Where to Eat and Drink on Campus at Portland State University | Eater Portland

"Also known as Super Joy Coffee, In J nails the classic coffee drinks but I like branching out there for distinctive items like Hong Kong milk tea, seasonal sea salt taro lattes, and the occasional Yunnanese coffee when it’s in season." - Alayna Becker

This cafe becomes my go-to spot for a reliable coffee break and a light lunch. The staffs are genuinely enjoy their work, which creates a positive and inviting atmosphere. It’s the kind of place where you feel comfortable settling in with a laptop or a book without being made to feel like you're overstaying your welcome. Their food is amazingly delicious especially their lobster pasta!!! Definitely gonna come back again

I got the brie as it is recommended in the appetizer section of their menu. The walnuts and rosemary were a nice pair together with the cheese but i was disappointed with the bread. It’s too soft and tasteless. I was expecting a chewy and dark sourdough toast to spread the cheese. But this one just feels like a regular white bread. I wasn’t able to finish my meal 🥲 The iced matcha was good 😊

Their signature strawberry waffle is an absolute delight, perfectly balancing sweetness and freshness. The coffee is top-notch, making it an ideal spot for coffee enthusiasts. The environment is cozy and quite chill, providing a perfect setting to unwind and relax. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a delightful treat and a relaxed atmosphere.

This cafe charms with beige decor and a giant bear photo spot 🧸 ☕ Coconut Cold Brew - Double espresso meets refreshing coconut water 🥥 Coconut Latte w/ Coffee Jelly - House-made jelly with bold coffee flavor - Creamy coconut milk balances the sweetness 🥗 Grilled Steak Salad - Tender beef slices - Crisp greens with tangy balsamic-Dijon dressing 🍝 Signature Pastas - Carbonara with Japanese egg yolk & pancetta - Uni mentaiko crab pasta (super rich!) Attentive staff adjusts coffee strength upon request.

The ambience was nice, with bright natural lighting and comfy seating that made it a great spot to relax. The coffee and cakes were decent, although I found the pistachio cheesecake to be quite similar to a New York cheesecake, with limited pistachio flavor. The portion was pretty generous, though—it might be too much for one person!

June 2025 Came for a quick coffee . It wasn’t bad & the service was good. Decor looks interesting. The steep staircase may post a challenge to seniors. A Coffee bar more suited to the young ones I reckon.
