Inhabit, Queen's Gardens (London, UK) 8 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"A row of 19th-century townhouses in Bayswater, five minutes’ walk from Paddington Station, might not be the first place you’d look for a stylish, modern, and impressively sustainable boutique hotel, but that’s just what you’ll find in Inhabit Queen’s Gardens. Architects Holland Harvey preserved the classically British charm of these houses while introducing calming Scandinavian and Asian influences to the interiors, and the hotel’s offerings are impressively forward-thinking; the subterranean spa features treatments by Gaia as well as a Peloton bike, and the Kitchen serves a meat-free menu designed by the vegan restaurant Yeotown." - Tablet Hotels

The Inhabit Queen’s Gardens has a very convenient location — just a short walk from Paddington Station, which made getting around London easy and efficient. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay, which we really appreciated. That said, the rooms are extremely small. As others have noted, the bathroom setup is quite cramped — it was difficult to wash up at the sink without bumping your head or getting water everywhere. There were also some cleanliness issues, including cobwebs and spiders around the window, and limited space to move around comfortably. The gym is also quite minimal and may not meet expectations if you're looking for a full workout. There's no fridge or closet for storage. Overall, while the location and service were solid, the room comfort and amenities left something to be desired.

I stayed at Inhabit Queens for a few nights and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The hotel itself has such a calm, welcoming atmosphere it felt like a little retreat in the middle of the city. Ayesha, the manager at front desk, stood out right away. She not only offered us early check in she also helped & recommended us some great spots to visit around London as we first time visited country. We also enjoyed the Spa treatment and One highlight was the delicious vegan breakfast, which was such a thoughtful touch and not always easy to find.We Would definitely stay again.

I'll make this succint since we only stayed for one night. The room was clean and well put together, the earthy feel blowing us away. The only two flaws were our air conditioning, which was quite uncontrollable, and the water pressure, which was awfully low in showers. The service was good. The staff were always friendly and saying "hello" to us. The location is safe, clean, and quiet. This hotel is in a nice neighbourhood with plenty of convenient restaurants and markets. Altogether, a nice hotel. Would recommend.

Google
Perfect location for using Paddington Station, pretty much a straight shot from the lift to the hotel front door! Rooms are quite nice and there are filtered drinking stations on each floor. Staff are super helpful and engaging making the experience warm and easy going!

My recent stay at Inhabit, Queen's Gardens was nothing short of spectacular, and it has instantly become my go-to hotel in London. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the serene atmosphere and the genuine warmth of the staff. The true standout of this hotel is the impeccable service. Every single staff member I encountered was genuinely helpful, kind, and professional. The team at the front desk was incredibly accommodating, seamlessly assisting me with several packages that were delivered during my stay. In a gesture that truly exemplifies their commitment to guest satisfaction, the manager personally carried my oversized, heavy duffle bag out to my car upon checkout. This level of personalized care is rare and was so appreciated. The thoughtful design of the rooms creates a perfect sense of tranquility. Everything is meticulously planned for comfort and relaxation. I was particularly impressed with the high-quality coffee selection—offering five or six choices, each with its origin story detailed. It’s a small touch that makes a big difference for a coffee lover. Another unique and brilliant feature was the hotel's curated podcast; a simple tap of my phone on a QR code led me to a fascinating listen, which was a perfect way to unwind. The entire hotel, from the lobby to my room, was absolutely spotless, reinforcing the overall feeling of calm and well-being. My advice for future guests: Definitely take the time to listen to their curated podcast and be sure to join one of their yoga classes. It’s a fantastic amenity that sets Inhabit apart. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. While I was traveling solo for business, Inhabit is a perfect choice for anyone seeking a peaceful, restorative, and welcoming stay in the heart of London. I am already looking forward to my next visit!

Google
Great staff/customer service. Ishan went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We felt like VIPs with the level of service he provided. Room and bathroom was clean. Proximity to tube was a plus as well. Having coffee/tea/water in the halls was very convenient and helpful. Only negative I can think of was that some of the amenities closed at 7, which was too early for us to have used, as we got back to the property 20:00/21:00. Although, some of the staff said we could let them know if we wanted to use it after it closed.

We were thrilled with our stay here! Very pleasant kind staff. Room was quite comfortable and laid out in a way that maximized the space. Thoughtful touches down to nice scented soap and a spotless if small spa with an infrared sauna we made use of before our flight. I highly recommend and would stay again.

Inhabit, Queen’s Gardens – a member of Design Hotels – is one of the best value-for-money stays in the city. Spotlessly clean, calm, and welcoming. The rooms are comfortable, with quality bed linen, excellent plumbing, fresh drinking water, and great coffee. The yoga room and cosy sauna are lovely additions. Set in a beautiful Victorian building, the hotel offers a quiet atmosphere despite being close to the water. What truly makes this place special is the staff. A heartfelt thank you to Maryana and Gabriella at reception for their prompt and attentive support during my stay. Highly recommended.

Yelp
The Pros: The location is very convenient as it's just a 10 min walk from Paddington station, which directly connects to Heathrow. The room was comfortable with basic toiletries, comfy bed, TV, hair dryer and heating/fan. Breakfast was fantastic; had a good range of continental and cooked, like boiled eggs, deli meats, fruits, chopped melons, yoghurts, smoked salmon, cereals and the British fry up. The staff were polite and friendly. Room had tea and coffee making facilities, two bottles of water, a banana and an apple. There was a safe in the room which is good and you can ask reception for the ironing board. Another good thing is that the hotel had a gym and restaurant with a nice room service menu including a whole section of Indian food too. The downsides: The room was extremely small and cramped. They took a £20 deposit at check in, which I don't know what would have been for as there's no extras and no mini bar in the room. No mini fridge in the room and the wardrobe was rather tiny.

Yelp
Getting a decent hotel in London for a reasonable price is probably one of the hardest challenges out there. And this time around I tried the Park Grand London Paddington. And what can I say - it's a mixed bag of nuts. The room wasn't really up to standard. Tiny (yeah, it's London, I know - I live in Paris, trust me I know a too tiny room when I see it), and every piece of furniture was marked. Like really every single one. The location isn't great, it's bang in the middle of a couple of Underground stations - but not really close to any of them. 10 Minute walk in any direction. I decided against the not too promising looking hotel breakfast. The room (and especially the bathroom with it's heated mirror) heated up like a sauna when you turn on the (non-led) lights - there is A/C in the room but wouldn't it be a lot smarter not to have the A/C and the light-bulbs fight? On the good side of things; Staff were friendly and the mattress was reasonably good. Wifi works and the cleaning staff did their job well.

Yelp
After traveling from Amsterdam to London, we got to the hotel tired and hungry. When we arrived, we were told they bumped us to their sister hotel due to maintenance. Last week, the Hyatt Churchill had an explosion in their kitchen, 14 people were injured and Hyatt handled a hotel switch better. When we were asked why we were not informed of this and given the option to cancel, she gave us a blank stare. When we told her we paid a premium to stay near Paddington Station because we had an early flight to Heathrow, we received another blank look. At first, we were booked on the other side of London but was given the option to take a cab to Paddington Station in the morning, at their expense. Here's the problem with this solution. London traffic can get pretty bad and it can take actually take an extra 15-30 minutes to get to Paddington Station. Just last week, we stayed in Piccadilly Square and it took 45 minutes to get to Paddington Station. So we weren't too keen on waking up terribly early for a morning flight. This is why we planned on staying near Paddington Station. We also had a booking at a restaurant in Paddington which we were forced to cancel. While we were there, the original desk agent called a Supervisor. We asked the supervisor why we weren't informed of this change and she said the change just happened. This contradicts the other agent who told another couple that they were actually informed but they must have not gotten the message. Then they offered us two single rooms because she thought my boyfriend and I were just friends. When we told her we are actually boyfriends, she was quite surprised. We did see some travelers sent to their room. The supervisor had told us because we had booked at a lower rate, their reservations would be honored and ours not. Reluctantly, we took a "premium" room at their sister hotel. The new room is actually a downgrade and quite smaller then the original room. I'm pretty sure the TV is 3 inches away from the bed. After reading some reviews, apparently "pipes" bursts all the time at this hotel. Do yourself a favor and just book somewhere else, unless you like to play Hotel Roulette.

Yelp
My wife and I booked this hotel through Expedia and were quite excited about the location, close to the Underground line and convenient shops, laundry and pubs nearby. We checked into a "double room". The room was clean but very small. One chair and a very small closet, enough for 4 shirts. The problem we had arose when taking a shower. The drain seemed to be clogged. You could only shower for about two minutes before you would flood the room. We found ourselves showering like in a travel trailer, not running the water for any length of time. We telephoned the staff to tell them of the problem and they assured us they would send a technician to our room to unclog. Never happened! We called the staff and they were very kind and moved us to a room, directly across the hall. This new room had a "wet room" bathroom, meaning the whole room was a shower and everything would get soaked when you decided to bathe. The drain as well was slow and we had to manage the water as not to flood the room. After my wife took a shower before dinner, she called me into the bathroom to find there was waste water pouring out of the ceiling from the room above us! Not only water pouring out of a light fixture is a SHOCK hazard but the waste water pouring on your head is a HEALTH hazard! We will not stay there ever again. Let me say that if I could give the front desk staff 5 Stars for their handling of the incident, I would! I believe the problem here at the hotel is the ownership and upper management who I never was allowed to speak to. I asked for a complimentary night for the inconvenience and was denied. They refunded my 50% of our third night's stay and that was "the best" they could do. Front Desk Ladies and Bell Staff: 5 STARS Hotel Accommodations 1 STAR Management: -5 STARS

Yelp
I like this place. It's my second stay. Rooms are small but comfortable. Breakfast buffers are good without being exceptional. Staff is nice and welcoming. WiFi is free and works well. Very close to Sheldon square where offices of Wipro are, and also to Paddington station. Don't confuse when booking with the Grand Paddington which is next door and has tiny rooms.

Yelp
I have mixed feelings. First of all - the staff is great! Their way of handling our requests and complaints is an example of a service minded hotel. The issue is the hotels interpretation of "spacious" when it comes to room descriptions. We have switched room now two times (yes, we are the most annoying guests) and finally we have a bit more floor space. But the space referred seems to be more in the ceiling then on the floor around the bed. The image on the web site and description of the room should be updated to better reflect the reality and hince match my expectations on arrival. The room is clean, the design is in my flavor and the bathroom is light, warm and the shower is even better. Hot water from the selection of two showers handles is just lovely in the morning. But. And this is a big but. The windows leak cold. Lot's of cold. The air condition with warm and dry air mixed with the cold coming from the windows make it a fester for cold and should they sell cold medicine in the reception it would be a success. Once again though, the staff can't be blamed for the mixed quality of the room and they deserve the best creed for their way of handling the guests! From an environmental point of view there is a lot do to. Single serving shampoo, single serving soap, single serving cereals, jam, soft chesse, etc. Let's hope at least they recycle. As for the price it's usually hight, but we got a good deal staying four nights. We've spent two night. Two more to go. To be continued.

Yelp
My sister and I stayed in the Deluxe Double Room. It was a little smaller than the typical size for most hotel rooms I've seen in Europe/UK. However, it was big enough for two people, four suitcases and still be able to walk around comfortably. The room was very clean and had a perfect view of the street/park. The bathrooms had heated floors, which was nice considering it was snowing and freezing outside. Their English breakfast that was included when we purchased the room (which can also be bought for an additional fee if not included) was delicious and did not have a shortage in options.

Yelp
When we arrived at the hotel at 2300 they had no available rooms. A colleague that checked in several hours before us had the same problem, but had received an email so we knew they did have our bookings. In reception with us was two other parties that also had checkin problems. Not identical, but they were there for approx 30mins. First solution was to put us in the same room, that took them 30 minutes to suggest. We did not accept. After raising our voices when being fed up after an hour of stalling, two rooms magically appeared at a close hotel in the same chain. We had the feeling throughout the process of being lied to. Finally after more than an hour we got our rooms. The stay was perfectly alright. Nice clean rooms. Good standard. Adequate breakfast. Friendly staff. Excuse when we checked out. Would I book the same hotel again? Never. Not if there are rooms at other hotels.

Yelp
This has to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. It was part of a move to another hotel because the one I had planned to stay in had double booked us for the one night. Guaranteed that this would be equal if not better value for our money we agreed - how disappointed was I. The rooms décor is akin to Ikea furniture with dark wooden panels from floor to ceiling. The on-suite consisted of a shower cubicle and small wash basin and toilet - all fitted in a 6ft by 6ft room, hardly enough room to move to be honest. The rest of the hotel was decorated nicely and I must say the staff there were pleasant enough! On this occasion that we stayed the fire alarm kept triggering in the hotel at 8 separate time throughout the night with no explanation or apology in the morning! I certainly would not pay this amount of money to stay in the hotel by choice and would opt for a more reliable and cheaper option down the road.

Yelp
This is a low end hotel with a good website and a fancy name. The hotel seems clean and the staff are nice. The room was advertised as deluxe and the photo on the website and email confirmation looked wonderful. The room turned out to be the second smallest I have ever stayed in - you don't want to see the smallest. The closet fits one jacket (it is parallel to the wall - opens like a secret compartment, not a proper closet). The desk opens like a tray on an airplane - a little bigger but not much. There was a plate with an apple covered in cellophane in the room. A good deal at 100 pounds per night - a bad deal at 200 pounds.

Yelp
If you need a roof over your head, a clean room, comfortable bed and a morning breakfast included in your room rate, (but THAT's IT!) then this is your place. If you are looking for friendly and helpful staff, a good location, pretty views, a little but of luxury or glamour, or even a feeling of 'comfiness', then this place is definitely NOT. The bathroom was the worst. The shower shared the same floor as the rest of the bathroom so the water sprays everywhere, which means if you need to use the toilet post shower, your feet (and probably other body parts) will be wet. Also - if someone is in the shower, you kind of can't use the toilet unless you don't mind taking a second shower. I think this is the norm with many bathrooms in England, but still, this was really annoying (and cold!) We stayed here as my boyfriend had a work trip and I just tagged along to enjoy London. This hotel is located in Paddington which is the hotel capital of London on the West End. Everywhere you go, you see tourists rolling their suitcases to Paddington station. Cheapo hotels with neon lights galore, a few depressing-looking pubs, and that's it. If you want quintessential quaint London, you're not going to get it in these parts - if that's what you want, stay in Marlyebone or Kensington. If you want hip and edgy, check out the East Side like Shoreditch or Clerkenwell. I found this part of town to be really depressing and would never stay here again. The hotel was "fine" but didn't give me a comfy, cozy feeling. The free breakfast is a nice touch but if you are into good coffee, pick it up at the local Nero before heading to the basement for the grub.

Yelp
The room was the smallest room I've ever been in at a hotel. Reminded us of a cruise ship room. That being said, they had what you needed to sleep and take care of e-mails, etc in the room. Everything was efficiently packed in so you didn't miss having anything. They had "closets" beside the bed built in, didn't use them, but they were there if needed. The bathroom was different, as there was no real "division" between the shower and toilet except the shower curtain, so you couldn't have 2 people in the bathroom at one time if someone was in the shower. And it really wasn't big enough for 2 people as it was. But it still worked.
google avatar

Yelp
These beds are very nice! Thick and comfortable! Like everywhere else in London, rooms are small but their TV's are great, bed is great, the shower is a little unusual whereas your feet might get wet when sitting on the toilet. Hard to explain but anyrate, worth staying again!

Mark L.

Yelp
Hotel has a good location but rooms are tiny. Bathroom becomes the shower so the floor will stay wet all night. Closet and desk come out of the wall. Rooms are not even that clean. If someone is opening the door to their room, it sounds like they are coming in to yours.
google avatar

Mike H.

Yelp
Tiny rooms but very well laid out. Very friendly service. Added bonus of free wifi. Certainly worth the money considering the location.
google avatar

Marisol R.

Yelp
These rooms are ridiculously small, but very clean. I will give an extra star for the super comfortable bed. The bathroom is even smaller. This place is great for a couple of nights for two people. The location is in a quite neighborhood with a few restaurants. There is no visible nightlife in this area. It is a simple place with no thrills. Its close to the subway, however, the subway system is not that cheap. At times a taxi was cheaper depending on location. I think this place is decent if you want a clean decent place to sleep. The staff is friendly. Stanley the bellman from the Czech Republic gets two thumbs up. He is very friendly and professional.

Yelp
Park Grand London Paddington: Traveler Reviews 1 Queens Gardens | Bayswater, London W2 3BA, England (Paddington / Maida Vale) "no consistency with staff customer service" Reviewed January 2011 Not one staff member was english! All were international, actually thinking from indian background - which made it on a level very hard to communicate and request or ask questions. CHECK -IN On checkin the staff males (2) were fantastic - top marks - really exceptional. When we checkin our deal had not been registered properly as explained to us with central reservation- breakfast was a major thing for us but this was not mentioned upon checkin and when we raised this with the excellent staff on the evening it was all sorted out and was corrected -but I could have only imagined what would have happened had we gone down stairs to breakfast and told i twas not included. Other guests had problems on check-in too - upon arrival a guest was asked for their credit card, even after producing a confirmation email reciept that payment had been made in FULL the lady at the reception desk was adamant that payment had not been made and suggested that the receipt was falsely generated by the guest! The guest refused to pay a second time - as would anyone! RESTAURANT Restaurant staff: well no consistency at all. food - average - warm not hot. Weirdly I 've never known anyone to touch another's tea bag before - but when tea was ordered and delivered the tea bags had been taken out of their wrappings and placed into the water! VERY DIRTY, UNHYGENIC - DIRTY CUTLERY, they were either not washed properly or something very wrong with their dishwasher. First the male was rude, and we observed him doubt over 4 customers when they'd come in for breakfast, in that the breakfast was included in their room. We know this because we made our reservation via central reservations who had included breakfast as part our deal. it appears that the communication and deals arranged with guests are changed or not honoured at all! this is disgusting! This guy appeared to like to argue with guests at a whim. We heard him three times whinge and speak down about guests he had seated not too far away from us - they appeared to be friendly and even upon speaking with them - this guy had accused them of lying about having breakfast included in their room rate and made them go upstairs to sort it out - this was apparently there second day there and upon checking their room account had been charged for breakfast the morning before which had been removed ONLY after them taking their holiday time to sort it out and then they were charged for requesting extra coffee , hot chocolate, sugar and milk for their room under room service! NOT SURE IF YOU WANT TO ARGUE WITH THIS GUY One lady - dark hair, older think Maria was polite every step of the way. A Younge girl, blonde hair, think her name was Nicolette or something - ignored us and others, but was responsive and happy to help ONLY have asking her. She didn't go out of her way to offer anything... though after we'd asked her a couple of times for things the following couple of mornings she did come directly up to us and say good morning ROOM: didn't feel very safe - strangely, didn't feel as if the door locked well or that the premises were safe. It was average in size. Very dark, gloomy presence in the rooms themselves. shower - way too small the head of the shower is way too close to the wall. fridge - none at all! which is suprising considering on wotif.com and when speaking to reservations we were told there was one. bed - average cupboards/storage - weired and not enough. internet - free Gym - ok let's face it three pieces of equipment do not qualify as gym people! And there was not even a water machine in the room - only cups - the water machine was up the hall around the corner down a service corridor or what appeared to be a service corridor. for the rate - its a bed and breakfast. but overall I would avoid staying here if we're to travel again to London city. would rather find something for a little more without breakfast for better more comfy surrounds * Stayed January 2011, traveled as a couple FYI:-44 PGHotelManagement, Manager at Park Grand London Paddington, responded to this review January 24, 2011 Dear Guest, Firstly I would like to thank you for efforts to put your experience in writing. we are extremely sorry for the inconvenience caused to you during your stay with us. I have gone through your comments and have shared this with my entire team members. no doubt that on this occasion we were lacking in our service. we take your comment as a learning and will strive for achieving the best and not to replicate at all downfall of services mentioned by you. regards

Yelp
Business hotel with Very convenient location, good service and really nice breakfast. But the rooms are really small and with no space for luggage and wardrobe. It did have an overall good experience.

Jay C.

Yelp
Great room for if you just need somewhere to crash for the night. They are very small rooms, but I was very glad it was only me as another person would have been claustrophobic. My only complaint would be the room temperature. It was freezing so much do I had to put a sweatshirt on in middle of night. At the great breakfast I realised I wasn't the only one affected by the cold overhearing 2 couples saying the same thing. Overall good value for money, just take something to keep you warm
