 3 course lunch menu at such an amazing deal for $24 per person. Our server Liz took amazing care of us, we had the best Valentine's Day lunch here. My favorite was the flash seared opakapaka - it was cooked and seasoned to perfection, no notes 10/10 Highly recommend anyone who has a Microsoft connect to make a reservation here!

Yelp
Wow as a Microsoft employee I didn't even know this place existed. It's nice to get away from work and feel like you're stepping into a fancy restaurant to enjoy a three course meal. The tuna sashimi appetizer was tasty and refreshing. The salmon entree was very good, a little on the dry side and relatively small. Came with a side of asparagus and mashed potatoes. The service was professional and friendly. Great option on campus.

Yelp
Great food, menu rotates every 5-6 weeks. Vegetarian options are good as well. Great service and attention to detail from the servers, and the ambience is great.

Yelp
This place is always good and such a steal! Definitely check the menu online ahead of time, as it rotates regularly. You get a 3-course lunch with amazing service and fantastic flavors. I've been a few times and have never been disappointed. Also highly recommend making a reservation!

Yelp
Such a wonderful gem tucked away in the Microsoft campus! You get a 3-course meal with quality items for only a little over $20. They rotate their menu monthly, so it's always cool to come back and try the new offerings every once in a while. Portion sizes run on the smaller side, like what you'd find at fine dining, but I've felt pretty full by the end of the meal every time. The atmosphere definitely feels a bit more elevated than your average restaurant, and service is lovely! You do need a reservation a few weeks in advance.

Yelp
This is such a fun place to visit and great value for a course meal. When we went, I got a crabcake appetizer, a french dip entree, and a pumpkin creme brulee dessert. I wouldn't say the food was revolutionary but it was solid in terms of being well seasoned, well cooked, and filling. The french dip portion was enough to take home for a second meal. It's such a fun concept and would love to visit again soon when they have a new menu!

Yelp
Different monthly menu Very delicious at a good price Service was attentive Accessible location inside the Microsoft campus Nice space inside for conversations Overall, would recommend to try if you have access

Yelp
Having now gone to In.gredients almost every month to try their menu, I am dropping the rating a bit as I do think how much you'll enjoy your experience depends heavily on their offerings. I get that this is a test kitchen, but some of the items I tried were honestly pretty not amazing - the November menu was almost entirely a miss for me (didn't love any of the appetizers, entrees, or finishes), whereas the February menu was pretty solid and the cinnamon creme brulee like the strawberry panna cotta was definitely within the top 10 desserts I've had in my life. The price has gone up slightly; it's now 25 bucks for the set meal, but given how much inflation has affected restaurants in general, still super solid. You should definitely try to have a reservation, but on a recent visit, I found out they have some bar seating to the right of the restaurant entrance available on a first come first serve basis. I wouldn't recommend doing that if you're going with more than two people, but it's also a very fun experience as you can watch the kitchen work while you eat. Parking wise, I'd recommend plugging in Building 35 on maps, but if the front lot is full, there is a multi-story parking garage on the other side of the building.

Yelp
top chef quality eats, smaller sized servings consistent with fine dining. the swordfish was sublime, nicely textured with satiating rice. the scallops were good too, but I wasn't a fan of the blood orange, it made the dish taste more fruity than I liked. the chocolate cake was divine, so rich and satisfying I couldn't get enough! nice ceviche but a very small portion. reservation required in advance and the booth style seating is a bit tight.

Yelp
For the price and the experience, this place is a 10/10. I got the mushroom soup as a starter, the steak and fries as the main, and the sweet option at the end. Service was amazing as well

Yelp
There are three things that I love about in*gredients: 1) Their affordability (less than $30 for a three course meal is pretty impressive). 2) Their menu options that can accommodate almost any diet. 3) The comfortable but classy aesthetic that their restaurant always seems to have. I had the joy of trying their menu for the second time with some coworkers and they truly do not disappoint! Their staff is attentive and ready to explain the menu to all customers and the menu simply doesn't disappoint. Overall, I highly recommend giving in*gredients a try!

Yelp
Shout out to the girlfriend for taking me out. Price for 3 courses was about $25-30 per person with tip so not bad for an upscale lunch spot. Food itself was on point. Top slaps were the flan, mahi mahi, and savory finish. Microsoft expand your food scene you're doing things right

Yelp
After being in the area for several years I finally was able to visit this location. I've always heard that it was on the pricey side but I thought that it was reasonable for the food and service that was provided. Reservations should be made in advance but I have heard that they take walk-ins as well. You luck walking in will depend on how busy they are. They used to be a lot busier before working from home days. Some of their dishes are a lot heftier than others so take a look at the pictures on yelp before you order if you're okay with all the items on the menu and don't have a particular preference.

We also ordered Brussels sprouts on the site but wasn't a big fan of it! But the 3 course menu itself was fantastic.

Yelp
A restaurant accessible only to Microsoft employees and their guests that is located on the first floor of Café 34 at the Redmond Campus. OpenTable reservations need to be made a couple weeks in advance given its popularity and limited dining space. The menu rotates every six weeks and is created by Chef John Howie. A three-course meal can be experienced for $19 that encompasses an amuse-bouche (a bite-sized appetizer), an entrée, and a finish. Additional accompaniments or drinks can be added at an extra cost. I have dined here twice so far and everything overall has been solid. Some dishes leave me impressed while others may be lacking in certain areas, such as meat being slightly overcooked. Service has been on point with the help of a robot waiter.

Yelp
Great restaurant inside the Microsoft building. Need reservations and a door access. have a little unhappy experience and report after it, the manager solved the problem, apologized and refund my meal. And they are really trying to offer great services with true heart.

Yelp
I have not been here, but just wanted to point out that this is for Microsoft employees and need a badge to get in

Yelp
We were on for a Monday lunch time. This was their menu for 10/2022. We loved their brussel sprouts, the bruschetta, and the steak. The waitstaff was also using a robotic tray to transport food. The customer service was very great and attentive. Our food came out pretty fast. It's a 3-course meal for $19.

Yelp
My mom took me here over the holidays since she's a Microsoft employee and everything was delicious! I'm hoping to go back since the menu changes every month or so. I had the flat bread pizza appetizer, teriyaki beef tenderloin and the candy cane chocolate cake and ate every bite!

Wang L.

Yelp
Considering the price is 23 for the 3 course set It is well worth the price Not enough for some people The flavor is so Thai and really good
google avatar

Mara J.

Yelp
This is inside a Microsoft cafe so it a) is only open during business hours aka the weekday and b) requires a Microsoft badge to get inside. It's in building 34. Price per person with a drink, side, tip, and all is around $35-40 which is still great considering it's a 3 course meal. The menu also rotates every 5-6 weeks so it's worth revisiting! They have vegan/vegetarian options and the options are pretty different from each other as well. If you have a friend who works at Microsoft or you work there yourself, definitely worth it!
google avatar

Pragya A.

Yelp
A 3 course meal for 19 dollars is a great deal. The service is super nice, and the rotating menu allows customers to try a variety of dishes. The appetizer is really small in quantity, and the finisher dessert is always great. The lavender crème brûlée for this week for amazing and very flavorful.
google avatar

Vin C.

Yelp
Great perk for MS employees. Was my first time trying their delicious, rotating 3 course menu and I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Fine dining for $20 on Microsoft campus! The menu is so well crafted and the foods are so delicious. 100% the most bang for your buck

Yelp
Got a 3-course meal for $19! It was amazing and very cool concept that the menu changes every few weeks.
