Ingredients - Review - Noe Valley - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Ingredients is a Noe Valley restaurant with eclectic dishes that range from momos and Spanish-style octopus to racks of lamb. It’s also kid-friendly, with a section of the menu dedicated to chicken tenders and spaghetti. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Julia Chen

Food was great overall. Atmosphere is exactly what you'd want from a neighborhood restaurant like this. Service was extremely friendly and inviting and one of the main reasons to come back. My standout dishes: Beet Salad Short Ribs Momos

The Pooch Coach (Beverly Ulbrich)

What a great new restaurant to welcome to the neighborhood! We tried several appetizers, soup, and an entrée, and everything was great. They have some unique dishes as well as twists on more traditional dishes. Everything was so fresh and yummy! We will be back!

Ingredients with love.. one of the best Asian fusion food I have had. The Nepalese pork belly is top class, the momo was wonderfully unique. The atmosphere is very posh and clean. We love it and would definitely come back.

What is the old saying... Don't search and you shall find... I think we just had that experience tonight. The intention was to go to a popular place on Church and 24th but that place recently closed down. So as we walk to seek alternatives we see a new sign... We sort of know the place as it used to be called Amber but now runs under a new ownership, chef and name . Welcome to Ingredients. I would upgrade the name to ingredients with love. Every dish marked every checkbox in my book! If you combine that with super friendly service and a session with the chef .. hard to beat . From the top , Miss Kennedy was our lovely waiter. We only samples for appetizers, pork belly, Spanish octopus, Nepalese Momo's and the stone fruit salad. That pork belly gave me chills down my spine with every bite. Crisp yet soft and that hint of curry flavor is like a flavor bomb going off in your mouth. The Spanish octopus on the bed of salad is simply lovely, great texture and flavor and yes stunning presentation. The momo is nothing like the ones I had before. Yes it's just a dumpling but in this case what elevates this dish is it sauce. It tastes like a bit of curry but it's not, it's a bit tangy but also savory in the same time and yes the chicken portion inside the momo is super moist. The home run was the stone fruit salad, it was nice way to round out all the flavors from the other dishes and round it out. Love it what a great experience and I seldom recommend a place but this one I do.

I am simply… blown away 😱 The food was excellent, especially the momo appetizer and summer stone fruit salad! This restaurant is a perfect blend of all cuisines and light on your stomach even after many dishes. I appreciate all the hard work that went into providing amazing service and delicious meals. Everyone was especially friendly, thank you for taking the time to chat with us even though it was busy. The ambiance was cozy, comfortable, and pleasant; I LOVED the calming colors and environment! A must visit if you are in the city.

My sister and I came here for drinks. We got bread. The manager and servers were SO friendly and such wonderful people. We came around 4:30pm so it wasn't super busy but it was a lovely, quaint, beautiful place. The prices are reasonable. I will be updating once I eat here. We did munch on their delicious bread

Yelp
Best dining experience! The staff was so welcoming and attentive. The atmosphere and design was moody and modern. The food was amazing, would totally recommend the momo dumplings! 10/10

Yelp
The food was amazing. The momo appetizer was surprisingly light, and the special we had , the surf and turf, was perfectly served with creamy polenta, one of the best I've ever had. The restaurant gives a warm classy vibe, and the service was top notch. Will definitely come back next time I visit San Francisco

Yelp
Had an amazing experience here! The staff were all very friendly, especially our server Cameron who went above and beyond. The atmosphere is great and welcoming. All the food was delicious. Our favorites were the momo, gambas, and Delight of the East Asia. You can tell they use very fresh, high-quality ingredients. I will definitely be going back regularly!

Yelp
A Culinary Gem Blending Nepal & America in Pure Luxury From the moment you step into Ingredients SF, you can feel that this isn't just another restaurant -- it's a curated experience. As the first and best luxury Nepali-American fusion establishment, it seamlessly weaves together the rich, aromatic traditions of Nepal with the refined elegance of modern American cuisine. Every detail feels intentional. The warm yet elevated ambiance sets the stage, while the staff exudes the kind of attentiveness that makes you feel both at home and indulged. The menu reads like a love letter to two cultures -- think bold Himalayan spices meeting California's farm-to-table freshness, plated with artistry worthy of a fine dining gallery. The flavors are extraordinary. From delicate momo dumplings elevated with seasonal garnishes, to perfectly seared meats infused with subtle spice profiles, every bite tells a story of heritage, innovation, and craftsmanship. Even the cocktails and mocktails feel like an extension of the vision -- balanced, creative, and memorable. Ingredients SF doesn't just serve food; it offers a journey. For anyone seeking a dining experience that is both culturally rich and luxuriously modern, this is a must-visit destination. A new standard has been set for fusion cuisine in San Francisco.

Yelp
I was greeted with a genuine smile and received the best service one could ask for until I left. I noticed all other guests enjoying themselves and leaving happy, as well. The name of the restaurant is a nod to the commitment to fresh ingredients...but the presentation of the three dishes I ordered was also perfection...all finished with thoughtful details and esthetics. I'm so pleased to see such warm hospitality and quality dining in the neighborhood!

Yelp
Love the food here! We tried approx. half the menu and everything was delicious. Of the appetizers my favorites were the Classic Gambas and the Delight of East Asia. For the salads my favorite was the Gems of California Beets. And for the mains I really liked the Wild Mushroom Risotto, but the Australian Rack of Lamb was a close second. Everything we tried had a lot of flavor and decent portions. Want to come back and try a few more main dishes. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the chef even came by to introduce himself. Definitely a great restaurant and I highly recommend checking it out.

Yelp
I was bummed to see Bistro Ember go but I'm elated that Ingredients has taken over. This family run restaurant works very well together. You feel the warmth of their service once you enter their home (restaurant). My family were well taken care of the moment we sat down and we were treated with complimentary desserts once we left. The food was amazing. We had the dumplings (divine) and my wife had the octopus (really good but lacked a little salt). For our mains my two kids had home made chicken tenders and spaghetti (my kids ate it all) and my wife had the roasted chicken plate with a potato substitute to meet her dietary restrictions (she's gluten intolerant and dairy free). I had the skirt steak that was cooked to perfection (needed a little salt). Dessert was fantastic. The ingredients were fresh. We ate everything in our plates without feeling overly stuffed. Support this establishment. Their product and service are amazing. Hoping they can maintain this once they have their grand opening.

Yelp
If you're looking for a high end Asian fusion spot in Noe Valley SF, this place is a must visit. The food is outstanding, especially the momos which are full of flavor and paired with a sauce cooked to perfection. The service is warm and attentive and makes you feel genuinely cared for. The ambiance is cozy and welcoming, perfect for a date night, family dinner, or catching up with friends. Every detail from the presentation to the flavors shows how much thought goes into the experience. Highly recommend!

Yelp
We came for dinner on the first day of their grand opening and boy did they blow us out of the water! I was not expecting everything to be so good! We can genuinely say that we loved all of their dishes, desserts and wine. All the plates were well balanced and delicious. Some of my favorites were the beet salad, tuna tataki, carne asada and branzino. The pricing also felt very reasonable for the quality and portions. The staff and chefs were also extremely friendly and generous. Our waiter Cameron was the best - so so friendly and had the best recommendations. Definitely a gem in the neighborhood and we will be coming back!

Yelp
Ingredients is a new neighborhood gem! I went with a friend and had a wonderful experience. We went straight for the entrees, but next time I'll definitely sample some apps - especially the momos! I had the curry brined half chicken, which had just the right touch of Nepalese flare. My friend had the herb encrusted rack of lamb and loved it. The portions were generous and they have a very nice selection of wines. The staff are gracious and attentive, but not smothering. I found the value to be excellent for the quality. They're also family friendly with a kid's menu and early opening time, perfect for Noe Valley!

Yelp
This is an excellent restaurant and a welcome addition to the Noe Valley dining scene. The staff is warm, friendly, and helpful. The atmosphere is stylish; cool and comfortable. Most importantly, the food is delicious. Fresh ingredients, subtly flavored, with a nice varied menu. We had the catch of the day (Branzino) and the wild mushroom risotto; both were terrific. We'll be back.

Yelp
What a wonderful surprise to dine at this new restaurant in Noe Valley. The cuisine is refined and affordable. The chef even came to greet us during the meal because he recognized our French accent. The meat was cooked to our liking and the sauces were flavorful and original. We had a wonderful time with our friends in this cozy place. I recommend this restaurant and will be back.

Yelp
Incredible meal, artifully presented and delicious. Momo appetizer had a wonderful sauce, gamba appetizer prepared perfectly, snapper and carne asada a good as they can be. Wonderfully warm and gracious servers. This restaurant was a 10/10 in my book!

Yelp
Went there for the soft opening. The staff was extremely friendly and our group felt very well taken care of. We had the pleasure of meeting the chef who stopped by our table to chat. The food was all delicious and we really enjoyed the wine. We will definitely be back soon.

Yelp
Run, don't walk, to this amazing restaurant before it blows up and everyone and their cousin goes there! The food is amazingly fresh, creative, delicious and awesome! The atmosphere is comfortable and elegant. The service was warm, friendly and attentive. We went for a birthday celebration and we were extremely pleased and impressed by the whole experience. We had two appetizers: Octopus and Delight of East Asia, the Surf and Turf entree, which we chose to pair with mushy peas, and ice cream and GF apple pie for dessert. Every dish was absolutely amazingly delicious. Wines by the glass were very reasonably priced and tasty. Would give it six stars if it were an option!
